Weird PC Suite problems

I have been running PC Suite on my office computer with minor niggles. When I installed on my home computer have had nothing but problems.
Office - In Explorer icon is Phone Browser
Home - 2 icons Phone & Camera
Office - Click message button in PCsuite, opens explorer & drills down to the messages folder & updates from phone
Home - opens explorer at the folder from which PC Suite downloaded & installed. Does that for phonebook as well.
Office - Device manager shows Portable devices>Nokia N95 as diabled. Everytime I plug the phone in it finds a new device & tries & fails to install. After 5 un/re-installs & running registry cleaners have learned to live with it.
Home - No problems with Portable Devices
Home - Phone is connected but cant sync. Pressing the Settings & Sync buttons does nothing. Select Phone shows I'm connected.
Its the same install file being used, then why the differences in the installations? No wonder the forums are full with people seeking help.
If someone can point me in the right direction to solve my Home computer sync problems I'd be extremely grateful.

You could try to run Repair for the connectivity solution for your home PC and then reboot.
For home PC, what happens if you disable the portable device and then enable it? Does it help? You could also try to repair the connectivity solution in your work pc, hopefully it does not break it..

  • Some playlists don't show up - weird iPod syncing problems

    Apologies if this question has been answered elsewhere - couldn't find the answer when I was searching the boards last night. Don't know if this is an iTunes problem or an issue with the touch...
    Last night, I plugged my iPod touch (1G) into my MacPro to add some new music. This is when things got weird!
    First, I noticed that my iPod's name had mysteriously changed since the last time I synced it. It used to be called "Christine's iPod" and now it has reverted to the default "iPod touch."
    Next, when I went to add some different playlists to the iPod, I noticed that one of the playlists I wanted to add didn't show up in the Music tab, so I couldn't "tick" it for inclusion on the iPod. This isn't a new playlist, and I have successfully synced it with this iPod in the past. I tried renaming the playlist and making a new playlist with the same songs, and neither of these playlists showed up either. BTW, I definitely don't have too many playlists - I probably have 100-150 playlists total.
    Anyway, I restored my iPod and starting from scratch - and the playlist still didn't appear to be available to sync. I ended up adding the playlist by "manually managing" my music, but this isn't an ideal solution. I'd like to be able to sync the playlist!!
    Don't know if it's relevant, but my bf also has an iPod touch that he syncs to the same iTunes account. We have separate computer logins, and our iTunes Library is on a shared disk on our MacPro (to prevent needlessly wasting HD space due to song replication) and occasionally we both get messages saying we don't own or don't have permission to access the Library when opening iTunes. To solve this, we alter the permissions on the disk and apply to enclosed items. Maybe this happens after updating iTunes or adding new songs? Not certain what triggers it.

    This isn't foolproof but there are usually two things that contribute to songs not appearing under Artist on the iPod, both due to information either in or missing from the Get Info>Info tab against the song in iTunes. 1) the song has no album name associated with it or 2) the song is marked as part of a compilation.
    If tracks are missing an Album name (as mentioned above) in the Info tab, this information needs to be filled in. The no album one is a bit quirky as the songs will appear under certain circumstances but the simplest remedy is just add None or Miscellaneous in place of a title. See this link for more detail: I don't see some of my songs when browsing by artist on my iPod
    Also if the tracks are ticked in the Get Info>Info tab as part of a compilation, they will not appear under Artist on the iPod. Highlight a song in iTunes that you know is not appearing correctly on your iPod. Right click on it and choose Get Info and click the Info tab (alternatively choose Get Info from the File menu), if "Part of a Compilation" is marked untick it and afterwards update your iPod, you should find it now appears as normal. Compilations are stored in a separate folder in iTunes so the songs don't appear inside the normal Artist>Album folder which may be why this happens.

  • Weird event display problem in week view

    Hi. I'm getting a weird display problem in week view. First time this has ever happened.
    Some events appear to be missing, but when i double click on where I know the event is supposed to be, a new event is created (as excepted), and the missing events suddenly appear. When i move forward or back by a week, and then return to the week in question, the missing events are gone again. But, I can see the missing events in day view or month view.
    Any ideas?

    Next, try reinstalling the Mac OS X v10.6.2 Update (Combo).
    If that is unsuccessful:
    1. Use iCal>Export...>for each one of your individual calendars.
    2. Delete all but one of your calendars.
    3. Create a calendar and name it "Test."
    4. Delete the calendar which remained after step #2.
    5. Quit iCal.
    6. Remove the iCal plist, and drag the iCal plist file to your Desktop.
    7. Log out/in or restart.
    8. Restart iCal and use iCal>File>Import...for each one of the calendars that you exported in step #1.
    9. Delete the "Test" calendar, and any "Home/Work" calendar which was automatically created when you opened iCal in step #8.

  • Weird Internet Explorer problem!

    Something really stranged has happened to my computer within the past couple of hours. I use IE 5 (yeah, I know...I am hopelessly out of date, but it has all my bookmarks and preferences and I like the way it functions much better than any other browser I've tried...). A little while ago I was doing some surfing and I guess something I did--some page I visited?--caused my Command key to be tied in to Subscriptions. I don't understand how this could be, but it's true. If I want to do something like copy + paste, or something else I might normally use the Command key for, I can't do it. Instead, my pushing the Command key causes a window to pop up asking if I wish to subscribe to the site in question. (Actually, at first, whenever I pushed Command, my subscriptions were updated, so I went in and deleted all my subscriptions, but that didn't take care of the underlying problem.)
    I am not particularly computer literate. For instance, I can't even tell you what the bar across the top of my screen is called (the one that starts on the left with the Apple logo, followed by File, Edit, View, Go, etc.). But I can tell you that that bar, when I'm in IE, is fouled up. After "Go," there is a bunch of garbled stuff that reads, approximately (I can't type all the symbols), "p[symbols]>Favorites[symbol]AddPagetoFavoritesD[checkmark]OrganizeFavorites[bu nch of other symbols ending in a black apple]Update Su." Then the bar continues with Tools, Window, and Help. When I click on that bar and the dropdown menu appears, it is some weird, mangled, unusable version of my bookmarks. However, if I use the Favorites tab on the left side of the window, my bookmarks are there and usable.
    I've poked all around in Help and Preferences and, not surprisingly, cannot find any way to undo this. (I'd be amazed if I actually found something telling me what to do if my Command key brings up my subscription window!) It's really unfortunate because, as I said, I like IE and this is making it pretty hard for me to use it, since I can't do anything involving the Command key.
    Have any of you ever encountered this? It is about the weirdest thing my computer has ever done!

    Hmmmm. Are you getting problems with disappearing

    programs or when you open your HD - any strangeness
    with the titles in the windows?
    It seems only to be in IE. By the way, I also have a Mozilla browser on my computer, which I installed because so many sites were simply not working with IE anymore. Mozilla is working fine. If I liked Mozilla as well as IE, I'd just use that, but it has numerous differences (mostly about commands and things like not being able to click and hold on an image or page to open it in a new window) and 9 times out of 10 I prefer the IE way of doing things (though that could mostly be habit).
    IIRC, Microsoft is set to remove Internet Explorer
    for Mac from it's website VERY soon..
    Yeah, I think in April. It's too bad--IE for Mac has become the unwanted stepchild browser.Yahoo doesn't work with it (at least, not the version I have), and I frequently get alerts when I go to sites that tell me my experience won't be optimal since I'm using IE. But I really like it! I use Safari at work (I have OS X there) and, like Mozilla, it has various differences that bug me, plus it just looks strange--somehow less "live" than IE--as if I am looking at a PDF of a web page rather than the actual page.
    In a pinch, there's also iCab which is a wonderful
    browser that is still being developed for OS 9.

    My Nokia PC Suite just notified me there is a new version. I had no problems running the previous version under my Vista but thought - what the hell, let's see what's new.
    It turns out the upgrade disabled my internet connectivity (one touch access says no modem found), PC Sync is not working (cannot synchronise and when I click the "settings" button nothing happens) and I don't see the Nokia Phone Browser in Windows Explorer.
    Tried reinstalling the Suite and connected apps, did not help.
    Am I the only one with such problem?

    Hi.
    I've got exactly the same problem. Upgraded from 6.81 to 6.84. I don't really care about 'many' options that pc suite offers, I just want to know WHY THE HELL when I press the SETTING button in PC Sync NOTHING HAPPENS??
    I'm really anoyed now, can't sync my data at all. Thanks to you nokia developers...
    I'm also running windows vista 32bit and don't tell me I should use a system restore option as it doesn't work even... Believe me, I've tried it not only once. After the restore, it says that I need to reinstall the pc suite... very funny.

  • CS6 Master Suite problem with Photo shop

    I have a new macbook pro ( mid 2012 ) and it has the intel core i5 processor.  I just installed the CS6 Master Suite and everything works fine except for Photoshop.  I get the message : You can’t open the application “Adobe Photoshop CS6” because it is not supported on this type of Mac.  Any ideas?  Thanks

    Thank you for your response.  Yes it meets all the system requirments.  As a matter of fact I had I had this same software installed on another macbook exactly like this one and had no problem with it.  That's why I just don't understand why I'm having trouble on this one.

    I think you haven't start the server.So the program is trying to connect to the server and is raising the exception.

  • PC Suite Problem

    Hello
    I am having problems with Nokia PC Suite version 6.85.14.1, on a Vista Home Premium laptop, running Norton INternet Security. Phone is Nokia E65.
    I've had problems when trying Bluetooth and cable connection.
    After I install PC Suite it works normally for a few days then each time I want to connect whether by bluetooth or cable I have to repair the PC Suite and connectivity driver etc.
    I tried the PC Suite Cleaner, but says it doen't work with Vista. Please Help!!
    I rely on being able to sync pc n phone and this is driving me crazy!!!

    i have the same problem, but i have this error message: "There is no avaible connection type and therefore connection to phone cannot be established. The wizard will exit."
    And in the connection manager i have none connection avaible to choose.

  • 6630 pc suite problem

    Having problems with the above software, it will not install on my system properly. Cannot see it in add delete list but it shows on the quike start menu, when I click on the quike start icon I get the pc suite screen up however, when I try to connect nothing happens? I have got one error message which says "error:-3 Patch Package".

    It's Version 6.6 and I am using Windows XP pro. I have had to reinstall windows due to a problem with my USB ports, the old windows worked with the nokia software ok and the old windows is still installed on the hard drive, so I uninstalled the software on the old system but still no luck installing on the new setup??

    I have the latest version of Nokia PC Suite installed and recently I've updated my Nokia E50 to the latest software version 7.13.00 When I try to make backup of the memory with Nokia Content Copier, everything is ok, but when I have to restore phone memory from this backup, I can't edit my profiles anymore and every function, related to the phone's book ( including programs for contacts manipulations ) isn't working anymore. Is anyone have the same problem?

  • PC Suite Problem with N73 - Synchs but other apps ...

    Hope someone can help - Have an N73 and using the latest PC Suite - running windows XP with service pack 2.
    I can connect OK to PC Suite - though often teh phone isn't detected so I have to start again. But usually can connect and synchronize no problem. I can also get file manager to work. But Back up, install applications, store images, transfer music all cause PC suite to close. I get the standard MS error box (this appication has encoutered a problem and has had to close, and the option to send an error report to MS.
    got Back up to start once, but it said there was no phone connected (despite the fact that I had hust synched successfully).
    I have uninstalled and reinstalled PC suite. I have used the PC suite cleaner, in safe mode, and reinstalled again. Still no success.
    Any ideas?

    the message depends on the app. I am trying to run
    when I click on 'About' in the menu, the program stops! I get the error message 'LaunchApplication.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".
    I am connecting via the cable (CA-53) supplied with my N73 phone.
    The following applications don't seem to work:
    Back up. Begins to run, then get the error message contentcopier has encountered a problem and needs to close
    Synchronize works fine
    Install applications gets the error message 'Nokia application installer has encountered a problem and needs to close'
    File manager works OK
    Contacts - Opens up phone browser but when I click on the contacts icon, the interface opens up then I get error message appears "contact manager.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close
    Message - Opens up phone browser but when I click on the message icon the error message appears "text message editor has encountered a problem and needs to close
    View multimedia works OK
    Image store - gets the error message 'Image store has encountered a problem and needs to close'
    Transfer music works ok

  • Weird bzr upgrade problem

    Whenever I run pacman -Syu or pacman -Syyu, even after running pacman -Scc, it always upgrades bzr to version "bzr-1.3-1.1", it does it every time, has been doing it for about a week and I have no clue why, I tried changing the mirror, but it makes no difference, it just keeps upgrading bzr, even if I've already upgraded it many times.
    It's not too annoying, but I would like to know if there's something in my config that is making it behave weird (I have testing enabled, so it might be that, although it says it installs the package from extra?)

  • Access to package through database adapter in Soa suite problems

    We have to build a bpel process that inserts data in Oracle EBS custom tables. We have to use Soa suite 10.1.3.4.0.
    In Oracle EBS we have made a custom api with a pl/sql record and 2 pl/sql tables as argument.
    When i made a database adapter, Jdeveloper made a wrapper package to translate to this custom api.
    Under the user apps this works fine.
    But I have the following problem: Our customer does not want us to connect to apps schema direct.
    So we made another user that is granted to the custom api , the wrapper api and the types for the wrapper api.
    I even created public synonyms for all these objects.
    But still runtime in BPEL console these errors occurs:

    Are the types defined in the same way in both schema's?
    Vaguely remember that there was some restriction to use DB and EBS adapter that types had to be owned by the schema that was connecting to it. Please check the docs for this.
