"Weird" font on the head of my rss feeds on Safari. Same in Mail & iWorks.

When I want to read my rss, Safari displays the headlines in a different font, which I think is Greek. The same happens in Mail and iWork. How do I set it up so that I have only fonts like Bookman Old Style or Times New Roman?

Bruxolini --
You've got a font conflict going on there, I believe.
Here's a good article on three major examples:
Here
The first example is of a font cache problem.
The second is Times Phonetics.
Take a look to see if a matching example is there, OK?

Since I have Safari 6.0 (OS X Lion 10.7.4 on MacBook Pro bought this year)  I am being forced to use the Mail app in order to open RSS Feeds, but I do not want to use the Mail app.
Does someone please has a solution for me? People form Apple, are you reading this? It is annoying me.

  • My podcast isn't updating in iTunes despite the fact that my RSS feed is updating just fine. Help?

I posted an episode about a week and a bit ago. It was viewable on the RSS feed but not on iTunes. After a week went by I tried reposting it plus the next day I posted another new episode as a test. Neither appeared in the podcast.
My RSS feed seems fine. Does anyone know what's going on?

    Hi Jacolli,
I have recommended Libsyn.com for the past 7 Plus years.  I have worked for them for the past 5 years - so I am a little biased.  But again I was recommending them before I worked for them.
Libsyn is the largest podcast host.  90% of the top audio comedy podcast host with libsyn.  And any given week 30 to 50% of the top audio podcast in iTunes top 200 list are podcasts using libsyn.
If you are using Feedburner - switching is simple.  We can import in your files from your source feed - and then you can just repoint feedburner to the new libsyn feed.  Then going forward all you have to do is upload a file - enter a title and description and hit publish - it is that easy.

  • Mail will not delete content of RSS feed in Snow Leopard OSX Mail Update

I have 2 RSS feeds that subscribe to in Safari and read in Mail. When I delete a link in the feed in Mail and they go to the Trash - all of the links reappear when I relaunch Mail ... the same link reappears in the RSS feed. I have deleted the links, quit Mail, re-subscribed to the RSS feed in Safari - but it still happens. It is as if you can never delete the links in the RSS feed. Did not have this problem prior to updating to Snow Leopard. Anyone know whey that is? Or is the RSS feature in Safari just poorly designed and inadequate?

That said, anyone know how to copy/export the RSS feed addresses from within Apple Mail?

  • See rss feed in safari

How can I see my rss feeds in Safari? There seems not to be a button.

You can use App Store or appstorm.net to find RSS Reader's.  There is great applications for free. Also don't know if there is but you can check Safari Extensions. There should be one.

  • Can I configure firefox to download the content of my RSS feeds rather than display it?

With IE, I am able to have the actual contents of my RSS feed downloaded to my PC. I'm not seeing how I can do that with Firefox. If it's possible, can someone let me know how I can do it? Thanks.

    Hi jenmek,
You used to be able to add "/rss" to the end and bookmark the feed as a live bookmark.
However if this does not pop up the rss reader, where it asks you if you want to subscribe there is also a few add ons you can add to the Firefox profile to organize RSS feeds: [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/search/?q=rss+live+bookmark&appver=36.0&platform=all]

  • Firefox changes the url of my RSS feed. How do I fix this?

It changes the URL from http://www.vict-consultancy.co.uk/rss_feed.rss to feed://www.vict-consultancy.co.uk. The result is the xml code is shown as text on the web page http://www.vict-consultancy.co.uk/rss_feed.rss
The RSS feed seems to be working properly in other browsers (IE, Safari, Opera), it's only Firefox that is doing this.

This is only a problem if you open the feed link directly in the location bar.
If a feed is added via a link tag in the page code then it should work as you can via the above posted code.<br />
Firefox 13 doesn't have the "subscribe to this page" icon on the Navigation Toolbar by default, so you would have to add it yourself to easily discover live feeds.
    <pre><nowiki><link rel="alternate" type="application/rss+xml" href="http://www.vict-consultancy.co.uk/rss_feed.rss" />

  • How do I remove the header/footer when printing from ipad safari?

I'm trying to print invoices from a web app I'm using in safari on my ipad1. When I print there doesn't seem to be anyway not to include the header and footer that prints by default with Safari. I'd rather not have to use a second app just to print and go back and forth to the browser. Any ideas on this?
The printing itself is no issue at all and I'm using an HP6500A plus over an airport extreme in case you need those details.

I have been bumping up against this issue in the last few days. I have redone my output as PDF and that works OK - i.e. There are no Safari footer details on the AirPrint printed page.
But now I find that PDF documents frequently print with white space bands across the page (chopping off some of the text). I can even replicate this when pinch zooming on my iPad with a PDF document. So I suspect a bug in the PDF processing functionality within IOS. I am running IOS 4.3 so I had better update to see if the issue goes away.

  • Did Firefox 5 drop the ability to display RSS feeds?

With previous versions of firefox, i could load an rss feed and it would display in the main window, nicely parsed and styled. this functionality seems to have disappeared in firefox 5. load an RSS feed such as http://feeds.nytimes.com/nyt/rss/HomePage and you get an opportunity to create a live bookmark, but the rss/xml is not displayed in the main window. "live bookmarks" still work, but i'd like to see the firefox display the RSS natively without an RSS-reader plugin. Has this feature been intentionally dropped, or is this a bug? or am i missing something?

The button was not used by most people so Mozilla moved it off the location bar.
    * You can use it from within the Bookmarks Menu
    * You can restore the button to a toolbar through customize
    : View ("Alt+V") > Toolbars > Customize > drag icon to a toolbar
See item #9 for a some additional information and other items for additional customization changes.
You can make Firefox 5.0 look like Firefox 3.6.18, see numbered items 1-10 in the following topic [http://dmcritchie.mvps.org/firefox/firefox-problems.htm#fx4interface Fix Firefox 4.0 toolbar user interface, problems (Make Firefox 4.0 look like 3.6)]

  • RSS Feeds won't delete in Mail

I have several RSS feeds coming into my INBOX. Once I read them, I delete them which places them in my TRASH. So far so good. But after I empty my TRASH and go to check new messages in my INBOX, they all show back up as new. Anyone got an answer?

I fear that they are key stroke readers and I want to know how
    to get rid of them.
Having key stroke readers or spyware requires installing spyware. Do these messages include attachments that you opened? Even so, installing a program that is spyware requires entering your admin password.
The account's Junk mailbox may have some corruption. If this email account is a POP type account, do the following:
Quit Mail first and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > Junk.mbox. The Junk.mbox within the account named folder represents the account named Junk mailbox under Junk in the mailboxes drawer.
Delete the Junk.mbox and empty the Trash.
Launch Mail and a new Junk.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder when the next spam message received is automatically or manually marked as Junk.

  • RSS Feeds are not updating in Mail

For a few weeks now my RSS feeds in Mail have not been updating at all.  The settings for checking and updating RSS feeds have not been changed.
Is this a mail issue or an ISP issue?

I know this thread is almost as old as I am but I'm speaking to the folks who may encounter this question through a web search.
Are you running network filtering software such as Little Snitch? That should be the first thing to check. The settings on the software (whatever it is you're using) could be blocking the feeds.
I use Little Snitch and if I have "Silent Mode" turned on I don't receive any RSS feeds. There may also be a connection here to any anti-virus software you have installed. An aggressive setting in anti-virus software might be preventing RSS feeds from updating.
    Hope this helps.
