Weird iphone 6 plus battery problem

im having this weird battery (or battery meter problem on my iphonr 6 plus- this is the 2nd 6 plus that has had this problem so i dont think its a hardware problem
the problem is usage time and standby time are equal - but the battery does not appear to be discharging rapidly
right now the 2 values are at 1 hour 8 minutes but the battery monitor still says 100%
im going to do a battery recalibration this weekend to see if that fixes the problem but i was wondering if anyone else had this problem or knew of a solution

Probably apps running in the background are causing this, sometimes Mail get's stuck connecting to the mail server, or some social media app like Facebook can also be a reason for prolonged background activity.
Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting, but it can cure some glitches.
If this does not help, setting it up as new device would be the next step:

  • IPhone 6 Plus Battery Problem

I Got a question about my battery life. When I take my phone of charge and use it, it's a 100% for like 40 minutes and then when it turns 99% it goes to 98% less than a few minutes and so on. And I don't know what to do and tried many things but it didnt solve the problem.

    Hello Yoloist,
When dealing with battery drain, it can be frustrating. It can take some time to figure out what is actually causing the issue, so be patient when going through the troubleshooting that I suggest, as I do not know exactly what you have done. The first thing I would check is going to Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage and scroll down to the section that will break down what apps and activities are using the battery the most. From there it is a matter of scaling back that usage. You can also adjust the settings for certain apps like Mail to change from a push to a fetch schedule.

  • My iphone 6 plus battery drain fast

my iphone 6 plus battery drain very fast even  I never surf net nor play game.i went to service centre at Singapore for 2 time, the staff told me my battery no problem.my battery only can last for few hours after full charge.

    Hello Jjs10099,
After reviewing your post, it sounds like the battery is not lasting as long as you would like. I would recommend that you read this article, it may be able to help the issue.
Apple - Batteries - Maximizing Performance
you can see the proportion of your battery used by each app (unless the device is charging). To view your usage, go to Settings > General > Usage > Battery Usage.

  • IPhone 6 plus battery shuts down at 3 percent

I have a problem my 2 week iPhone 6 plus shuts down at 3 percent but when I connect the lighting cable it reboots immediately and shuts down again it takes 2 automatic boot up before it stays on, I do never had this type of problem it is weird because it shuts down automatically like if the batter is drain at 3 percent when I connect the lighting cable it boots up and shuts down automatically and then boots up again and then it stays on but showing at a starting point at 3 percent I do not know why this happens... Also my battery drains very quick it takes only 1 day when I have to recharge the phone, this never happen before it took me up to 2 days to drain completely the battery now it takes only one day of normal use...

I am in the same situation you are.  I called the fraud dept, was on hold for over an hour, confirmed everything and was told I would get the phones on the 19th.  The interesting thing is that my son got text messages on his phone to call the fraud dept even though my phone is the main number.
Customer service tells me something different every time I call to make sure I have an order.

  • Does upgrading from previous iPhone affect iPhone 6 Plus battery

I started with an iPhone 3G when it launched, then upgraded to an iPhone 4S shortly after it launched. Fast forward to present time, I recently upgraded to an iPhone 6 plus and am wondering does the legacy of data from the previous phones affect the newer phone's performance. The Usage/standby statistics are useless. They are always identicle no matter how long I lay the phone down. For example its telling me I've been using it for 4 hours and 8 minutes, and the Standby is also 4 hours and 8 minutes. If you total that up, its more time than I've even been awake for today so far. Secondly I haven't even used the device for 4 hours cumulatively let alone 1 hour. Restarting the phone, or restoring from back up doesn't seem to help.
When I use the phone first thing in the morning and unplug it I've seen a 10% drop at times when simply going on Instagram or flipboard for a 5 to 10 minutes.
Since getting the phone I have seen mild improvement in battery life over my 4S, but am not seeing the stellar battery life performance and this Phone is supposedly NEW, from the Apple Store I walked in and bought it from. Any thoughts, or suggestions? Is it the hardware? Does the battery need to be tested?
PS: At the end of me writing this post, Usage 4 hours, 27 minutes... Standby 4 Hours, 27 minutes. SMH

So for a day it seemed to work fine, but in the morning I picked up my 6 Plus unplugged it and noticed as time went by the problem of identical Usage and Standby was present. This time I only reset Network Settings the Usage and Standby were working properly again. Still trying to figure out what the culprit is. How common is this problem and is Apple aware of it and will truly do something about it?
It's not common, but it has happened occasionally for 7 1/2 years with every model iPhone and every version of iOS. It is an app problem, where an app misbehaves or gets stuck sending or attempting to send and failing. There are various tricks to "unstick" it, and resetting network settings sometimes works as it kills all data requests.

  • New iPhone 6 plus battery drainage (Standby time 12hrs)

I bought my iPhone 6 Plus directly from Verizon website about a month ago. Since than, I am having constant battery problems and it is practically burning during a charging process. ( I am using the charger that came with the phone). I checked the battery standby time today and it is less than 10 hrs when the battey is at 76%. (only used for 2 hrs and 46 min after last full charge).
Iphone 6 plus suppose to have good battery time (10days standby time) while my brand new phone has standby time of 12 hrs. What should I do?

Maybe you should  contact Apple Support and talk to them. They can check the battery online.

  • IPhone 6 Plus battery life seems to drop non-linearly

I'm not sure it's a problem yet or not, but I've been watching the battery life over this first day of use, and it is very non linear, even though use has been pretty linear.
For example, after the battery indicator dropped to 90% usage I calculated out how much the battery life would be at that rate and got like 19 hours!
But at 80% usage it dropped to 13 hours.
And so on... subsequent calculations have it multiplying out to 12.5 hrs, 12.3 hrs, 11.2 hours , 9.3 hours and now at 55% battery it multiplies out to 9.2 hrs.
I wonder why the more time passes the remaining percentage seems to drop at an accelerated, rather than a linear rate. Anybody have any ideas?
    Thanks,
    doug

The rate of battery loss is still slowly accelerating. At this rate I expect less than 8 hours usage time.

  • Iphone 6 Plus Battery Usage

Hi, i've had friends that have shown me usage of over 1 day 16 hours on the 6 plus, and standby of over 1 day and 12 hours. My question is, is this normal because the max i'm getting is 12 hours usage and 1 day 2 hours standby. I don't play games, i just stay connected to the internet, and browse twitter and listen to a bit of music. It's lasting me 2 days but my usage seems very low compared to others.
    Cheers. Please advise.

Hi, finally, the iPhone conitinued with the problem... So, I´ve requested a appointment to the Genius Bar, today I went there, they´ve checked the phone, so they found the problem with the hardware, so my iphone has been replaced. Now, I´m trying to drain the battery, and then fully charge it, to, evaluate the new one. The guy, from the G.B. told me, that this one, shouldn´t have the same problem. So, let´s wait and see. I´m little bit worried, because the new one came in a different box, so, I´ve read in various blogs that the ones that they replace are refurbished... I´m a little bit concerned, because I´ve paid more than $1000 for a brand new phone, and now I have something that was repaired earlier... Well, that´s all, thanks again for your support.
    Best regards,

  • IOS 8.3 is draining my iPhone 6 Plus battery life. how to downgrade to iOS 8.2?

I never changed my mobile phone using habits. All that changed recently is my iPhone 6 Plus getting an iOS 8.3 update. I noticed my battery life draining quicker than the usual. It used to still have enough juice to last me until midnight, now by lunch time i am already at 63%!
    Anyone experiencing this?
Know the proper legitimate way to downgrade from iOS 8.3 to 8.2? Prefer to have longer battery life than have this updated 8.3 in my phone. I don't feel the benefits of the upgrade to begin with.

The rate of battery loss is still slowly accelerating. At this rate I expect less than 8 hours usage time.

  • Iphone 5c has battery problems and shuts down even after charging, just upgraded to 8.2, no help, what is my next option?

the iphone 5c still has problems with battery life and shuts down after complete charge.  this happened after 8.1 update, I tried every way to shut things down, still no luck.  what can I do next?

I did a soft reset, and I went to the discussion and turned every down or off.  This is definitely a hardware problem.

  • Since updating to iOS 8.2  my iphone 6 plus battery drains very fast, does not have the same performance

the iOS 8.2 drains my battery life for the iphone 6 plus, i need some tricks to have more efficency

  • Where is this magical iPhone 6 Plus battery life?

iPhone 6 Plus users, are you getting the great battery life that most reviewers and reporters are describing with the iPhone 6 plus? I've had mine for two weeks, and while I wouldn't say the battery life is bad exactly, it hasn't been the stellar improvement overall compared to my old iPhone 5 that reports have led me to expect. Many people seem to indicate you can go a day and a half or two days with moderate usage without recharging, and I am lucky to make it to the end of the day and not get a low battery warning.
I've fiddled with settings (background app refresh, push e-mail, deleting Facebook app altogether, turning off Pebble/bluetooth, etc.) and while it may make some difference around the edges, I'm certainly not finding that I have more than 50% battery left at the end of a day of standard usage, like some people are saying. My usage isn't light, but it certainly isn't heavy, either. I'm not watching a lot of video or playing many video games or anything during the work day. I'm probably actively looking at the screen for maybe a total of 3 hours a day.
Are my expectations too high? Do I have a substandard battery? I am willing to change settings, but at the same time, a great part of the appeal of the 6 plus for me was not having to do that battery dance all the time. Any ideas?

my iphone 6 plus is by far the absolute worst battery life of any phone i've ever owned. I brought my phone into apple store genius bar and showed them like 50 screen shots of my battery usage screen saying i lost like 50% over the course of a few hours of extremely light use. They basically told me "our battery diagnostic app says yur battery is fine... go away.'
I've tried that let it die down to zero percent and then recharge thing like twice. It does nothing. Apple refuses to acknowledge that my iphone6 plus has a garbage battery. I do not trust their battery diagnostics test as far as i can throw this 1000 dollar paperweight and that is basically what this phone has been since the second i owned it,
THis is NOT A TROLL post. I am a 100% genuine iphone 6 plus owner who truly is unsatisfied with my purchase.  This is truly 100% without a shadow of a doubt the worst battery ive ever seen on any smartphone ever and at the same time i acknowledge that there exists ip6+s with great battery life. There has to be some super dodgey stuff going on like there are just tooooo many bad batches or something. Maybe my phone was part of some rushed batch to make it in time for christmas and they were careless n heavy handed at the factory something i dunno but what i do know is my iphone 6 plus has absolutely dismal, pathetic and downright makes the phone unusable when i am out and about due to battery anxiety.
There are way too many posts of people saying their ip6 battery is bad while other posts saying it's good. It's starting to become apparent that the iphone 6 is just extremely inconsistent and quite frankly not worth the risk really. You could get lucky n get a good 1 but you could very well get 1 like i have that literally died down from a full 100% charge down to fully dead in less than a half a day from literally zero use whatsoever. it just sat there sleeping. I didn't use it during this. It was a test to see how long it would take to die and it failed this test miserably and yet apple's useless little battery diagnostic over at genius says my battery is just fine n dandy... yeah right. Its crap. The genius dood who was totally cool n he's just doing his job/ protocol or whatever no knock to him but he just pointed me to some battery conversation tip link on apple's website and sent me on my way. I showed him screenshot after screenshot showing extremely poor battery life math and he just wasn't interested in hearing of any of it cause his all knowing battery diagnostic thingy infront of him is some all knowing crystal ball says my battery is fine and that's the end of it and the piles of screenshots i have saying my battery is dying 10 times faster than your are claiming while i had no background apps or anything whatsoever running don't mean a thing.
I want my money back apple . Your product does not perform as advertised.

  • My iphone 6 plus battery life

i am using a iphone 6 plus and when my battery run out of life, the screen doesn't show the image of a low battery. It only shows the battery bar when i am charging the phone. What should i do to make it reappear again? Im using a IOS 8.1

You should plug in your iPhone overnight to let it charge.

  • Will iPhone 6 plus' battery suffer from high temperature?

    Hi all,
Last time, i accidentally put my iPhone 6 plus on the macbook's charger and then it became too hot that i couldn't use the camera. Did my battery suffer from that or would it puff??

Anytime the phone gets too hot, it will self-protect and shut down. Few times and it may be ok afterwards, provided the overheating wasn't too extreme. But the battery will degrade and lose charge capacity. Plus such kind of damage would not be covered by warranty.
In other words, take better care of your phone if you expect it to last.
