Weird icon next to pages in Pages menu...

I'm seeing this little icon, see attached pic, next to all my spreads in my pages menu and I don't remember seeing it before. What on earth is it?

Indicates that there is some form of transparency on the page, whether thought an Effect applied in InDesign, or by a transparent image linked.
You can turn it off or on in the Pages panel menu Options...

You you have rotation lock enabled. A rotation lock icon will appear in the status bar next to the battery charge icon when rotation lock is enabled. This looks like a circular arrow around a padlock. If so:
1. Double click the home button to bring up the multitasking bar.
2. Swipe right until the last set of icons is displayed in the multitasking bar (these will include play/pause and skip buttons for iPod or Pandora).

You may have an unwanted extension that is modifying sites (or the toolbar area). Try this:
Disable ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. Then, if in doubt, disable.
Usually a link will appear above at least one disabled extension to restart Firefox. You can complete your work on the tab and click one of the links as the last step.
Does that flush the tab?
Please report back on anything suspicious you find so others can learn about its bad behavior.

I have 10.6.8 and have installed two new printers HP 8610 and an Epson 7880 and can not find the Page Set-up menu anywhere in the applications I a trying to print from. This is regardless of either printer selected.
I primarily print photos from Photoshop CS5. The term Page Set-up has gone missing in the file pull down menu. Can't make any choices There are no page sizes, paper types, appearsto be locked on a 13x19 size paper format. Either being too large or too small.
Saw a 2008 locked issue about this however none of the help fit my situation, options discussed are not available to me.
Preview has no "Page Setup" - or does it?
Does the constant struggle with computer compatability weirdness issues ever end or is it a enslavement scheme?

Hey,
if you know the name(s) of the root folder(s) you want to access (eg. by making a note on the Windows side) then you can make them appear by just doing Shift-Command-G in Finder ("Go to Folder…"), and entering the full path to the required folders. You can then navigate all the contents as normal.

Edit icon opening blank or wrong page - (Ignore, solved)

Newbie APEX developer here, so sorry if I get the terminology wrong (I have a Lotus Notes app dev background). I hope you can understand what my problem is. Everything was going fine until recently, so I know it must be something I have done but I can't work out what it is.
I have three reports (lets' call them X, Y and Z) which subset records in the Oracle database. The reports display the right data. If I go to report X, and click on the edit icon next to say the first three records (let's call them A, B and C) then the correct record is loaded for editing. Similarly, if I go to report Y I can edit records D, E and F. No problems so far.
However, with report Z I have a problem. If I go to that report first then when I click on the edit icon, I get a blank data entry screen irrespective of what record I select. However, If I have gone to report X first then when I go back to report Z and click on the edit icon next to the first record, it picks up the first record from report X (i.e. record A). Similarly clicking on the edit icon next to the second record causes the screen for record B to display. The same sort of issue occurs if I go to report Y first; if I then go to report Z then it seems to link the first three records to the first three records in report Y i.e. I click on the edit icon next to the first record and record D opens, not the one as shown in the report.
Can anyone shed any light into what might be going on here? The changes I have been making recently were to store the current report page in an application item, so that when the user clicks Cancel it knows what report to return to (which works fine). I've reviewed that and I can't see how that might explain the situation I have.
[Edit: Just in case it helps, I am using Oracle APEX 4.1.0.00.32, the version currently hosted at apex.oracle.com, where I am developing my app]
[Edit: Solved my problem. When I went to the Report Attributes, Link Column table, I noticed that it had values in the Target and Page field, but the Item 1 Name and Value fields were blank. I set these to the same values as per the other reports and everything fixed itself]

Adding pages without adding menu buttons.

I've built a website with iweb: www.freedin.org. I want to add pages, underneath pages, that already exist, because I don't want a new menu button for each page I put up.
Is there a way to layer the pages, like the layers of an onion, so that if you went to Din's Unfair Trial menu page, you could click on pages below, all living under the same menu button?

In iWeb, go to a page you don't want to appear in the navbar (the menu). Click on the inspector button (the blue circle with an i). Click on the page icon, and uncheck the "Include page in Navigation Menu."
On the page you want to be the "master" page for that section, add links for the pages that don't appear in the Navigtion Menu. Links are also created from the inspecto. Select the text or picture you want to be a link; click on the inspector, then click on the blue circle with the arrow. Check "Enable as Hyperlink" and select the appropriate choices from the drop-down menu.

Adding or Displaying Site Actions Gear Icon Using Custom SharePoint Master Page

I am using a custom Master Page within my SharePoint Site in SharePoint 2013 Site. In the top right corner the Gear Icon is not displaying. But when I hover on it the place holder work and when I click on it the menu is displaying correctly.
Now I want it to display that gear icon using my custom master page.
So how can I do that? Could someone help me to solve this?

From your description, my understanding is that you customize a master page in SharePoint 2013, and you want to display the gear icon.
I wonder if just this site cannot display the icon or each site cannot display the icon in your farm? To resolve your issue, you could check these points in your environment:
Compare current site code to other site in file seattle.master. you could find code by these steps: search code with keywords [id="siteactiontd"] in seattle.master -> compare code between tags [<SharePoint:SiteActions></SharePoint:SiteActions>].
Then check if the URL of the gear icon is correct or not as the screenshot below.
Please check if there are some CSS code may hide your gear icon in you custom Master Page.
If each site cannot display the icon, you could check if the file spcommon.png(path:..\ 15\TEMPLATE\IMAGES) is missing or not.
In addition, you could debug your code with pressing F12 to open developer tool in IE.

When I go to a web page that page appears upper left, filling half of the screen. I have to manually go to View in the menu bar to get it to fill the page each time. How can I get my Mac Mini to go to full page automatically when I visit a web page?

I have tried a several times to repairing permissions, restarting the mac, relaunched Finder, but no difference.
I copied the download folder to the dock...there I can open the files, but not deleting them or copying them.
When I open finder, then I click on the folder Download, after a while of thinking, it throws me out and back to the desktop.
already tried to sign in with the guest user account, then I am able to open the download folder.(but not seeing my files)
When I am trying to change the download folder in Safari, it also throws me out and gives me a error report ,for sending to Apple.
I think it's a settings fault or i think my download folder is locked. Almost desperat, already called support center,
They couldn't help, for free, due the 90 days free online help i have reached. If I want to solve this problem, they could try it , but it cost me almost 50 euros.
hope there is someone, who's knowing this problem.
By the way, I think it also could be that I dragged some downloaded music to the desktop, and dragged some folder that has the settings. Now its changed???
Or I was downloading something, and deleted the files in the download folder while it was unpacking and reparing the files.
It's not easy for a beginner Mac user (3 months) to already solve this problems.

Option 1. Terminal.app If you are comfortable using Terminal.app, you can add a different keyboard shortcut this with one simple line. First, quit all your apps except Finder and Terminal. Then paste this command (as one line) into Terminal.app (and press Return):

Launch TextEdit and open the 'File' menu and you should see "Save As..." back in its rightful spot with its original Command + Shift + S shortcut, as shown in the image above.
Aside: After you enter the 'defaults write' command, you will not see any confirmation that it was entered correctly. Terminal.app is a little terse sometimes. If you want to verify it from the command-line, enter this:
defaults read -globalDomain NSUserKeyEquivalents
and look for "Save As..." = "@$s"; in the output.
Option 2. System Preferences.app If you would rather not use Terminal, it's still very easy to add the keyboard shortcut.
Launch the System Preferences.app, then open the "Keyboard" preference pane.
At the top you will see "Keyboard" and "Keyboard Shortcuts" – click "Keyboard Shortcuts" (labeled '1' below). Then in the list on the left side, click "Application Shortcuts" (labeled '2' below). Then click the "+" button (labeled '3' below):
Once you press that "+" button, a small window will appear asking you to enter the title of the menu item and the keyboard shortcut that you want to use.
Enter "Save As..." in the "Menu Title:" field, and then press the keyboard shortcut that you want to use. In the example below I pressed Command + Shift + S:
Note: It used to be true that you had to enter an actual ellipsis (which you can get by pressing Option+ ; on a US-English keyboard). However, when I tested this in Mac OS X 10.8.2, it worked with three consecutive periods.
Bonus Tip: Hide the "Duplicate" menu item.
In my original article I suggested that you also enter a keyboard shortcut for "Duplicate" and while youcan do that if you wish, you do not need to do that.
However, if you would like to hide the Duplicate menu item, you can do that. There are two steps: first, remap "Save As..." to Command + Shift + S (as shown above). Then the 'trick' is to remap "Duplicate" to Command + Shift + Option + S.
What you will have done is swap the keyboard shortcuts for "Duplicate" and "Save As..." which means that OS X will make "Duplicate" the optional command. If you open the "File" menu and hold down "Option" the "Save As..." command will change to "Duplicate"

Important Addendum: "Keep changes in original document"
As we reported in August 2012, the "Save As..." command in early versions of 10.8 had an unexpected and likely unwanted side effect in Mountain Lion: it would save the changes in the new document (created by "Save As...") but would also save the changes to the original document.
However, Apple realized that users might not want that behavior, so in Mac OS X 10.8.2 they added an option "Keep changes in original document" which you can see here:
Option A: If you want to save the changes you've made in the document and then save the document with a different name, then make sure that the box is checked.
Option B: If you want your original document to stay as it was when you last saved it and create a new document based on the modified content of that document, then make sure that box is not checked.
If you do not see the 'Keep changes in original document' box, then the application is probablygoing to give you the "Option B" behavior, but if you are not sure, I would suggest choosing Cancel in the "Save" dialog, then copy and paste the contents of the document into a new file, and save the new file. I know that's several extra-and-less-convenient steps, but if you are worried about preserving the original document, better safe than sorry.
You could also save the file, duplicate it in Finder, and rename the new instance. Open old file and revert to previous save using 'Versions'.
Frankly,I wish that Apple had just left the "Save As..." command alone, but for some reason they didn't ask my opinion. That said, I'm glad that they brought it back in Mountain Lion. I would have paid $20 for that feature alone.
