Weird message question

In start-up, since I upgraded to Mountan Lion I sometimes get this message, "This computer's host name "....name...-Imac-#.Local" is already in use on this network, The name has been changed to "...,nam...-Imac-new #.Local."" anyone know what this is about?

Unfortunately, it's an annoying bug in the software that has been reported here in these Forums before. We're all waiting for a fix in an Update.

Well the best thing you can do is call an apple specialist tomorrow because there closed today or talk straight up to the person that is currently hacking your apple ID. You can also change your password just try to login to apple id on a computer and say forgot password and it will lead you from there. Tell your family and Friends or who you were texting that thats not you.

Weird message on Iphone 5s, grey screen w white dismiss button

Hi all,
Here is my problem, since I've put a new sim card in my phone, there is a weird message that keeps on poping up (either my phone locked or if I'm using it). The screen turn grey with a white dismiss button, and I can't do anything but click on the dismiss button. Didn't see anything like this on the forum (only green or red dismiss button, so my problem might be different)
If anyone knows what's going on with my phone please let me know...

That happens sometimes if you try to hit a combination of numbers such as that to get your IMEI but instead trying to access a function that is not supported by your carrier
For example dialing *#06# will get you your IMEI number - doing this will actually reproduce the grey screen you speak of - but also show you a number
The question I would have is - was your phone ported from one carrier to another? If so it may be programmed to do some self diagnostic that is no longer available hence the message

Yes, I know. I have been working with HDV for some time. I am wondering why it doesn't render when it needs to.. the red and bright-green lines are above, and I've set the render settings such that ANYTHING I highlight and hit apple-R will render. But its not rendering at all.

Weird message every few days or weeks

Can someone tell me why I get this weird messages on my iPhone 4S with iOS 6.1.3?
I get these messages sometimes once a week or once a month, one time I got 2 of them one after another.

That's either a Flash SMS message that someone is sending to your iPhone or some sort of problem on your carrier.

I bought a new processor and motherboard, here in Brazil, how we are third world, I chosen an Athlon X2 4200+ and Abit AN52 then I will buy a DDR2 instead of replace the broken memory DDR1. I believe that solve now.

Weird messages when syncing

Hi, I got my ipod last christmas and this is the first time I've experienced a problem with it. Whenever I try and sync my ipod, a few songs will sync and then it will stop, and a message saying "The iPod "My iPod" canot be synced. The required disc cannot be found". I've updated the newest version, and when I try and restore it, another weird message comes up saying something like "an unknown error occurred" I've read through the user manuals and I've tried a few different things but nothing seems to work. Can anyone help?

Permissions repair on my system takes about 30 minutes.
Do you have a problem with your system?
I have used:
Cocktail
Onyx
And Booted into the original Leopard disk and used Disk Utility
If not, your post leads me to believe that you are over-maintaining, and over concerned.

Weird message showing up on Facebook/YouTube .

On every YouTube post on Facebook I am getting a weird message over the top blocking the YouTube post. The message says I am blocked due to my server not being allow and then this "http://fbexternal-a.akamaihd.net/embed/?

I've seen it too. If I had to guess iwth the external and embed in the link there's something wrong with the mechanism that embeds the video into facebook. Maybe a compromised server or glitch in the code.
May be totally unrelated but folks have been talking about some sort of sex tape virus going around on facebook. An effort to stop one thing could have messed upsomething else, or may be totally unrelated.
In any case, given its wide spread nature its unlikely to be an issue with individual ipads rather the app or service itself.

Weird Message on iPod

on my ipod, a weird message appears. it says:
*please wait..*
*run: Bl on*
*pass: Bl blink*
*Fail: Bl off*
*Reset to continue.*
When i try to reset it though, it will not work. Also neither itunes nor my computer recognizes my ipod

Go to MyComputer Properties>Hardware>Device Manager> Universal Bus Controllers and right click on Enhanced USB> Properties>Drivers>Update drivers. That solved the problem for me. Restore the ipod when it's recognized by the computer.

Weird message trying to uinstall package...

Sorry to disturb in this newsgroup but I'm receiving a weird message trying to uninstall Designer from my HD and receive a message from OUI software stating that it requires a newer version of OUI. In fact I'm uninstalling it because it gives a very weird message I posted before but nobody answered unfortunately. Therefore I will install Designer 10g afterwards and try to solve the problem...
I never had this problem before. The version I have is Installer 2.3.2.0. Is this correct or there is another version available? If so from where can I download it please?
The oracle configuration is:
- OS Windows XP Professional SP2
- Database 10g with Designer 91 in the same oracle home
- Developer 10g complete in its own oracle home
Any help will be greatly appreciated,

Thanks for the response. In fact there was a mistake in the first message:
I never had this problem before. The version I have is Installer 2.1 and I don't remember and next 2 nunmbers of the OUI version.
The above is what should have been written.
Should I just run OUI directly from the CD in the folder Developer 1/2 install win32?

Weird message at log in and now my mail is gone

Hello Apple Family, Last night I bought The Hobbit Extended Edition which had this digital download stuff through Vudu and Ultraviolet. I registered to get my digital download and had to install their software which never did work (and I contacted them).
But this morning I go to log in and my computer is frozen. I manually shut it down and log back in and I get this weird message from Mail about some mailbox needing a name (sorry i didn't screen captre it or write it down :-/. I clicked ok and opned my mail and all my mail was gone except my mail .mac account. Also, all of the archived mailboxes I had aren't showing up. My last time machine backup was Oct. 31st and I can do a restore from that but I'm copying files to my backup disk first which is taking forever.
I wondered if there was another way to restore besides time machine (it looks like mail was the only thing upset that I can tell). I went into my mail settings and started adding my other mail acocunts back in but the archived mail folders I made with literally thousands of emails is still not showing. Any advice is greatly appreciated! Blessings, Jen

Connect your iPhone or the IDE ice your using to a wall charger. plug the charger into the wall and press and hold the power and home button for 15 seconds. Wait 1 -5 minutes then press and hold the power button for 10 seconds release and you should see the apple logo appear on the screen after about 1 minute your Idevice will got to the lock screen as usual and your problem will be fixed.

Unable to subscribe to my podcast... weird message from iTunes. Ideas?

Help. I am unable to subscribe to my podcast...weird message from iTunes saying that The item I requested is currently not available in US stores. This a a FREE podcast and it appears that way when I do a search for it. However, it does not appear in the category I put it in.
When I go to Advanced and put in the URL manually it does work.... but that makes it difficult for viewers. I want them to see it in Podcasts>Arts & Entertainment>Photography and then be able to subscribe.
What can I do now?

Is your library located in the Pictures folder? See if you can do the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #1, Repair Permissions, followed by Option #4, Rebuild Database if necessary.
Also to see if you've inadvertently installed some malware or adware download and run Etrecheck. Copy and paste the results into your reply. Weird message comes up when Ipod is on

Recently I turned on my ipod touch after downloading an application and a weird message comes on(#1). i try to plug ipod into computer just as a basic troubleshoot idea. but then the message adds on(#2). 2 seconds later it adds on (#3)
so after that happens this is the total result (#4)
This is what comes up when I plug in Ipod touch:
