Weird Touch Screen Behavior...Im rethinking the purchase

I don't know how to accurately describe the problem, but I will give it my best shot.
Sometimes your touch pad on your computer seems like it has a weird blank spot where it does not register when you touch it. This is the same thing on my iphone. It happens towards the bottom, right side of the phone. Did I get it wet or something?
I knew I should have waited a while to buy this thing! I cant type a text or email, and I'm afraid that I broke it and it wont be covered.

Try a hard reset first. To do that, hold the Home button (only button on the face of the phone) and the Sleep/Wake button (Skinny button on top) until the phone turns off and then boots to an Apple logo. When you see the Apple you can let go and it will boot to the home screen. Test it out and see if the "dead spot" is still there.
If that doesn't work, connect the iPhone up to your computer and on that Summary screen that comes up in iTunes there should be a "Restore" button. Click it. Let the download go, and leave the iPhone connected until the restore is finished. You should be able to re-sync all of your data after the restore is finished.
If the restore doesn't work, call Apple! If you haven't dropped this thing or gotten it wet, then it will be covered. It's at least worth a shot.

I cannot get itunes to work/install on myPC. I am running windows 8 in a 64 bit machine. I also want to purchase books via itunes for my Nook. Are you deliberately excluding PC owners so we cannot use ituens on our computers???? I have selected a community but have no idea what community I should be working with. Can somone explai these communities to me? Also. you don't allow much time to go thru the sign up process. I had to start over SEVERAL times as you kept timing me out. Jesus...when people are signing up for the first time, we have no idea of the questions that will be asked. Give us a break and give us time to sign up. Not everone is disability free and able to go thru your process quickly...you are NOT user friendly. You should be for people who are wanting to join your community. I used to want an Apple product but now that  I have had first hand experience with your web page, I think I will probably stay away from Apple products. VERY DISAPPOINTING

  • Do any imacs come with a touch screen if not whats the best touch  screen for a 2012 13inch macbook air

Do any imacs come with a touch screen if not whats the best touch  screen for a 2012 13inch macbook air?
    Thx

    No they don't.
Apple's position is that touchscreens are for tablets and phones (in Apple's case the iPad and iPhone) and that OSX does not need a touchscreen - the trackpad and/or mouse is more flexible.
That may change in future but no one here knows.
In answer to your second question, there is NO touch screen available for the MacBook Air (2012 or any other vintage), nor for the MacBook Pro.  If you must have a touchscreen, consider an iPad with a stand and a wireless keyboard.  Alternatively, a Windows 8.1 laptop or desktop???

  • The top of my iPod touch screen is darker than the rest of my screen after the newest update?

So today I turned on my iPod touch (5th generation) and it said there was a software update available. I updated it with no problem, but after the update I noticed almost half of my screen was darker than the rest at the top. (Posting screenshots below) I don't know if it's supposed to be like that because of the update or not. Also, I have a little blue dot (assuming it's a 'dead' or 'stuck' pixel) on my screen that was there when I bought the ipod BRAND NEW on February 13th of this year and I'd like to know if that may be affecting it? Any help would be appreciated!
    The darker top screen:
Using apps and Safari the screen is normal:

    Hi iBridgetx3,
    You can try several things:
    1.     Go to Settings>Wallpapers & Brightness, and turn the Brightness up or down
    2.     Go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Increase Contrast, and play with the three options available there - I turned off Reduce Transparency, and turned on Darken Colors and Reduce White Point, because I like the color gradation on the wallpaper on my Home screen. But if you don't like it, then make sure Darken Colors is off, and try that with Reduce White Point both off and on to see what you like best
There are a lot of new settings specifically designed to address the variety of problems that people were having with the initial iOS 7 "look". Play around with them. You will probably find a combination that will suit you.
    Cheers,

  • Iphone 3G touch screen doesn't works the bottom stripe

Goodmornig, sorry for my english...it's not very well!!
I have an iPhone 3g updated to version 4.2.1. When I should write a message, or I do need to enter a password, for example, to access a wireless network, I can't press the button _ 123 that change the QWERTY keyboard into the numeric one, or the space bar or enter key. I have the same problem if I select the messages to delete, I can't press the red button on the lower left. However, from the home screen If I press the green icon "Phone" I can go from "Favorites" to "Recent" to "Contacts" to "Pad" to "Secretariat".
    Could be a software problem?
Changing the touch pannel would change something?
    Thanks to all!

Hello, I had the same problem on my iPhone 4. I tried restoring, restarting, etc, which did not work. In my frustration I started furiously tapping the bottom strip of the screen (the dock with the icons) with two fingers, and after about ten seconds of this the screen started functioning fully again. It is likely that my previous restoring and restarting is what actually fixed the phone, and my unorthodox screen tapping solution may have just been a coincidence instead of an actual cure, but my screen did start working right after the tapping, and I just wanted to make sure I posted this in case it helps someone else. I'm sorry to hear your screen is broken, I hope it gets fixed soon.

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try another cable
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

  • Weird Touch screen issue...

I bought my 8G iPhone the day they came out and I love it. My problem started shortly after I upgraded to 1.1.3. The touch screen has stopped recognizing any of the icons or menus on the very bottom of the screen. Can't select phone, mail, Safari, iPod, etc. I can't switch the iPod from playlists to movies, to podcasts, etc. At first I thought that the screen just stopped responding, but then I realized that I could still unlock it from sleeping by using the slider at the bottom of the screen. I've tried rebooting, I've tried restoring. Nothing yet has worked. If it was simply a hardware issue I'd just take it in to Apple and see what they could do for me. The fact that I can still use the slider makes me think it's a software issue with 1.1.3. Anyone else seeing this? Anyone found a work around/solution?

You mentioned that you could still slide to unlock your phone? If you can do that then it shouldn't be hardware. Try resetting the phone by holding down the home button and the on/off button until the phone turns itself off then back on again. After that try restoring the phone again, but this time near the end of the restore process when it asks to restore to your backup or setup as a new phone, choose setup as a new phone. If it still doesn't work after that you might be able to try restoring on another computer or in a new user on your computer so that it will download a new restore file for the iPhone. There could have been a problem with the file that it was trying to restore from.

  • I have an Ipod 4th generation ipod with a broken screen: pretty much the entire upper trim is broken off as I can see the camera. Why does my Ipod touch screen only respond in the very middle? Top and bottom work not left or right.

When the Ipod touch 4th Gen first came out, I got this ipod. About 6 months later, it fell out of my pocket and the top of the screen broke to the point where I can see the camera. The ipod worked perfectly fine for a long time untill about 8 months later when I started having issues with the Ipod. I still was able to unlock and use it but it was hard to unlock. It worked fine when it opened but unlocking it for some reason difficult. Now, I cannot unlock it at all and I am only able to press the play button for music (double-tap home) and press cancle (in the dead center) for a soft reset. Im trying to figure out whats goin on and as of now i have no clue. I have tried resetting it and am in the process of restoring it completely. Is there any possible way that this is just a glitch that can be fixed or is it done for good because somethings broken? I'ld like to know before I really put more time into this.

Becaise the digitizer is broken in that area
Apple will exchange your iPod for a refurbished one for $199 for 64 GB 4G and $99 for the other 4Gs. They do not fix yours.
