Weird font issue in iTunes store

After upgrading to Mountain Lion, my itunes in my macbook pro retina start displaying gibberish in itunes....

all the
small type displays as strange nonsense characters.
Some mail messages also show the strange high-bit
characters where normal text should be. I don't know
which font might be causing this.
The most common cause of such problems is the font Times Phonetic. If you have it, dump it.
If you like, send a screen shot for verification (tom at bluesky dot org).

  • Issues in iTunes Store with iTunes for Mac

Couple issues related to Browse Mode in iTunes Store. Does anyone else find these very annoying?
    1. The Back Button in iTunes Store goes back to main Music Screen instead of back to the browser where you left off. Extremely annoying...
    2. In browse mode, when you click on an album and bring it up, you cannot listen to any song from the song list without leaving browse mode, hense, problem number 1 above applies again...
    Any solutions?
    Thanks,
    Jaxmanjoe

This is a question a number of people have asked: this thread poses a solution (which I haven't tried) -
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=8888059&#8888059
I would be cautions recommending his suggestion to amend the actual feed file - you would do this by adding an 'itunes:author' tag in the top section - because if you do this it will be overwritten on the next publish, so you will have to keep doing it. If his method within iTunes doesn't work please do post back.
You won't get an instant result in the Store, so the way to check is to carry out his method, publish, then control-click on the 'subscribe' button and choose 'download linked file' or equivalent. Then drag this file to the TextEdit icon and look for the itune:author tag in the top section (before the first 'item' tag).

  • ITunes store app on iPhone is freezing when iTunes match is on. Is anyone also having this issue?, iTunes store app on iPhone is freezing when iTunes match is on. Is anyone also having this issue?

Since I installed 5.1.1 every time I access the iTunes store app from my iPhone and iPad the iTunes store freezes. I cannot browse or purchase from the store. It freezes then closes out. I think it is linked to when My iTunes match is activated on my OS devices. I was on the phone with apple tech support for an hour, no help. Anyone else having connectivity issues with the iTunes store app from either the iPhone on iPad? If so were u able to fix it?

Please note i have tried turning off the phone, different card, it is not a bank issue and i have tried signing in and out of itunes

  • Auto login issues to iTunes Store password incorrect

Running Windows 7 with iTunes 11.  When I open iTunes and it attempts to auto login I get an error message that my password is incorrect (see image below). I can type in the correct password and everything works fine until I close iTunes and reopen it, then I get the same error.  Steps I have tried to resolve issue: 1) Logged out of iTunes, 2) deauthorized this computer and reauthorized it, 3) Reset warnings and cache.  All to no avail.

When you change your USER ID (which is generally your E-MAIL), Itunes for some reason gets confused... Any apps, music etc. purchased off the itunes store before you made the change still bring up the original USER ID to update, authorize etc. So if you try and enter the password without changing to the new user ID, even if the account is technically the same, you're going to get "incorrect password" or "can not connect to itunes" or possibly "account doesn't exist". I found this out the hard way when I upgraded from XP to Windoze 7.

  • Solution for font problem using iTunes store (iTunes 9 @ Vista)

For all those of you who experience font problems rendering the iTunes store (I got partly jibberish many letters rendered as squares). For me it turned out that
my Arial fonts were corrupted (there were other files with the same font names residing in my Windows font directory). Deleting all Arial and installing them new from another Vista machine solved the problem.
I got to analyze the problem as follows: the rendering of the iTunes 9 store is done by the webkit. This reads a list of available fonts with files names from the registry and stores it in the file C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\WebKit\FontsList.plist (do not edit, it is generated each time you start iTunes anew). If you compare (e.g., using diffdaff) this file to the one of a Vista computer that does not show the font problem, you pretty soon realize which font family might cause the problem for you. For me it was Arial (which is used by Windows as a substitution for the Helvetica fonts BTW).

You can try to download items one at a time to get rid of this error message. Follow these steps for such:
    1) Open iTunes.
    2) From the Store pull-down menu at the top, choose Check for Purchases.
    3) Enter your account name and password, then click Check. Your purchases should begin downloading.
    4) Under the STORE section on the left, click Downloads.
    5) Click the Pause All button in the lower-right corner. This will temporarily pause all of your downloads.
    6) To resume only one of the downloads, click the refresh button that appears to the right of one of the paused downloads.
If that doesn't help, you may want to consider performing the following to be sure no software is conflicting with iTunes:
1.) Disable all anti-virus software you may have running
2.) Disable all firewall software you may have running
3.) Disable all web acceleration software you may have running
4.) If you are connected to the internet via an internet router, please disconnect it and connect directly via your broadband modem
    Hope this helps =)

  • Issue loading itunes store

I am no longer able to load itunes store.  I tried the steps in the help.  I am not sure what else to try, there are albums I want to buy!
It tries to connect, but nothing loads.

    Update safari.

  • Somebody please help me with adjusting the font size for itunes on my pc. The font in the itunes store is to small for me to read.

I can't find a way to adust the font size when I am in itunes on my pc. I know how to adjust the display setting, but that seems to be an overkill. I don't need to use the largest font size all the time. Surely there must be a simple way to just adust only what I need to in itunes.

You are not addressing Apple here. We are all just users like yourself.
First,  log into your account on a computer and go to your purchase history and look for charges.
    Next contact iTunes if necessary

  • Really Weird Font Issues...

I'm not sure what happened, but I keep seeing a certain font on different webpages I visit and in Word documents that I am viewing. This font isn't set in the document or on the webpage at all. Is there some sort of CSS Style Sheet or default font that you can set for the OS? I don't have the issue with my laptop. Just my desktop and its driving me insane! I thought it was just a Safari issue, but I can see the same font when I'm working in Word. Please help.
    Jeffrey Visgaitis

oh and being in my pocket is just an example of the phone going in to sleep mode...it also does it at night etc. Essentially, just an extended period (over 10 minutes) of not being used.

  • Changing font size in iTunes store and iTunes

Is there a way I can do this? It would be nice if there were a command+ or something along those lines. I'd also like to do the same with the iTunes list. Although I have the large font enabled, it's not that comfortable to read.
    Thanks:)

I am not sure if you can change that, but you could try adjusting the monitor resolution to make toolbars appear bigger.
To do this, go to System Preferences > Displays. Under resolution, select one smaller than your current one. The current one will be selected in the list.

  • Weird font issues transitioning from KDE to GTK apps

I'm having some strange issues happening between programs. Firefox and Pidgin, two GTK apps, can render kanji symbols fine. However, if I attempt the same in Konqueror or Konsole, they render as boxes.
Clearly I have the right fonts. What do I do to make Konqueror read them properly?

    Justin, Try the following:
    1) Quit all open applications.
    2) If you have 'Helvetica Fractions', 'Times Phonetic' or 'Rougue Stencil-Type' fonts installed, delete them.
    3) Delete your fonts caches with *Font Finagler*, FontNuke or OnyX +(or with whatever utility you normally use)+
*Font Finagler <http://homepage.mac.com/mdouma46/fontfinagler/> (this is the BEST utility)*
    FontNuke <http://www.jamapi.com/pr/fn/>
    OnyX <http://www.titanium.free.fr/pgs/english.html>
    4) Restart your Mac
    5) Open your Font Book->Edit menu 'Select All' fonts - from the File menu select 'Validate Fonts'
from the Edit menu select 'Resolve Duplicates'
    Good luck,

  • Weird Font Issue. Missing Spaces?!?!?

Okay, i have a really bizarrrrrre problem. I received some
flash files from a friend of mine. And when i goto edit them i
notice there is NO space between the letters F and I ---- only
those two letters in that order. Everything else is fine. I've
tried differernt fonts, and on some it's fine, and on others no
space. I've made a new document, and used the same font and get NO
problem. So it's something in that FLA file. But what the heck??!?
Does anyone have ANY idea how to remedy this problem?
(and yes, it's not a kern/ letter spcing issue - actually,
that will increase the space, but it's starting out as the F and
the I ontop of each other, so i have to kern like mad to make them
    look normal)
    Flash 7 on OSX 10.4.6

I'm marking this "answered" because Quark helped me find a workaround for part of the problem. However, the underlying cause is still unknown and I'm still experiencing font substitution messages even though the fonts should be the same because they're all from the same source.

  • Language issues with iTunes store

I'm in ireland and speak english but I get the German itunes music store. How do I change this to get an english language version- or specifically an Irish version with Euros?

At the foot of the iTunes Music Store window, there is an option to switch to another store. Selecting the appropriate one should take care of the problem.

The recent Infinality update requires a uninstall/install of fontconfig.  I posted the same problem here:
