Weird Menu/Random button conflict on Zen To
Sometimes when I press the "menu" button on my Zen Touch, it randomly queues all tracks, as though the random button has been pressed instead. Has anyone else noticed this problem? It's a fairly minor annoyance (especially compared with some of the other problems I've had with the Zen Touch *grumble grumble* :angry: ) but still, it's odd. Firmware reloads, harddri've cleanups etc do nothing to change the problem.

I think you have a "mechanical" problem i.e. when you're pressing the Menu button due to its proximity it's also pressing the random button as well. Sounds like you might need to return your player... but you could try a reset and a disk cleanup, and perhaps updating the firmware. To access the Rescue Mode hold down the play button and KEEP it held down, press the tiny reset switch once, and KEEP the play button held down until the player boots into the Rescue Mode. Choose Disk Cleanup from the menu.

Zen Touch Random Button Sugges
Others have wished the "random" button on the Zen Touch just played a randomized "selected music" list, rather than everything on the player as it does now. My ideal suggestion would be to make this button function something like the FFWD button; push it to randomized selected music or push and hold to randomize the whole dri've. The way it is now is not very useful for me, since I have a few thousand tracks on the player. Way too big a playlist to "randomize".

The idea of the dedicated "random" button was quick access to the "shuffle" function without going through the menu system (same as dedicated volume controls, etc.). Yes, everyone knows you can chage the play mode to shuffle and that will shuffle the "selected music". To do this requires several menu steps, however. Bumping the random button by mistake (the way it is set up by Creative now) causes your entire Zen to shuffle EVERYTHING. This takes, in my opinion, a positi've feature of the player and turns it into a negati've. I think pressing the button should toggle "random" in selected music only. This would be convenient and I think this is probably more in line with what was intended for this button to begin with. If you really want to shuffle your whole library (why?), you could press and hold the button.
It is not a huge deal, because there is a way to get the same thing done using the menu system, but then why have a dedicated button at all? -
PETITION: Change Zen Touch "Random" button functionali
I've heard alot of people mention this and thought it might be a good idea to make our voices heard (we might as well make use of all the time creative is taking to release the firmware!).
Basically I'm sick and tired of the random button. Sometimes I have the zen touch in my pocket and accidently press the random button and away goes my entire custom playlist, its so annoying especially when I haven't saved the playlist. It happens at least two times everyday while I'm on my way to college, I nearly broke down in tears the last time it happened. Yes I can use the hold switch, but I frequently switch tracks and its a joke having to hold/un-hold/hold/un-hold/hold constantly. Also, the remote is a rip-off so theres no going there!
OK, my proposal is this:
a) Single press - Zen Touch switches between normal and shuffle mode.
b) 3 second press - Zen Touch loads up entire music library in shuffle mode.

Clearly, this isn't a realistic way to shuffle audio. It works great if you use your Zen Touch for PURELY music. But I don't. I'd rather see the RANDOM button toggle between NORMAL and SHUFFLE modes, but not load any audio tracks to playlist. In fact, that was my first thought when I bought the Zen Touch of how the button works. Currently, for me, it's a pain. -
Menu bar button hyperlink to open a new page?
I want to know if there is a way to add a hyperlink to a Menu bar button to open a new page showing a pdf file?

Menu and Buttons not showing up!?!
OK. I was trying to burn a iDVD project on my dual G5 desktop w/iDVD5. I would get "there's an error while rendering". After fiddling with it for a day and getting no where, I switched to my laptop (G4/1.25ghz/10.4.8) with iDVD6.0.3. I started to re-assemble the project and the Themes button appears with the themes, the Media button appears with the media, but both the Menu and Buttons buttons show up with nothing but a empty white area! I need to reposition some buttons, but I can't.
Please help.This frequently helps solve some problems. Quit iDVD. Search for the file named com.apple.iDVD.plist and trash it. (A new one will be created next launch of iDVD.) Or look in: User/Library/Preferences. This may solve project loading errors too. Restart and use Disk Utility to Repair Permissions.
You'll need to reset some Preferences. -
My Ipod classic has frozen. Have tried pressing menu/centre button and resetting, but still won't work. Can anyone help please.

Adding menu-like buttons to JToolBar (such as Back button in Netscape)

I wonder wether it is possible to add a menu-like button to a JToolBar. I tried adding a JMenu but didn't succed, since the menu's visual appearance was completely messed up and, furthermore, it didn't respond to mouse clicks.
Any hints appreciated.

At the end, the new menu reacts and can be used exactly as a JMenu.

Menu navigation buttons do not appear when viewing page on iPhone
My webpage shows the menu navigation buttons on all browsers and platforms but when viewing on an iPhone they are not there. Hence you cannot view other pages. Is this a restriction of pages created in iWeb or am I doing something wrong?
I have trawled through the discussion forum and tried tips such as the height of the menu bar from the top on the page, pixel width and making sure the menu box is at the front or brought forward.

Blackberry Curve 8520 - random buttons?
So I dropped my phone in water yesterday and the trackpad wasn't working, I just pulled the battery out and put it back in. It started working fine then all of a sudden today whenever i'm texting it presses random buttons. It keeps asking me if I need to change the time, etc , etc.

Go to Solution.I'll warn you, that the longer you keep the device powered up and the battery in, you're likely gonna end up with a totally non-working Blackberry.
Electricity + water does not mix. Never good.
1. Remove the battery immediately!! Do not attempt to turn on your BlackBerry.
2. Let the device dry in a warm, dry place for 3 to 5 days* (see below)
3. DO NOT "check it each day" by placing the battery in. Leave it be to dry completely. This takes time. Replacing the battery to check it can only damage it more (moisture + electrical current = disaster).
4. If the device is warm after the drying period, allow it to cool to room temperature before placing the battery back in.
Suggestions on drying your BlackBerry in a warm place (open, with the battery out):
*Place the BB in a container of dry UNcooked rice, and then you might also place it in any of the locations mentioned below.
*On top of any dry heat emitting electronic component: TV cabinet or CRT, LCD, cable TV/Satellite converter box or plasma monitor
*On the dashboard of your car on a sunny day

I have created a DVD in Premier Essentials 12. The navigational forward and back menu buttons work in the completed movie's "Disc Preview" mode on the computer, but these navigational buttons showed up but did not work on the burned DVD. Why not and how can I fix?
I have two main menus with a Play All, Scene, and two other "personalized" (January and February on the first main menu and March and April on the second main menu) buttons. Because I needed a total of four personalized "month" buttons, the main menu automatically carried over to a second main menu page. I have always set up my family videos so that you can play all, navigate to a particular individual movie (scene), or view by the month (multiple "scenes" in each month). This is how I have done all my previous DVDs when I used the Roxio program. My family like this setup. Actually Roxio allowed me to set up my main menus with the months, and when you clicked on the month, you were navigated to a "submenu" that included all the individual movies for that particular month. Premiere Elements menus do not include this navigation format. So, I have a Main Menu 1 page 1, Main Menu page 2, and (you are correct) separate scene menus Scene Menu page 1, Scene Menu page 2, and Scene Menu page 3 (which are not organized by month but just chronologically...five to a menu). The problem is that the forward and back buttons to get both back and forth from Main Menu pages 1 and 2 and all the Scene Menus are not being recognized by either of the two DVD players I tried but are working fine when I put the DVD in the computer and work in "Preview Disc." None of the forward/back buttons work on any of the menus. After hours of playing around, I did find that the menus do go forward and back in the DVD player when I use the down, left, and right arrows on the remote to navigate totally off the bottom of the television screen where there is just black.
Hope this helps. I will work on trying to burn a DVD with just the preset menus and see if the forward/back buttons work then. My question is in order to do this, do I have to make an actual movie using my clips in order to get the menus to work? I don't want mess around with anything on my current "family DVD" (except get the forward/back buttons to work!).

If you have 12 scene markers and the Memories/Family Memories theme (5 scene buttons per scene page), do you have

Take the function code of the buttons which you do not want to display. Pass into an internal table, code it like:

I work for a compagny that make's Karaoké, does anybody know how I can do a random button?What version of DVDSP are you working with? If its v3 then you can look up scripts in the manual. It explains how to do a random script in that section.

I have the ABC word's, each character one button. I have to create a random button array with 4,5,6..etc(variable) elements from these buttons. I have no idea whats the right way, how to creat these problem.

Go to Solution.Use the Random Number inside of a FOR loop. To get a range of values, the typical way to do it would be rand*range size+min number. Since you are dealing with letters, you would want rand*26+0. This would give you an array of indecies corresponding to the letters your want.
