Weird Behaviour, Won't Let Me Start a Call in Any ...

Question

I use Skype to converse with my business associates every day. Today, for some reason, I can't make a call or receive one. Skype or phone call - doesn't matter. When I try to place a call, I just get the call animation and it's stuck there. I can't hang up or anything and I end up killing Skype in task manager. When someone calls me, no matter how many times I click ACCEPT, nothing happens - it keeps on ringing until it gives up. The weirdest thing is that this affects both desktop and Metro Skype, with Metro version actin even more weird - can't bring up the right-click menu or even think about answering a call, making one or singing out.
I restarted my PC multiple times and I tried everything I could think of. My wife's Skype works with no problems on both of our PCs, so I gathered it could be my account that's faulty? Both Metro and desktop Skype are up to date.
I uploaded a video recording of me trying to end a call I tried to make, just to illustrate what I'm talking about.
Anyone got any suggestions?

Try to reset all Skype settings (desktop version only).
Quit Skype or use Windows Task Manager to kill any Skype.exe process. Go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %appdata% and then press Enter or click the OK button. The Windows File Explorer will pop up. There locate a folder named “Skype”. Rename this folder to something different, e.g. Skype_old.
Next go to Windows Start and in the Search/Run box type %temp%\skype and then press Enter or click the OK button. Delete the DbTemp folder.
Restart Skype.
N.B. If needed, you will still be able to re-establish your call and chat history. All data is still saved in the Skype_old folder.
