Weird menubar glitch

I'm having a weird menubar glitch sometimes when changing from one app to another. Both menus from two different apps show at the same time at the menubar. The only way to restore the expected state is to use command+tab when it happens. =/

Yes, I reboot every day or so

More than one time, and haven't solved the issue =/

Last thing I remember was the installation of an app called Alfred, but I did ended its service, and the issue persist.
*Did you try to RESET the PRAM?*
This one I did not try, how can I do it?

Didn't either, should I try to reset the pram first?

Went through hell getting our second phone activated because of a weird computer glitch and when we asked if we would receive any consideration for the time, travel, and money we put into getting the phones the way they were supposed to be, we were told to wait until the bill came and then they could make adjustments. Now I have the bill and have no idea "who" the we would be that could make adjustments. To top it off, the only way I know my account will get any attention is to post this in chat. I am so disappointed and will be counting the months until our phones are paid off and we can change companies.

Weird graphical glitches in Chrome with Mavericks

I installed Mavericks and since then I have a weird and common graphical glitch that affects the whole screen when using Chrome and happens for about half a second at a time. It is pretty frustrating. Does anyone know how to fix this? It looks like this:
Will there be an update to Mavericks soon? My computer is even slower since the install. Programs crashing often...

Have you tried another browser like Safari or Firefox?

Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

Weird Menu Glitch in Mail

When I right click in Mail, I get a weird glitch in the menu that comes up. The first line is blank. I can't click it. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if it's just me.

I can't help you, but I join you with the same problem ....
Mail downloaded from some time in the past ...
But only for sent folder. In .mac my sent folder actually orders the mails strangely too as opposed to my trash folder that in both the iphone and .mac are ordered properly.
Anyone any help?

Weird TextEdit glitch

So every now and then I have this bizarre glitch that comes up.
Sometimes, when I quit TextEdit, the menu bar will glitch out and show only the highlighted TextEdit menu. Also, the computer will stop responding to any keyboard input, and do nothing but beep no matter which keys I hit. I can still click on icons and windows, but they don't respond when clicked on. If iTunes is playing, then the song will continue to play just fine. I can't even force-restart with Command-control-power because again, it just beeps at me if I hit a key. The only way to get out of it seems to be to power off the MacBook entirely.
This only seems to come up every few months or so, and so far, the only times that it's come up are when I quit TextEdit. Any idea what might be causing this?

menubar doesn't change with programs on OS 10.6.6 such as between firefox and microsoft word. If I rag my cursor along the top it refreshes

Weird Screen Glitch/Freezing

I tried searching but nothing came up. So my macbook has done this weird thing where the screen would start glitching up and then it will freeze. 1st instance where it did this was when i set it down on the table and it did it. When it happens it will show blue bars in squares and the screen will go all loopy and return to normal for a bit and do it all over again. The 2nd time I did it was during the middle of an update and the macbook was sitting still. The 3rd time was a moment ago and now I'm deciding to ask about it. I was just typing on my lap and it did it. This time however I tapped the right side of the keyboard in annoyance and noticed it got aggravated when I did it. Meaning it would get loopy when I tapped the board. So I was thinking something may be up with the HDD and maybe a loose wiring?
I plan on taking it by apple but is there any thoughts or maybe fixes that do not require me going by Apple store? Thanks in advance!

Not that you should ever smack your macbook around.....
however in doing so you likely indicated a bad monitor cable or same at the logic connector. If it is actually so that blue bars and squares vanished upon tapping it, this would (if correct as per your description) indicate not a bad GPU rather the cable to monitor or connector for same @ logic.
nothing you indicate has anything to do with the hard drive however.

Weird "favorites" glitch in iOS 4.2.1

Weird iOS 4.2 glitch: any people in favorites list below 5th person dial the number above it. 5th number down results in black screen. Try it!

Guys, I have this glitch too. It's very annoying! I first noticed that right after I updated to 4.2.1, I was missing an e-mail contact from my favorites list which was my girlfriend's e-mail she uses with her iPod for facetime connections.
The contact that was after her e-mail was shifted up. When I choose that conact, the screen goes black, then the subsequent contacts contact the prior contact on the list. I tried a restart. No go. I even restored my phone. No luck. I deleted all my favorites. Now, with the favorites list being empty, when I add a contact to my favorites list, it switches the contact name to the e-mail address that had disappeared from the list. Any subsequent contact I add, contacts the earlier one. Except for the first one, which just goes to a black screen. I deleted the contact from my contacts list with the e-mail to see what would happen.
I cleared my favorites list again. I then added someone to my favorites list. The name switched to the e-mail address. When I select the little blue arrow on the right, it points to the contact before her on the contact list.
There seems to be a stuck value in the phone with an erroneous memory pointer.

it says "applet notinited" in the status bar when i add the line:
setLayout(new FlowLayout());
or
setLayout(null);
"acting weird" is just because it acts wierd. there are no run time errors, it just acts weird. run it for yourself and see what i mean.
to describe more:
the first and second textfields are visible (sometimes) and the 3rd is not. the "calculate" button is visible only after you press it. and the textarea isnt visible, only the text inside it is... and everything changes once i minimize and maximize it...
basically a major glitch-out fest...

Weird graphical glitch - Aperture 2.1.1l

First, my system configuration is as follows:
Mac Pro (original 2006), OS X 10.5.4
ATI Radeon X1900XT with two monitors (24" 1920x1200 flat panel, 17" 1280x1024 flat panel)
Nvidia 7300GT with one monitor (17" 1280x1024 flat panel)
4GB of RAM
2x 250GB SATA hard drives.
Here's the problem. When I use Aperture, I frequently get a black screen in the photo area when I start editing a photo, particularly the levels control. I cannot see the photo once I start editing it, and when I switch to other photos it either randomly goes black or displays the photo with really bad color distortion.
If I export the photos and open them in Preview they look fine. It's only while being edited in Aperture that they look messed up. Also, if I use the fast preview feature (P to toggle it when browsing) the problem goes away. But of course this keeps me from adjusting photos which is the primary purpose of Aperture!
Has anyone else seen this problem? It's maddening that I spent $200 on this software and it has such obvious graphical glitches.

Your post got me to thinking, and I started fiddling with the displays.
When I unplug the 17" flat panel from the Nvidia 7300GT card, the problem goes away. It only seems to happen when that display is active.
It doesn't seem to matter how I connect the displays, if the head on the Nvidia card is activate the problem manifests.
So there's some sort of conflict between the video cards. This is odd, because *everything else* on the system works great. Heck, I like to drag playing videos off onto that head and it works beautifully.
Oh well, guess I'll have to unplug the monitor whenever I use Aperture until the bug is fixed. Still very annoyed, as it's all Apple hardware and shouldn't have these problems. What happened to "It just works"?

Weird Video Glitches on iPhone 3GS

Hi, I have a new iPhone 3GS that I got two weeks ago, but I've been running into encoding problems when watching videos:

This may end up being a hardware issue, but more than likely AppleCare will have you try these steps first and if no change, try restoring your iPhone with iTunes from your iPhone's backup first and if the same, restoring your iPhone as a new iPhone or not from your iPhone's backup.
If no change after any of these steps, more than likely your iPhone will be exchanged under warranty.

Weird Copy Glitch

Let me know if this glitch exists for anyone else; I haven't been able to find an open discussion on it yet. Write a line of text in messenger on an iPhone, beginning with a colon, for example:
:hello world
Copy the whole message, including the colon, then paste it back into the message. When I do this, the colon disappears. Not a big or important thing but thought it was an interesting little bug.

Weird sound glitch when copying timelines

I am editing a project in 16:9 PAL and my original timeline forces me to render before viewing my footage. New timelines let me see the footage without rendering BUT when I copy my old timeline into ANY new timeline, I get repeated audio sequences. Really weird. Any advice?

Weird display glitches with C2D MBP Rev B.

Hi,
I have experienced various display glitches on Leopard. I have a 256Mb ATI X1600. These problems never occured in Tiger. Here is an example:

They appear when I wake up from sleep, plug an external monitor or change the resolution.
I thought it was a third party issue. I made a fresh install of leopard... same problem.
I thought it was a video card issue so I launched Half life 2 in boot camp, no glitches.
The only problem similar I found was about a missing ATI RoM Xtender file. The fix didn't work.
Anyone has the same problem ?
So far I think that my MBP is a lemon, Apple replaced a DDRAM stick, the screen, the power cord, the battery and the superdrive.
I'll wait for the 10.5.1 update. If it is not fixed, I'll go to the Apple repair center.

well, I just returned from the Apple Store. They did open a Trouble Ticket for me and gave me a case #. The good news is we both (dude from the genius bar) agree its not a hardware issue so I did not have to send out my Mac. Since the problem is able to be re-produced for me he was able to see what Im talking about.

are you seeing green static when you open up Photo Booth (or iChat as well) and select the visual effects on the 3rd tab (moon, roller coaster, polka dots...)? Let me know if this does the same for you. Also, do go into apple and report this so we can hopefully raise a issue and get a fix sooner. The more of these show up, the sooner Apple will pay attention to it. I suspect it has to do with the Radeon X1600 since we both have the same video card.

PLEASE HELP!! Weird screen glitch in After Effects CS5.5?!? (Windows 7)

I was editing some videos in the trial of After Effects CS5.5, and I went to render something in full screen (I've been using it for two weeks now, and i've rendered in full screen before) and suddenly a bunch of error messages started popping up,and After Effects closed out. Now every time I open After Effects, its like the screen zooms in: I can't see my taskbar or my tools for after effects, or anything on the edges at all. Production Premiere and everything else works fine, but After Effects is always like this now. I've searched all the help centers, and google, and youtube, and I've found nothing. I also tried unistalling and reinstalling the Master Collection trial but it still came up in full screen.
PLEASE HELP I only have 12 days left on trial and I'm trying to finish one last video.

Try deleting your preferences. If that doesn't do it, Reboot, Use the Adobe Cleaner Tool, then re-install AE. If that doesn't work let us know. It's probably your preferences.

Very weird audio glitch! Any ideas?

When I command-click to draw blank recording space, if it's too close to the beginning of the timeline it shifts every other pre-recorded layer over one measure but keeps the audio only in the same place. So the result is the playback sound does not match the MIDI notes or real instrument recordings. Any new recorded material on new or old layers is automatically shifted down as well, but the playback audio remains in the same spot as it was recorded. To further complicate things, if I move any recorded material around or bring it back to the beginning of the timeline, the playback audio is at a fixed distance away from the recorded material, so the audio moves with it, just not synced to the visible notes or audio waves. I can repeat the problem originator (by command-clicking new recording space too close to the beginning of the timeline) over and over and it shifts every layer over more and more - displacing the audio from the visual bars more and more.
This isn't a one-time occurance either, I had this happen before but I was able to revert to a saved version. My problem is that I saved the project before trying to quit and relaunch Garageband, and now its permanently displaced. I'm hoping there is a fix so I don't have to re-record my whole project. Again, I've tried quiting and relaunching. And I've tried restarting my computer. Any other ideas? Has it happened to anyone else?

Maybe there are other people in my user pool having the same issue as him, but I haven't heard of it. He seems to be the only one, or a rare one.
