Weird space below image

My page was working fine until I added this to the top of the
code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN" "
http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="
http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
Then a small margin appeared below some images, which I fixed
by setting them as backgrounds (but I don't think that's a real
solution) anyway, I'm sending a link to a test page and to an image
that points where the images are off their place, I have a corner
shadow image aligned bottom, but a small space still appears below
it.
Can anyone tell me why?
This is the link to the test, I removed the real content:

This image points to the problem:

Use this:
img {vertical-align:bottom;}

  • DITA: Increasing Space Below Image

    Hi All,
I'm authoring in DITA using FrameMaker 9 + DITA-FMx. To output PDF, I use FrameMaker.
    I have the following structure:
    fig
    ---- image
    p
The paragraph underneath the figure appears too close to the image (or, more precisely, too close to the anchored frame in which the image is placed). I'd like to add more spacing after the frame before the P.
Is there a way to control that spacing? Currently, the P underneath the frame is formatted with a regular BodyText format. Ideally, I would define something like this:
If the nearest preceding sibling of P is FIG, then use FormatChangeList xxx where I override BodyText by increasing SpaceAbove.
However, to the best of my knowledge, in EDD's context rules, I can only check child-parent relations.
    Any ideas are welcome!
    Many thanks in advance,
    Alex

    Hi Alex...
If you're using the default DITA-FMx template, you should be able to increase the Space Below Para value of the figure.anchor para style in the Book template. If you're using titles with your figures, you'll need to set that in the figure.title style.
    Cheers,

  • Unwanted spaces between images, fine in browsers spaces appear in email clients

using the help and tips on here i managed to eliminate the gaps between images and the borders around hyperlinked images so that it looks good in browsers unfortunately when i go to view it in outlook it creates spaces, weirdly only between some images and not all. I'm a novice so a step by step guide would be super. Please see the code below. the gaps appear above and below images:

You cannot ever hope to successfully create an html email using one big table. It's bad enough when going down that route for ordinary browser viewing but when it comes to email clients they are a lot less forgiving.
You need to use a series of simple nested tables. No spliting or merging cells, that's suicide.

  • Reduce White Space below Site Title and Above Site Content

On a SharePoint Online site wiki home page, I'm in need of a Script Editor snippet that will reduce the amount of white space below the site title and the start of the body/content of the site.  (see attached image).  Thanks!

    Hi,
According to your post, my understanding is that you want to reduce white space in the site title below.
We can use CSS to achieve it, the following CSS style for your reference:
    <style>
    .ms-rte-layoutszone-inner{
    height:0px;
    </style>

  • Strange / weird  SPACES behavior

    Guys,
I had something weird occurring (for a limited occurrence time) with spaces: I have 6 spaces activated on my MBP: yesterday, when I scrolled vertically the mouse pointer (bluetooth Magic Mouse) toward the bottom of the screen (hence making the dock automatically appear according to my preferences) spaces automatically activated and caused the passage to the space below the one currently active (i.e. if I was on space 1 it was going to space 4 or if I was on space 2 it went to space 5). I tried to see if something weird was in the space and or exposé preferences (in the general preferences) and I just unticked / ticked the automatic reversion to the space where an application is open, when clicking on this application (I hope to have been clear).
After some play with these preferences, the problem did not reoccur again.
    Please:
    - have you ever heard about something similar?
    - Which .plist might I delete in order to be sure to have killed a latent corrupt configuration (I have already reset finder even after the problem was not reoccurring)
    - do you confirm that it is stupid to think about a virus / malware?.... (I have full firewall activated and this happened only after updating via adobe site all the programs of my CS5 production premium programs..).
Thank you for your kind help / feedback
    Cheers
    Emanuele
P.S.: no application / program was open but finder alone

  • Muse adding weird space

I'm not sue what I did, but all of a sudden Muse has started adding an extra space. I attached an image of what the site is supposed to look like. All the different sections butt against each other. Here's the link to view what is actually happening. http://sparkdesignstudio.businesscatalyst.com/index.html
For some reason under 'my work' the blue gets cut off short and there is a large weird space before the 'about me' section. I can send my file if I need to. Please help!

It previews differently in Muse than it does in Firefox. The navy blue background is now just a thin line, but the 'about me' section is in the right place. See attched...
It was working just fine and all of a sudden it started previewing weird. I'm thinking I accidentally changed something without realizing it.

  • Some text in my smartform is not aligned or one space below

    Hello Experts,
I am currently modifying a smartform wherein some of the text is
one space below its correct alignment. For example:
    Particulars      Quantity     Price
                       50
    Enervon Prime                 1,000
The 50 must be aligned with the particular and price. When I checked the
form, it doesnt have anyspace and the variable is inserted immediately. No spaces
or indentions whatsoever. Help would be greatly appreciated guys as this is very urgent.
    Thank you and take care!

    Hi Kishan,
Thank you for your reply. What do you mean check the length of the
variable? And Also, what about for others that instead of displaying
one space below, it shows one space above? like:
                 5000
    Enervon                1,000
The quantity 5000 must be in line with Enervon and 1,000. Thank you again!

  • How to remove space below text?

In the screenshot below, how to remove space below text? I simply added a text box using the type tool and I get that extra space bellow the letter "B" that I don't need. I want to remove that space to center the letter within the octogon.
    Thanks!

You might consider giving the letter a negative baseline shift and aligning it to centre.
That way you can adjust it so that its anchor point coincides with the centre of the hexagon.
    Like this:
Another thing: You may find it easier working with type if you hide bounding boxes.

  • White space below footer due to Relative Positioning?

I'm pretty new to coding. I'm learning how to do a responsive website and everything is working, EXCEPT for the huge blank space below the footer at the largest screen resolution. I know it is because of the relative positioning I used for the "samples" section. I know this question has been asked before. I've tried the suggestions, but cannot seem to get it to work. I cannot figure out a way to accomplish having the "samples" section at the spot I want without using relative positioning. I've tried "float" to no avail.
Everything is working, except for the huge space below the footer at the largest screen size for my responsive page.
Instead of pasting my .html and 3 .css files here, here is my site of which you can right click and "view page source" to get all the code. Don't want to make my question look too long!

  • Disallow Spaces in Image Names

    Hi,
There is a long running problem with Business Catalyst at this moment in time - it allows spaces in file uploads.
This is a severe problem and simply shouldn't be allowed in any modern CMS.
If I give an isolated example, I recently helped a client of mine launch an Email Campaign from their CP. Everything appears fine in all browsers, however in Gmail, images with spaces in simply break.
This comes down to our client uploading images with spaces in, which suffice to say we have told them not to do. It's easy to say we should tell our clients to do this however this will not do. It is simply a requirement of all CMS' in this day an age as files with spaces in will almost always cause problems somewhere.
Before I carry on ranting, is there a way for me to enable a requirement for spaces in file uploads?
If not, this feature needs to be implemented.
    Thanks.

    Hi Liam,
In the minds of my customers is it a BC problem or is a web problem? It is a BC problem.
Look at it this way; Facebook, twitter and the many hundreds of websites that you can upload images to either disallow you from uploading images with spaces or loop through file names and convert the image filename to be web friendly.
We can't expect less tech-savvy clients to remove spaces from their images, especially if there is no clear warning on the website to remove them. Are you suggesting, that we train each and every user of each and every website that we have built to remove spaces from their filenames?
    Are you serious?
There is no debate here - BC should be doing something to fix this problem, whether it is to give adequate warning and advice during the file upload period, to rename images to be web friendly or to disallow spaces in images completely it has to be done. To suggest that this is a 'web problem' is to make excuses for Adobe. We should not have to train our clients to remove spaces from images file names.
While I agree that with the tech-savvy it is simple to remove spaces from images it is not something we should expect users to do. For an example, let's take a large scale eCommerce website. There are multiple users of that website, some tech-savvy, others not-so. This eCommerce website takes on a new user to help manage their products, who we will call John. John isn't very tech savvy.
The business-owners take John through the basics of uploading a product, possibly even suggesting he removes spaces from image file names. However, being the new guy, John doesn't remember that and fails to remove spaces from a couple of images. Nobody knows, because these images appear fine in the latest browsers. Three weeks later, this business decides to launch an email campaign, which looks great in tests to Outlook! As the business-owners are not tech-savvy, they very-happily launch the email campaign based on a template created by the original developers without testing. The original developers cannot take into account spaces in images as HTML email cannot run JavaScript.
Of course, just after the send date Employee #5 notices that all of the product images are broken in Gmail. The business-owners then swiftly contact the web developers and all the blame comes to them, despite that fact they advised them on this originally.
So in conclusion here, the business-owners lose out on valuable profits and their reputation is damaged and the web-developers reputation is scarred indefinitely, with Business Catalyst's problems being blamed on them as the reseller. Everybody loses.
And all of this could of been avoided simply if Adobe had put in adequate efforts (such as those previously described) to alleviate this problem.
To suggest that we should be training our clients and all of their new and changing users to do the following is to make excuses for Adobe's failures.

How do i crop "out" a piece of image=ex: how it will look when its cut for a window. Crop a white space in image?

I think this will help if you are using version 11 or 12.
Make a selection with a selection tool of the area you want to remove.
Example: rectangular marquee tool - make a rectangle.
    Use Select>Refine Edge:
Use the View section of this dialog box to see a few views.
If you need to refine the edge of the selection (smooth, feather, shift, etc.) you can do that in this dialog box.
You may want to check the box about remembering your settings in case you need to come back to them.
In the Output section, you can pick New Layer with Layer Mask and click OK.
You should see the hole in your image.

  • Extra space below stacked item groups

    Hi
A form that whose all columns, except four at the top, are distributed in 4 stacked item groups (using native tabs) is being generated with a extra space below the item groups tab canvas. The space is not inside the tabs themselves, but below the tab canvas.
I couldn't find any property/preference to get rid of it. I tried setting the module component canvas height, beside other things, without success.
    Any clue?
    Thanks
    Luis Cabral

    Hey Luis.
Try going to the preferences editor of the module component that contains the item group(s). go to Layout-Block and try playing with the "Block multi-line line separator" preference (BLKMLL). Just a guess.

  • Insert .oam files that scale without leaving white space below them inside a web page

    Hi All,
Does anyone have a way to get .oam files to scale inside a web page without leaving all the white space below them when they are scaled in a fluid web page design?
I've done this in other web pages without using .oam files and inserting the whole html file and stage, but I need this to work with multiple areas inside a web page for which .oam files seem to be the only solution.
Thanks for your time, any solutions or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Jeff

    Hi Meenakshi,
Thanks for your reply, the blog tutorial you're referencing however uses the HTML files and doesn't use .oam files, which is my problem, as I need to insert more than one edge element on the page.
Alternatively if there is a way to insert two "stage" HTML edge elements into a page using the method referenced above, this would be a suitable solution also. I've tried inserting more than one HTML file / stage where they are of different stage sizes and had no luck creating a second "stage_02" etc to acheive this so far.
    Thanks again for your reply,
    Cheers,
    Jeff
