Weird Audio Configuration Error Message

When I turn on the computer and start up iTunes, everything works fine. The first time. If I close it and then reopen later, I get an error message that says: "iTunes has detected a problem with your audio configuration. Audio/video playback my not operate properly." Program proceeds to open, but I'm unable to play songs. On the Apple site, it said that an answer to a similar (but not identical) error message was to reinstall QuickTime, which I've done. To no avail. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Since iTunes uses QuickTime to play audio/video content in iTunes, that error message most likely indicates that there's a problem with your Quicktime installation.

    Currently working on Spend Performance Management(SPM) 2.1 application. I am trying to configure error message which pops up along with BEx link whenever we run reports with large amount of data.
    I would like to configure error message so that it displays "Large data in report", hence user find it easier to understand why he is being given BEx link.

    As suggested above , you'd have to remove content creator role if your user profile has it .
    When you go to
    -  application properties > General > Warning mesg for large reports(field) and
    -  change the default message ,
    -  hit save logout of the application ,
    -  log back in
    - go back to  application properties > General > Warning mesg for large reports(field) and
    Do you see the message you had entered in step 2 above?

    I installed OBIEE 11g 11.1.1.6 client on windows 7 machine and created a DSN also. When I launch the admin tool. I get "configuration error" message.

    For future readers, I was able to resolve this problem.  Here's how:
    For the "Configuration Error" dialog when doing a stand-alone 64-bit Windows client install, you need to go to the "C:\Program Files\Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition Plus Client\oraclebi\orahome\bifoundation\server\bin" directory, change the permissions to the "bi_init.cmd" file so you can edit it, and comment out the line that starts "set ORACLE_INSTANCE".  You'll get a new error dialog when you try to open the tool complaining that the ORACLE_INSTANCE variable is not set, but you can click through it and the tool will work fine.
    For the issue of RPD version 318 vs 320, you need to download the 11.1.1.6.2 version of the client, which has been released as a patch (it's really just a full install).  It's patch 13794002.

  • Itunes will not open b/c of Audio configuration error

    Itunes will not open. Get error saying "Itunes cannot run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration." Whats weird is that I haven't changed anything since I last used it (yesterday night). What should I do?

    I had the same problem and had just recently upgraded quicktime. When I followed the instructions on this thread I also made sure the version of Quicktime I installed matched my iTunes version. You might try that.
    It did work for me. I'm wondering if the update to Quicktime caused my problem.

    1. Launch previous version of iTunes, verify application opens.
    2. Agree to upgrade to latest version of iTunes.
    3. After installation, restart PC and launch application.
    EXPECTED RESULT:

    ACTUAL RESULT:
    iTunes does not launch; error "iTunes cannot be run because it has detected a problem with your audio configuration" is generated.
    NOTES:
    I changed nothing between when I last launched iTunes and when I upgraded to the new version. This error message is quite vague - does anyone have any clue what it means? Thanks.

    that's typically caused by a problem with your QuickTime. (itunes uses QuickTime for audio and video playback.)

  • When Audio Console launched, Unable to find audio device error message comes

    When I launch audio console, I get an error message saying:
    "Unable to find audio device. Please make sure that your audio device is enabled and installed with its driver. This application will be closed."
    This can't be right because my soundblaster audigy 2 ZS platinum card is installed, its working, I can hear things etc.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled the audio console software package from creative and that fixed the problem for a very short while and it is now reoccurring.
    I've had this same setup for several years with no issues, now all of a sudden, this is happening.
    Anyone out there had similar challenges?

    Most probably you don't have passed the correct root= option to the kernel so that the kernel cannot, as it says, find its root device. Read the wiki page about refind in order to know how to configure it (https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/REFInd). Refind as no fully automatic configuration like grub.

  • Audio Configuration Error

    When I try to open iTunes I receive an error message saying the audio configuration may not allow files to play. It then opens iTunes and I am unable to play any files. I have unistalled Quicktime and reinstall. Plese help. I want to hear my tunes.

    I installed the latest iTunes upgrade- 9.0.1.8. Have had the same problem since- no sound! iTunes will not play nor will any other media play sound.

    1. 'service mgr" click start by windows audio,
    2. uninstalling and re-installing iTunes and Quicktime, and other programs
    3. Removing Quicktime and re-installing without iTunes,
    4. Creating a new user account,
    5. Adding some files that apple support suggested to regsvr32 (whatever that is?).
    Nothing has worked.

    I have AA3 with a built-in Intel high definition audio card, and its drivers are up to date.
    When I start the program, the following error message appears: "The audio input is not activated. Recording audio is not possible. Please check your configuration."

    ...and since there's no way you'll get an ASIO driver for an internal sound device, the 'Release ASIO driver' message shouldn't make any difference to anything...
    One thing you might like to try though is the free ASIO4ALL driver, as a replacement for the 'Audition 3.0 Windows Sound' one. This has better diagnostics, and may give you more of a clue about what your sound device isn't doing. Just Google it - it's easy to find.

However other mp4 audio files from this same website do work correctly. What can I do to get all the the mp4 audio files to play directly from the same website?   • Continual Audio Configuration error

    Every time I open iTunes I get an error saying "iTunes has detected an audio configuration problem" I have downloaded Quicktime and that fixes it only for that session. If I close iTunes, or if I shut down my PC, the next time I open iTunes the error happens again. It is very frustrating! There must be a program that is conflicting somehow, but I don't know where to start. Anyone have any suggestions?

    I have done this 100 times! Downloading uninstalling and reinstalling Quicktime doesn't help. It only fixes it for that session. When I close iTunes and open it up again (without turning off PC), I get the configuration error.

    Recently purchased a refurbished 17" MacBook Pro - complete with 2.16GHz Intel Core Duo. Got all settled in, loaded up Final Cut Pro 4.0, clicked it and got the following message: "Configuration error: This software requires certain hardware or software which is missing".
    There is a bullet point with the words "AGP graphics card."
    I was under the impression that this computer was good to go out of the box for heavy graphics programs -- Final Cut, Photoshop CS, After Effects, etc.
    Did I go wrong? Do I need to put a graphics card in this computer, or is this an error message about which I should be concerned?

    As per my opinion, you cant configure messages in PS, similar to other modules like MM where can control whether a message has to be error or info etc.
    You may need development to address ur requirmment, may be u can share ur exact req with forum.
