WEP Password works on all Wireless Mac computers except Intel

O.K. So I am not a network wonk but hear me out. I am using an SMC wireless router which works fine and I have it connected to my G4 Cube for the past 3 years via ethernet. I also have a G3 Pismo and G4 Titanium powerbooks with airport cards that see the router just fine anywhere in the house. So I got an Intel iMac and it sees the airport network fine EXcept it will not recognize the WEP password (hex numbers 10 to be exact) as valid. If I go into the routers browser and disable the WEP than the iMac hooks up fine. Problem is I need to protect the network from my neighbors. Any ideas what is up here.. Thanks

A number of users in various discussion threads have complained about connection problems that started when they upgraded to OS 10.4.10. I have seen at least one concerning the upgrade from 10.4.10 to 10.4.11. The most common problem seems to be dropped connections, as opposed to unrecognized passwords, but these problems could be related.
My own experience with a MacBook originally running 10.4.10, subsequently upgraded to 10.4.11, is that it suffers more connection difficulties than older 10.3 Macs. It initially would not connect to my network when I entered the password--I had to go through the process mentioned above whereby I added it to a fresh "Preferred networks" list. Since then, I have not received an error message at the password stage, although the connection is sometimes irregular, especially when the computer is in the same room as the base station, which I attribute to wireless interference. I imagine that if interference is causing packets to be dropped in your case, it could produce an error at the WEP password authentication stage or slowness using WPA. You might try testing the computer in another location.
Another option to try, in case your preference file is corrupted, would be to move the file
"com.apple.airport.preferences.plist" to the desktop from Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences > SystemConfiguration, then shut down. Upon restart, the system will create a new preference file that might be cleaner.

I've tried both. First, I tried on my pc, where iTunes had installed iCloud when it last updated. I have iTunes installed on this computer (and on my iPad and iPhone), but that wasn't the issue.
So I went online, thinking I needed a separate iCloud Apple ID, but it prompted me for my current Apple ID and gave me the message about my ID being "valid" but not an iCloud account," which, lol, was what it had asked me to do in order to create one. Thanks for the suggestion, Chris. I actually did not resolve the issue which is why i did not post an answer.
it turns out that my iphone seems to default to an incorrect User ID (it defaults to an @me account, which is not something that i have ever used).
even when i change the User ID in my settings for the iTunes store, it still appears when i attempt to get updates for my existing apps. however, it does seem to use the correct ID when i attempt to purchase new apps.
If someone actually had an answer to correct this, i would love to update my existing apps.

Assuming you saved it it will be in your Keychain (Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access)

My exchange email doesn't work on my macbook air 2012 (lion) but it works in all other macs

I tried to set up an exchange account on this machine (I tested the settings in 3 other mac computers and the exchange account worked in all 3 machines) and it doesn't sync anything.
I installed all the updates for laptop and for outlook
I reinstalled office 2010
I deleted all keychain entries
I was unable to get it to work.
Is there any extra steps I should consider?

In mail, click window then connection doctor to see if it gives you any additional information.
Sometimes, you can get that message if your name under the incoming mail server isn't fully qualified. For example, for at&t, they require the form "[email protected]" while some other mail services are OK with just "userid".

I have been trying to log-in to my iTunes and my MacBook Pro. But it won't accept my pw. So I reset it. The new pw works with all my other apple devices (iCloud, iPhone, AppleTV, etc) but NOT with my iTunes. ***??

By 'old ID' do you mean a different account or a previous version of the same account ? All content that you download from the store is tied to the account that you download it with, so only that account will be able to download updates to its apps.
What's the actual error message that you are getting ? If I try to sign into an account in Settings > iTunes & App Sotre that doesn't exist I get a popup with 'Could Not Sign In - Your Apple ID or password is incorrect'

WEP not working? TIVO Wireless

I have an Airport Express configured with WPA and it works fine. Now I"m trying to incorporate a TIVO Wireless system and it requires WEP. THe problem is that when I reconfigure the Airport to WEP, it loses it's connection (blinking amber light). Is there some other setting I must change for the Airport Express to work correctly configured for WEP? THanks!

Power Cycle your Airport Express. Just unplug the Airport Express from the power source wait 2 minutes and plug it back in.
if that doesn't work then
You might have to do a reset

Links not working correctly on non-mac computers

Hi guys-
I have a quicktime movie (mad via keynote) as an intro into my homepage, mimicking what flash does for most sites. I layed a few links over the movie, arranged them to front, which should take visitors to other pages on my site. This method seems to be working fine on macs, but isn't working on pc's (I tried using firefox and IE on several different pc's). It seems to have to do with the quicktime file being present as the other pages seem to be working fine. The website is www.kauaicreative.com. Any solutions or insight would be great. -Paul

One other thing I forgot to mention. On both IE and firefox (when viewed on a pc), when the cursor hovers over the link, the correct linked webpage address shows up in the bottom of the browser. On IE, it doesn't allow you to click (cursor doesn't change to hand) and on firefox instead of taking you to the webpage on the bottom of the browser, it refreshes the current page. Weird. -Paul

If you must have the iPhone in the USA, your choices are AT&T or Verizon. T-Mobile has a great selection of phones, but not the iPhone.

Comcast TV planner freezes everytime I try to open it. It works on all my other computers and in Explorer. How can I fix it.

The page loads part way and then just hangs up. The only out is to Ctrl/Alt/Delete and end program.

ID on the Mac can produce reports that may (or may not) prove helpful in diagnosing the problem. I suspect this is something not directly related to InDesign, and maybe not to any of the Adobe apps directly since you seem to be having a problem in more than one. That often inidcates a problem at the system level.
Nevertheless, it won't hurt to try to gather the reports. You'll find driections for how to generate them, and to post them on Pastebin.com (then put a link to them here) so we can see what's going on at Adobe Forums: InDesign CS5.5 Not Responding

Skype not working at all for Mac and iPhone

Hi! I'm running Skype ver.7.10 (777) on OSX Yosemite (10.10.3) on my MacBook Pro. I'm also running Skype ver.5.14.72 on my iPhone 5s on iOS 8.4. I've been having problems with Skype for Mac for the past week. It started with lagging messages in Group Chats (We have around 23 people in there, though usually only half would be online at the same time). It would take anywhere from 2 to 15 minutes to send a single word. Later, I would receive messages 30 minutes after it was sent from friends. Now, I can neither send or receive messages on Skype for Mac. Also, I would be able to chat with my contacts in private one on one chats, but when I tried to uninstall and reinstall the application, I could no longer chat with them and they would appear offline to me, even though I can confirm through webversion of Skype that they are indeed online. As for Skype for iPhone, I noticed I stopped receiving messages late yesterday, but I only got the chance to check it out now. I can no longer send or receive messages from my groups or people I've chatted with on Skype for Mac. In short, my Skype for iPhone now has the same problem for Skype for Mac. So far, I've only tried uninstalling, restarting my MacBook and reinstalling Skype. Same goes for my iPhone; uninstall, restart, reinstall. Really need help here since I have an important Skype conference call scheduled in a few hours. I'm not sure if webversion of Skype supports conference calls...? I hope this issue will be resolved soon though for now, any help will be appreciated.

I've been having a similar issue that began at approximately 7:00 pm EST last night - really hoping there's a solution soon! I've begun to receive messages from a group chat I'm in, but they're still few and far between.

IMessage works will all of my contacts except for one.

I have tried rebooting and have reset all setting and nothing has worked. Why would it be doing this, we both have iPhones and I can use iMessage with any of my other friends that have an iPhone.

Under contacts, I have her phone number listed as an iPhone and her email address (the one she uses as an Apple ID) is listed as her home email address and I am listed identically in her contact list. (We both double checked to make sure there were no typos.) I also checked appleid.apple.com both of our email addresses were verified and the phone numbers they had listed were correct.
I followed the steps in the link you provided and had no success. I made sure iMessage was on and authenticated for both of us, and checked that both our email address and phone number were listed under Settings > Messages > Send & Receive. I tried using the phones while connected to the same wi-fi, and also just using cell data with no results.

Purchased Homesharing; Homesharing is working on all three Apple devises except for Apple TV. Apple TV is showing photos, but not music. My computer is "authorized" but it is not showing up on my Apple TV. Request advise.

Apple TV is not showing the authorized computer on my network. All three other Apple devises are sharing. Apple TV is getting my pictures, but not my music or iTunes Match.

It is not properly connected to the network.
Make sure location is set correctly
DNS should be on auto (settings - general - network)
Try ethernet
Signal strength on device won't account for issues, you would need a network report from istumbler, netstumbler or similar. This will show accurate signal strength along with noise and nearby networks
