Help!!

1. That notification indicates you have an application which you previously downloaded or purchased in App World > My World, which is ready for an upgrade on your device. Look there for the upgrade.
To clear the onscreen notification, find the corresponding alert message in your main messages folder, read it or clear it.
2. The square box you're seeing is the Enhanced Audio... Call Log > Menu > Options > General Settings.

  • Weird Icon

I have a weird icon that appears when I make a phone call.  It appears in the upper right corner next to the volume.  It is a rectanular box with stars going diagnoly thru it black in the top section and blue in the bottom.  This does not appear if I am using my bluetooth. I get it both on incoming and outgoing calls.  What is this weird thing???

Hi and welcome to the forums!
That is for the Weird  Application on your phone     (sorry couldn't resist)
I believe that indicator is to tell you that your earpiece on the device is active.  When you switch to speakerphone (alt+$), is disappears and the speakerphone icon appears in the upper left hand corner.
    Hope this info helps.
Please resolve the post using the green option under the kudo's star, Place the green check in the post that answered your question,
    Thanks

That's a sprite file. It's downloaded once for a page and then CSS is used to pick a part of that image. The full display of that image is usually caused by a timeout when downloading the CSS file. If you refresh the page, does it display correctly?
Does the page have any custom JavaScript or custom CSS?

  • Weird Icon Appearing Have Boot

    Hey everyone,
I've been having a weird icon appear on my desktop every time I boot up my computer.
    Here's the icon:

Not sure where it came from or what it means. I've searched online to see if anyone else has had this problem, but haven't seen anything. I'm not sure if it could be some kind of virus?
    Any help is appreciated!
    Thanks!

Thanks for the help everyone. Taken care of.
Apparently I considered doing Boot Camp and made a hard disk for it, but stopped in the middle and decided not to.
Also just realized I butchered my title to the thread.

  • Weird icon on my applications bar

I have this weird icon on my applications bar at the bottom of my computer screen. It sits in the background and I can't highlight it. It looks like the letter M inside a circle or maybe two adjacent arrows pointing up. Underneath the circle is a yellow arrow pointing downward. What does this mean?

Hi Nomvuyo, and Welcome to "Discussions"!
"...my applications bar at the bottom of my computer screen..."
I'm guessing that you mean the Dock.
Are you sure that the icon is in the Dock, and not behind it?
From the Blue Apple menu, select Dock > Turn Hiding On. Or use Command + Option + D keys.
If the icon is now visible, it was behind the Dock, and you can now move it.
If it is really in the Dock, you should be able to eliminate it by navigating to
HD > Users > Your Home > Library > Preferences > com.apple.dock.plist : Move this file to the Trash.
    Restart the computer.
You will now have a Default Dock, and will have to put back any extra icons that you may have placed there.
    Good Luck!

  • Weird icon next to battery icon

this weird icon popped up on my phone yesterday and have no idea what it means. it is a lock with a circular arrow around it?

You you have rotation lock enabled. A rotation lock icon will appear in the status bar next to the battery charge icon when rotation lock is enabled. This looks like a circular arrow around a padlock. If so:
    1. Double click the home button to bring up the multitasking bar.
    2. Swipe right until the last set of icons is displayed in the multitasking bar (these will include play/pause and skip buttons for iPod or Pandora).
    3. The furthest left icon looks like a circular arrow - touch this icon to enable or disable rotation lock on the iPhone.

  • Xterm has a weird icon after update

    Hi,
I updated today, and afterwards I now have a terminal window with a weird icon.
First I thought this must be an error, maybe it is a graphics glitch... But I guess it is just an ugly icon.
Is it suppose to be a computer screen with a keyboard? It is kind of annoying to stare at all day since it looks like something a 3 year old would draw.
    http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/688/weirdicon.png/

There are two changes involved: one was a modification to let xterm hint the window decoration (which appears to be what you're showing).
That's done now via a resource setting which wasn't really used (iconName), and defaults to a small version of the desktop icon.
The other change allows configuring the mini-icon (which isn't the default simply because it looks different...).
    That's done at build-time using --with-icon-name=mini.xterm
As a quick-fix you "should" be able to set iconName (look in /usr/share/pixmaps for some nicer .xpm file)
The change using iconName is noted in the next line of the changelog:
extend iconName resource to search for icon named according to resource value and use that if found. If not found, use compiled-in pixmap. Both set the WM_ICON_NAME property which is used by various window managers, usually for window decoration.

  • Gfx Weird Icons everywhere. What gives?

I opened Iphoto and there are a zillion dumb icon pictures and fuzzy numbers and lame screenshots. A lot of these seem to be in the GFX, about which I know nothing. What are all these weird icons and junk, and how can I get rid of them?
    Thanks
    Tom

We've seen mention of this before. For no reason - apart from the unlikely event that some dragged the HD icon to the iPhoto Window - all the wee icon on your drive are imported to iPhoto.
Solutions: Fast: restore from your bac up.
Slow: Put the in the trash and empty it.
    Regards

  • I have an unknown icon on my Blackberry 8900 curve display...?

The symbol is a black circle with a white arrow pointing South West and a white star in a red background in the top right of the black circle. My key pad is also not working when I want to type a name to go the the number it goes to the short cut of the functions.  Any ideas?

Hi and Welcome to the Forums!
Are your two issues related? Different? The same? I can't tell...
That icon is an indicator from AppWorld of an available update. Go into MyWorld (log in if you have paid apps) and check each app...it will tell you if an update is available. Then, go to Messages and find a message from AppWorld...deal with that (read, delete, etc.) and the icon will then go away.
    Cheers!

  • Weird Icon (browser related ?)

NOW SOLVED - found another post - it was a push message which I deleted via View Folders in messages
Between the Profile indicator and the date / time, I have an icon that has the number 1 and what looks like the browser Icon.  It's some sort of status indicator but I can neither find it on any support, nor get rid of it.  Anyone know
    (1) what it is
    (2) what i am supposed to check upon seeing it
    (3) how I get rid of it
    Thanks

  • Weird icon on my homescreen?

I've had this strange little icon on my home screen for the past two months, and I cannot, for the life of me, figure out what application it is referring to.. It's a little black circle with an arrow in it and a red dot on the top right corner. It has a '3' next to it, so I assume I have 3 of whatever it is. I've looked everywhere for this icon, asked all my crackberry friends if they've ever had it ( no one's seen it before). I don't mind it being there, i'm just curious as to what the hell it's for? Thanks!

I somewhat have the same ICON on my screen everytime i create messages, according to one of my friends that has the same unit - this has something to do with the language i chose.  It's this small box with a letter E inside of it on the upper right corner of my screen. Not that it concerns me, but i also could not figure out how to turn it off...

Nope, not the same icon at all.
Yours is an alternate language indicator. Your's does not have the arrow point towards 7 o'clock does it?
