Weird DHCP problem for one laptop on AE network

Hi. I am trying to get into the internet using a MacBook Pro over an Airport Extreme network. I am able to log into the network fine but then an error message appears stating that there is a problem with IP Configuration, specifically: "192.168.1.115 is in use by 00:01:eb:32:a1:f5". Airport on the laptop is setup to use DHCP, however, and is not set manually to a specific IP. Other laptops with identical setup do not have this problem on this network. And the SAME MacBook Pro works just fine on other AE networks... just not on this one. The owner of the computer upgraded from an iBook that had the same problem so I believe the issue migrated along with the user's settings, etc. I have tried deleting preferences related to Airport but no success so far. Any ideas on where the corrption might be living?

It sounds like one of your network preferences files is corrupt. I suggest you try the following:
- Copy the file "com.apple.airport.preferences.plist" from the /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration folder to your Desktop.
- Delete the file located in the /SystemConfiguration folder.
- Log out, and then log back in.
- A new preference file will be built by OS X.
- You will need to reenter your AirPort settings.
If this doesn't help, two other preferences files can be tried: NetworkInterfaces.plist & preferences.plist, both located in the same folder as the one you did earlier.

Report exection problem for one user - not able to see the data.

Unfortunately , I am also not having authorisation of that report due to sensible data.
Problem - User is executing the report but some how he is not ABLE TO see the data for one company code Hierachy .
I executed the same report through RSSMQ via his user id , and I got the below message.
All value were selected . Hierachy Authorisation cannot be used.
A displayed hierachy requier a hierachy authorisation .
But when i checked his authorisation , I am able to see that he should have authorisation to all the hireachy .
could you please let me know , how can I check more ?

after accessing the report , u go to su53 tcode and check the authorization and u can see what is problem in authorization for the that user and u can send the details to secuity team to rectify the issue ,

Language problem for one user

Hi experts,
In KM we created a folder for BW report links. The user start the report and the BW report is shown in the language selected in the IE settings (SAP user language is empty). This works fine, but for one user the BW reports always displayed in French. I set the SAP user language to English (the welcome text is English, portal menu is English etc), but the reports are still displayed in French. Cache are emptied, tried another pc, change IE langaue to English, but still the same problem.
When I check the source, the next 2 lines are always ending with xx_fr.js instead of xx_en.js or another selected langauge

Telnet GUI client giving problems for one userid.

I have written a GUI program to get userid and password to connect to a Telnet session. The purpose of the program is just to check if the user is a valid user and start another application if the user is a valid user. This application works well and is installed for manay users at my work place. But, this program doesn't work well only for one user. That user tried to use this program by changing is password. He tried to login using this GUI in other terminals. Only this user is having problems logging in in any terminal. But, he is able to open a telnet session without any problems if he doesn't use the GUI. I tried to print the characters that are returned by the server. But, it prints all the characters without any problem. The application hangs at the point, when it has to read the $ prompt after logging in. I also, checked if this user has been set with any other properties for his userid than other users. But, he is having the same privelages like all other users.
Any help in fixing this problem is appreciated.

You need to be more specific about what your program does, for us to suggest some troubleshooting techniques.
One possibility:
Your program takes the user's id and password, and if it can authenticate the user, it launches the telnet program (at which point, your user needs to authenticate himself again at telnet's login prompt. In other words, your program provides access to telnet.
If that is the case, then your user may have changed his password on the remote host, but neglected to change his password on the GUI. I doubt this is the case, but the point I wanted to make is perhaps your GUI is having problems authenticating the user.
Check to make sure the string the user typed matches the string you have on file. (See below for more on this.)
The other possibility is:
Your GUI takes the user's id and password, launches a telnet session, and tries to log in the user via proxy. If it works, the telnet session
is returned back to the user. If it fails, an appropriate error message is returned. Your program is essentially a front end to telnet.
If that is the case, then you're likely to have a problem transmitting the password string. Perhaps the user's new password has a character Java and telnet interpret differently.
First thing to check is literally have your GUI output the string to the telnet session. Don't ask the user to type it in, just ask him what it is. If the password is "fido" (hypothetically), then have your GUI do the equivalent of out.write( "fido" );
If it bombs, you know you can't transmit that particular string, and the short term solution is to change the password again. If it works, have the user type in the password, but instead of sending it to telnet, just system.out.println( inputtedPassword ); instead. See if Java does any unintentional formatting when reading it in.
In other words, treat input and output as two seperate cases, and test accordingly.
When you think about it, that particular password is the key. In fact, if you told us what the password is (don't tell us who you are or where you're connecting from), some Java Guru might see it and say "Oh, you can't do a double backslash like that!"
Anyways, I'm sure you've solved the problem, I just posted this explaination for the benefit of others who are curious about how to troubleshoot something like this.

ALV grid Refresh problem for one user

Have an ALV with editable columns. Validation and save works for all columns for one user but not for the other. The user with the issue is able to modify the values and save to the database fine.The problem is it doesn't display in the ALV once refreshed. Please suggest any ideas of how to look into this issue as it works for one and not other user.

Strange work for one user not for other.
Once you save the data, rebind the data to table. so that new data will display. ( that use set_initial_elements as true, so that old values not display ).

Why does wireless work for one laptop and not the other?

I have two laptops:
1) MacBook: 10.4.8, Airport Exteme (Firmware 1.0.46)
2) G4: 10.3.9, Airport Extreme (405.1 (3.90.0.p18)
I have the two machines sitting right next to each other in my apartment. Machine #1 has full wireless signal strength. Machine #2 barely has any wireless signal. Neither is running Interference Robustness. Any ideas why one would work and the other would not, or suggestions as to how to debug this problem?
I have tried stopping and restarting the Airport Extreme card on machine #2. I have also tried power cycling machine #2. This does not fix the problem.
A little more history: for a long time I was having problems with machine #2 dropping the wireless connection. As part of trying to work around these problems I turned on Interference Robustness on machine #2. This fixed the dropping signal problem, but left me with weak signal strength. I shut off Interference Robustnes but ever since then the signal has still been weak on machine #2.
Mac Mini Duo 1.66 GHz, 2 GB Mac OS X (10.4.6)

The base station uses a single channel which all clients must use to connect.
Have you checked the antenna connection into the card? Many people are surprised about how far the wire is actually supposed to be pushed into the card. Compare the connection with the photos in KB 108039, Properly attaching the antenna on an AirPort Extreme Card.

I ordered one on the first day they made them available, and
still haven't received it. So, I doubt there are many folks that
have access to the OLPC. I will say that it runs a version of
Linux, and Flash player 9 is available for Linux. Whether or not it
runs, how well it works, or if it's installed by default, I don't
know. A better place to ask may be to the foundation itself.

POP3 and IMAP problem for one user

Hi All,
One of my users has recently connected her iPhone4 to our GW7. We set her up just like numerous other of our users, and she is having some issues. When set up as IMAP using the default application on her iPhone, she can see all her folders and all her mail up to December 21, 2011, but nothing after that. If she asks to download more messages, it successfully shows earlier messages, but still nothing more recent than December. When set up as POP, she is able to download recent messages, but there are wide gaps in what she can see. Whole days are missing. I can send her a new message, and she can POP it right away, but messages that came in just hours before will not come over. None of our other users have any such issues--including at least one with the same iPhone.
The user swears that she has no other e-mail program POPing mail--and even if she did, I don't think it would explain the IMAP issue--but I may be wrong about that. This user does have an incredibly large online mail account--over 20,000 messages in her Mailbox folder alone. I have examined her POA indexes, and they show nothing un-indexed.
I have used my own phone (Droid Bionic) to connect to her GWise account and I see the same behavior from her account.
We are using GWIA 7.0.2, and I can see her phone making connections successfully. I see no errors, but I have not yet studied a Verbose display when she connects.
Any suggestions about how to proceed to troubleshoot this?
What could I do if I wanted to reset whatever information her account stores as to what messages have been POP'ed off or to reset whatever info about IMAP is maintained?

My understanding is as you raise it, the memory usage of the POA and the
CPU hit on the POA will increase. It's been explained to me that the
IMAP standard requires certain correlations and bufferings to made
between the different items, so the memory usage increases. (IMAP is
fairly complex, so I doubt I can explain it all since I doubt I
understand it all). For example IMAP requires synthetic UIDS to be
correct for all the items in the mailbox during the session. There is
room for improvement here, but it hasn't been a super-high priority is
what I was told just this past BrainShare. It will never be a completely
low memory "streaming" kind of solution though - a lot of state has to
be built and maintained during the IMAP session.
POP, I'm not sure about. I do know GW can get confused. Have her specify
her pop UserID differently. For example if her normal gwmailbox is
jsmith, have her try jsmith:v=2 .

User ID Login Options
With POP3 clients, users can add the options listed in the table below
to the login name (GroupWise user ID) to control management of their

l=1-1000
The l option limits the number of messages to download for each POP3
session. For example, if you want to limit the number of messages to 10,
you enter l=10. If this option is not used, the default value is 100
messages.

OS X DHCP problem for Windows client

I have DHCP server running on my mac OS X Mountain Lion and all my user client (they all are using macbook) are able to access the network by IP address given by this DHCP.
Unfortunatly, any Windows 7 or Windows client can't get DHCP. Appreciate a help.

Downloaded mavericks for one mac can i use the same download to install on another mac

I have downloaded for 12 hours initial installation on one mac for mavericks, and all installed successfully. Rather than download again for another mac, can I use the same download and copy on to the other mac..and if yes, where will I find it?

All you need to do is go to System Preferences > App Store and uncheck the automatic install of updates box, then download the Mavericks installer, and copy to a flash drive. You will need a flash drive of 8 G B or more since the installer is around 5.3 GB. The installer will be in Finder > Applications. You can then copy that flash drive installer to the Applications folders in all the Macs you have that are capable of running Mavericks, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5842.
When the installer runs, the last step in the installtion is for the installer to erase itself. So makng a copy before the installer runs is essential if you want to avoid redownloading.
Installing from the same installer does not cause problems for Macs on the same network.

but it is giving error "The field "W_DATE1" is unknown, but there is a field with the similar name "DATE1" . . . ."
actually that value is coming after triggering PBO event but i want that value in at time of calling F4 help at that screen filed
suppose on screen the fields like

matnr : ( .............F4 ) '".....on this field when i m pressing F4 that time only that above date materials should come as per my first query see my first thread.

WAD Help: Need for one dropdown to control two characteristic InfoObjects

All,
I have a dashboard built in WAD that contains several charts. There are several data providers and I have created a few simple dropdowns to apply filters. Here lies my problem:
For one specific characteristic, "business unit", in one data provider the InfoObject is "0material_zgbu"(nav attribute of 0material). In another data provider, the InfoObject is "0prft_ctr_zgbu" (nav attribute of 0prft_ctr).
What is the best way to make the dropdown selection apply a filter to both characteristics? Can I force a dropdown to control two characteristics?
Should I create a hidden dropdown to control the 2nd and somehow pass the selected value to it using code?
Any help or advice will be greatly appreciated.

(fyi.... I am using version 2004s)

If you feel both Drop Down Boxes will have Same values... then you can display only one Drop Down Box. Once you select any Value, you can trigger a command which will display values for both Data Providers.
Let me know if you need any further explanation.
Note: this will work only if both Drop Down Boxes has same Charecterstics Values.

How to resolve DHCP problem in Oracle for Cent OS

Hi everyone,
I want to install Oracle 10g on my new linux os CentOS. At very first step of system check, it warns me about having DHCP enabled and to use some static IP insted.
I have already done loads of installation on my windows box so I know how to deal with DHCP by using Microsoft Loopback Adapter.
But I dont know if there is any Loopback adapter available for Linux ? I have tried already to google but it seems that its really difficult to find the correct installation methods because most of "How tos" just ignore the fact that , web interface of EM won't work well with DHCP ( as far as i know :D ).
So, is there any work around for this DHCP problem ? I mean linux version of microsoft loopback adapter !!! ... Also do I need to say that , its my laptop and I use it on various networks including starbucks and DD ;) ... so I guess , I can't go for configuring static ip for my physical card. my knowledge for linux is a bit primitive so it will be really appreciated if you can provide me step by step instructions.
BTW, regardless of warning i have installed Oracle 10g, and as i had expected .... Web Interface of EM gave me an age old error ( web page not found ) when I restarted my laptop... which is because of DHCP.

But this does not solve my problem. I dont know weather you guys know or not , CentOS is EXACTLY same as RHEL other then "support" thing. So I dont see any reason to switch from CentOS to RHEL. Another reason is , I have already installed CentOS on my separate partition , so I dont want to go to through all of that again :D .
And even if i think to change to OEL( i have downloaded it already ) or RHEL , problem still exists ... " DHCP " ... how do i deal with it ??

a fixed IP address is preferable but if you need DHCP for some reason just do the install, build your database, and then modify the listener.ora and tnsnames.ora to point to 127.0.0.1 for the host. , I know I need fixed IP, but if I am installing it on my laptop and just for study purpose, Its really not useful to setup static IP and as i wrote in OP, life of student is very adventurous and we never stay at one place right ? so, its not possible to have static IP for me ( unless i use it with VMWare or something like that ) .... now question is, what is this 127.0.0.1 ip you are talking about ? Do i need to add it into HOST file ? A little brief explanation will be helpful here :) ... this stuff is damn easy with windows and i am sure that linux should have have work around of DHCP. I am writing LINUX , instead of going in to specific flavor because i think the solution will be same only the method will change, right ? .
I also looked at the link David posted here , (to be honest , I have not gone through all OSes setup help ) , I can not find even a line mentioning about DHCP Problem. May be I am missing something , David can you point me exact link (if there is any) ?
Any more suggestions guys ?

TS3276 I have recently had a problem with one of my hotmail accounts, some sort of virus sending random emails to people in my address book. Hotmail advised me to change my password for that account, which I did. Why won't mail recognise the new password?

Hotmail advised me to delete all contacts and change the password for that account, which I did on my laptop running windows XP. The change was successful and I was able to send and receive emails with no problem. I then had to change the account password on my iPhone 4s, which I did and it too was successful but when I came to change the password on my iMac, running the latest version of Lion it would not recognise the new password. I have tried to remove the account details and re-install but every time I go to add new account my old details are in the box. This is very frustrating as I use my iMac for all my profects and I need to access my email. Please help.

I had already deleted all reference to the hotmail account in question from the keychain access app, I have also tried to delete and re-instal the account details from within mail. The icon in the side bar dissapears but when I go to Add Account, the old account details are in the new account box. I then input my new password but am told that the server does not recognise it. If I access hotmail via google on the iMac I can get into my account with no problems. I am thinking there must be some other form of security system within the mac software that is blocking the new password. This is driving me nuts. I have been trying to resolve this for the last two days. Thank you for your advise anyway.
