  • Forwarded message shown as inline text

    Hi everyone,
    I have searched for a solution to this for a while, but forgive me if I missed something.
    I am currently trying to forward received messages from GroupWise to Mobile Me as an attachment which is working correctly. But the issue I am having is that the iPhone appends the attached message and loses the original senders address.
    So what I'm left with is the message being from myself to myself and replying to a message only ends up in a loop.
    Is there any app or procedure to fix this? I have replaced my Palm with an iPhone, and this is the only issue I have. Palm did it fine, showed the forwarded message as an attachment.
    Any help will be highly appreciated,
    Jim

    Hi!
    What i have being doing latetly whenever these happens with facebook or twitter messages, pins or what ever... i just go to the general message inbox, the little envelope in which you receive all your messages ( FB, TWT, etc ) select the day you are in.. wed 22 jun,2011 " per sé" and  press the menu while inthere and select the MARK PRIOR OPENED option... this might work with text messages too. let me kno if it doesnt.

    The home screen is the screen that shows all of your app icons. You can have one home screen or up to 11 home screens depending on how many apps you have. The home screen on an iPad is the equivalent of the desktop screen on a computer. If you are using an app, just tap the home button once to return to a home screen.
    This is is a (my) home screen.
    You you might want to double check the instructions here.
    Connect your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, and Mac using Continuity - Apple Support
    Make make sure that you are signed into your iCloud account in Settings>iCloud and make sure that you have selected your Apple ID email address as well in Settings>Messages>Send & Receive at>You can be reached by iMessages at.

  • Mail automatically sending forwarded messages as text file attachment

    Hi everyone,
    We have a client who is using Mac Mail, and whenever she tries to forward on a message it automatically puts the message into an attached text edit format file. Generally the forwarded message should just be inline text but in this case it isn't. I've googled this problem without much luck, hopefully someone on here has an idea of what's going on and it's just a simple fix, unfortunately I cannot have access to the machine when I want but if anyone has any advice that would be great, cheers.

    Bump...
    Apparently it only happens when another file is attached as well to the same email.
    I tried forwarding my colleague an email through Mac Mail with an attached image and inline text and it came out fine, I thought it might of been a flaw with Mac Mail itself but no.
    Anymore ideas?

  • In ios7 how do I forward my received text/pics in messages to my email?

    I have an iphone 5
    I upgraded from last version of ios6 directly to ios7.1
    With ios6 I use to be able to Edit >Select messages or pics >send to my email
    In ios7 if I press on a text bubble or pic, I get a choice of copy or more....
    I select more...., select what I want then select the right facing arrow at the bottom right of the message screen.
    I select my name with my email address and press send.
    Everything selected is then sent to me as a message instead of to my email address.
    iphone also sends me another message to "Voicemail" (guess since it also contains my iphone number.)
    I tried going into the Messages settings and unchecked the ability to reach me by imessage at my email address, but
    the selected items are still sent to me as a message (but I dont get the Voicemail message).
    My wife has the same phone and we updated the same way and her's does the exact same thing.
    I tried to forward my messages to her email address but she receives them as messages also.
    If I turn off her phone's option to reach her by imessage at her email address, my phone shows the forwarded messages have been
    delivered, but now they go no where - not to her iphone or her email.
    I noted that with message pics I can tap the pic in messages which opens a pic viewer screen, then select the symbol of a square with
    an upward arrow and select it to be sent to message or email. Selecting email WILL send the pic to my email.
    Is this a bug or am I doing something incorrectly?
    Thx

    Rudegar - I appreciate your test - it makes sense that it is working for you and many others, otherwise there would be a lot more reports like mine. Still, a few people are having this issue, so it is a peculiarity that we share, possibly in our settings.
    I have the slider on for iMessage, Send as SMS, MMS & Group.
    OI also have the "Group Text" app on my phone which has an option for sending texts to email addresses. I had that off. As a test, I turned the option on and sent a txt from imessage to my email with no success.
    I also tried to send a text to email from in side Group Text with no success. .
    Copy and paste is the work around but requires several steps and shouldn't be necessary.

  • Weird text messages from number that at one time told me when a payment had been made

    I have received a few weird text messages from 900-080-00400 that look like this
    //VZWDM;2010/12/29 23:32:17 GMT;400.572;;;MB;F;;0;;MB
    Any idea what they are?

    The long sequence of numbers is the Verizon Wireless reference number.  The information you received in the text is your data usage.

  • When I forward an email, it includes at the top of the new forwarded message, all the headers from the original message. How do I make that disappear?

    I'm using a Mac Air with Thunderbird 34.0.
    When I forward an email, for some reason it now includes all of the headers at the top of the new forwarded message that I'm creating ... making quite a mess.
    It looks like this below. How do I make it go away?

  • Reply not quoting text of original message

    For the past couple weeks, I have had an increasing number of messages where when I hit reply, the text of the message is not included. Same with forward. These messages always include attachments. All that gets included in the reply or forward is the attachment. Ideas?
    MacBook Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    unfortunatley, I am having the very same problem on my power mac g5, but not on my mac book.
    even before i installed hte new safari, every time i would hit reply or forward, only the original message would be included, not the most previous response. in preferences, i have checked " include all of the original text" but this doesnt help.
    i then went ahead and installed the newer safari, 3.0.2 beta, based on the feedback from this board that the issue was specific to the 3.0.1 safari install. anyway, nothing has changed, still have the same issues.
    the only was i can get this to include ALL of the original text is by hilighting the entire text content within the email. but this is a pain to do when responding to each and every email
    any ides?????

  • Improper rendering of forwarded message in Outlook Express

    I am not able to view forwarded mail (not properly rendered) in Outlook
    Express although in Microsoft Outlook, it views fine. The forwarded
    message is not shown as an email message but instead as a file
    attachment which can be saved to file. Any pointers to why Outlook
    Express renders it like that?
    I have copied below the code and the message.
    The following code is being used to create the forwarded message:
    String subject = oldMsg.getSubject(); //oldMsg is the MimeMessage to be forwarded.
    MimeMultipart mp = new MimeMultipart();
    MimeBodyPart bp = new MimeBodyPart();
    bp.setContent( "", "text/plain" );
    mp.addBodyPart( bp );
    MimeMessage msg = new MimeMessage( mailSession );
    msg.setFrom( from );
    MimeBodyPart bp = new MimeBodyPart();
    bp.setContent( oldMsg, "message/rfc822" );
    bp.setFileName( "forward.cpm" );
    mp.addBodyPart( bp );
    msg.setContent( mp ); // add Multipart
    msg.saveChanges(); // generate appropriate headers
    The message is getting created as follows:

    Guru,
    I am trying to run sample javamail program msgshow.java
    with these parameters
    -T imap -H <host> -U <user> -P <pwd>
    and I get an exception
    javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: There is no such mailbox on this server
         boolean com.sun.mail.imap.IMAPStore.protocolConnect(java.lang.String, int, java.lang.String, java.lang.String)

         void msgshow.main(java.lang.String[])
    My question is
    1. Where can I find host name for reading email from Microsoft Exchange server?
    2. Could you give me an example of such a server?
    Thanks a lot in advance.

  • Signature & forwarded messages now showing up as attachments

    Whenever I send an email with attachments, it also changes my email signature and any forwarded messages to attachments. I've tried this in rich-text and plain text format. The only difference is the type of attachment that is sent (HTML vs. TXT).
    This just started about a month ago. Before that everything worked perfectly. This is affecting everyone in my company. We are using Mail on Exchange Server with Snow Leopard. I contact our Exchange administrator, and nothing has changed on their end.
    Any ideas?

    I have a user here at our site that's been experiencing the same issue. He's on 10.6.2, sending to other users on an Exchange 2007 server. Recipients using Mac Mail see his mail as he authored it, with the attachments and forwarded mail text inline. Recipients using Outlook 2007 see non-mail attached content as normal attached files, and any forwarded mail (text?) content as ATT0000x.htm attachments. Not sure when this issue crept up, exactly, but we didn't seem to have a problem until the last couple of months.

  • I forwarded a message using my iPhone 5. Now, every time I send a new message (through Send A Message in the Contacts section), that forwarded message automatically appears in the message box (as if it were a template). How do I fix this?

    If I send a message directly through Messages, that forwarded message does not appear in the message box.
    But I would like to not have that message as the template for my texts.
    How do I take this "template" out?
    Thank youu!

    I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

  • Hide "from" addresses when forwarding message

    I get many messages that I want to forward to another recipient, but I want to hide the string of other addressees who sent it or forwarded it to me. I have tried simply deleting some of the info, but there are so many codes and links showing that I'm not sure what to delete.

    I'd try turning it onto its head; select the stuff you definitely DO want to forward, then copy and paste into a new message.
    Or, and this may be counterintuitive, select the part you're interested in and hit Reply To Sender. It will copy just the selected text into a new message, leaving you just the task of removing that one address from the addressing box. I'd be wary of this approach, as it will carry a link back to the previous message. Under some circumstances, this can lead to apparently unrelated messages being added to a thread.
    Unfortunately there's no easy or automatic way for a program such as Thunderbird to know which bits you do and don't want to include in your forwarded message.

  • Email attachment not included in forwarded message - no error message given

    A coworker of mine was trying to forward a large 25.6MB pdf over the AT&T network.  She downloaded entire message before hitting forward and selected "include attachments" when given the option.  She could see the icon for the attachment at the bottom of the forwarded message, but the recipient doesn't receive the attachment and it is not reflected in the sent email.  There is no warning or error message given.  She could forward this from her desktop account, so it doesn't seem to be a server based limit on attachments..
    This is an exchange server email account and an iphone 5.
    Any ideas?

    I too am experiencing this behavior, however, for some reason that I do not know, the attachments appear ok one day and then they appear embedded. This is becoming detrimental to my work!
    Is anyone looking into this at Apple?

    Thoughts are to allow groups of individuals mobile numbers to be shared across larger organizations, from within a PDF document, that the mobile numbers would be clickable, and open up a Text or instant messaging application on either the computer, tablet, or smart phone, for instant communication.

    1. I noticed on the you tube videos about the new ipad that the main icons are more than mine (i.e. the icon of facebook and a number or others are missing)
    2. I would like to ask you to do me a favour, thanks for your patiene. Still I have not understood how (in which way, the pictures, transfered from my system or new taken by the ipad camera are uploaded directly to the FaceBook. I suppose that I will not have the same difficulties regarding the videos to both Facebook AND YoutTube. Thanks a lot for your patience with me, from now on I will be more carefull about posting messages to you referring to technical support

    Some of the apps shown in adverts / videos have been downloaded from the App Store, they don't come pre-installed e.g. the Facebook app is a free download the app store : 'official' Facebook app.
    To upload photos to Facebook you can use the above app - you can't, for example, use Safari on the iPad to upload content to sites.
    Not sure whether any apps allow you to upload videos to YouTube (I don't use the site).
