Weird Thing Just Happened When Creating a Ringtone

After the switch was flipped "on" for creating ringtones, I decided to try it out. I had at least 25 songs that had the bell next to it, but when I decided to cancel on the 1st ringtone I tried to create, all those songs lost the bell icons. Now I have no songs that can be converted. What gives?

Is it just the indicator in the column or the entire column is missing? I had a problem with the column not being there and had to add it from the View > View Options menu selection.

Ok, a little clarification then, you can hear music fine with the speaker and headphone? You can hear a game's music fine with the headphone but not with the speaker? Do you get the notification sounds ok with the speaker?
If the speaker sound is acceptable with everything except the game then there is a problem with that game and its settings.
If that is the case, you might want to try deleting the game and then downloading and reinstalling the game to see if that helps the problem.

Need help fixing my safari. have already done files perms repair to no avail. Only thing that happens when I select Safari is the screen changes color.

This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a Fusion Drive or a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually login automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

"Buy" button does not appear when creating a ringtone

When I create a ringtone, the only buttons I have are to change the looping time, the button to preview and I can see the first two letters of the cancel button. The Buy button does not show up. It is like it is off my screen but I don't have a slider to get over there.
Anybody else have this problem?

Open Displays in the Control Panel and try increasing the number of pixels displayed on the monitor.

I've spent an hour plus googling this and none of the 'fixes' works. My custom ringtones show up fine in itunes but are grayed out in iphone when I try to sync. This just happened when I synced my phone: previously worked fine.

I've spent an hour on this: massively frustrating. My custom ringtones disappeared from iphone when I just sync'd and now show up in itunes/iphone interface (on the mac) grayed out: won't sync to phone. I know the audio files work because they were fine two hours ago! (iphone 5 running 8.1.3)

I had this problem too after i upgdatd to OS X Mavericks... only the songs on my iphone 5s that i purchased from itunes would play.
i read something about it being a syncing issue. when you plug your phone into your computer with the usb cable, the person said to switch from automatic syncing of itunes to the "manual" option. mine was already set to manual so i wasn't sure anything would work. BUT, when i plugged my phone into my computer, it started to sync all of my music on my phone again (top of itunes bar where song playing/time is listed said "now syncing 123/534 songs to x's iphone"). once that was completed, i checked the music app on my iphone and everything was back to normal!
so, i would suggest setting your music syncing settings to manual if you haven't tried that yet!

Whenever i press backspace, it does the same the same thing as if i press 'ctrl + shift + i', and again the same thing as if i press 'toggle tools' from the web developer option under tools from the menu at the top of firefox. I'm not a developer, i don't need this console thingy, and wouldn't mind getting rid of it. I didn't install it on purpose, and i have no idea what made this start happening recently. It's getting INCREDIBLY annoying.

The backspace key shouldn't be opening the Console.

Strange thing just happened...

I was using my Macbook and I just exited WoW, I then went to check out the Dashboard and clicked on a few widgets to see what they did. Then I X'ed out Dashboard. I tried to open Safari and the icon just kept on bouncing up and down in the dock and it would'nt open. I tried Firefox and iTunes as well but they did the same thing. I looked up at my menu bar and the intel core duo temp monitor showed i was at 98% usage and was at 83 degrees C. Then the cpu usage kept on jumping back and forth from like 50% to 80% and then back down. I had no applications open except for Adium and when that is on my cpu usage is always around 3%. What was going on? I kinda got scared and thought it was a sign of RSD so I shut down my MacBook and restarted it. Now everything is fine for the time being; any theories about what happened and how I can prevent it? Thank you

Whatever you shut down didn't actually shut down. The process hung and then a bunch of other processes started but couldn't fully execute. You did the right thing. You could also have tried the force quit menu and force quit things one by one to see.

Weird things that happened to you TRYING to update to iOS4. Put ur story!

Dear Apple.. I love you I really do! And I love your products and integration of everything with Mac and iTunes. BUT this is my second attempt to update to iOS4. And it seems that there are problems like this for SOOO MANY people in all major & semi-major updates!!
Well ok here is my story of my first FAILURE of an attempt. I'm on a black MacBook 1,1 running 10.5.8, iTunes is all updated and I have a black iPhone 3G 8 gig. I backed up my iPhone in advance like a responsible little person and downloaded iOS4. Then I started to update and another backup was being made. That took TOO long so I had 2 quit it and go to work! I come home and ok second attempt. The software was already downloaded so then i go to update. It starts to backup my iPhone and is taking its dear sweet time so I go do some other things. An HOUR AND A HALF LATER it was only 10% done!! And then out of nowhere the update/backup quits and iTunes gives me this error code that was like 10 numbers long! And gives me the option to update and not back up so I just say forget it. THEN I realize my iPhone is showing the screen with the big empty battery with the lightening bolt and the charger icon. So SOMEHOW while my iPhone was plugged into my MacBook and updating/restoring the WHOLE time, the battery was completely drained??!? I'm just at a loss. So I reset everything (iPhone and MacBook) and tied again.
Everything has worked so far. Albeit that the restore took like 2-2 & 1/2 hours! And it all seems to be going fine. My iPhone installed the new OS and I'm 6 minutes away from my iPhone restoring from the last backup.

So basically I had a REALLY long restore and then a weird iTunes error when I tried to update to the iOS4. Haha my attempt to upgrade to the 4.0 iPhone OS was nearly a failure.
BUT I AM a fan of the automatic restoring of your apps and music/media, rather than having to manually sync or drag and drop all of that stuff yourself.

A strange thing is happening when I try to upgrade to Leopard

I have OS 10.4.11 and I own Leopard but when I try to install it, the computer does the scan thing and tells me that I need OS 10.4 or higher to install Leopard. But when I click on "About this mac" it tells me that i meet all the requirements and that I have 10.4.11
So I can't figure it out! Why does my computer not see that I have the right stuff? Or if I don't why does it look like I do?

Yes. 10.5 is getting late in it's life, but is the most modern OS you can run.

BBM not working, weird thing is happening

BBM is not working right.
here is the problem. I go to messege someone via new conversation in BBM. I send a messege, and its delivered. now, heres the problem. I get a reply, only...its not in the conversation. it shows as a "text" in my messeges tab. but it is a conversation in BBM. so in order to read the whole messege that was sent to me, i have to end the original convo, and open theirs....i need to repeat to view every messege sent to me.
what causes this?
how do i fix it?
i have a verizon, pearl 8130

Did this ever work right? If so, then do this:
With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.

I have an iphone 6 with the most recent iOS. iTunes Match is on. Music app only showing songs purchased on iTunes and no playlists are displayed. Just happened when updating iTunes Match. Solutons?

I have an iPhone 6 with 64 GB of memory. I have iTunes Match turned on my account and on the phone. Suddenly, the Music app is only displaying music purchased directly from iTunes and no playlists are displayed. This occurred after updating iTunes Match on my PC; when new music did not appear, I turned off iTunes Match off/on the PC then did the same on iPhone 6. It looks like iTunes Match is trying to do a full download to the phone but it never completes. Ideas?

Weird things I found when installing J2ME

I downloaded a bundle of tools for J2ME: midp1.0.3 and cldc1.0. I use Windows 98 and Mandrake 9.2 separately in my PC.
I then tried to install J2ME into both, then here's what I found when I tried to run MIDlets:
1. In Windows 98, I compiled my *.java by the command 'javac' and it worked.
Then, I had to preverify it before running the classes (the executables) on an
emulator, didn't I? But, when I preverified it, an error message came out, saying
Error loading class : illegal constant pool index.
2. In Mandrake 9.2, I compiled my *.java by the command 'javac' and it worked.
Then, I preverified it, but this time, it worked. Wow! But then, when I ran it on an
emulator, an error message came out, saying
ALERT : Could not load required font
Segmentation fault
Then, I copied these classes to Windows 98 C:\ direcory and guess what ...
when I ran then, it worked well on the emulator.
This is kinda funny. I now begin to write the Java code in Mandrake, compile it, preverify it, and then move the classes to Windows to run in its emulator.
Can someone help me out of this trouble? It seems so time-consuming to do this, doesn't it?

I ran into the same font problem using Suse 9.2. Some digging into the source code revealed that the midp application tries loading fonts in sizes 9, 11, and 15, which don't exist. The standard font sizes in Suse (at least for adobe-helvetica) are 8,10,12,14,18, and 24.
To fix this, edit midp2.0fcs/src/solaris/native/text.c. Around line 80, there is a line with:
int height = "\011\013\017"[sizeKey];
For using slightly smaller fonts, change this to:
int height = "\010\012\016"[sizeKey];
If you want to use slightly larger fonts (except for the large size, change it to):
int height = "\012\014\017"[sizeKey];
Then go to build/linux/kvm, and run "make clean all". The generated kvm (build/linux/kvm/bin/kvm) works without errors for me.

you will need to open up itunes and then select your iPad to pull up your iPad summary, at the top you will see the different catergories for syncing content to your iPad just check the box for what you want to sync to your iPad then hit apply or sync.
