Welcome Page within Welcome Page?

I created a Welcome page for each of the colleges in our university off the home page of our iTunesU site just fine. Now for some of the larger colleges, I want to set up departmental pages within that College's Welcome page, but when I use the "Create Page" tool, it won't let me select any Welcome page templates, just course templates. Is there a limit to how many welcome page levels you can have in iTunes U?

Welcome pages can only be used at the first and second tiers; the third tier must always be courses.
So you have:
- Welcome Page (College)
| -- Welcome Page (Department)
|------ Courses
| -- Welcome Page (Department)
|------ Courses

  • Related list on Document set welcome page

    Hi
I want to show a discussion list within the welcome page of a document set. I thought that i could achieve this by creating a look up coloum on the discussion list that would contain the id of the document set. Then i would add the discussion list to
the welcome page of the document set and have the property web part of the document set send the document sets id to the discussion list - and thereby filter it so that it will only show the discussions that is related to current document set! (hope anyone
    understands this!)
But i am not able to do this since the property web part does not allow connections! Does anyone know a way to do this?
    Thanx! :-)

You can customize the welcome page of a document set and add other web parts to it. I did this once to achieve something similar to what you're after, but the user ended up finding it too complicated. It was to display a list of related documents below the
properties of the document set, so I had a list containing the related documents and the ID of the document set to which they were related. The web part on the document set welcome page could then filter by that ID. But the user found it too hard to maintain
the list of relationships, so I no longer have a working example.

  • Is there a way to remove the "Review Feedback" link from the KC welcome page

    Hello,
I would like to clean up the welcome page by removing a few links. Some of the links I wanted to remove were use search and ask an expert. I managed to remove this by going to the server manager page within the KC.
I would also like to remove the following link "Review Feedback" but I don't see this option in the server manager page within the KC. Is the another way that I can remove this from the welcome page?
Any advice and assistance would be greatly appreciated.
    Regards

    Hi Tinito,
You only see the Review Feedback option if you have checked any title under "Titles Available for Feedback". If there is no title selected here, you will not see the Review Feedback option. But I adivce to use it since its a new feature introduced with UPK 11.1.
    hope this helps.
    regards,

  • Welcome page without https: how to?

I have set the following entries in plsql.conf:
    <Location myserver/pls/portal30>
    SSLRequireSSL
    </Location>
    <Location myserver/pls/portal30_sso>
    SSLRequireSSL
    </Location>
But I'd like to allow http call for my welcome page: http://myserver/pls/portal30
    How to do it?
    By

Perhaps the easiest way to do this is to set the SSLRequireSSL on a per-DAD basis. Then you can have a DAD that accesses the Portal in which you will have to not specify SSLRequireSSL, and set access control directives that only allow the public welcome page to be requested, denying access to all other pages. You can work out the specific directives to specify this -
But you'll need to do something like this since SSLRequireSSL takes no arguments and requires SSL within the specified scope.
Make sure that your login link specifies a p_requested_url that is https.
Anyway, I think you should be able to accomplish this with appropriate directives and configuration.

  • Creating Descendant Welcome Pages

Hi: We're facing a conundrum that we'd like some help with. We're trying to figure out how Duke U. is able to create/link to descendant Welcome pages. To see what I mean, go to Duke's Business section, then go to the bottom of that page to the Groups section, then click on Duke Fuqua: it's another Welcome page with a Duke Fuqua School banner, and the breadcrumbs say Duke > Business > The Fuqua School of Business.
We can't figure out how to get this third-tier Welcome page; we can create Public Feature Page > Welcome Page > Course Page.
When we try Choose Page... from within a section, we only have the options to choose our Course templates, not our additional Welcome page templates.
    Thanks for any insights.

Ben, thanks for the tip. We were able to, as a test, nest 8 levels of welcome pages. It could probably go deeper, but iTunes breadcrumbs will display only the top 5 levels. More than 3 doesn't make sense anyway.
Additionally, we discovered that we can programmatically add links to courses (available through GUI only for public feature page) to any welcome page, and place actual courses and welcome pages on the public feature page. This will give us a lot of flexibility in structuring the site and inter-connecting content.

  • Reconstructed Welcome page will not animate a .gif clipart

Upon having to reconstruct my Welcome page because the weblinks had to be re-entered thanks to a friend informing me they were not engaging, upon rectifying the weblinks, when I published the changes, the animated gif did not appear. After several attempts, I reconstructed the page by getting a fresh page. I was able to successfully copy-paste the contents, retype the side-bar that included web links, pasted in from file, the animated gif. It pasted in but would not animate. I tried many times over with no results. Gifs located on other pages are active. But, this one that is animated on the website were I download it

Yes, it is about the flying dove. I'm not changing the subject, apologies, if you thought I was.
Yes, the dove animates on the previous welcome page which no longer exists as I am in the process of uploading the entire website. I will not know if the animation occurs until I finish the upload.
Right, you are. It is not an iWeb issue if the gif file does not animate when I open the file on the desktop. But, as I typed this sentence, my brain awoke to the idea that I must not open the file, copy, paste it into iWeb. Instead, one must drag the file into iWeb. I just tried that and VOILA! the animated bar is there.
You just prodded me enough to resort to using my brain with your last sentence. I had completely forgotten that gif files are drag files.
    Case resolved.
Again, thanks, for taking up your time to move me forward. One gets bogged down, if not weary, when they have problems with their projects.

  • How do I set the default welcome page for PUBLIC user

    gurus,
    i'm using -
    Oracle 9i Database
    Oracle 9ias Portal Release 2
QUESTION => how do I set the default welcome page for the PUBLIC user.
i did the following to achieve this -
    1. logged into portal
    2. clicked on builder
    3. clicked on administer tab
    4. selected PUBLIC user in the Portal User Profile portlet
    5. went to the preferences tab
    6. in the default home page selected a custom page group
    7. logged out of portal
    8. open a new browsere session
    9. type the portal URL and i get the login page ....??
i'm unable to understand this behavior ... shouldn't i be getting the page group that i set for the PUBLIC user in step 6 above ....
the second QUESTION is => when the user logs out he/she should see the PUBLIC page set in step 6 above ... but, instead the user sees a page that is as follows -
Partner Application Name Logout Status [Logout Status]
    Oracle Portal (portal) logout status
    The SSO Server (orasso) checkmark
    buzz.resva.trw.com:7778 checkmark
    infrastructure.happy.resva.trw.com checkmark
    portal1.buzz.resva.trw.com checkmark
    portal2.sylvester.resva.trw.com checkmark
    sylvester.resva.trw.com:7778 checkmark
so, how can i set the default page for the PUBLIC user and also a page when he user logs out.
    ideas anyone ....?
    thanx a bunch.
    hero

    Hi,
The sequence of operation you are doing to set the home page for public users is correct. You are getting the login screen as the "custom page group" selected as "home page" has not been granted to public.
Also, while logging-out, it is normal behaviour to get the screen where it shows the list of partner applications from where user has been logged-out. When you click on "Return" button, you will get to the "home page" set above.
    Hope it clarifies the things.
    Regards,

  • How do i make a photo slideshow / banner for the welcome page in iWeb

How do i create a photo slideshow or fading slidshow for the welcome page in iweb

There are trillions of slideshows to be found on the internets.
Download the one you like, make it work the way you want and put it on the server.
Display it in the browser to see if it looks the way you want.
Then use the <iframe> html element to display it in a HTML Snippet.

  • How can I get just my home page to come up when Firefox starts. I don't want to see all the pages for my extensions plus the "Welcome to Firefox Page." I have 5 pages open every time that I don't want.

    Firefox Welcome Page
    Download Helper Extension Page
    Google Shortcuts Extension Page
    Download Status Bar Extension Page
This happens each and every time Firefox opens, whether there is a new update or not. I currently have these extensions disabled until I can resolve this issue.

Open Firefox preferences/options. On the General tab you can specify what Firefox should do when it starts. I would guess that you have "Show my windows and tabs from last time" selected. Select "Show my home page" and set your home page in the text box.

  • Can't change the color of text of links on my Welcome Page

I have a Welcome page with four links that happen to be text that I dragged over from my list of sites. I can change the text style and size but I cannot change the color from the default reddish brown.

To change the color of any hyperlinks, you need to select the link, go to the Hyperlink page, choose the Format option, and then select the color you want for Normal, Rollover, Visited and Disabled.
    This should work.
You can also set the default colors and formats you want for all other entries on that same page.

  • About Me link is not visible in Welcome Menu if placed on custom location in Custom Master Page

    Experts,
I am facing a problem in my -ongoing SP 2013 project's branding. The problem is with Welcome Menu. I need to put the welcome menu at a custom place rather than in ribbon area. for this I added welcome menu snippet inside my Master Page HTML but there is
a problem with it. On ribbon link "About Me" is visible while at the same time link "About me" is not visible on welcome menu which has been inserted on custom place. below images describe my problem more accurately.
I need help in this regard if some one can help me. For your information My User Profiles are properly configured and working.
    HBkhan

    Hi Haris,
I tested the same scenario in my environment, and the link will display My Settings link instead of About Me link when there is more than one welcome menu in the page.
If you want to put the welcome menu at a custom place rather than in ribbon area, I recommend you remove the welcome menu in the ribbon area(suitebar) after putting the other welcome menu at the custom place.
    Thanks,
    Victoria

  • How to embed a BI publisher Report in welcome page of fusion app?

    Hi,
I was a ADF developer, new to fusion app and BI publisher. We are using Oracle Fusion Application version 11.1.7.0.0 for compensation implementation and BI publisher is a part of it.
I've developed a BI publisher report, placed it under Shared Folder \ Custom, want to embed the same in welcome page of the fusion app. By following the video How do I embed a report in a sales dashboard? - YouTube, I followed below steps
    1. Administration -> Customize Work area page
    2. Add Content
    3. Clicked on 'Reports and Analytics'
    4. Clicked on 'BIPresentationServer'
    5. Shared Folder
    6. Custom
Issue: Though I have some reports under this 'Custom' folder, it says 'Empty folder'. It only shows the 'Analysis' but not any reports. Problem is not with this folder alone but all. I've also ensured that I am able to see all the reports when I navigate using Navigator -> Tools - > Reports and Analysis.
Can any of you guide me on what is the issue and what to be done?
    Thanks in Advance.

Thanks for the link. I am reading it for better understanding.
I just came to know from SR that, In order to see the BI Publisher in the Presentation Server list of values, we have to embed the BI Publihser report inside an OTBI Dashboard.
So we need to create a 'Dashboards' folder (It is must only then we are able to see it via fusion apps. to select and embed), then Dashboard and add the desired report to this dashboard. Now we can navigate to this dashboard, open it and select the page to embed it.
Might be useful for the ppl who faces similar issue. Thanks.

  • Can't get back to root welcome page while logged in as administrator

    Greetings all,
Something weird has occurred with our iTunes U channel. If I log in as primary administrator, I have access to the tools for creating dependent welcome pages. If I create a new dependent welcome page, and then click on the new welcome page to navigate to it and edit it, I get told "This page has no content. Click to edit".
Once I'm at this point (whether I edit the new page or not), I can no longer return to the root welcome page as an administrator. The "Back" button is greyed out. I can get back to the root welcome page as a non-admin user, for instance by clicking the name of my institution in the top right hand menu bar. This gives me an outdated root welcome page without any of the standard administrative links in the top right-hand corner, and there is no "Click to Edit" link.
In order to get back to the root page as an admin, I have to go back to the Admin login page in my browser, and go through the whole process of logging in again.
Has anyone had any experience with something similar happening to them? If so, how did you resolve the problem?
    TKA for any assistance,
    Erik Norvelle

After you resetted your router you should try adjusting the wireless settings on your router...

  • I have a godaddy website with a welcome page- I need help adding a few additional pages with a hyperlink to my welcome page.

I need help attaching a few hyperlinks my godaddy welcome page. I have 2 more ipages articles, I also converted them to pdf. Godaddy only helped (last year) with the 1st article.  I do not know how to attach a hyperlink to the artlcles and add the hyperlinks to my welcome page.

The program is called Pages not iPages. Just let us know if you do not speak English and what language you do speak so we can adjust for that.
The issues are to do with your web page not with Pages.
I think you are asking how to link from your web page to your pdf articles. You must first copy those pdfs to your web server, or some other web location, and then provide html links on your welcome page to those pdf files.
The pdfs themselves may contain links to other locations but I can not see that that is what you are asking for.
Nor to what those links would be to.
From your heading I think you may have confused the name of Pages, the word processing program, with web pages which are two different things.
