Weird Inbox Outlook 2010/13 and Exchange

Really weird one this.
I've migrated 7 accounts across from IMAP to Exchange.
5 have migrated across really well.
2 are having problems with the Inbox in Outlook 2010 and 2013.
They both sync all folders to exchange except for the Inbox.
The Inbox show all the emails up to the date of the migration.
But nothing after that.
Using the web OWA does show these latest emails.
So the Outlook Inbox is not syncing with the latest Exchange Inbox.
Any ideas?
I've opened the account using different profiles and different machines with Outlook 2010 but still get the same problem.
Adding the account to an iphone does show the correct Inbox.
FURTHER RESEARCH:
In Outlook 2010 I created a new Folder called "Copy from Inbox"
When a new email arrives, there's a brief period where you see a new email has arrived notice.
I can click on this and I see the new email!
I then move it to the new folder I created above.
I can then see the new emails!
I just can't see them in the Inbox, even though the total count and the unread numbers go up every time a new email arrives.
And this only happens on 2 out of the 7 accounts.
YET MORE RESEARCH :)
In Outlook 2013:
I've labelled my missing emails "test" in the subject line, when I search the current Folder using "test" they are there.
However when I search using Current Mailbox, they disappear.
When I go back to Inbox they disappear.
I'd really appreciate any help, this is driving me insane :(

Unfortunately mailboxes imported to Exchange from IMAP accounts can be a pain as I've found myself! There's a few things that could be causing this.
1) If there's an IMAP filter still being applied to the mailbox, or specifically the inbox that can cause it to not display new mail items. In Outlook 2010 / 2013 I think (I'm looking at Outlook but don't have a mailbox with this issue to check) you
need to go into the View tab, select Change View, Manage Views, and you should see that Filter is set to something. Modify the view and remove the filter. Hopefully that will display the messages again.
2) If that doesn't resolve the issue (or if you see other issues with those mailboxes) check out
http://mellositmusings.com/2012/08/29/exchange-2010-mailboxes-inherit-imap-folder-views-and-attributes-if-imported-from-a-pst-dump-of-an-imap-account/ which goes into detail of how to resolve these issues. The issue I've seen (listed about half way down)
if that the folders retain the container class of IPF.IMAP rather than IPF.Note used by Exchange. You can correct that manually by using MFCMAPI* or if you have Exchange 2010+ you can use EXFolders do update all the folders as a batch.
*Note, if you use MFCMAPI be VERY careful. There's no error checking, you can change / break almost anything in the mailbox and changes are immediately applied, eg no making a change, going "oops", and clicking cancel rather than save.

  • Outlook for Mac and Exchange Server 2010

I am a customer of Office 365 and I am using it on my Mac. Unfortunately Outlook for Mac (version 15.6 150113) is not able to connect to my Exchange account. Tried to reinstall it many times and also reinstalled from zero the Yosemite OS X, but no way. I
try to make the automatic connection and it doesn't work, so I manually insert the server address but unfortunately it doesn't happen anything and the bullet on the left signs a yellow color indicating that it is not connected. I use the same information that
I use in the native "Mail" application where it works perfectly. I tried also other applications like foxmail and airmail 2, and using the same server and id they all work perfectly. Also Lynch is working great. Can somebody help me to solve this
"outlook for Mac and Exchange" problem?
    Thank you in advance

Hi Sylvain, Thank you for the attention. Hereafter the result of the test and sorry if it is in italian since my account is italian. I forgot to say that my exchange account is my Company's exchange server while office 365 is my personal account.

  • Outlook 2010 Home and Business

    Hello,
I have Outlook 2010 Home and Business and I have IMAP email account. Outlook made connection automatically and I am getting an error : Synchronizing subscribed folders for [email protected] and Checking for new mail in subscribed folders on [email protected]
Of course I did try to remove the account and install it again.
    https://support.office.com/en-US/Article/Add-or-remove-an-email-account-5a74e3be-7e11-4d9b-99f7-08ec25e9d072?ui=en-US&rs=en-US&ad=US
I looked on Microsoft website and tried also this
    https://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135?wa=wsignin1.0
    The problem is still there.
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
As per the description, I'm assuming that you are having synchronization issue with your IMAP account in Outlook.
"Synchronizing subscribed folders for [email protected] and Checking for new mail in subscribed folders on
[email protected]" - This is not an error message, did you see any sync errors in Outlook? Any Send/Receive error codes?
You can try below steps to troubleshoot the issue:
Check if your email account settings (incoming/outgoing mail server, server port numbers...) are correct. You can get this information from your ISP or email administrator.
    Disable virus scanner integration.
Loading Outlook in Safe Mode to see if add-ins are the cause of the issues: Press Win + R and type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, then press Enter.

  • First timeout, push retry and then succesfull connect?! Starting Outlook 2010 connect to Exchange 2013

    Hi!
    Some info:
    2x AD/DC Windows 2003 Native.
Previous Exchange 2003 installed, but now cleanly as it gets uninstalled.
    Exchange 2013CU2v2 Aka Version 15.0 (Build 712.24)
Office 2010 with Outlook 2010 (Latest SP, and WU)
Outlook-prf configured for Outlook Anywhere. (i've also tried to configure manually, no difference)
Exchange: SAN Cert. GUI requested from ECP. This one covers all possible host names the server can use. autodiscover, owa, mail, "netbios"-name. Self issued from the internal CA. CA distributed to clients with GPO. I get NO certificate warnings
    surfing to OWA, ECP.
Exchange: ECP/Server/Outlook Anywhere; Auth set to NTLM (not Negotiate)
Ping inside host names resolves to the Exchange server.
Starting Outlook.exe with /rpcdiag show two connections for a while. One of the type catalog and one of the type redirect.
    Problem:
When starting Outlook you see "Loading profile" for about 30-40 seconds. /rpcdiag show two connections CID "9","11"; SERVERNAME "---","[GUID]@thedomain", AUTH and ENCRYPT is empty.
The the a dialog comes up that says that the server isn't available?!
Clicking "Retry" makes Outlook connect as it should. Everything from there works like a charm! /rpcdiag windows show that it has connection as it should.
Tried to click "Reconnect" in /rpcdiag. It also takes about 30 sec before it regains the conneciton. The part hanging there is the Type: Redirect.
So, does anyone have a clue for why it doesn't work and then does?
Can it be something wrong with the autodiscover?

    Hello,
Do you mean the issue occurs when you select manually configure outlook exchange account or automatically configure outlook exchange account? If so, please make sure whether all users have the issue.
I recommend you check if there exists redirection on your rpc virtual directory.
I recommend you use "test e-mail autoconfiguration" tool to check if your autodiscover is correct.
Besides, I recommend you to enable global and advanced logging for outlook to check RPC trace events.

  • Outlook 2010 connecting to Exchange 2013 and 2007 ... delivery fails

    Hello,
we are having a problem with a few Outlook 2010 Clients that have two Exchange accounts setup in one profile. One account is connecting to the company's Exchange 2013 Server, the second account is connecting to an external provider's Exchange 2007 infrastructure
    using Outlook Anywhere.
The companies Exchange 2013 was recently migrated from Exchange 2010 and this is the point where the problem started.
Some users are no longer able to send using the external Exchange 2007 account. When they try they are receiving an NDR with the following error message:
    #554 5.6.0 STOREDRV.Deliver; Corrupt message content##  from the external provider's servers.
When I setup a profile containing only the external provider's mailbox everything works fine until I am adding the company's Exchange 2013 back in at which point the same error appears.
We have no problems using the company's Exchange 2013 servers.
Does anyone have an idea what causes this and how to resolve it? The external provider is uncooperative in troubleshooting so we are left with the problem.
    Thank you
    Sascha

    Hi,
The problem should be related to the External Exchange 2007.
Please refer to this kb below:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2203381/en-us
This problem occurs when the email message is a multipart/mixed MIME message which contains a text/plain body and an application/applefile body.  If the corresponding body is not a real application/applefile body, the Exchange Server 2007 server considers
that the email message is invalid. Therefore, it generates the NDR. However, Exchange Server 2010 can deliver this kind of email message successfully.
To resolve this problem, you should let the External Provider install the following update rollup:
2279665 Description of Update Rollup 1 for Exchange Server 2007 Service Pack 3
    Hope this helps.

One of the users running Outlook 2010  (14.0.7108.5000) randomly gets disconnected from her mailbox on Exchange 2013. The disconnect lasts about 5 min and then connection reestablishes. While outlook gets disconnected, computer does not have any problems

  • Outlook 2010 32bit and Office Communicator 2007 R2 integration

Have a machine running XP SP3, Office 2010 32bit and Communicator 2007 R2. The problem is communicator will not integrate with outlook it states that the mail profile is not configured correctly and to seek assistance. I have a windows 7 machine running
the same versions of software and it works fine. The mailbox for the user is on exchange 2010 and online archiving is not enabled.
I have searched for the answer to this problem but have yet to find one can anyone help?

Is the users default email address for Exchange the same as the users SIP address? I am pretty sure this can cause issues.

  • Outlook 2010: "Decline and Propose New Time" doesn't work.

    Environment: Outlook 2010 v14.0.7106.5003 (cached mode) / Exchange 2010 SP3+RU4 (v14.03.0174.001)
We are following this guideline to propose a new meeting time:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/propose-accept-or-decline-a-new-meeting-time-HP010356518.aspx
User1 sends a meeting invitation (monday 10:00-10:30) to user2. The appointment appears at user2 calendar with status "tentative". So long, so good.
User2 clicks on "Decline and Propose New Time" and selects a new time (monday 11:00-11:30).
Result: The appointment is removed from user2 calendar instead of being moved to the proposed time. User1 receives a notification (Subject: "New time proposed: ... ") with the information "appointment declined" but there is no option
to accept the new time and also no hint about the new time.
If found a lot of posts with the same issue but no solutions...
    Any ideas?

    Hi,
Do the users have 3rd-party add-ins installed?
Let's try running Outlook in Safe Mode:
Press Win + R and type “outlook.exe /safe” in the blank box, then press Enter.
Test if this issue persists when testing in Outlook Safe Mode, if there’s no problem in Safe Mode, disable the suspicious add-ins to verify which add-ins caused this issue.

  • Online Archives in Outlook 2010 disappeared after Exchange 2010 SP3 upgrade

I have Exchange 2010 and noticed it has never been updated since having it in production for 3 years now. So I downloaded SP3 and installed it after hours. After the install was complete, rollups 5,6,7, showed up in Windows Update so I installed those too.
Before I did the upgrade to SP3, I had Online Archives visible on just my user account mailbox and have about 2 years worth of emails in there. Since the upgrade, it is no longer visible in my Outlook 2010. I have tried to fix to remove SELF and re add it
to the mailbox with no change to the issue. I have tried to disable Archive for my mailbox and re-add. Nothing. Don't really know what else to try. Any ideas?

    Anyone?

  • Outlook 2010 not showing Exchange 2010 archives, OWA does.

We have activated Exchange 2010 archives for all users but most of them are not showing up in their Outlook, but everyone can see them in OWA.
Office 2010 Standard - MAK licenses, 2 distinct keys
Majority of systems are Windows XP, some Vista and 7.
Through testing it seems to be a system problem. Using 3 test accounts I log onto various systems, some freshly reimaged, some pre-existing. The test account profiles were new to each system. Sometimes the archive folder would appear, sometimes it wouldn't,
but it was consistent per computer. Meaning that if the folder didn't appear for 1 person, it didn't show up for anyone on that specific computer.
Anybody know how to fix this? Am I missing a setting or registry key somewhere?
    Thank you for any help,
    Greg

Ok, just spent some time looking into this more, if you google "office 2010 suite and version comparison guide pdf" and locate the .pdf file and open it, on page 17 under
Managed E-Mail Folders & Retention Policy:
"Provide a secondary location for users to store their e-mail messages and
manage their mailbox quota with new online managed folders. Unlike localOutlook Data Files (PSTs), this information can be backed
up and managed by Exchange Server."  - is an Office Professional Plus feature only.
So, it would appear that we now not only have to purchase an enterprise CAL for Exchange, but Office Professional Plus as well so we can, I suspect, use the
one extra useful feature that most sys admins wanted Exchange 2010 SP1 for in the first place, which is so centrally manage e-mails and e-mail archives.  Whilst this may not be a big deal for larger companies, educational institutes
etc, as the sys admin for a small private business with 70 users, this extra cost hurts.  As for the lack of clarity - if you want to tie up Office versions with Exchange functionality, how about standardizing naming conventions - call the Exchange
CALs "standard" and "professional" to match the required Office clients, or rename Office Professional to Office Enterprise - either way, match up the client apps and CALs to make it clearer.

  • Outlook 2010 connected to Exchange 2013 prior to coexistence

I installed Exchange 2013 into the environment (Exchange 2010 SP3) and left it at that (ie no additional config).  I noticed Outlook 2010 client connected to Exchange 2013 somehow (it got a cert warning).  Why would Outlook connect to the new
Exchange 2013 server like that?  Although I enabled Outlook Anywhere, it is not trying RPC/HTTP first, but rather RPC/TCP.

    Hi,
By design, if the user mailbox located in Exchange 2010 server, the Outlook client will connect to Exchange 2010 server automatically.
According to your description, I found that we have nothing additional configuration on Exchange 2013. So, only server name and internal services' URLs are configured automatically during the Exchange 2013 server installation.
If it has no mailbox located in Exchange 2013, it is odd that Outlook client connect Exchange 2013 first.
I suggest running "Test E-mail AutoConfiguration" in Outlook to verify which Exchange server the Outlook connected.
    Thanks

  • Outlook 2010 not connecting exchange server

We have Exchange server on remote site. we have installed win7 SP1 and office 2010 SP2 and updated the system as well. but
outlook 2010 is always "asking password" or it shows "trying to connect" in status bar and then it got disconnect.  i have tryied configured  NTLM authentication, https proxy settings everything i have tryied as mentioned in
blogs but it doesn't worked out to me but outlook is working fine in other system with same settings and H/W and S/W.  can any one kindly help me on this

    Hi,
You can first use Remote Connectivity Analyzer to test if you can connect to the Exchange server:
    https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/
We may need to repair the Outlook profile to fix the problem:
In Outlook, click the arrow next to Account Settings on the
File tab, and then click Account Settings.
In the Account Settings dialog box, select your account on the
E-mail tab, and then click Repair. Follow the instructions in the repair wizard.
When the repair is finished, restart Outlook.
As you mentioned, Outlook always asks for password. If the issue persists, check this setting:
Go to File tab -> Info -> Account Settings -> Account Settings…
Highlight your Exchange account and click Change button.
    Click on More Settings button.
    Select the Security tab.
Under the User Identification, make sure the “Always prompt for logon credentials” option is not selected.
Outlook may continuously asks for password due to the corrupted credentials, we can try the following steps as well:
Go to Control Panel, and then click Credential Manager.
Note If View by is set to Category, click User Accounts first, and then click Credential Manager.
Locate the set of credentials that has Outlook in the name.
Click the name to expand the set of credentials, and then click Remove from Vault.
Repeat step 3 for any additional sets of credentials that have the word Outlook in the name.
I hope the information is helpful.

  • Signing, encrypting in Outlook 2010 with two Exchange accounts in profile

    Hi all!
I have two Exchange accounts aimed at two different servers in my profile. In Outlook 2011 for Mac this works as advertised, but in Outlook 2010 for Windows Outlook is never able to distinguish between the two certificates and e-mail addresses. It will always
use the last added certificate, regardless of auto select, default select or manual select.
I have two different named security settings in trust center, each with the correct certificate for the e-mail address. I have seen people do this with Outlook 2013 but I have failed with 2010.
In another thread here it is stated that the signing setting (and encryption setting) is profile specific. That is fine by me as I want to sign from both accounts, but from what I understand, if you have two named security settings Outlook should choose the
right one based on the e-mail address. That does not work...
    Any ideas?
    All the best,

    Hi,
If we have multiple accounts in a profile then it has to be manual process to add the certificate when sending emails. There is no automated way.
You can turn off e-mail address matching for certificates by editing your registry, try if this can help in this issue:
