Weird Outlook prob

I have a Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra. When I use the Creative Sync Manager, Outlook goes nuts. Its icon blinks on the taskbar and the only way to make it stop is to reboot the computer. I have looked all over and cannot find a setting that will stop this behavior.
What else can I try?

The only thing I can think of is the Sync manager may be attempting to check the calendar / tasks / contacts and Outlook is trying to bring up a "warning: do you wish to allow this" warning.
Do you have any pop-up blockers or other utilities that interact with Outlook?
Edit: That doesn't make much sense however now that I think about which player you have. Sorry about that. Do you happen to use a player that DOES have the contacts / outlook sync features? Perhaps another player that this version was installed for?

Muvo TX FM weird connection prob

Hy everybody! Im from Germany, but bought my MUVO 256 TX FM over the internet about a year ago, and it worked quite well all this time, untill last week!
The weird thing is that the player works just fine, I can listen to the music already stored inside, but when I connect it to any computer (I tried about 5 different now), there is no response at all!! It is not even recognized as 'new hardware' or 'other hardware' in the device manager!!
However, the player shows the tipical "connected" screen when I plug it in!

It should be in the manual... but basically you connect the player to the PC and it should appear as a dri've letter in Windows Explorer. You then copy supported audio files e.g. WMA, MP3, to the player as the dri've letter. Once copied you disconnect the player and the songs should be there and available to play.

Weird Outlook Express Error

Hi, I use MacOS 9.2.2 and OutLook Express 5.0.6. I have two email accounts. Lately whenever I go to retrieve email on one of the two email accounts, I get the following error description window: "Error: A message in your Outbox could not be sent. The server did not recognize the recipients. Explanation:
5.1.1 <[email protected]> recipient invalid domain. Error: 5550
But, when I close the error message box my email is delivered. The other email account works just fine. Is there a fix?

Weird Registration Prob

Hey everyone... I'm having a weird registration problem. So I just got a Creative Zen Vision 60GB and I installed it comepletely and after about a week I started getting a pop-up screen on my desktop that says "Gentle Reminder: Register your Creative products now to enjoy a host of benefits." So of course I registered it but that pop up continues to be on my desktop ALL the time and I have tried everything I can think of to get rid of it. If I X out if it, it takes me to another pop-up "If you are registering portable products, please ensure that they are connected and switched on before clicking on the OK button" If I click OK it goes on with the registration process. I have uninstalled all Creative components on my computer but the pop-up remained every time I turned on the computer. I re-installed everything. Same problem. Can anyone help me? This is driving me nuts!

Have you tried selecting the option where you don't want to register, and select for it to not remind you Or does it still pop up then If you tried that and it didn't work, you can manually stop it from starting up in Start-> Run-> then type MSCONFIG. Under StartUp you'll see a list of programs that load automatically when Windows starts, if you untick it there it won't start up again.

Weird microphone probs with Z10

Hi there,
as already said as part of another post:
I´m having (also) trouble with my Z10 built in microphone.
Audiorecording works fine and crispy clear, so I can assume the mic is just working, but when it comes to phone functionalities, this is where the weird behaviour starts!
Initiating or answering phones directly in "handset" mode is no problem, but the mic is muted some how!
Whe I switch to hands-free-speaker, my voice is directly loud and crystal clear again. When putting it back to handset mode, turning the speaker off, the mic immediately becomes muted again.
Connecting a bluetooth headset (bose BT 002) or the factory issued speakerphones "re-connects" the mic directly again, loud, crisp and crystal clear.
unplugging/unpairing these devices results in "strike" from the mic.
I already took the battery out for several minutes, deactivated my alarm settings and unchecked the "automatic pair" checkbox in bluetooth, but it all had no effect so far!
Since I use my Z10 also and mainly for business, this is pretty awkward

Weird Outlook attachment issue

Hello,
I am having a strange issue with attachments in Outlook 2010. User A sends a message to User B and User C with an Excel attachment. User B cannot open the email getting error "Excel cannot open the file '...' because the file format or file extension
is not valid. Verify that the file has not been corrupted and that the file extension matches the format of the file." However, User B has access to User C's inbox and can open the message from his inbox with no error.
I have tried saving the attachment locally then trying to open it, disabling Outlook addins one by one, changing file extensions. I also noticed that the attachment size on User B is 134 bytes but on User C (the working account) the attachment size is 12
kilobytes. This seems to happen to random attachments that are sent to User B.
All email accounts involved are Exchange accounts. The user is a remote user accessing Outlook and Excel through Citrix. I also cannot open the attachment on my PC with a local copy of office. Any help is appreciated.

Let's do some tests about the problem.
Let user A send a message with an Excel attachment to user B. User B should not be using Outlook and only logging on OWA to check the attachment. Has the attachment size changed? Can it be opened in Excel?
I actually suspect it's something on user B's client that changed the Excel attachment. It doesn't help troubleshoot the issue to disable the add-ins after the attachment was received. The other test is to let user B start Outlook in Safe Mode before the
attachment is sent:
Press Win + R, type "outlook.exe /safe" in the blank box, press Enter.
Please also make sure the anti-virus program and firewall have been disabled temporarily.
Then we can let use A send the attachment again to check the result. If there's no problem receiving and opening the attachment, it may be some add-ins or the security program that changed the attachment.

Zen Xtra weird skipping prob

On my girlfriend's Zen Xtra 40gb, we have a really odd skipping problem. At seemingly random intervals, the player seems to insert split second sections of other songs into whatever's playing. It's really rather disconcerting. I've tried formatting and updating the firmware, but it's made no difference. Any ideas?

I also have this player and "sometimes" mine has the same problem.
The way i fix this is take out the "skipping" tracks out of "selected music" then put them back in and that will sort the problem. Well it does for me.

Weird centering prob

Ok, so I've looked though the knowledge base and the sticky threads here a bit, but this is just such an odd issue I didn't know exactly where to turn.
The problem is that on my SBLi've (original with li'vedri've) I get this odd problem when playing back music. That is, every time I restart a song, the center seems to toggle from correctly centered to left focused.
So I play a song and it sounds alight, but if I restart it, it's all in the left speaker.
I've tried a couple different players: Winamp, foobar, WMP and it seems to depend on what output I'm using. The standard WaveOut that WMP uses sounds like **bleep**, and for some reason is balenced way to the *right*... so I just nixed that, I also get this same behavior when I turn off Hardware accelleration on DirectSound.
So when I use DirectSound, with hardware acelleration turned on, every other time it initalizes the buffer, the center shifts...
So yeah... What the hell..

Events imported from Outlook cannot be editted

We just got a new MBP, and had the Apple Store transfer a PC's Outlook Calendar to iCal. All the events are there, but none can be editted. They seem to have been locked somehow in Outlook, but none of us can figure out how.
I'm also going to check in on some Outlook forum, but I thought I'd post this here as well: anyone here ever experience this or know what it could be?

We can add events to this calendar, and they work fine. There's no Subscriptions.
BUT ... what we did find is that if we just select events, then hit Cut and then Paste, they stay in the right time and day as they were, and now can be edited!
It's some weird Outlook thing ... one more reason to have switched.

Outlook Client recurring appointments time zone / GMT offset problem

I will try to describe this with text, although it's a very visual problem. I added a post to my blog with
it so I could include pictures. If you think you need pictures to understand the text below, please review that entry.  Please note, the one appointment instance cited below, is an example, there are many others with this same problem,
and it only happens with recurring appointments.
Relevant System Information:
Windows 7 Utlimate
Office 2010 Professional Plus (14.0.6023.1000 64-bit)
Exchange services hosted by Microsoft.
Android HTC Inspire 4G also configured as exchange active sync client.
Issue Description:
I have a specifications meeting that is scheduled for Tuesday mornings (every 2 weeks) at 8:30 am. In the body of the appointment, it even has this text spelled out. "When: Occurs every 2 weeks on Tuesday effective 11/23/2010 from 8:30
AM to 11:30 AM (UTC-05:00) Eastern Time (US & Canada)." as an indicator of the actual appointment time. The problem is that one day, several weeks after this appointment had been sent to me, Outlook 2010 decided that it was really at 1:30 PM.
Since that time it's been showing incorrectly on my calendar at 1:30 PM.   So, I recognized almost immediately that this was a 5 hour difference, which happens to also be my timezone offset (except that I'm currently in daylight savings time -- so
it's really a -4 offset right now).
I ran the 2010 service pack 1 installer, based on the suggestion of my IT group, and found I already had the service pack installed. I've tried the timezone tool as well and that didn't work. Please keep reading.
Next I went to my exchange host with outlook web access.   The appointment is closer to correct there, showing at 9:30am. It think here it almost seems as though it's applying the DST, but not correctly, maybe doubling it?.
Meanwhile, back in outlook, if I go to the scheduling assistant and look at my time while making an appointment with other invitees it - much to my surprise - matches the time in OWA, not the time in outlook client.
Finally, if I go to my Android and look at the appointment, it is correct. 8:30 AM.
So to summarize:
Real Appoinment:   8:30 AM
Outlook Client Time: 1:30 PM
OWA / Exchange Time: 9:30 AM
Android Calendar Time: 8:30 AM
This applies to many others, this is just a convenient example.
This applies only to recurring appointments.
Any help would be very appreciated.

Status Update, and recommended next steps:
I opened a ticket with HTC support the day before yesterday (Ticket # 03543601). The initial response was an email reply with the typical level one suggestion to remove and re-add the Exchange ActiveSync account on my phone, and if that didn't resolve the
issue to do a hard reset and then add the account again. Since I have multiple users experiencing this same issue, where the common denominator seems to be centralized around the move from Outlook 2007 to 2010 and the HTC Gingerbread OS, I convinced them that
this would not be an acceptable remedy, and my case was immediately escalated without hesitation. I will say that though I don't have a resolution, I'll applaud HTC for not giving me the runaround and giving me a live person who could talk intelligently about
the issue.
Today, I received a phone call back on this ticket from someone in the escalations department at HTC named Travis. After explaining the issue in detail to him and referencing
this specific thread, he acknowledged that it did in fact sound like a coding issue coming from the device where the value in the “dispidApptTZDefStartDisplay” property was being set improperly by the device/stock email/calendar application in their implementation
of ActiveSync. He then stated that he would relay this to the developers to look into the issue. He further elaborated that the case would either be in a status of, "this is being looked into", or "We believe this to be resolved in [x] update". He said that
they will probably continue releasing updates for the Incredible (I did not specifically ask about the Incredible 2), and while the Incredible 2 is definitely slated to get Ice Cream Sandwich, the Incredible one is still in a classification of, "being evaluated".
Personally, I doubt that the Inc 1 will get ICS, but it is possible. From what I have read, the general stance is that phones will be updated for 18 months after release, and the Inc 1 is 24 months old this month (bummer - I REALLY like this phone).
According to Verizon and HTC, these are the phones that will get ICS (or Android 4.0):

While it is possible that an update will be released for the Incredible 1 to fix this issue, it will likely be months before one is available, so we'll probably have to move to Touchdown for Exchange by NitroDesk in order to resolve this issue....or move to
a newer phone with ICS 4.0.
Speaking of which, there is a whole laundry list of issues with Exchange ActiveSync and third-party devices. A number of them are listed in this Microsoft KB article:

So, for anyone on Android experiencing this issue (or others listed in the Microsoft KB above), if your phone is likely to get ICS soon, then you may want to hold on and just be vigilant about checking your calendar on OWA. If your phone isn't slated to get
ICS or if you can't wait, my recommendation is to get Touchdown for $20. You may still have to delete and re-create appointments that are wrong, but hopefully the issue won't happen any more once you move to Touchdown. And if they do, at least you've got a
shot at a more rapid fix with a company like NitroDesk. (no offense HTC).
Good luck. I probably won't post again unless I get notice of a fix for this specific issue or some other significantly useful information.

This is not a common problem and probably not related to the JRE directly. You have something installed on your system that is doing this. I hope for you it is some sort of trigger happy protection software which you can control yourself, but I would consider doing a full spyware, malware and virusscan sweep using a respectable piece of scanning software.
If you want to believe it is related to Java, then completely uninstall your JRE/JDK, do a ccleaner registry cleanup and then reinstall the JRE/JDK. If the problem persists, it really is not the JRE.

ACE20 Module with Exchange 2010 Configuration

Hello all,
I have deployed the following configuration for Exchange 2010, if all services are up on the two servers it functions good but if a service goes down on one server (especially outlook) some clients are disconnected (stickiness) ...
Stickiness is needed for all services by ip source sticky and by coockies for OWA.
Because all services are on the same server (ip address) the configured sticky causes problems !!! when a service is down the ACE usually forwards requests to it !!!! Any help please.

Return rows when there is a certain difference between dates

Hello.
I have table called
#president#
pres_name
birth_date
and
#winner#
name
year_elected
I would like to have all presidents returned, who where under the age 50 when they where elected.
year_elected is only a 4 digit number; 1924 etc while birth_date is 2001-01-01 etc.
I have no idea how to make this work, ive tried substr and alot of other weird (and prob wrong) stuff.
select distinct p.pres_name, substr(p.birth_date, 0, 4), w.year_elected
from president p, winner w
where p.pres_name = w.nameI did this query witch will show me all presidents, and their dates of election and date of birth. Now i just want something that only returns the guys where its a 49 (?) value difference between birth_date and year_elected

Hacked and accounts absorbed by a different acc

So its around 1:32 am in the morning and something extremely weird happened that i cant even use my phone anymore.
So it started by someone trying to add me on facetime it was a weird acc *****@outlook.jp which I denied and I didn't give much importance to it...
Today I tried to update my apps since I swap between 2 phones an android and my iPhone.
Every time I tried to update my apps iTunes or iCloud kept saying that my psw was wrong. Which it wasn't, so I though maybe I did forgot. So I went back and reset but it still didn't work.
After that I factory reseted which didn't do anything at all. Kept saying that the psw was bad. So I decided to restore it with my computer. Which btw work fine I put my email(icloud acc) I went through just fine and then I got prompt up to this window which lists my e-mail acc which I have like 3 of them.
But the weird thing is the email ****@outlook.jp showed up in there which CLEARLY was not my acc so I unchecked it. After few screen over the phone was set up
But it wasn't mine anymore it started showing that ****@outlook.jp and i mean how did it got there?
I've never chose it in the first place. Its not my account and it all started by this person trying to add me.. Now my phone has the Find my Phone feature which while setting it up I didn't even check it.
I have no idea whats going on but I had to delete all my personal data from icloud, e-mail , and others. I don't know if any of you went through this situation but its clearly not pleasant.
If any of you know a way that I could fix this problem which I don't know if its possible.
And one more thing before I forgot All my accounts are linked to that weird *****outlook.jp. This is a new account I just created..
I'll be more than happy if I really could fix this problem.

ITunes/Outlook 2007/ Windows 7 sync prob

Outlook 2007 sync issue with iTunes 10.4.0.80 on Windows 7. This config has been working ok syncing with outlook calendar and contacts. All of a sudden iTunes no longer sees outlook as an option for syncing under 'info' and the contact/calendar syncing has stopped working. The checkbox works but the drop down box next to 'Sync contacts with...' is empty. I have made sure the itunes addin for outlook is working. I have tried uninstalling itunes as per HT1923 and reinstalled but no good. I have tried reinstalling outlook but again not progress.
Any ideas?
The only thing I have done is some HD partition maintenace (to recover some unused space from an OEM recovery partition) which I can't see would be related as all other software still works perfectly.

Lots of people have viewed my prob but no suggestions. Guess this is indication of extent of iTunes probs!! Anyway, for anyone in same situation I have just found the solution:
1. Close iTunes down
2. Navigate to C:/Users/{YOUR ACCOUNT}/AppData/Roaming/Apple Computer/
3. Remove the contents of /SyncServices/
4. Start iTunes
5. Connect iPhone
Hope this helps someone in future!
