Weird magnification of some UI elements...driving me nuts.

Hi All,
Really strange thing is happening on my mac. For some reason, the close window red button is enlarged and sitting in what looks like a rectangular layer floating above the application window. In addition to this, each time I open an application a rectangle appears floating over the center of the top application bar and contained in it is a magnified image of part of the top bar. Further to this, sometime the search box appears in a similar rectangular box flaoting above the main bar!
Cant figure it out - I have tried all the obvious stuff like:
- Playing with the accessibility settings
- Zapping the PRAM
It seems like a bug because it does not help with any accessibility at all - in fact, it is making the use of the MAC impossible.

Some UI Elements not visible to Users

Hi Experts,
We are facing some weird issue in Web Dynpro applications on Enterprise Portal.
Some UI elements are not visible to users on screen for no apparent reason.
However to other users, same UI elements in same application are visible & rendered properly.
This is happening specially in case of Table Pop In.
I've tried many things like using different machine, clear browser Temp files etc... but nothing helped.
is it like that EP is not able to render some of the UI element properly ?

Weird line-height with many elements in wordpress admin

I am having some weird line-heigh in many elements in wp admin. Many input fields as well as many span fields are behaving strangely. And the cursor also became very short.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

If you have increased the minimum font size then try the default setting "none" as a (too) high value can cause issues.
*Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > Minimum Font Size (none)
Make sure that you allow websites to choose their fonts.
*Edit > Preferences > Content : Fonts & Colors > Advanced > [X] "Allow pages to choose their own fonts, instead of my selections above"
This can also be a problem with the font that is used to display the text.<br />
You can use this extension to see which fonts are used for selected text.

Some text elements are missing

Hi there!
From some time (I didn't noticed exactly) some text elements disappered in collaboration iviews.
For example if I try to go to some info-site collaboration room and add announcement, new window is opened with no texts, but only input fields to be filled. There's also no text on 'OK' and 'Cancel' buttons. So it's hard to understand what input field is for what purpose :o)
Why could it happen?
We're on SAP EP SP13 on WebAS 6.40, KM and Coll are also SP13.

I managed to regenerate projects. There's some bug with java on my notebook, but I did it directly on portal server maschine.
But the problem still persist. I even tried to restart servlet engine, no luck ;o(

Some math elements appear as question marks in equations - FM9/Win7Pro

Hello everyone,
I am facing the issue that some math elements appear as question marks in equations; for example, the summation and angle symbols.
The approximately equal or the alpha symbols, for example, appear correctly.
The symbol font is installed.
System specs:
FrameMaker 9 with the latest patches installed.
Windows 7 Professional with the latest updates installed.
The strange thing is that math elements appear correctly using virtual computers on my computer (Windows XP and Windows 7 Ultimate on VMWare).
Same maker.ini file and fonts are present on all (real and virtual) computers.
I have reinstalled FrameMaker already on my real computer (where I have the trouble) and it did not solve the issue.
I have checked (I think) all question mark related topics (when question marks are displayed instead of the correct characters) on this site, but none of them provided the solution to my problem.
I would appreciate your help!

Thank you for your response.
I use Adobe PDF as the default printer on both the real and virtual computers and I do not know the SetPrint utility.
I see the question marks appear in the FM files as well as in the printed PDF. It makes me think it is not a printing issue.
c:\windows\fonts is provided as the Font Source in the Embedding box for the Adobe PDF printer both on my real computer and my virtual one.
The SymbolMT font is listed in both cases in the Embedding box, which is (probably) referred to as Symbol Regular when I open the c:\windows\fonts folder using Windows Explorer. No other symbol fonts seem to be installed in this folder. I do not know how to check what other folders FM considers.
By the way, I can insert the summation character, for example, as a simple character using the Equations editor correctly, the problem comes when I try to insert it as a math element.

Trying to change the labels for some UI elements

Problem: I am trying to change the labels for some UI elements and transport the views from one server to another server.
the lables show changed in the source server but the changes dont reflect in the destination server

The process is as explained:
1.     Firstly, go to the respective view, and to the Label and then delete the Label Text as
                mentioned in the attribute u2018TEXTu2019 of the Label in the view.
2.     Next, Activate the View, if it asks for a change request, please assign it to a new TR.
3.     Finally give the Label text again and then Save it and activate it.
4.     Further transport the request to ECP and find the difference.
This especially happens when we frequently change the WD Component and embedd it entirely in the Transport.
I hope this information would be of a great help to all of us.

Why Some of Elements Wasn't Display Before Opening Layout Of Application

is there a webdynpro application that was used without sap portal ( with an url ).
an error occured last time; some of elements weren't displayed in explorer. then i opened the layout of that wda application and tested it so all elements were displayed.
Does anybody know how did it happen? Will it happen one more time?

Might be some personalization applied for those UI elements as per the user. It could be some user settings for those UI elements.
When you check the component, the component configuration has the personlization settings right.

Trying to give a logo some 3D elements, but I don't think this is possible with Ai? Pictures inside.

Hello, I've set out to give this logo some 3D elements for some pop. I don't want to just extrude the thing as if it was a cylinder, I want to extrue the Triniti symbol, circles, as well as the black and green quadrants in some way. Not exactly sure, but I'll figure that out later. Afterwards I will possibly be dropping the logo into Aftereffects and making some kind of animated 3D intro with it. Here is the logo:
So I took a png of the logo, auto traced the image in illustrator, and used the 3D extrude effect. This was the result:
Obviously not what I'm looking for. Even if I only extruded parts of the logo, the behavior of the 3D effect would never give me what I'm looking for. Looking at tutorials, the extude effect seems to only be good for text and non layered shapes.
What I'm trying to accomplish is something that I could see working just fine in some kind of CAD software like Solidworks. I would just select the features I want, and extrude them as I desired. I do have access that piece of software, but I feel like that is a wierd work around, and I would have problems when it came time to apply the proper colors, and when I would bring the logo back into after effects for animation.
I also tried dropping the logo into After Effects directly and did the whole "convert shapes from vector layer" and using ray tracing tried extruding it there, but I can only extrude the entire logo, not individual parts.
I'm stumped on a good way to go about what I want to do. Any suggestions?

Divide the logo into groups (or layers to help AE later), and run an individual 3D Extrude (applying same rotation settings) on each group for better control.
Trinity symbol will be the toughest, because of weave. You can try a seperate chunk for the overlap and bring to front.
If you have trouble keeping the elements in register, make a dummy rectangle larger than the logo, and fill with none and copy into each group for a consistent bounding box.

Am running FCP5, but upgraded to iMac a few months ago. Noted that some features of FCP5 like Boris text are no longer available. Was told by local Apple store that new operating system I now have (Snow Leopard) will drop some such elements. Is this true?

Ssrs report from ssas cube , driving me nuts now...

hi folks:
This is driving me nuts and I know it's gonna be some small stupid settings. The question is pretty simple, I want to users to be able to pick up a week from date hierarchy. If I specify a static week, mdx query will run and report shows with
correct data and format.
Now, in the dataset I've created using query designer, I've dragged data hierarchy into the filter and check the parameter box and also put a default value as well. Technically, when I run this report, I am supposed to see a dropdown list with all
the available dates but I did not see any dropdownlist and report still runs with default value.
Why is this happening?

Just as Gnanadurai said, a report auto runs when all parameters has their own default values. This scenario can also be occurred when there are no available values for the parameters. So if you want to see a drop-down list with all available dates when the
report runs, we should specify some available values for the parameter. For example, we can specify the available values come from a dataset field. Then the values in the field would be displayed in the drop-down list, we can select some of them to filter
the report.

About 5 days ago for no apparent reason at all, about
7000 songs which i have collected over a number of
years has just decided that it wont play in ITUNES or
in any other of my media players. When you click on
Play over a song nothing happens. The play icon
doesnt even come up on the screen.
Steps I have taken so far are:
1 - Remove all tracks from ITUNES and then re-add the
folder where all the songs are. This has obviously
removed all songs, but when I have re-added the
folder , it has added about 650 tracks back on to the
playlist. These 650 tracks will play. This leaves
approx 6400 tracks that it wont play.
By the way all the songs on my PC are MP3 type and I
have had no problem playing any of them until last
week.
2 - I have re-installed ITUNES and reinstalled
Quicktime and that has not worked.
3 - All of my songs are backed up on to a External
Hard Drive. I have tried to restore the songs and
also play them directly from the external hard drive.
I get the same problem when I do this.
4 - I have enabled and allowed all permissions for
the account that I am running the PC from.
I am guessing there must be some settnig or Registry
Key that is blocking me playing the tracks from the
PC. I have also tried to launch the songs in Media
Player and Sonic stage but thsi has not played
either.
All the tracks are in the folder structure as they
were before so I know they are there. I just need to
somehow unlock them.......
If anyone has any ideas, I would be very grateful as
I dont want to lose my entire music collection.
Also I cannot find anyweher on here that is a Support
number or email address for Apple as this is an
ITUNES issue and they should be resolving it for
me!!!!

Will not complete a sync without crashing and saying cannot read to the device or something to that effect.

How can I get rid of the ber at the top of the screen that shows allow it is driving me nuts

At the top of the scren there is a bar acress the top of the screen the has a window that says allow, some time I have to hit the allow button to let a page download, & it is driving me nuts. How do I get rid of it.

The setting in "Tools > Options > Advanced > General" is meant as an accessibility feature, as you can see by the label of that section, so that people with disabilities or people who use screen readers do not get confused and is not meant as a safety protection to stop redirecting.

"PubSubAgent" is driving me nuts.

I use Little Snitch to monitor outgoing connections. In the last week or so it's started warning me many times a day that something called "PubSubAgent" wants to connect to various addresses that I've never heard of. I tried a Web search for "PubSubAgent" and learned that apparently it has to do with managing RSS feeds and syncing same via .Mac. In 10.5, anyway; I haven't found anything about its function in 10.6. Anyway, in my 24 years using Macs I've never had anything to do with any RSS feeds or with .Mac in any of its incarnations, so I don't know what this is about, but it's driving me nuts.
Mostly it wants to connect to a website named macmouse.com, which turns out to be some kind of Mac dealer/club in Hawaii. If I put the cursor over that address in the LS alert, it'll sometimes show a whole list of URLs "with the same IP address". I've seen up to six addresses in that list, all of them looking like they're connected to the Hawaii place. Then sometimes it'll show macmouse.com only, with no alternatives. Then it showed an alternative as 2153788.sites.myregisteredsite.com, which seems to be a vendor of Web addresses; after I went to look a that site, then PubSubAgent started wanting to connect to it instead of macmouse.com. Then it brought up a completely new one, www.kabsoft.com, which is vendor of "Judaic software". And now, after looking at that site, PubSubAgent wants to go there. I've never had anything to do with these places.
Here it goes again, wanting to connect to www.kabsoft.com, listing macmouse.com and 2153788.sites.myregisteredsite.com as alternatives with the same IP address. I could just tell LS to Deny Forever, but I'd like to know what's going on. Besides, PubSubAgent will probably just come up with another URL it wants to connect to. (It also occasionally wants to go to some Google address.) I've shut down Safari and everything else and Restarted my Mac, but after a while PubSubAgent just starts up again. There is a set of about a dozen Web pages I keep open all the time, but I had the same set open two weeks ago and I'd never heard of PubSubAgent then, so it seems unlikely this behavior has to do with any of them. I tried throwing out ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.PubSubAgent.plist and ~/Library/Caches/com.apple.PubSubAgent/Cache.db, but they just got recreated.
Being a Mac user, I have no real experience with malware, but this behavior looks awfully suspicious—though the sites PubSubAgent wants to connect to do seem to be legit. Can anyone tell me (a) just what PubSubAgent is up to, and (b) what I can or should do about it?

Thanks, WZZZ, for your efforts, though PubSubAgent seems to have you as mystified as it has me. I checked out the "More Like This" list to the right; all were about 10.5, and none seems to offer a real explanation or solution.
One has a post that "solved my problem" with a link to another Discussion, but the link leads to a page that says "Unauthorized: It appears you're not allowed to view what you requested." Apparently that discussion has been scrubbed?
Another has a link to an Apple Support article which apparently no longer exists; the link just leads to the Apple Support home page without explanation. A search of Apple Support for PubSubAgent finds nothing.
Another has a link to a Macworld article which explains that "according to Apple, 'The PubSub agent syncs the RSS read/unread status of bookmarked RSS feeds between computers using Mac OS X 10.5 that are syncing bookmarks via .Mac Sync.'” But says nothing about why PubSubAgent would be trying to connect to mysterious websites I've never been to, and when I've never used RSS or .Mac Sync.
Iow, no one seems to know about this. Doesn't seem to be doing it so often now, though it's back to macmouse.com. I also see from LS's rules that PSA connects to "safebrowsing-cache.google.com", or at least it tried once and I allowed it, thinking that's necessary info. But is PSA really what collects that info? Apple doesn't seem to want us to know anything about it.
I guess I'll just try turning it off and see what happens. Maybe try some other forums.
