Weird green outline...

Hi all,
I'm using Flash Pro 8 and doing some video streaming help
section. Initially I've done the streaming part
helplist.
This worked OK (ignore the message inside Tip sectionat the bottom
of the page).
Then I thought I should add a preloader to this help list
page. So, I went ahead and do this
preloader.
Preloader worked OK and I managed to get to the help list. When I
clicked on any one of the item in the list, it brings me to the
streaming video page. Fine. But here if you notice, there's a green
outline appears. Check this
snapshot.
I notice that the dimension of the outline is the same as the
dimension of the list box from the help list page. So, what's goin
on here?
Thanks in advance.
This is the code that is doing the preloading.

Anyone? Any idea? Please....

  • Strange green outlines on components when pressing CTRL + mouse move

    Hi All
I detected a strange behavior in my Swing application (Windows XP):
If I press the Ctrl key and move the mouse on the screen, every component gets an ugly green outline.
It stays as long as the app is doing the next repaint.
Any suggestions? Thank you very much!

Which is why I can't reproduce it in an other application.Well, then you compare your "problem" appliation with the "working" application to see whats different.
If you can't see whats different, then you use the problem application and start removing components and logic. That is remove one panel from GUI and see if it works better. If not then remove another panel. Eventually you will remove a panel and it will start working so you have isolated the problem.
If you remove all panels and it still doesn't work, then you have a SSCCE that you can post. We can't waste time guessing what type of components and listeners you've added to your program. Its up to you to remove all the clutter.

  • What is this weird black outline???

What is this weird little black outline surrounding the things I select? It's very annoying and I want to get rid of it. I know I got it when I mistyped a keyboard shortcut. It's happened before but I caught it immediately and got rid of it, and now I don't remember what keyboard shortcut it was. Please Help!
Below are some screenshots of what it looks like and where it has appeared, but it's showing up everywhere and driving me crazy...

Hi Josh and welcome to Apple Discussions.
The shortcut you want is Command F5, which enables Voiceover in System Preferences>Universal Access.
    Good luck,

  • Weird green changes on zoom and softwares

    Hi there,
I have an issue with a peculiar green (#98f7ab) and I would like to know why.
First I was working on InDesign v9. But I wasn't able to use the right green (see the image below) so I changed for Photoshop v14.
The difference is dramatic. So I first thought that it was due to different color spaces. I made the conversions and nothing get better.
I finally had to work with InDesign and add a touch of this color, hopping that it will be corrected when exported to pdf format. And the trouble became even more weird !
I obtain two different greens depending the zoom I choose in Acrobat Reader ! (It is not true in Indesign.)
    What a mess !
Is there anyone who can explain what is going on here ?
    Thanks mates!

    Thanks for your help.
I think I changed it correctly (see the image below).
I still don't get the right color on my screen in InDesign but thanks to you, my pdf display is not bugged anymore.
Which green will be printed ?
    Thanks you again !

    Hi,
I recommend connect the iPod shuffle to another computer and try to Restore it with the latest iPod updater http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/ipodupdater20051012.html
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300701 ==== Restoring iPod shuffle
USB 2.0 is only required for charging the iPod shuffle it should work when connected to a USB 1.1
    Also check the Battery Status

  • I am getting a weird green line at the bottom of my screen...

I am trying to burn a DVD in iDVD.
I keep getting a green line at the bottom of the screen. I tried "squaring" the pixels before outputting the project, but I didn't render the project this way in FCP before trying that.
    Could that be the problem?
I also tried buring at 1x.
    Any help would help!
    Thank you,
    Evan Jacobs

Well to answer the questions. This artifact is in fact a physical one because you can see it when you boot the Mac and sign in with a different profile. I decided to test my luck at the local Apple Store just to see what they said. They looked at the display for about 3 minutes and then said that it would be nearly 700 bucks for parts and labor to basically put a new display on my laptop. He said that since its a TFT screen chances are on of the layers within the screen are messed up hence I see this black line. I decided Im going to look elsewhere and see if I can't find a solution here. If worse comes to worse, then I'll live with it till the Pro Book is out and get that with Apple care.

  • Weird Black Outlines?

    Hello,
While working on my G5 with the lastest version of Tiger, I started getting black outlines around Hard drive icons, scroll arrows, the scroll bar, a whole range of odd places. I also am now getting two "Force Quite....," "Retart," Shut Down," and "log out" choices in the apple pull down menu. The first or top one is proceeded by 3 dots in each case.
Why am I getting these things? I made a change in Ownership and Permission to a document before this happen. Is this related?
    Thanks, Drew Harty

    Hi,
Thanks, that fixed the problem. In the past though when I've hit the F5 key by mistake (same as part of a command I use in Photoshop all day long), the computer actually starts speaking. Didn't do it this time?

  • Weird green squares on screen

I have been having a graphics issue with my 15" MBP many months after having bought it. Upon closing my laptop and letting it sleep for hours while I sleep, I always find it having these weird large square boxes all over the screen and sometimes it freezes my screen entirely.
    Picture here: http://i.imgur.com/wCMmRgE.jpg
My first instinct was to assume it was a software related problem.
    Reasons for assuming this:
The error is usally remedied by restarting my computer.
Sleeping in safe mode gives me no error.
When the screen freezes, the on-screen mouse pointer is still responsive.
The distorted, colored squares can remain in place and are not a result of dead pixels on the laptop screen. (Note the picture here: When the screen shot is placed infront of the squares, it covers them up http://i.imgur.com/ydsRY4s.jpg)
I have done PRAM resets and it usually fixes the problem for sometime. However, I have come to conclude that it is simply the restarting of the computer that fixes this problem. It can sometimes go away for weeks or months at a time and then re-inflame. Unfortunately, I have misplaced my OS boot disk so I am unable to currently try install my OS on a different partition to see if it is solely software related.
I have also read of a user who had a similar problem and they said they had to get their graphics card replaced. However, when they received the new graphics card it magically had the same problem. This would be highly coincidental (although not impossible), which makes me lean more to it being a software related problem.
Has anyone else experienced a problem like this?

If all else fails, I will have it sent in for repair, but I would like to fix it myself if it is software related.
Open up a 2nd account to see if the issue appears there.

  • What is causing green outline/dots?

I am getting this strange green pattern across all applications (see below.)  Does anyone know what this is and how I can fix it?
    Thanks!

The image that you posted looks OK which leads me to believe that the issue could be with your display. Did you take a screenshot to capture the image? I suggest using a camera to take the picture and post it so we can compare the two images.
Graphics corruption issues that show up when you take a screenshot typically indicate an issue with the graphics system. If the graphics corruption doesn't show up in the screenshot image (like apparently occurred with your screenshot) then it indicates a display issue. I usually recommend taking the screenshot and viewing it on another system so that you can tell whether the issue is present in the screenshot image.

  • Weird Green Line

In the Time Line where I edit video there is a thin green line between the time listed in the Time Line and all the video footage I'm working on below it. It *does not* go all the way to the end, AND all of my video stops at that point and starts up again at the beginning, audio and all.
What is this green line and how can I make it go away?

As Rick says, the green bars show the RAM cache. For more information, see the
"RAM and disk caches" section of After Effects Help.

  • Strange Green Playback Issues in Premiere Pro CC?

Hi, I'm having problems with some footage shot yesterday on a Canon C300. Was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction.
I backed-up the footage, imported it into Premiere and made a few rough cuts. I then left it for the day and came into work today to carry on (so I thought). When I opened premiere I was getting this weird green problem anytime I try to play the sequence. I created new sequences & new projects and tried the footage again and still same issue. I then tried some other footage we had, that was shot on a C300 (.MXF). Same issue. I can open the footage in VLC and Resolve with no problems.
A video of the problem can be seen on vimeo:
    https://vimeo.com/92148775 (password: ppcc)
    My setup is:
    Mac Pro 5,1 / 2 x 2.66 GHz 6-Core / 32 GB 1066 MHz DDR3 memory
    PCI Cards (Internal)
Slot 1 ATI Radeon HD 5870
Slot 2 MiniSAS connection to external Cubix expansion chassis
Slot 3 Blackmagic Design Decklink 4K Extreme
Slot 4 SmallTree dual port 10GbE adapter
PCI Cards (External - Cubix Xpander Desktop Elite)
    Slot 1 NVidia GTX 680 4GB
    Slot 2 NVidia GTX 680 4GB
    Slot 3 NVidia GTX 680 4GB
    Slot 4 RedRocket
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am really struggling (I'm not the most technical of editors).
Anything else you need to know, just ask!
    Thanks

    1. What card do you have?
    2. Which drivers version are you using for the BMD card?
    3. Mac OSX or Windows?
    4. When the playback stops, do you see a small red icon down right in Pr's user interface and if yes, what does it say when you double click on it?
If i remeber correctly the Turn Off Dropped Frame Warning is a per timeline setting. I am not at the editing station now, so i can't check.
I assumed that 1280p50 was a typo in your first post and that you actually mean 720p50. Am i correct?
    Four questions, four answers please!

  • Satellite L350D-216: Green lines, dots and shadows.

    Hello all.
About three days ago, I purchased a laptop (Toshiba L350D, released about July '09 I believe) second hand on a good deal.
I turn it on today, to discover a series of weird green lines, dots and shadows, most of which make areas of text hard to read.
You can see them to the right of words and if you look close enough, also surrounding various letters in the Google logo.
Not especially clear here (sorry), but the greyed out words in the address bar are very ghosted.
Also, it appears to have replaced solid areas of colours like grey, with a 'dotty' green colour.
It appears this issue has also spread onto video, where areas of green are now appearing at random points.
I have updated the display drivers with the latest ones available from here, which sadly made no difference.
Any advice on why this suddenly decided to happen and how to get rid of it would be appreciated, I use the laptop for Photoshop and as you can imagine, having areas of green and shadows is rather off-putting when i'm trying to work.
    Toshiba L350D
    AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core Ql-65 2.1GHz
    4 GB RAM
    250 GB HDD
Windows 7 Home Premium Edition 32 Bit
    ATI Radeon 3100

If an external display (a monitor plugged into the laptop) shows no sign of the fault you can presume the the graphics chip is not at fault, after all it's working fine on the external monitor! If this is the case you don't need a new motherboard. I have repaired many graphic chip faults on laptop motherboards, and find that toshiba are usually quite good at not getting this type of fault.
I would suggest that the problem is more likely to be related to the cable that connects your screen to the laptops board (this is if the lines are vertical). Try moving the screen about on it's hinge and see if the problem goes, you can also slightly twist the screen and see if the problem goes. If you are not confidant to do the job yourself take it to a confident repair shop and they will be able to diagnose the problem. If the lines are horizontal it may well point to a capacitor problem which once again is not a new motherboard, just a decent repair centre which can identify the fault and repair it by replacing new capacitors on your board.
    Hope this helps.

  • Rendering text with each individual letter outlined

I'm wondering if there's a (simple, inbuilt) way to render
text where each letter is outlined in a differnt colour.
If you don't know what I mean here is some
    Sample
    Text.
The Regular text is the font render in a solid colour. The
funky text is a font rendered in yellow but with a green outline
around it. Is there a way to format text programmatically like that
or will I have to render my alphabet to a bitmap and build up
strings with bitmaps if I want that effect.

You can try adding a glow filter to the textfield, setting the color to black, the Strength to a high percentage (like 1000), quality to Low, and Blur X and Y to suit your desired visual result
