Weight of the images (cover) in Itunes
Sorry for my approximate English.
If we use exactly the same image for every song of an album, Itunes is programmed to occupy a minimum of space?
Example: a CD contains 10 songs, the only image which I use weights 5kb. The busy space is of 5kb or of 10 times 5kb, is 50kb?

The overhead for embedded artwork is in the region of 1%-2% of the audio data so for 100Mb of audio expect about 1.5Mb if every file has artwork embedded. This is hardly a significant amount of storage these days. ID3 and other tag formats include a mechanism for embedding art so that each file is a self-contained unit holding both the music and all the descriptive information. If arwork is held in separate linked files then extra effort has to be taken to keep the related files together when archiving, copying, moving etc. It's a matter of opinion but I think the benefit of embedding the art in the file outweighs a minor storage inefficiency.

I know how to see the image, how to search for album artwork on the web, and how to save a new or different image. However, I want to be able to find specific images in Finder that are already connected with an album. I am not able to zero in on it. All I find is a collection of folders.
These things accesible by control clicking (or right clicking with a multibutton mouse) are what are known as contextual menus and are incredibly powerful timesavers. Try control clicking on things and see what you find.

How can I customize the default cover flow image?
I'd like to change the image cover flow displays for an album with no cover art to something a bit more personalized. Is this possible without major surgery?

You can Paste in a picture, or add it from a file.
If there is a picture already there, click on it and then hit Delete before you paste the new one. -
How can I change the default cover image in iTunes?

I've scoured the web for this info but can't seem to find it. Is there a way to change the default cover image in iTunes to one of my choosing? You know the one I'm talking about right? The transparent CD cover with the musical note in the middle of it... the one that shows up when iTunes can' find appropriate cover art for your music. I have another image I'd like to use instead, as I've never liked the default image at all. The one I have to replace it is an image of a blank CD case. Kinda cool and would look infinitely better than the default in my opinion.
Has anyone done this before? If so, can you describe to me how it's done, or point me to somewhere on the web that describes how? Besides having a single default, I would step that up to a default that changes with genre and media: ie. I could see using a sax for Jazz; a microphone for a Podcast, etc.

Is there a way to download music bought on iTunes and not have it include the Album image. Seems the images take up a huge amount of space on my iNano. OR, is there a way to load it onto my iNano, just the music, and not the image...?

How can I change (or select) what is being being used when I share, as the file cover. When I Share lets say "Master File" i want to select a frame that is used as the file cover. So when its on my desktop I see this image as the file icon.
I don't think Finder does this (I've tried).
iTunes does though. Where you can set artwork or the "poster frame"...
This may not be what you want but if it helps, I know 2 ways do this is
Open the video in QuicktimePlayer7 | View | Set Poster Frame (even then, you might need to save it as .mov (ie in a 'mov container').
Drag the file into iTunes and set the artwork (as in http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/adding-album-cover-art-or-images-in-itunes .html)
From there, iTunes will use that frame as the "poster frame" ie the photo/frame that shows when you browse your videos. Which is what you want, but limited to iTunes.
When I do either of these above, the frame I set does not show when exploring files in "Finder" (or in the other Explorer tool I use called "Pathfinder").
So it maybe, that exactly what you want, is not possible. -
Album cover image missing in Itunes
Itunes added most of the album covers I have in my music library but some are still missing I have gone to google.com and clicked on images then searched for album cover images, chose a cover and saved to my desktop, but the image will not paste. What am I doing incorrectly? I have recently upgraded to I'11
Thank you, I found the answer on "More like this..." The step I was missing was clicking on file, then get info...I was able to paste my image.

On my i-pod, when I use i-tunes, the image is stuck on one album cover when I open i-tunes and I can't see my playlist. However, I can still play music on it. MC
When the iPod shows the connect to iTunes cren the iPod is already erased.
The iPod backup that iTunes makes does not included synced media like apps and music.
You can redownload iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
Do the download before restoring from iTunes backup -
The image came up on my screen saying that I need to connect my iPod to iTunes, but I have a passcode, so it won't allow me to. And I want to try and turn it off, but my touch screen doesn't seem to be working either, so I can't even turn it off since you need to "slide to power off." HELP! I'm leaving on Thursday morning for six and a half weeks, and I absolutely need my iPod with me. I was just at the Apple store today for problems I was having with ANOTHER product, and I don't really want to drive all the way out to where my nearest store is (which is not very near) if I can figure this out at home. My iPod was working totally fine earlier today and last night, so I don't know what happened! Please, please, PLEASE HELP!
Now it's allowing me to reboot (hold down power button and home button and restart), but every time it just comes up to the same thing: the connect to iTunes page. Which is not possible. And I refuse to restore my iPod. PLEASE HELP.

Now running itunes version 11.0.1.12 since the update I've added songs to playlists and they won't sync - I was able to get the songs into my ipod library by downloading from the cloud but they wouldn't even sync from my pc library to my ipod - when I first downloaded this crappy update - so sorry i did - the thing wouldn't sync at all after rebooting my windows xp pc three times it says it syncs fine and goes through all the motions but it won't pull over new content at all - songs or podcasts - on top of that the new version seems to have done away with the album cover display - I just got an android phone as a gift i was going to take back I may keep it now and drawer my beloved ipod now that apple has made it obsolete

I have one iPhone 8GB. After making un upgrade of iTunes and software of iPhone, it's impossible to use it. There's no service! doesn't acept PIN code! it only makes emergency calls and the image in the iPhone is the sign to connect to iTunes. What can i do to solve it?
Where are you and where did you get the phone. This sounds like a classic symptom of someone who bought an iPhone that originated in the U.S. which was then hacked so it would run on a carrier network other than AT&T... Then, when updating the phone, it becare re-locked to AT&T.
If that's what happened, you now own a paperweight. AT&T will NOT unlock them for any reason.
If this isn't the case, please clarify where you are, what carrier you have and where you got the phone so we can begin troubleshooting. -
Some of my artwork (album covers) have disappeared and been replaced by some funky designs??? I don't know what I clicked on to make this happen but they seem to be disappearing more and more? I copied the artwork from my other computer and put them in a folder to replace them. When I click on the far rt. hand icon at the bottom left corner of the screen where it pops up and lets you put custom artwork etc in if you choose I can paste the album cover there but it doesn't lock it in or replace it over in my album nor in my cover flow?? Hope that makes sense!

Is this beta. The image for Yosemite is a very big rock, appropriate as this OS sends your mac back to the stone-age. iTunes crashes on open, iPhoto won't update, Safari shows text without graphics, can't get Java 8 'cause Safari "can't find server". Wifi slower than a crippled snail. Does anyone know how to uninstall this rubbish?

All I get when I turn iPod on is the USB connection to iTunes image. Then the system tells me that I have to restore the iPod. When I go through that process it says it cannot be restores because the device cannot be located. What do I do??
- Reboot the computer
- Try another cable and USB port
- Try placing the iPiod in DFU mode and then restoring

ITunes showing wrong artist artwork. how do i find the image and delete it?
iTunes is showing the wrong artwork for an artist. What is strange and frustrating is that the image is not the artwork for any of the artist's albums. iTunes seems to be pulling it from nowhere. I can't figure out where iTunes is pulling the image from. It's a ted talk image.
How do i go about finding where the image is coming from to delete it? Sting gave a ted talk, which i had downloaded, so iTunes may be getting it as a result of that. i deleted the ted talk, deleted all the albums, and then uploaded them again but the image keeps popping up. also tried deleting the artwork cache with no luck. any suggestions besides deleting all of the Sting albums?????Try giving one of your Sting albums a 5 star rating. Close iTunes and reopen. The artwork used for the artist should change.

Issue with going to fullscreen on Quicktime X
In Quicktime if you hit "command+f" it should take you to the full screen view. Several times recently when I have hit the shortcut keys my Macbook restarts instead of going to the full screen view. Has anyone else had this issue?
