Weird : Database Hangs without any message in Alert File

Hi
We have production database 10.2.0 , in the last 3 days database database has to be restarted as it hangs without any information in the Alert File.
No trace file is genrated at that time.
Only SYS user Can LOGIN to the database.
I had no other option but to restart
Database is in NO ARCHIVE MODE
There is Enough Space in Temporary Tablespace and all other tablespace.
NO patches were applied to the database
NO parameters has been modified
When i check the CPU usage its normal.
There is Enough Disk Space.
This is procution and i apreciate Help.

What is the OS ? Windows --> Did you check virus scan or some other process running during that time ?
Unix / Linux --> Is sysadmin running a defrag on the disks or some other OS Utility ?
Do you login as SYS from the server ? Can you login as any other user from the server ?

Propagation Queue hanged without any error.

Hi All,
We have bi-directional replication using streams on 10g database.Last night propagation process hanged without any error in any of the queue.
We tried to restart it but propagation queue didnt stop.It just went into infinite loop.
Finally we have to kill the session.Then we restarted the database and everything worked fine.
Just curious what happened there is no error so far neither in the queue nor in alert log/trace files.
Please help!!!

If you have not patched to 10.2.0.4 that might be something to put on your radar sooner rather than later.

OBIEE 11.1.1.6 installation hangs without any error or warning

Hi all,
I'm trying to install OBIEE 11.1.1.6 on a previous 11.1.1.5 installation, on Windows Server 2003 Enterprise Edition. I followed the instructions on the "Oracle® Fusion Middleware Upgrade Guide for Oracle Business Intelligence 11g Release 1 (11.1.1)" manual, "Moving from 11.1.1.3 or 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.1.6" paragraph.
All checks give positive result but then installation hangs without any error or warning. I tried 3 times with the same behaviour.
Any suggestion? Anyone having similar problems?

The only error I get (in the Windows application event viewer) is:
[nQSError: 12002] Socket communication error at call=recv: (Number=10054) An existing connection was forcibly closed by the remote host

Web service hangs without any errors and exceptions

hi all,
We have a ejb application web service that is binded with shedular bc to trigger for every 2 hours
and it runs for one and half hours making continous transactions with database..
In the web service a outer for loop will be iterated by fetching list of data from database. And this list will be iterated in the inner for loop.
This logic works fine for sometime, but suddenly after some random period of time without any errors and exceptions the outer for loop gets no list from database
and the inner for loop is never executed and the web service completes processing.
This i can able to see form my log files.
i dont understand why the list is not fetched from the database, is the problem with hibernate or it lost the connection with database,
either case it has to throw exception but the service is not.
otherwise does this is garbage collector issue.

HPDM Update/Install Jobs on ThinClient ShutDown without any "Message"

Hello,
I want to send Update/Install jobs to our ThinClients which should be executed on "Shutdown" of the ThinClients.
There is the possibility to check the box task deferment but if I check this box and send the task to the ThinClient, the user gets always an HPDM Message with the Job which can be delayed for the configured time, or to install/reboot directly.
I dont want any informations. For example, I'll send a task to the thin client at 1pm and configure that this task sould run on shutdown of the thin client (normally the shutdown of the thinclient happens, if the user goes home from work), so the job can run after finishing time. So I won't disturb any users, and the jobs always runs after the user went home.
I know, I could plan a job with wake on lan, but I've always trouble with wol. There are a lot of thinclients which are connected via VPN or something else... A wol packet wont reach this clients.
Is it possible to send a "delayed" job without any informations ?

I have posted a thread regarding the same issue.
I have run the update myself (both for WinDVD Playback v5 & WinDVD Creator v3) from the System Update utility.
Both reported as installed successfully on the System Update "Installed Updates" log though the update for WinDVD Creator v3 keeps showing up on the available updates.
The version i currently have is version 3 so i guess the update went through, the path: C:\Program Files\InterVideo\WCreator3 - so y does it keep popping up on the available updates?

Dynamic config for attachment without any message mapping in mail adapter

In our scenario, we are not using any message mapping as a specification.A fixed length file is sent from source via proxy as an attachment to the mail.
here the issue is with the file name of the attachment. how do we configure the attachment file name dynamically with out using any message maping.

Database restore without temp, undo and control files.

Hi All,
You might found this question silly but I don't know so asking this question here.
I have cold back up of the database. Now, I want create clone of that database, but I have some different paths for the DBFs so I will create new control file after restoring the database.
Now, I know that I don't need control files and tempfiles to be restored. I have 10 undo files in backup but on the new clone database I don't need all 10. I want only 5. So can I do the restoration without undo , temp and control file and later on add undo and temp?? and if yes then tell me that can I add them at mount level??
This is my first restore, Please guide me its very urgent

I am completely agree with you that with given scenario for the cold backup undo tablespace would not be part of recovery and you can
-offline drop undo tablespace file
-create another one undo tablespace and its undo datafile
-point spfile to that newly undo tablespace
I think Aman is saying in the context of restore and recover online database where undo tablespace create a vital role in database recovery, the undo blocks roll back the effects of uncommitted transactions previously applied by the rolling forward phase.

It's actually a non harmful bug, Since 10gR1 the parameter MAXTRANS is obsoleted but master table of data pump is created with it.

PROBLE WHILE RENDERING IN CC While as In CS renders without any issue the same file from same location but tried 3 CC ,machine and have the same issue.

I just installed for my users 5 Machines with Adobe CC and they are all crashing while rendering to QT H264.
while in cs6 it renders the same file in the same location without any issue.

I can't really read the error appearing in the screenshot you shared. Is the application fully up to date?
Have you read: After Effects CC 2014 - removal of H.264, MPEG-2, WMV, FLV, F4V, and SWF exporters - WHY !?
This might also be an explanation, as i believe you are trying to use h.264 right?

WL510 startup hangs without any error messages.

I have installed WebLogic 510 on a Sun Sparc with Solaris 5.7
following WebLogic installation guide(which I have used to
successfully install other similar machines). We are using
JDK 1.2.2_06(with the three necessary OS patches installed).
When I try to start WebLogic from command line(see below)
using script, it just hangs and sits there without giving any
error messages. Is there anything obvious that I have missed?

Ifs Exception without any message

Hi,
I have a method which tries to retrieve an object from the ifs and updates some attributes on the object and commits it.
An exception as below is thrown intermitently, not sure what exactly is the reason, since the iFS exception message does not contain enough info.
oracle.ifs.common.IfsException: IFS-68004: Message unavailable: :3802628
Could you please let me know what exactly does the above error msg indicate, any clue on what exactly could be the problem ?

I believe the error is documented in the javadoc for the IfsFileSystem class. The documentation states:
"throws IfsException(68004) - if folderPath is not found
So that means that the path you're passing as an argument to one of the methods is not correct.
If you put the following line of code at the top of your program:
IfsException.setVerboseMessage(true);
and then catch the IfsException and print its stack trace, you will probably get more information. If you're still stuck, please post this stack trace and we'll take a look.

Device rebbot without any message

I can't find where it comes from but I have problems with one update that
makes devices to reboot with any warning.
Does someone haveing the same issue ?
If yes, what update(s) make the device to reboot ?

Application launches and immediately quits without any message

I have an old powerbook G4 which I use for only one purpose- to run Mathcad 6 in the Classic environment. (Mathsoft discontinued supporting Macs many years ago so I'm stuck.)
Today I started it up, launched Mathcad, it flashes its startup window then disappears and I'm back in OS X. Other Classic applications run OK.
I seem to remember this happening many years ago with an application, but cannot at all remember what it took to fix it. This particular application has been running flawlessly for me, but now I can't get it to do anything more than flash the startup screen for a second and then quit.
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

Func. module- RS_VARIANT_DELETE to be executed without any messages

My program has a selection-screen option to enter the range of variants and I am capturing all the variants to be deleted based on necessary conditions into an internal table and passing it to the function module RS_VARIANT_DELETE to delete those entries in the system and displaying an alv list report for the ones deleted with their numbers. It's working fine, but after the alv report displays, it is throwing an information message saying Variant 'xxx' is deleted and here 'xxxx' is only the last entry in the internal table. I want to ignore this message and do not want this to be displayed in the output. Please suggest a way to do that

Variant & is deleted is the Status Message. If you have the settings on to show Status message as information message, you will see this message as Info message. It can be found at GUI Options > Interaction Design > Notification > Show Success message in Dialog box
