Weird Flash Rendering

If you view this in firefox, youll see weird outlines of my box = > http://www.thelodgeatcamdenhills.com/
No idea why its happening, its the latest version of flash. Its like a bitmap is being rendered wrong and your seeing the debug outlines

I'm not sure what you mean when you say outlines. It appears the same in IE and Firefox for me, except that the Firefox one has what would appear to be vetical guidlines showing up at the bottom of the blue area, extending a little below it.

Flash rendering slows on Win 7 = 2GB RAM

Our running platformer game has some issues with Flash rendering, I guess.
It is a run and jump game with fully animated character and 4 layers of parallax background.

The background consists of 4 layers:
1) one 700 x 400 JPG Background (most bottom layer, not moving)
2) two (at least) 700 x 400 PNG for second depth (parallax background, that's why there's we use two bitmaps)
3) another two (at least) 700 x 400 PNG for third depth (also a parallax background)
4) another two (at least) 700 x 400 PNG for fourth depth (also a parallax background)
Each bitmap is told to move, so we have a total of 6 bitmaps moving at the same time on each EnterFrame.
I used SWFProfiler to check out the stats and they're very good. Running the game at 30 FPS will get a stable 29.xx - 30.xx FPS gameplay, but there seems to be a lag when rendering.
This does not happen on 2GB Win XP machine or Win 7 machines with memory >= 3 GB.
However running the game on Win 7 machines with memory <= 2 GB would result a laggy background update (clogged / jitter).
The minimum requirement to run Win 7 properly by itself is 2GB so I'm guessing this issue is due to lack of memory.
We have created like 10 games now but no case like this happens before. Well, mainly that's because we have not created anything like this before. What do you guys think? Is there a solution to this except adding more RAM?

Why does the Retina Screen on MBPR2013 make a Weird Flash when I have a External Display via HDMI hooked up?

I just bought a new 2013 early MACBOOK PRO RETINA. When i have an external Display hooked up via the HDMI port, I noitce when I wake the computer UP it has a Different type OF QUICK FLASH that comes up than when there is nothing hooked up so I don't know if that makes sense to anyone, but its very disturbing to me, it makes me wonder if there is something wrong with the HDMI PORT ????? Has anyone else experienced this or knows if this is NORMAL behavior of the new RETINA displays or the HDMI port makes it FLASH weird upon WAKE UP??? I have unplugged the HDMI and when I do the SCREEN comes up normally it just blinks on. But when HDMI is used its light lightening stike. Don't know how else to explain it, maybe i need to do a video and Post a video.

One more disturbing thing. When the screen on my MBP goes black and I check the system preferences for "Displays", the MacBook Pro display is not presented as an existing display. Only the still-functioning Apple 20" Cinema Display.
Where did it go??

Weird flash cs3 bug help!

Hi ANybody help me on this?
All of a sudden I lost a file I had been working onlast
night, it was still there but when i opened it it was last saved
some 12 hours before my final save of the day. Thought that was it
and then i found something else, when flash is not open, I click on
a file to launch the software and it causes the finder to crash /
relaunch! But if i open the software and then open it its OK and
works.. another weird thing is when i look at the icon of the flash
.fla in the finder it appears as a small volume slider like a .mp3!
now that really is scary! I tried to reinstall and no changes
there, all i can expect to try next is a complete system reinstall?
any ideas.

As long as I'm understanding the issue correctly, this is a long standing "Flashism" (not saying it's right or desirable, but something that has required a workaround for a very long time). See if you can use nesting to get around the issue (the animation will restart when keyframes are encountered), I'll send this issue in for review. It's possible it has something to do with Player, although I can't find any concrete information on this to know for sure.

Chromium weird font rendering

Hey,
i was wondering if anyone else has the same problem with chromium font rendering,
i already tried setting the .Xresources as stated on wiki, but it didnt seem to take
effect.
I also tried the fonts.conf from this thread: https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=130572
but with no results, what i get is this:

Weird flash and dim in QT after FCE export

Hi everyone,
Occasionally, my movies will export with strange effects like when still picture will dim after a little while on screen (similar to laptop dimming due to energy saver settings) and a hard cut to another picture with flash with white even if I do not have a transition in place. What gives?
p.s. I have rendered everything until there are no more check marks left to click, I have messed around a little with frame rates and keyframes and I have saved and I don't know what to do next.

You don't really have to. Exporting is kinda the same as rendering. Only thing is that if you do not render before export, FCP does not 'remember' this rendering.
If you think you'll needs parts of the render files later, you might render first.
Others in this forum do deliberately throw away the renders before they export, in order to avoid artifacts. Personally I prefer to see rendered footage before I export. I can see what I am sending to the export-application then. Haven't have any trouble so far.
So. It's up to you.

Weird Flash Video Problem

Hello,
I've just got my first MacBook Pro and I have a weird problem with Flash Player. I have Snow Leopard 10.6.4, everything up to date, and I have a problem when watching movies. The problem is current in both Chrome and Safari, but only with 10.1. I have tried several 10.1 versions and they all do the same thing: from 2 to 2 minutes, the video pauses for 2-3 seconds while audio keeps on playing normally. Version 10.1.103.19 in Chrome does the same thing, 10.1.102.64 same, but 10.0.45 is working perfectly.
I appreciate any help on the matter as nobody seems to know what the problem might be, and nothing seems to fix this.

Try to disable Hardware Acceleration (Flash Player Settings).

Weird flash plugin behaviour

Hello guys and girls.
Recently I switched back from catalyst to the opensource driver. Everything worked fine after that.
Now I updated my system a week ago and for some reason my flash player behaves weirdly since then.
When I got 2 or more tabs open and all of them having flash active, flash stops displaying correctly when I close one of them.
Is this a known problem? I couldn't find any posts mentioning this, so I thought I should post a topic here.

I've been having flash issues lately too, although different ones from yours. Flash videos on lots of sites refuse to go fullscreen. sometimes they will go fullscreen once, but if I unfullscreen and try again it will be broken until I restart firefox. youtube is the only site it works reliably on. I resolved my issues by using chromium and chromium-pepper-flash, which is far more up to date and less buggy than flash 11.2

Flash rendering order off screen

Hi,
I have a series of simple flash movies (each is a separate swf) on a website that render and then upload to a PHP script.
When the movies are not on the visible screen (i.e. the window is minimized, screensaver is on or the movie is simply below the visible screen area) the rendering and upload speed of the movie greatly reduces (up to 20x slower).
Does flash player automatically give processor/memory precedence to movies that are visible?
If it does, is there any way to tell it to not do this and render all movies on the page regardless of how visible they are?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

We've had similar difficulties and discovered that the window settings for Flash CS3 are read from an XML file named "workspacelayout.xml" found in the following path on a Windows XP workstation:
C:\Documents and Settings\WINDOWS_USER_NAME\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\Flash CS3\LANGUAGE_CODE\Configuration
(Note that WINDOWS_USER_NAME should be replaced with the user name having the trouble, and LANGUAGE_CODE be replaced with an appropriate language code. "en" is the language code for US English.)
In that file, there is a tag similar to:
<application maximize="false" rect="0 0 1083 839"/>
Simply set attribute "rect" to something representing an easy to find rectangle (preferably on monitor 1 if multiple monitors are enabled).
For example:
<application maximize="false" rect="0 0 100 100"/>
... will cause the flash application window open with upper-left corner at (0,0) and lower-right corner at (100,100) on monitor 1. Note that Flash should not be running when making this change.
When Flash closes, it also writes it's last window coordinates to the registry under:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ADOBE\Flash 9\Settings]
"Window"="0 0 100 100"
However, our tests indicate that it does not use the registry values on startup (if the workspacelayout.xml file is found).
We did discover that deleting the entire HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ADOBE\Flash 9\ registry key did indeed reset the window layout, among many other settings.

Weird font rendering glitch in firefox

Notice how every occurrence of "ff" and "ft" look weird.

You can do a font substitution for Calibri. I made the change for all users. Before anyone does this they might check, from the command line, what font is being used for Calibri: 'fc-match Calibri'

Weird flashing problem - cannot rename any file or folder in Movies

I have a problem affecting just my Movies folder. Whenever I view it in the Finder, the edge of the Finder window will flash once every four seconds. If I am trying to rename an item within the Movies folder when the flash happens, I get dumped out of the name editor and the file or folder is given the partially-typed name.
It only happens when I'm viewing the Movies folder in the Finder. Any ideas?

What do you mean by "flashing"? Can you post a video or photos for us to see?

Weird flash issue in firefox 3

hi i recently installed firefox 3 (for mac os x) and have
noticed a very strange issue in it with one of the sites i have
built. basically, if I go to the site 'hidden' in FF3 the site
(which is a flash movie) appears as intended, but if i type in
'hidden' when the page loads the flash movie shrinks to a very tiny
size (about 100 pixels, when it should be 800x600) at the top of
the screen. i have not encountered this before and no other flash
site i have made has this problem. i have not encountered this in
any other browsers as yet either. has anyone else encountered this
before, or know how to solve it? many thanks

Okay i was looking fo some back up drives online, and i stumbled upon:

but for some reason on my MacPro 2.66 the font renders odd in FireFox (doenst do it on Safari. and ive tried this exact sit eon my MacBookPro and it looks fine on Firefox.
I have the following installed (on both machines)

-Adobe CS2
-Macromedia Studio 8
theyre practically identical with programs & fonts installed, the only fonts that are installe are the ones that wer epreinstalled with the system, and that came with Office 04 and CS2

hey! well i tried your site url on my MacPro and i have the same issue, so it must be a macpro thing? lol
im running the latest firefox and no additional fonts installed other than the ones you have listed yourself (office, cs2, macromedia)
so dont fret. i tried using font finangler and onyx to clean the font cache, (not sure i fhtat was a good idea,) but it shows up on mine so your not the only one! ive tried on two different macpros one wiht out any programs and it does the same thing. so it must be something with the wya its rendering on these machines.
at first it hought maybe something got corrupted in my system aswell

CF Flash rendering

My cfflash from renders at 1 web address, but the same form
does not render through a different web address. They are the exact
same form, on the exact same website, you just get to it by 2
different web addresses. And there is a clock that keeps turning
and it will not render the drop down menu. These two are the same
exact page, I am on a shared server and host multiple sites.

I have uploaded my cfid folder into that directory, but it
does not work. I am on a shared hosting account, so I have no
access to the administrator control panel. How do I map to the cfid
without that control.

Weird flash problem

When i convert my .tga sequence from 3dmax to a .swf in adobe
after effects and then import into Dreamweaver I get these two
weird purple or blue lines in my video. The photos look good out of
3dmax. They look fine in After Effects. But once I render to swf
and import those lines pop up. here is a link to a picture of my
