Weird problem XP freezes after system was off for several hours after upgrading to X

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G, Athlon 64 X2 3800 AM2, GB PC 3200, XFX Geforce 7600GT, 80 GB system dri've Barracuda 7200, Sata Raid 2x 300 GB Maxtor DiamondMax0, PSU Seasonic 600W, Ralink Wireless PCI card, Sony floppy, Pioneer DVR
After the installation of the new soundcard I could reboot initially but not reboot when I used the PC a few hours/next day later. The blue XP indicator bar would freeze. Tried several re-installs. Then I re-installed everything including XP from the beginning. When re-installing the graphics card driver (old and latest version) system would hang with a blinking cursor.
I also updated BIOS successfully to F6. Full re-installation -everything seemed to work. Re-booted several times- OK. Booted a few hours later- XP freezes when blue indicator bar has ben running for a few seconds.
I have now the latest drivers for both soundcard, graphics card, BIOS and latest DirectX installed. I cannot understand why the system would reboot immediately after installation but freeze a few hours later. Is this some kind of hardware problem ?
my friend and I using same components and we both have same problem!!
REMOVING the X-Fi card solves the problem

Ok, tried these installations:?Clean XP Install --> Mainboard Drivers --> Video Drivers --> Audio DriversClean XP Install --> Video Drivers --> Mainboard Drivers --> Audio DriversClean XP Install --> Audio Drivers --> Mainboard Drivers --> Video Drivers?I continued with several other reinstalls. After each one, Windows had NO PROBLEM rebooting and loading into the XP desktop. IF you turned off the PC, though, and back on again, Windows would lock up at the loading screen with the scrolling blue bar. Likewise, I still encountered the blinking cursor error when installing the video drivers AFTER the audio drivers but not vice versa. Either way, when I turned off the PC for the 'ultimate' deciding-test, X-Fi would not allow Windows to post. I pulled the X-Fi card out and voila, Windows loaded with no problems whatsoever. Of course I had no sound because they weren't the drivers for an SB Li've! 24-bit, you get the idea. My system is:?AMD 4600+ AM2GA-M55Plus-S3G (Gigabyte mainboard, rev .)2GB Corsair XMSPro Series DDR2-800 RAMeVGA 8800GTX PCI-e video cardMemorex DVDR+/-WWD 250GB SATAII HDSBLi've! 24-bit sound card?I was trying to upgrade to an X-Fi Fatalty Professional Gamer (without the I/O panel). I had no idea stupid NForce4 boards were incompatible with certain X-Fi products (and vice versa). Can anyone suggest some alterior sound cards that would work with mine and the second posters board? Or, recommend a suitable mainboard that is relati'vely 'new' and works flawlessly with the X-Fi series, so I don't run into a stupid issue like this again? I daresay, Creative, I've been a longtime supporter of your cards for YEARS, all the way back to 995 and THIS is unbelievable. One last question, has ANYONE tried the Fatalty series X-Fi on an actual Fatalty series mainboard?Message Edited by cookiemanx on 2-05-20062:08 AM

  • If BW system is down for several hours, what will be the status of the Jobs

    Hello Gurus,
I don't know where i should post this issues! anyways .....! i need some information. One of our BW production system will be down for about 12 hours tomarrow to move it on to new hardware and this current system has lots of scheduled jobs with run daily and hourly..! so my question is ..what will be the status of this jobs which fall in between this down time?
as per our basis team information....they said that all these jobs will be queued up and when once the system is online ...these jobs will access all the avalable processess and if this thing happen....! then the system will have a VERY BAD performance and user cannot use this BW system...they cannot even open the bex analyzer.
so...i thought of deleting these queued jobs. can any one tell me WILL THESE JOBS WILL BE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT DAY??? OR IS THERE ANY OTHER WHY TO CONTROL THIS SITUATION?? our process chains are locked for modification..so, we cannot even re-schedule them in prod system.....
aaaaaah! can any one HELPP MEEEEE@
I will award full points for your suggestion

    Hi,
when you'll restart you SAP system all jobs will be displayed with a delay since they didn't run during your downtime.
And that's true that they will be queued and fired as soon as a system resource will be available. That means a lot of paralel processes with system overload and usually subsequent errors in loading data.
As per suggested already, the best would be to shift the scheduling.
Another option is to execute the report BTCTRNS1 before shutting the system down. This will change all background job status to a "suspended" mode.
when your system is up again you will be able to release (or reschedule or cancel or any other action) single jobs in a controlled manner.
When you've finished with this task then don't forget to run BTCTRNS2 in order to enable background jobs to be executed.
    hope that helps...
    Olivier.

  • Blank Screen For Several Hours After Box Trying To...

Just an FYI, that my BT Vision+ box started to upgrade itself on Thursday the 19th (today is Sat the 21st). After several automatic reboots, and update / dowloading software screens, it would always just reach a blank screen and get no futher.
Occasionally, along the way there would be a VDR016 error code (can't find a link to that error code), the screen told me it's a network error. The error would always right itself by "successfully downloading and installing the software". Anyway, it would always lead (eventually) to a blank screen.
Over the next 36 hours, I followed the first 2 solutions in the following thread a couple of times: BT Vision Box Reset Process. to no avail. So I ended up on solution 3, the factory reset.
Thankfully, it worked, but as expected, all my recordings have been wiped (including programs for my young children no longer available on catch-up).
I really think that because these boxes are more flaky than Microsoft Windows (sudden reboots every now  and again and now this), there should be some way of backing up recordings, either online on BT servers, or "offline", e.g. on a local network.
Btw, 30 mins after completing full reset, the EPG still only showed the next hours TV. It took a bit of time for the EPG data to download, but it did.

Try closing unused applications that you have running in the background.
From the home screen, touch the applications tab (located on the bottom of the screen).
    Touch Settings.
    Touch Applications.
    Touch Running services.
    Touch the desired service.
    Touch Stop.
Try deleting old messages  that you no longer need, to clear phone memory.
If you are using a task manager or application manager, try setting it to high to close applications.

I  recently purchased an iphone4 after owning a itouch for several years.after syncing ,only 37 out of over 500 contacts came across to the new phone.any ideas what i'm doing wrong

Did you already try to reset the sync history?
If you find that some of your data syncs to your device but you see an unexpected number of changes or modifications, you may need to reset your sync history. This causes iTunes to prompt to Merge or Replace information on the device when you next attempt to sync your information. To reset your Sync History:
    Open iTunes.
From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.
    Click the Devices tab.
Click the Reset Sync History button.

    Hi,
In Messages on the Mac do you have the Preferences > Messages section set to "Save History when Conversations are Closed" ?
This will store all IMs and iMessages in ~/Library/Messages/Archive.
Use the Finder > Go Menu > Go to Folder and type that path into the Dialogue box that appears. (~/Library/Messages/Archive).
They are stored in dated folders so some guessing/trail and error will be needed.
You may find that if this was an iMessage and you  send the person a new message that the whole History with that Contact since you installed Mountain Lion/Started Messages may appear and that it is scrollable the closer you get to the "top" and the top may keep moving until all is on show.

Do a backup,  preferable 2 separate ones on 2 drives. Boot to the Recovery Volume (command - R on a restart or hold down the option/alt key during a restart and select Recovery Volume). Run Disk Utility Verify/Repair and Repair Permissions until you get no errors.  Reformat the drive using Disk Utility/Erase Mac OS Extended (Journaled), then click the Option button and select GUID. Then re-install the OS.

  • Is there any problem for my iphone's battery to keep my charger connecting for few hours after the battery is full?

s there any problem for my iphone's battery to keep my charger connecting for few hours after the battery is full?
Sometimes i sleep and the my iphone is charging and of course the battery became full after two or three hours, and definitely i will not wake up in the midnight to just disconnect the charger, please i need your help.

This is considered normal use. I think everybody does this, including myself. It's not something to worry about in the least bit.
Just remember to complete a full charge cycle (allow the phone's battery to discharge to 10%-20%, then charge uninterruped to 100%) once a month and you'll be fine.

My problem is a sudden loss of ability to get to PSE12 Organizer when I tried to load a saved scan. Had been using the Organizer and the Editor with no problems for several hours just before that.
Can not load the Organizer from the icon at the bottom of  Editor screen, from the icon on the MacBook Air dock (OS 10.10.2),  nor from the file in applications located with Finder.
I have tried without success to access Organizer after turning off and on the scanner, turning off and on the computer, loading a fresh copy of PSE12 from the CD, and restoring default preferences.  I have searched on line for other options but not  found any.
    Can you help me?

  • IPod Touch 4G will not turn on even after charging for several hours.

My iPod Touch 4G will not power on. I have attempted to charge it for several hours but still wont turn on. I tried charging it through a wall outlet as well as plugging into computer and going into iTunes. But still wont turn on. Does anyone have any suggestions other than taking it into the Apple store? (already have an appt scheduled).

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
    - Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

After charging my iphone5 for many hours I checked it and it 100% charged but not fully charged as the sign of charging on the top of the screen is still and the sign of unblug the charging cable doesn't show up and this happened several times ...!? What is the problem and how I fix it !? Thanks in advance :)

Apple told you it was unrepairable.... You had it serviced by an unauthorized party. It's now no longer eligible for out of warranty replacement by Apple.
There's really nothing else we can say about it. Find a competent 3rd party repair shop or buy a new one.

Does the iPhone 4 disable for 24 hours after too many failed attempts at entering the passcode

Oh thank you. Only thing is I have no backup, so i'd prefer to wait if there is a 24 hour lock out... Someone told me they thought there was, and I can't find anything on google to tell me how many attempts you get and how long you get locked out for each time. A friend made me a new passcode when under the influence and now after thinking about it remembers what he changed it to

I have the Spinning Beach ball for 1 hour after Lion X installation, pls help
How long is it going to take?
Using Mac Book Pro corei5 with all previous updates.
    Thanks

    This happened to me too.
I bought Lion and let it download and install.
I had to leave my computer while the installer was running and when I came back a few hours later it was disoplaying the mac equivalent of a blue sceen: "You need to restart your computer. Hold...".
I restarted and I get to the login screen, but as soon as I start typing my password I get the beach ball and then tha fans start working like crazy.
I upgraded from snow leopard and my home account is encrypted.

  • Network disconnects after Mac mini is running for several hours but a reboot fixes it

i have updated my Mac mini to Yosemite but now it has a networking problem after running for several hours . Trying to open a webpage in Safari or chrome doesn't work, the remote site appears to disconnect.  Mail is not downloaded and email already downloaded has no images when I display them.  Interestingly DNS resolution is working nslookup finds the IP but telnet to a web site on port 80 gets an instant disconnect.
THe connection ion is wired into a hub and the ISP connection is fine from the other computers on our home network.
I am now rather perplexed how to fix this without constantly rebooting the Mac which just goes against the grain.

    Hi loseph94,
Welcome to the Apple Support Communities!
I understand that issues with your computer running slowly can be frustrating. In this situation I would recommend reading over and using the information located in the attached article to help troubleshoot the issue.
