Hi, just a quick question of my own,
Do Apple ever send the iphone 5 out in anything other than the original tall boxes when bought new. I have bought an iphone on eBay which was listed as brand new and it has been sent in a postal box without headphones and charger, to which the seller said Apple sent him it in that box. Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated

Why is my iphone 4s 64GB serial number on the box different then the serial number on the phone?
I just purchased a new Iphone 4s 64GB. I brought it to my carrier to have it activated. when I came home to register it with Apple, I noticed that the serial number on the box is different then the serial number on my Iphone. Why?
When you bought the iPhone, was the box sealed? Srink wrapped? If not then the iPhone may have been changed.
Have you tried to register the iPhone with Apple and does it come up clean, that is, not previously registered? -

UPS delivered my iPhone 6 but the box is empty!
My iPhone 6 was supposed to be delivered on 19/9, and it did, but the box was empty and my friend (who signed the package, and whom I trust) found that there was some signs it was tempered with.
I sent a Lost package claim to UPS, still trying to call apple. What else should I do? Is there any support email address from Apple that I can send my case to?
Tks a lot.The same thing happened to me today and I AM LIVID!! I am trying to figure out how any company can send a whole package with everything but the phone? I could maybe entertain a charger or headphones being missing, but the phone....seriously!! What kind of quality control do they have? Is someone not double-checking to determine if the boxes have all the materials that they are suppose to have....I mean when you have people paying $200-1000 for phones, you would think that the box would be checked to make sure that it actually contains the purchased materials...aren't the boxes checked for weight or something.. I called Apple and now I have to wait 48-72 hours for them to do an investigation, and then they will determine how long it will take to get me a new phone.....to be honest, a new phone should be shipped to me NOW while they conduct their investigation.....why should a customer have to wait because of their company's mistake? Apple's compliance department should really have a better system for dealing with incidents like this.......I'm trying to determine if I am more upset about this or the time I had to buy 3 computers to get one, and they told me they would retrieve the information from my computer and they didn't....in that case one rep told me that I just had to deal with their mistake and be an adult( I politely explained that I was a law student with finals the next week--that didn't matter to him) , the other tried to mitigate that situation and give me a external disk drive as a peace agreement when I called to cancel my order....some great gift. *sarcasm* However, i do appreciate her kindness.

When you went back to the place where you purchased this phone, & asked them, what did they say?

I am connecting my iPhone 5 to my Windows computer via USB. This should open iTunes and start the sync process. Instead of iTunes opening, I get the iTunes service agreement to which I must agree. Then iTunes opens and begins to back up my phone. It is syncing my photos and music (although the music thing is another nightmare), but under the "info" tab in iTunes, the boxes of which functions I want to sync are no longer selected. Hence the computer and the phone are not sharing information. When I select the functions I want to sync, I must either replace or merge. If I replace, I lose the information I recently put into my phone. If I choose to merge, then I have duplicates of everything.
How can I resolve this problem? Why is iTunes acting like it doesn't know my phone?
I'm using an iPhone 5 iOS 6.1.4, Windows 7 64-bit, Outlook 13, and the must current version of iTunes (because I've removed and reinstalled it twice already).

I've completed an installation with the same steps (although I ran the config.bat file in as_1/bin rather than from the program files list and also I've the jrockit jdk installed)
I've found that this fails with the error;

Which is strange considering this is Windows Server 2008 R2 64-bit
DISCO is running in the EM console but the URLs (as defined in the installation summary report) do not resolve properly. I was just interested to hear if you're installation was the same, this isn't the first installation I've done, they've all had a similar issue -

Apple can fix it without your receipt or box. They pull the serial number from the device and determine warranty status from that. Hopefully ApplCare was registered to the product before you lost the receipt though. If not, you can go back to the point of purchase and obtain your AppleCare receipt and Apple can help attach it to the iPhone.

I will be receiving a new iPhone 6 at the beginning an upcoming trip and would like to use the great camera on it to take photos. The problem is I won't have my computer with me during this trip. I bought a iphone 4 from a guy on craigslist, I knew about ios 7.0 having the lock thing, but when I met him, his simcard was in the phone, I tested the phone with his simcard in from of him. The phone looked great with no problems and I even got the box with the accesories, so I knew it was his... I then did the reset on the phone (erase all data... from settings) and it went through and activated and everything was good... I used the phone for about a month with no problems at all, even had my apple ID in the icloud and everything... well ios 7.0.6 came out and I used my computer to restore the phone, because I feel that the cord and computer gives it a better restore, it did great no problems, and when it went to the part where I went to activate the phone, I get a enter your apple id and password to complete activation... Wait... why is this up i thought, I thought I did everything like I suppose to to succesfully switch it to me, the new owner... but now its asking for some C******@yahoo.com.... I only have @gmail.com emails and none start with a C... The guy sold me the phone because he was switching to Verizon, and I tried to call him, and now the number is disconnected... I guess he switched to Verizon with a new number... Now im stuck with a paperweight that costed me $200.00... What can I do at this point... Please help me... hello, i bought a unlock iPhone 5 in 2012 december and i come back to my country and i pay money to use my phone in Turkey and few months later my push button didn't work so i take my phone to apple in los angeles and they give me the new one but they didn't give the box. and 1 week ago i come back to my country again and i take a message from my line comany and they told that i must give money again to use my phone in Turkey until 30rt of january if i didnt pay i cannot use it anymore. but this is so stupid cause apple change my phone in guaranty covorage. what sould i do now
You need to pay your mobile network provider for the calls, SMS and data you need to use your phone. This is an ongoing charge, usually paid monthly.
This is nothing to do with Apple. Apple only provided the handset - not the mobile network you use it on. -
