Well which of you has the best update on there N73

I had Product Code 0541044 and it was ok even voice rec work ok.
After sending the phone away due to it keep freezing and crashing, while it was a way they updated it, now I have 0539101
My New is V3.06.38.0.0.1
I can not remember what my old phone said.
My question is because I dont like the voice rec on this new software I want to know what I should do? wait till I see if they up date to a better one or send it back to have the old one put back on or can any one out there tell me what they have and that works fine on everthing even the voice Rec.

Hi All,
I have a N73 that just got pooched this morning when I tried to update it using the Nokia Software updater. Now when I turn on the phone all I see is "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer"
I'm not sure what version it tried to update to - I just accepted the default that it showed - I downloaded it today from the Nokia site, so I assume it's the latest and greatest.
I just had the phone unlocked so I could use my t-mobile SIM, and noticed that there was a bunch of extra programs and Vodafone junk on it, so I thought since I haven't yet moved my contacts over that I would just give it a flash to get it to factory conditions.
Of course the first thing I did after panicking was to google for the error message, and found a bunch of helpful posts mentioning that a possible way to do a hard reset was to:
power off the phone (the only way to do that right now is to remove the battery)
Press and hold the:
- green connect key (the one used to make a call)
- 3 key
- * key
While pushing the power button to cycle the power on.
All this seems to do is turn the phone on. No reloading of default(good) firmware - the white Nokia logo shows and briefly flashes once and then up comes the evil error message!
It seems like such a simple thing that I don't see how you can get it wrong if you try multiple times -
Press and hold *
Press and hold 3
Press and hold Green key
(and now with the fingers of my left had contorted to hold all 3 keys pressed)
Press and release the power button, and keep the other keys pressed
Output:
-=Beeps =-
Dim Nokia startup screen
screen blinks once
Bright Nokia startup screen
And shows message: "Phone start-up failed. Contact the retailer."
And then sigh and release the 3 keys.
And then write this post.

The built-in microphones on the camcorder are fairly similar. When you're recording music, we recommend the use of an external microphone.
The mic you use really depends on what you're recording and where.
So we may better assist you, please provide a bit of information regarding the type of recordings you'll be making, the music and the setting (i.e. what kind of venue, your distance to the music, etc).

Someday - and no one knows when that day will come - maybe all applications will be able to take advantage of the Retina display. But for the present, not many do: including all Adobe applications. There was a demo of Photoshop at the Apple World Wide Developers Conference of Photoshop running at native Retina resolutions but no one at Adobe in marketing is saying when, if or how the upgrade may be coming. It could be a week, it could be a year, it could be 2-3 years. No one knows. And only Apple app's (for the main part) are really utilizing the native Retina display.
I've seen some demos of some applications (Apple's) that take advantage of the Retina display and they're awesome. But in actually working in the here-and-now I've heard quite a few gripes, particularly on the Photoshop forum, of menus looking pixelated and/or 'blurry' so I'm not quite ready to jump into the Retina display boat just now. Don't get me wrong - others have ad are very, very pleased with their selection. But until Retina displays are available on larger monitors, the maximum work area that you're going to be able to use is 15" - and that's simply not enough room for full-blown graphic design. Then there's the cost factor - for the $4,000+ you spend for a completely full-blown Retina kit, you can get a standard MacBook Pro, 16 GB of RAM, a fast SSD and even the Apple Thunderbolt Display for the same amount.
The standard MacBook Pro isn't better than the Retina display: it's just different. And I think (and this is only my opinion - other graphic designers should feel free to jump in here) that it's the best computer that you can get for your specific purposes. And, towards that goal, I have to recommend a very good external monitor (there's nothing more annoying than having to use InDesign in a single-page mode rather than side-by-side because your monitor isn't big enough).
Remember that this is only my opinion and that others might jump in with their own. But I was in the electronic pre-press business for more years than I care to admit and we always - always - worked with at least 19" monitors (and that's back when dinosaurs actually ruled the world).
I hope that others will jump in with their comments. I'm going to follow this thread and see!

if couldnt find out, you can use ST05 'sql trace', open 2 session, one for create start routine, and one for ST05, activate with option 'sql trace', then create start routine and 'deactivate trace' and 'display trace', and check out the tables list

Only on them fits in the screen window and that makes the font so tiny. The others are too wide or too tall. I usually view at 150 - 200% for vision issues.

You say it's better to do the Media Browser? I'm fairly new to movie, dvd and garage band. How would I go about using the Media Browser instead of straight to iDVD?
Select Your project - go up to Share - Share to Media Browser and as Large (Not HD)
In iDVD select a nice theme - click on Media button - click on Movie - Select Your movie.
NOW - Save as a DiskImage - and test this before burning DVDs - if this Plays OK then either burn the Image by using Disk Util tool (and set down burn-speed to x4) - or burn via iDVD (will take more time)
I want to keep as much quality as I can.
Then don't use iMovie'08 or 09 or 11 - as they all discard every second line resulting in less quality on the DVD. I use iMovie HD6 or FinalCut any version.
Also...I tried to split my project in iMovie...but couldn't find a way. I wound up just making a copy and then deleting out a handful of scenes from the copy...I still have the original at 4:12hrs. Is there a way in iMovie to split a project?
I would make a copy and cut away a bit from the end - calling this Part 1 and from start of the other copy Part 2.
OR - there are other programs that can squees in more to a DVD e.g. Roxio Toast™ - BUT this has two cons.
• It costs - to me it was well spent mony as it can so much more e.g. back engineer a DVD to an editable form
• Squeesing in more on a DVD - costs in QUALITY - and as You want as much as it can be - then 90 minuts portions encoded with Pro-Quality encoding and full quality interlasced material from a video-editor that delivers this is the way to get 100% of what DVDs can do.
DVD is as standard only SD-Video - HD not possibly. Then You need Blu-Ray. (also Roxio Toast™)

If your budget is unlimited, look at both the retina and non-retina and make a decision based on your preferences. If funds are tight, explore the options in the refurbished section. Unless you are dealing with courses that demand specific performance parameters, any one of these options will suffice.

I want to use my TFT monitor (HPvs19 ) with a MacMini and a Casablanca KRON PC. The monitor works good with both computers, when connecting them separately.
I've bought a KVM switch MiniView Micro USB Plus (IOGear GCS632U) connected it as written in the IOGear Installation Manual. Now I can use the monitor with my MacMini and my Mac keyboard, but I cannot switch to the PC.
In the IO Gear manual several methods to switch ports are written. But every method starts by invoking HotKey mode.
The manual reads :
"To invoke HotKey mode, do the following:
1. Press and hold down the NumLock key
2. Press and release the minus- key
3. Release the NumLock key"
and
"When HotKey mode is active, the Caps Lock, and Scroll Lock LEDs flash in succession to indicate that Hotkey mode is in effect."
I've tried many times to do this pressing/releasing on my Mac keyboard. Within different time/speeds. But with no result... I CANNOT get in the HotKey mode...
What can I do? Are there other ways to get in HotKey mode with my Mac keyboard (bought with my previous iMac some 4 years ago)? Or are there other ways of switching with the IO Gear KVM Switch?

1) All primitive types (except long and double) are pushed onto the stack as 32-bit entities and are 32-bit aligned. The reference types are pushed as a reference and occupy 32-bit also.
2) If the method have had tens or hundreds of parameters, the opcodes for accessing some parameters will have short offsets and other parameters will have long offsets. When you have only 3 or 4 parameters there is no difference between the offsets needed to access each parameter. The difference of time used for the interpreter or JIT compiler for dealing with short or long offsets usually is negligible.
3) So the better way to speed up your program is to forget micro-optimization and concentrate in better algorithms and caching data if possible.

What could be possibly better than an Apple product for an Apple product.
Actually there are various areas where Safari is defective compared to other browsers. For example it lacks the ability to override the fonts of a website with fonts of your own choosing. Also it cannot send a different language identifier for multilingual webpages without changing the language for the entire OS. Whether the defects matter depends of course on each user's individual requirements.
