You may have done, the iTunes Store usually does have a free song on offer, but it will be an unknown artist that someone is trying to promote, not top selling songs from major artists. Is that what you were after? If so, look on the iTunes Store front page. There are also free songs available under a scheme called Creative Commons Licence, which is usually specialist material. Once again, not top selling stuff.
Usually, those who download such free music are downloading things they already know about - in other words, they know about that particular piece of music and then they find it's available under a *CC Licence.* If you simply wish to find free music, you'll probably be disappointed with what you do find.
Anything else is probably being downloaded illegally - and we cannot talk about it on this forum, it's against the rules.

If your serial number is listed as being valid at http://www.adobe.com/ then I would recommend obtaining a fresh copy of the installation files. Where can I find the size of a download for a software update now?
Since I upgraded to Mountain Lion (Mac OSX 10.8.3) this information is no longer available in software updates listing you get if you click on the Software Update menu item from the Apple menu.
I found the download size (often hundreds of megabytes for an individual update and sometimes a set of updates might amount to a few gigabytes) to be very helpful, and now that it seems no longer available (I can't even see it on the web page I came to for more information, thinking the download size would surely be specified there), it is frustrating. My current example is iTunes 11.0.3
I would greatly appreicate having this information back in the software updates listing, but since it is no longer available there, and I don't know where else to find it, if anybody can enlighten me to its whereabouts, I'd be grateful.

There is no upgrade version. The serial number that you use dictates whether or not the software is treated as an upgrade. If you purchased it as an upgrade then the serial number you have is an upgrade serial number and that will require you to provide proof that you qualify ro install/use the upgrade.

ITunes can't find the original songs
Posting this for a friend with newish Macbook. He has a 10 Gb library of songs in his iTunes, that has worked well. Now suddenly when he clicks on a song in iTunes, the app says that "original file cant be found" and he has to point the way to it. Quite annoying to do with every song.
Repairing permissions or re-selecting the iTunes Music folder in iTunes prefs does not help.
Any advice? No ext drives, just plain vanilla Macbook and latest iTunes.Easiest way to fix that is to find the CD, reload it, and take the files off the other place on your computer. Another way is instead of putting it right onto iTunes, take it to "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\iTunes Music\Unknown Artist". In there, past the music then double click them one at a time. The file will start to play on iTunes and will save itself under its Artist's name/names. There shouldn't be any problem after that.
Now lets see if you can help me. Call be stupid, but I can't figure out how to post my own topic.

I stopped by my local Apple Store yesterday and asked about purchasing Snow Leopard for my macbook. I am a mobile me subscriber and I was told that there is a free upgrade available on apple.com. I have searched, but cannot find the form to fill out to receive my disk. Anyone know where I can find the application?
