Well, maybe just a few, but I just wanted to say Apple that iPhoto 6 is a huge improvement over 5. You finally got me to switch from iView, and for the most part, I'm very happy with the results. I used to shoot in RAW+jpeg because I usually wanted to e-mail a bunch of shots quickly to the in-laws wihout futzing around with conversions for every picture, but now I let iPhoto create the jpegs for me on import. I actually love the way iPhoto automatically creates jpegs from the RAW's for mailing or sharing on the web. Saves me a lot of space on the camera cards now that I can just shoot in RAW and leave the jpeg creation to iPhoto. For the small subset of RAW's that I want to fully process, I just control+click edit to open up DPP or photo shop, where I fully process and then save in TIFF and then use an automator to bring the Tiff back into iPhoto. Works like a charm, and I don't have to fudge around in the iView library keeping track of zillions of jpeg's and RAW's. I also like the way iPhoto keeps your original RAW intact no matter what edits you make.
Even though the new iPhoto lets you reference files, ala iView, I've decided to abandon this practice, and let the app manage folders for me. I learned after using iView for the last few years, that there isn't much point in managing files if you also have albums and keywords. I always thought it was important to manage files, but I just ended up piling everything into year folders anyway and then using catalogs and keywords to organize. There's just no need to fight the app. Might as well use the visual interface, albums, and keywords, and leave the plumbing to iPhoto.
iView has far more robust keywording and tagging, but it frankly was overkill for my 7,000 photo library. For those times when I want to archive off-line, I'll probably use iView since it excels at that, but everything online will stay on iPhoto.
I might make the jump to Aperture once it get's beyond beta (it sure seems like it's still beta) but then again, iPhoto's pretty darn good for my needs. Oh, and thanks Apple for fixing the performance issues. iPhoto 5 was unusable, but 6 is a screamer.

i downloaded an update from creative suite 5.5. to 6.0 and then switched computers for a few months. now I am back using the original computer and it looks like all of those Adobe applications (both 5.5 and 6.0) have disappeared. Maybe a "trial" was uploaded instead of the actual updates? Anyway, i just want to get the applications back onto my computer. i tried to enter the serial numbers on my original packaging but systems side error message from Adobe says they were already "redeemed" (which makes sense bc I already downloaded the updates. you could have upgraded from 5.5 to 6.0, but you would know that because you paid money.

Adobe no longer supports the installation and use of Acrobat 6 as it is a very old version which is not compatible with Windows 7.
I would suggest you to please use the latest version of Acrobat i.e. 11.0.10 which is fully compatible with your OS with its enhanced features and functions.

ONLY the carrier it is locked to can authorize unlocking it. You will have to contact them. Since you are not the original purchaser of the phone and do not have service with whatever carrier it might be locked to, it is highly unlikely you will get it unlocked.
Since it was hacked to unlock it originally, it is highly likely that the phone will become a brick if you attempt to apply a legitimate unlock.
Actually, it is probably already a brick.
There is nothing we can suggest other than to google "iphone dfu mode" and try doing a restore in DFU mode to see if that can bring it back to life. It may. If so, you will then need to work with the carrier it's locked to or sell it and buy a new phone. -
I just restored my ipod and the power button works, as well as the home button but when I slide the unlock button it doesn't respond. Basically it is not sensing that I am touching it and I can not get out of the home screen. I've tried restoring it and restarting it but nothing seems to work. I've tried everything, is there anything I can do myself to fix it?

- Also try DFU mode after try recovery mode

I need to delete all my photos off my iphone because I have run out of local storage. I have synced with my Mac but also wanted online backup. Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

P.S: For the iphone 4S. is there any difference for the one from online shop or the actual store?iPhones purchased from the online Apple Store in Australia will be unlocked. To the best of my knowledge, unlocked iPhone are not available from the physical Apple Stores at this time, though you can call the Apple Store in Melbourne and inquire.
Note that the warranty on iPhones is not international, so if you purchase an iPhone in Australia and it needs service, you would have to ship the iPhone to someone in Australia to take or send to Apple for service and then ship it back to you.

I sometimes will open several windows, especially from my Comcast mailbox. When I am through with that window, I will close it, but leave the other ones open. FIrefox won't do this any more, When I close 1 window, Firefox send me a message stating that it is CLOSING ALL TABS. I DONT WANT TO CLOSE all of them, I just want to close the window I am closing!. This is very annoying, because I have to re-log back into everything, because FIrefox is "CLOSING ALL TABS", and all I want to to close ONE window...I am about ready to chuck this browser....I tried to find an answer to this in tools, but was unable to do so. Thanks for your suggestions. I checked to see if the options you suggested were set incorrectly but they were set to sync all. This led me to think the problem was actually in the iphone. I re-initialized the iphone and did not allow the system to restore any of the previous settings. In essence, I forced the phone to reset to factory settings. Then my video podcasts started syncing. All is well now. I did notice that I had seven podcasts selected that were "HD" presentations, and as such, are not compatible with the iphone. I don't know if this had anything to do with my earlier situation, but now I'm getting the video podcasts automatically. I'm happy. It wasn't much fun forcing the iphone to forget all of my preferences and I'm still customizing the phone now several days later. I think I have everything working and back to normal except I haven't identified any of my email accounts as of yet. Thanks for your help.

Your posts was great you were not whining about your rights to file complaints to the FCC or FTC etc. One of the best I have read.
And I am not trying to sway you from your phone choice. If you looked at my avitar it shows apple iphones. But I use and have used androids and not Windows phones.
However your numbers of windows phone users all leaving over the issue is miniscule in the number of users of Android and iOS devices.
I have written many times I wish all the devices get updated like iOS devices do. But at present that is not happening
No bashing, no adversarial post just a little common sense is all I use.
