Welsh language support in Portal

Does anyone know if/when the Welsh Language will be supported in Portal?
UK Government related sites have to have this language as well as English.
Regards
Jenny

Hi Jenny,
I can support this - I am struggling to design an intranet in both Welsh and English.
Who do we need to talk to in Oracle to get this one rolling.
Bye the way I understand you did some work recently for the Forestry Commission in Edinburgh. I am also looking for some similar work to be undertaken but have not been offered your name as a consultant. Are you interested? Please mail me URGENTLY if you are.
Cheers
Clive

  • Welsh Language Support in Pages and Keynote

Is Welsh language supported within Pages like on Microsoft Office? If so - how do I set it up?

You can switch your Mac to Welsh:
Menu > Apple > System Preferences > Language & Text > Edit List > check Cymraeg > OK > drag to top of list
There is however no dictionary for Welsh in Pages, but you can install 3rd party dictionaries in OSX, obtained from OpenOffice or other open sources or 3rd party commercial sources.

PS Which Welsh were you after? Always the problem for small langauges.

  • Welsh language support

While there is no Welsh language pack for the phone (so bad news for some 2 million people for whom Welsh is their first language), the pronunciation of Welsh place names on driving directions on the Here maps app has to be the worst I have ever heard. Welsh is an easy language to pronounce. Letters are pronounced the same wherever they are, and there are no silent letters. Come on Nokia, get with it!

    There you go …

  • Installing language support for Portal

    Hi,
I want to set up portal 3.0 for dutch language. In the config guide included on the cd's it says to install this with the langinst.cmd which should be in /wwv/src directory. But this file is in the plsql directory. When I run the langinst.cmd I get an error that it can't find the directory with the language settings.
Is there an update of this config file as it seems to be wrong.

    hi again,
solved the problem. The online Oracle9iAS Portal: Configuration Guide
is different then the that came on the cd. The instructions on the online guide worked. The instructions that came on the cd refer to directories and files that don't exist.

  • Language support for Portal for NT EA

there's one for Portal in iAS 1.0.2
can i apply script from that Portal
    for Portal EA for NT?
if yes where can i get this script

You should not run any scripts from the production version of Portal within the EA version. The product version of Portal should be available in the next few weeks for NT.

  • Regarding Language support

    Hi,
Is there a standard language support for Portal and ECC in Russian and Ukranian given by SAP.
Where can I find this details? Any idea on this is highly appreciated.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Vivek.

    Hi Vivek.,
The answer is yes, both the portal and ECC support Russian and Ukrainian.  If you check the Platform availability matrix, http://service.sap.cm/pam  choose netweaver, choose the language tab then portal you will find russian available since October 2005 and Ukrainian since January 2008
As for ECC same link, choose ECC and then the language tab, Russian since October 2005 and Ukrainian since April 2008
    Hope this helps.

  • Portal items that can have Language support

    Hi,
what are the Portal items that can have Language support + HTML code in it.please suggest me
    Please suggest me.
    Thanks
    sona

Hi, of course you can uninstall Firefox, but that should not be necessary since it is a different program from IE, and there should be no interaction between them.
To see the bookmarks bar on Firefox, please right click in the tab bar - but not on a tab, and tick/check Bookmarks Toolbar. If you wish, you can also do the same for Menu Bar, or to bring it up temporarily, just press the Alt key.

  • Multi Language support : which release of portal?

    Is multi-language supported in 3.0.6?
I know it is supported in 3.0.7, but what about 3.0.6?
Furthermore, I heard there are knowns problems with 3.0.7 language support.
Is it worth waiting 3.0.8 or can we pretty safely use 3.0.7?
    Thanks

In 3.0.7 we have still problems with multi language support.
We are switching to 3.0.8 which seems to be solution of almost all our's problems. (Bugs and missing features)

  • Localization of Languages in SAP Portal 7.3

    Hello Folks,
We have implemented SAP Portal 7.3 and want to include local Indian Languages (Hindi, Marathi etc) for the users. We referred the SAP Help Portal for customizing languages applicable for older portal versions
    Link: [http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/49/e607426338da6fe10000000a1550b0/content.htm]
From the link above, we searched for an .EAR (com.sap.security.core.admin.730.ear) and .WAR (com.sap.security.core.useradmin.war) files respectively for any of the standard properties file supplied with standard implementation. But, we did not get such files.
Kindly suggest/guide us to any documentation/help available to find the required files in the SAP Portal 7.3 version. Or is there a change in language customization from Portal 7.3?
    Regards,
    Rahul Juneja

    Dear Rahul,
Hindi language is not yet available in portal. You can check the below
link to see which are the Languages supported.
    https://websmp207.sap-ag.de/languages
You have to create your own Language Bundles to implement hindi,
But as of now hindi is not supported.
Can you please go through the Sap Note 1013521.

    kiruthika

  • How to determine which languages available with portal, and how to install

I have a customer who may have a need for languages that might not be default delivered with the portal.  They are able to install languages in an ABAP environment (unicode).  What I'm trying to understand is:
1.) What languages are available after a NW70 portal installation?  How can I determine this?  The pull-down list of languages in the UME record for a user is extensive, but they aren't all actually active because I tried some like Korean and the logon to portal was still English.  But then I tried Thai and that seemed to work, as did French, Spanish, etc.
2.) How can I install needed langauges for the portal?
I realize that even with the language support, the actual portal content needs to support those.  But that's an entirely different issue.

    1. Navigate to system administration > System configuration >Service configuration > Applications com.sap.portal.admin.wizardframework, and right click for configuration.
    2. Add/Remove locales to source/target locales lists separated by a comma, a semicolon or a space.
