Hi
We will fix this.
The particular problem you noticed is one that we will be addressing with the RTM version of CR Viewer XI. We mentioned only Win XP was supported in the release notes âu20ACu0153For Technical Preview, the Crystal Reports Viewer XI is supported only on Windows XP in English.âu20AC
Root Cause
The root cause is that GDI+ is not installed already on Windows 2000. We will be changing our install to add it. However, if you would like to continue to use CR Viewer XI Tech Preview (we hope you will) => You can download and install GDI+ yourself: If you google âu20ACu02DCGDI+ Windows 2000 Microsoftâu20AC(tm) youâu20AC(tm)ll see the links Many thanksCR Viewer XI Tech Preview/Beta Team Ps We will be sending a survey to beta participants at the end of the beta period, and we look forward to your feedback in that survey. Â
In particular, would you be willing to read through the Tech Preview release notes and see if any of the known issues have a big impact on your potential use of CR Viewer XI = that feedback in the survey will be very important for us [the release notes are available at http://diamond.businessobjects.com/node/3023 ]</span></font></p>

How to set printersettings for the crystal report viewer in SAP BI dynamically
Hello
I have set the URL method for my crystal report and with parameter passing as shown below, it was displaying the crystal report viewer by connecting to the SAP BI 4.0 server with this method.
http://cr:port/businessobjects/enterprise115/desktoplaunch/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sDocName=CRLabelParam&sType=rpt&lsSnPrinted=0&lsSsTestProjectNr=1
This URL will be called from Web application by different users, i would like to set the printer settings differently for different users for this crystal report viewer how shall i need to set the printer options?
shall i need to set the printer settings programatically for each user. Please advise me how do i need to proceed.
Thanks & Regards,
Rajeswari.There are no BI / CR APIs that would do this for you. The way I see it, you'll have to have your own print button and populate it with the correct printer information for each user as they request the report. Of course, alternatively, use the viewer printer button and get the users to choose the correct printer.

How can I get the View Tab name on the Crystal Report Viewer at runtime?
When a report is displayed in the Windows Forms Crystal Report Viewer and the user drills into the report, the drill down view is displayed in a seperate view and is identified via a View tab at the top of the report. I can determine the index of the view tab that is currently selected, but I need to access the text that is on the View tab. The only properties that I've found that pertain to the "view" on the Crystal Report viewer are the ActiveViewIndex and the ViewCount. Unfortunately, neither of these items help me because they are not specific to a certain section of the report. Has anyone had any luck accessing the View Tab properties ? Thanks.
The tabs at the top of the page are nested within some of the viewers controls. Through trial and error you just have to find the right one. In this case the main part of the report is in the first control. This happens to be a TabControl. From there you can loop through the TabPages on the TabControl to grab the names of the tabs.
Here is a quick example of what I did to get the tab text. All this code was in a button click event.
Control oControl = crystalReportViewer1.Controls[0];
TabControl oTabControl = (TabControl)oControl.Controls[0];
foreach (TabPage oTabPage in oTabControl.TabPages)
MessageBox.Show(oTabPage.Text); -
How to hide the preview section in the crystal report viewer activex cntrl.
Dear All,
I am using the Crystal report viewer ActiveX to display the Crystal report. When the report opens in the Crystal report viewer ActiveX control, a preview section comes at the left hand side of the panel. How can I hide the preview section from the Report viewer control.Is it possible to customize the the report viewer control. Awaiting for your suggestions.
Thank you.
Regards,
RahaneefJust to get the terminology correct. I believe you are meaning the Group Tree(?).
Vb Code:
CrystalActiveXReportViewer1.DisplayGroupTree = False.
Also, do consult the developer help file;

How do you set the Crystal Report Viewer Printer to Duplex
Using the code below I can print in duplex mode, but this does not let me view a report before printing
How do I set the Printer in the Viewer Control Bar of the Crystal Report Viewer to Duplex Printing programmatically rather than having to manually select Duplex through the preferences option?
I have searched but the only example code I found produces errors in the code and will not run
Private myReport As ReportDocument
myReport = New ReportDocument()
myReport.PrintOptions.PaperSize = PaperSize.PaperA4
myReport.PrintOptions.PaperOrientation = PaperOrientation.Portrait
myReport.PrintOptions.PrinterDuplex = PrinterDuplex. Vertical
myReport.PrintToPrinter(3, False, 0, 0)
In my VB6 Project that I am converting to VB.NET when I added Report.PrinterDuplex = crPRDPVertical, this allowed me to view the report and then print with Duplex without having to set the Print Preferences manualy
I found 1386475 - How to set printer name and print job title at runtime using Report Application Server SDK for Visual Studio .NET
But this causes errors

You can mix both engines, just declare them both with different report object names. Here's all of my references:

//MessageBox.Show(rpt.RecordSelectionFormula, "my record: ", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
MessageBox.Show(rpt.ReportRequestStatus.NumberOfPages.ToString(), "Number of Pages: ", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
As for the page number I use it off the Engine report object:
MessageBox.Show(rpt.ReportRequestStatus.NumberOfPages.ToString(), "Number of Pages: ", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information);
And it works for me...

Fonts are not diplayed correctly in the Crystal Report Viewer control
Post Author: Farid
CA Forum: General
Hello,
I have designed a report in the Crystal Reports XI Designer (version 11.5.3.417) using the default printer. When I view it through the preview mode of the Designer, fonts are displayed like expected using the default printer driver.
Now, I view this same report at run time in the Crystal Report Viewer control on the same computer with the same default printer. Fonts appear then differently they were in the preview mode : sizes are differents and some texts are truncated. It seems that the default printer driver are not used.
Can anybody tell me if this behaviour is normal ? If it is the case how should I do to display a report in the Report Viewer using the default printer driver like I have specified it in the Designer.Post Author: V361

You may want to select the "no Printer" option instead, this will force CR to use a higher resolution. Look in page setup, printer options. -
How can I download the Crystal Report Viewer XI
We need a way for users who recieve .rpt files as email attachements distributed from BOE XI R2 to be able to view the reports and use drill-down functionality without being able to edit the report.
I found the Crystal Reports Viewer XI R2 release notes at help.sap.com but need to know from where to download so that we can install on users' machines. The note references CRViewerXI.exe but I need to know where to get that file?Thanks... I was able to download / install....
As a seperate issue: we're getting an error when trying to open a report generated out of boe xi r2 sp4....the report does have "save data" with report.... I send to myself via email, save the rpt but when I try to open on a machine with viewer installed....it tries and gets to the end and presents an 'unexpected error' with detail:
any suggestions? I put in case# 1020775

Display only graph in the Crystal report viewer
Background:
We used Crystal Reports ver10 to display various graphs in our ASP.Net 2.0 Web Application (Visual Studio 2005)
We recently migrated our application to .NET 4.5 and Crystal Reports ver13 (Visual Studio 2012)
Issue:
Now, the Crystal Report Viewer control loads the graph inside an <IFRAME> which shows the whole page with the graph placed on the right bottom corner instead of just the graph image as it used to previously.
I have checked various properties that hides the tree and the toolbar and I am unable to get rid of the whole page.
Query:
Is there a way to not display the page and display only the image that contains the graph? OR
Is there a way to not render the whole <iframe> and just display the graph image inside a <div> as it used to happen before?Hi Ludek, thanks for your response. Please refer the screenshots below.
1) CR ver10 - the graph <img> is simply enclosed inside a div
2) CR ver13 - the graph <img> is enclosed inside an <iframe>'s body - you can also see the scroll bars and "white-page-background" and "grey space" which I am hoping to hide or disable
3) We are using the same set of CRViewer properties in both cases:
- DisplayGroupTree = False
- DisplayToolbar = False
- HasDrillUpButton = Flase
- HasRefreshButton = False
- HasToggleGroupTreeButton = Fasle
- HasViewList = False
- HasZoomFactorList = False
- EnableViewState = True
4) Here's a screenshot of of the .rpt file opened in the VS 2012:
We only want to render the graph image on the UI and not the whole page. Is there a property setting that will help us achive this or should we define explicit CSS styles to hide those areas?
Thank you for looking into this!

Problem showing the crystal report viewer in form after added the component on it
Greetings
I have a problem running a program. I created a form which I added the component Crystal Report Viewer perfecty but during program execution when I call that form my VS 2012 Ultimate show the following error:
Translated:
Failed to create the form. See Exception.InnerException for details. Error: An exception occurred in the type initializer for 'CrystalDecisions.Shared.SharedUtils'.
Note: If I remove the component from the form. the applications runs fine when calling the form without the component CrystalReportViewer
It is something related to my VS? o just that the actual version 13.0.9 is not yet compatible?Report.Show?
How about you try:
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = <path to your report>
Or:
Dim crReportDocument As New CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine.ReportDocument
crReportDocument.Load(<path to your report>)
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument
Or, if the report is added to the project:
crReportDocument = New test
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = crReportDocument

Print Button Not Working if i not inital the Crystal Report Viewer
hiii every body here
i have problem on my web application with framework (4.0)
i use crystal report viewer (crystal report 13) and i installed the engine of crystal report and use dataset as datasource to my report and my report work fine but ....
my problem is :
i cannot export or print my crystal report 13 if i put my code on sub like that :
protected void btn_print_Click ( object sender , EventArgs e )
SP_testTableAdapter adpter = new SP_testTableAdapter();
adpter.Fill(ds.SP_test);
Reports.Learning.CrystalReports.CR_testreport my_report = new Reports.Learning.CrystalReports.CR_testreport();
my_report.SetDataSource(ds);
CrystalReportViewer1.ReportSource = my_report;
CrystalReportViewer1.DataBind();
when i use this i cannot print or export it say to me login to database fail message although i use dataset not direct database connection that mean it not need to give the report source every use of it the connection of my server details like username , password
but if i put this code to my page load the report run and showing and print correctly , i need to can use print,export and every button on reportviewer toolbar
without put the code that display report on page_load i need to put code on button event only and when i click the button it show the report and can print and export , and not need to use sesssion
need help plz ................An assumption here is that this is a web app. That being the case, you need to worry about post backs when you print or export. E.g.; almost any action the viewer will cause a post back and thus what ever data you sent to the report is now forgotten. Place the report in session and this will eliminate the issue. Search for KBA 1985571. I document the full code needed there.

The Crystal Report Viewer is unable to create its resource objects
Recently our Clients have updated to Windows 7 and IE8. we are having issues to view the Reports in Infoview.
The web server operating server is Windows 2003, Crystal Reports XI Release 2 and BOE R2 SP2 is installed in it. Activex Viewer is downloading fine in client machine having Windows XP OS (IE Version is 7) but for the same url ActiveXViewer.cab is not getting downloaded in Windows 7 Enterprise (IE Version is 8). It throws the error u201CThe Crystal Report Viewer is unable to create its resource objects.u201D
Does BOE R2 SP2 support on IE8?
ThanksTested Windows 7 And IE8 browser to view Reports in Infoview for different user preference setting.

How to add custom buttons in the tool bar of the crystal reports viewer
Hi,
I'm using Crystal report viewer (Crystal 2008) in my report and I want to add custom buttons and handle them in the tool bar of the viewer. Is there anyway to achieve this?
Please help me in this regard.
Thanks in advance.
Siva.I did this by adding a picturebox to the toolbar, the same size as the buttons, and loading in an image, and putting code into the Click event of the picturebox.
I also put code into the MouseHover event to change the picture's background color and into the MouseLeave event to change it back.
I have a couple of these buttons. They work very nicely and really look like part of the toolbar. -
Where is the Crystal Reports Viewer
I will try to make this short. Had a very successful .net system with crystal reports XI on a windows 2003 server which was developed on a licensed copy of visual studio 2005. The client that was responsible for paying for the server didn't and the server was wiped clean. So now I do not have a licensed copy of visual studio (yet) and the new server is windows 2008 r2. I have everything working mostly. The reports are coming up, but not in crystal reports viewer. They look like a regular web page. I also cannot test the crystal reports because I do not have a licensed version of visual studio anymore and the express version of VS 2010 does not have crystal. Is there a way to got the viewer to work on the server without having to compile/build through VS2010? I need the viewer because some of the reports are on 11x17 paper and they need the print capabilities that the viewer provides. Thank you for your help!! Nancy Smith
Sorry Nancy. I do not have any good news for you.
Re; Is there a way to got the viewer to work on the server without having to compile/build through VS2010?
- No there is not
For vs2010, you will need CRVS2010 which you can download from [here|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/crystalreports-dotnet]. Unfortunately, it is not possible to integrate CRVS2010 into the express version of VS 2010...

Overflow field Representation is not getting in the crystal report viewer
Hi ,
I am using Crystal report 2008 and Visual Studio 2008(C#) .
In CR designer for number fields I am setting AllowFieldClipping to False(Un Checked) ,
It works fine in the Designer , but when I put the same report in CrystalReportViewer, the numeric feilds are Clipping(Overflowing).. i need to display this field as #####..
Can anyone help me to overcome this...
Thanks in Advance,
Salah.This issues has been resolved - for the Winform viewer.
A fix for the Webform viewer has been rejected. Reason;
"... with the current implementation of the .NET web form viewer, there is a risk of losing data."
A fix is being requested for next version of Crystal Reports.

Crystal report viewer does not observe the PaperSize and PageOrientation setting
Hi:
My application is a 3 tier application, where the WinForm client is connected to the WCF Services hosted in IIS server.
The report is generated on server side using WCF service, and export as.rpt with data, the .rpt file is then sent to the WinForm client, the Crystal Report viewer is used to load the .rpt file for preview and print.
On server side I've Microsoft XPS Document Writer installed and set as default printer. On the client side if the default printer is XPS or Nitro PDF creator, the report can be view and print correctly, report design in landscape will be able to show in the landscape in CR viewer, report design using custom paper size (e.g. Half Letter), CR viewer able to show it in Half Letter.
The problem that I'm facing is when the default printer is set to HP LaserJet P1120 or others (I've tried Epson ESC/P Standard driver), the report is always shown in the portrait, and it will not be able to show in custom paper size either. Here is my code:
Dim settings As New System.Drawing.Printing.PrinterSettings
Dim rep as New ReportDocument
rep.Load(sOutputFileName) 'The report is download from server and save in sOutputFileName
SetReportPaperSize(rep, sPaperSizeName, False, settings) ' sPaperSizeName store the name of the custom paper used in the report
CrViewer.ReportSource = rep
Public Shared Sub SetReportPaperSize(rep As ReportDocument, paperSizeName As String, isHardCopy As Boolean, settings As Printing.PrinterSettings)
Dim installedPrinters As Printing.PrinterSettings.StringCollection = Printing.PrinterSettings.InstalledPrinters
Dim printers As New List(Of String)
Dim sPrinter As String
If installedPrinters.Count = 0 Then
Return
End If
SetPrinterDefaultPaperSize(rep.PrintOptions, paperSizeName, settings)
With rep.PrintOptions
.PrinterName = settings.PrinterName
.PaperSource = PaperSource.Auto
If paperSizeName.Trim.Length > 0 Then
.PaperSize = DirectCast(GetPapersizeId(paperSizeName, settings, rep.PrintOptions.PaperSize), CrystalDecisions.Shared.PaperSize)
End If
End With
End Sub
Public Shared Sub SetPrinterDefaultPaperSize(printOptions As PrintOptions, paperSizeName As String, settings As Printing.PrinterSettings)
With settings.DefaultPageSettings
If paperSizeName.Trim.Length = 0 Then
. PaperSize = GetPaperSize (printOptions.PaperSize, settings)
Else
For Each size As Printing.PaperSize In settings.PaperSizes
If size.PaperName.EqualsTo(paperSizeName) Then
.PaperSize = size
Exit For
End If
Next
End If

Setting the PrintOptions.PaperSize and PageOrientation seem like no effect on the viewer. My code to load the report to CR viewer is much more complicated than the code I show above, I've a background worker thread to download the report, and when the worker thread finished download the report from the server, it will assign the report to CRViewer. Do the changes in report PrintOption before assign to CRViewe and after assigning to CRViewer make any different?
I'm using VS2010, CR XI R2 (Version 11.5.3700.0). Please Help. Thanks
Regards
JC VoonHi JC,
CRXI R2 is a no go with VS 2010, these two are not compatible.
With CR 11.5 use VS 2005.
Or Use VS 2010 and CR for VS 2010 (13.0)
Once you have the supported / compatible conbination of CR and VS, use the In Proc RAS .NET code from below KBA.

Also, see the KBAs returned by below search. The top right corner search box on this page is quite helpful.
