Were can I get either MacBook Pro or Mac-air with English united state style keyboard, in Japan

Hi Melophage,
Thank you very much for your response. I have a similar question to the one Abraham has, but applied to an offline Apple Store, say, the one in Ginza.
I will have little time in Tokyo, and would like to get a MacBookPro with a US or Int'l keyboard (with or without Hiragana, I don't really care as long as there are English letters on the keyboard) off the shelf from an offline store. However, I keep getting conflicting responses from both within Apple and on forums.
There's an option to get a US keyboard when ordering from Apple online, and that's fine. How about the in-store pickup option? Is there one, or will there be a MacBookPro with an English keyboard if I just show up at a store one day soon?
I would greatly appreciate an answer if you have one. Thanks in advance!

  • I can't get my macbook pro linked to my HP PPhotosmart 5510 printer

I can't get my macbook pro linked (wirelss) to my HP PPhotosmart 5510 printer? When I put the CD in the drive and try to install it says I need OSX 10.5 or 10.6. Please help!...

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities.
Try downloading the latest drivers and updates, including a 'critical update' for OS X 10.7 'Lion' directly from HP:
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?os=219&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&sw _lang=&product=5063582#N179
If the direct link above doesn't work, you can navigate your way through about three layers of HP menus, starting at hp.com, then Printers, selecting your Photosmart model, and eventually reaching Software and Driver downloads, and OS X.

  • How can i get my macbook pro too stay on and not sleep when lid is closed?

how can i get my macbook pro too stay on and not sleep when lid is closed?

If the machine is asleep, lid closed, and you plug in to an external monitor and an external USB keyboard, the machine will wake, anbd reconfigure the screen resolution for the external monitor, Once it has made this configuration change, you can open the lid and it will continue to address only the external monitor.  At least that's how my early MacBook Pro unibody 13" works. It seems to run a bit cooler this way. It gets quite toasty with the lid closed while doing anything demanding and you are more likely to hear the fan come on.  I have not seen any temps that would cause alarm, but I do get a high speed (6000 rpm), noisy fan sometimes with the lid closed, .
If you operate in the open-lid, external monitor only mode, if you deactivate the monitor for any reason, when it reactivates it will be running both screens, with all the navigation hassles this entails, so I generally set it not to deactivate the screen when in this mode.
Thus I agree with those who say that some of the cooling air is drawn in around the keyboard, the difference in cooling performance is observable.  If you activate istat pro, get the computer hot running in clamshell mode, and open the lid, you can watch the CPU temp drop by a few degrees C within a couple minutes.  It isn't a huge difference, but enough the lower the fan speeds.

  • MacBook Pro and Mac Air - "external monitor"

Is it possible to connect MacBook Pro and Mac Air and use one as an "external monitor"? And if so, which cable would I need?

    Hi Hello1852,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
To use another Mac as a secondary display with your Mac, it will need to be an iMac, not a portable Mac.  To learn more about using another Mac as a secondary display, take a look at the article below.

  • Where can I get my MacBook Pro Cleaned to be Brand N E W? :]

I wish to get my MacBook Pro, cleaned just about everywhere. Some places specificly I wan't to look new includes the key's, under the keys, on the glass screen, the bottom of the screen where the fan's are, the magsafe adapter port (seems to have accumulated black stuff), the track pad, and the bottom of the laptop. My question is, if I drop it off at the Apple Store, will they help me out? Will they clean it? I assume the least they would do would sell me supplies to do it myself, and that this is a stupid question, but if there is any products out there, any idea if the genius would have it overnight to be cleaned, or any answer at all would be very helpful . .  .. .

Kappy- thanks for the heads up.
Does that program give me the ability to simply sync the two computers? and not have to reinstall everything?
    Sorry I'm not a techie!
Also- do you know if there is a way to , or does the above do, a copy of my mailboxes from various email folders on my desktop?
So I'm seeing all emails deleted and responded to, etc. across all my platforms?
When I checked the icloud mail option, in preferences, it only set up an icloud email account but does not appear to readjust any of my other desktop emails, (which are not applemails but incoming mail from websites.)
    Thanks again.
    Nick

Can I attach my HP monitor w1907 to Mac air with a DVI cable?

You need to use a DVI to Mini DisplayPort adapter; for a 30-inch display, the adapter needs to be dual-link.

  • Where can I get new Macbook Pro 'feet'

I am trying to find a place that sells the rubber pads that are on the bottom of my macbook pro because one of them fell off. Does anyone know where I can find one? ...for under $20?

I went into AppleStore United Kingdom in December 2011 and was quoted over £100 to replace the whole bottom cover of MacBook Pro 2009. I was told that they can't replace the feet alone.
I went back in May 2012 and was told that they now have a part available to replace just the feet! "076-1398 MacBook Pro Foot Installation Kit, Single Pack." Each foot costs £7.00 but the two missing feet were replaced for free under Applecare support. I regret that I did not ask for all 4 feet to be replaced concurrently. Even if they weren't detached the plastic supports have got brittle over time due to heat stress. They are bound to fail soon. So make sure you get all four replaced.
If you're in DIY mode and don't have AppleCare you may want to use rubber tap washers from your hardware store. These should be stuck on with the best glue you have available. Do it on a flat surface near where the old feet were located. That way you get 100% contact rather than trying to put them over the indentations where feet are supposed to go. It won't look extremely pretty but the rubber has excellent grip and not many people are going to look at underside of computer.

  • How can i get my MacBook Pro to output a 120 hZ signal to my TV?

I have a 2012 MacBook pro and an Insignia 120 Hz television.  I would like to watch movies/play games on my TV in 120 hertz.  What cables do i need, and what do i have to do to get this to work.  It currently shows that the highest refresh rate i can reach in the display settings is 60 Hz.  Is this because of the cables i'm using?  I currently have the rocketfish minidisplay to hdmi adapter hooked up to a hdmi cable to the tv.  I have read other discussions relating to this issue but they got congested with people's personal issues.  An approach i saw to getting this to work was by getting the Mini-Display port to Dual-Link DVI adapter. If this is the best means of accomplishing my goals, where do i go from there?  And please, no bull****.  If you know the answer/could help, help; if you don't know the answer, don't post.
    Thanks!

You have to format it first using Disk Utility.

  • Where can i get the macbook pro (2010) bootcamp drivers for windows 7?

I recently decided to install windows 7 ultimate (32-bit) on my macbook pro (2010 model). However my macbook did not come with installation disks, i know this for a fact and it came pre installed with 10.6. And when i try to download the windows support files through bootcamp assistant, it says that the download cannot continue. So where can i get these drivers from?

All MBP's with Snow Leopard (10.6) came with an installaton disc, and that is where the drivers are, if you don't have (or didn't get) the disc contact Apple for a replacement, there is no downloadable version of BC3

  • Can I get my Macbook Pro just checked out and tuned up at the genius bar?

I'm having a hard time getting my questions answered. Basically I've had my Macbook Pro for four and a half years, but it's still doing mostly fine. It's just showing it's age slightly I think, with more spinning wheels than usual and odd things like the date is usually set to 1999 when I turn the computer on, but it rights itself in a few minutes. Also most the time when I plug it in it says it's not charging and I have to try multiple times. None of this is a huge deal, it's just that I really need the computer to last me preferably at least another year, so I worry about it a bit. I do take good care of it though. I'm about to move out of the country for a year, so I'd like to get it just checked out and perhaps tuned up a bit so that any problems are taken care of and it's in the best shape before I move away. I'd like to make a genius bar appointment, but the closest Apple store is a two hour drive from my home, so I don't want to go into it not having any idea how much it will cost or if they'll even be able to do what I'm hoping in the span of a single workday. I really don't want to have to drive back later to pick it up or have it sent off somewhere to be repaired, although if it does have serious problems I'd be willing to do that. I'd just like to know going in to it what the price range is likely to be like. I don't want to make the drive to the Apple store and have them tell me it's going to be a few hundred dollars just to have my computer looked over. And I don't even know if they offer that service, let alone if they can do it in a single afternoon. I've tried calling the store and conversations with the automated person really are not helpful. He just tells me to go online and make a reservation, and I can't figure out how to get my questions about cost and service answered.
Also, am I being foolish hoping my four and a half year old Macbook will last at least another year or two? I have no idea what the "life expectancy" is for these things. I know nothing really about computers at all, so forgive my ignorance.
Any help and insight is very much appreciated.

The genius bar technicians can check your MBP for possible hardware problems and specific software issues that you may have.  The diagnosis will be free.  Any extensive repairs will not be free.
If you have minor software problems, you essentially will have to deal with them yourself.  Examine these two comprehensive documents for possible problem definition and solutions.  If you encounter problems that you are unable to cope with, start a new discussion and there will be persons willing to assist you in solving them.

  • How can i get a macbook pro in the caribbean especially trinidad and tobago

I have been a pc user for years and I am tired of them not living up to standard. I viewed the presentations about macbook pro and I am wondering why I never used it before.
Anyway I am a teacher and loved what I saw the the iwork software was capable of but I have no where of accessing a store to purchase one. Is there any way I could get access to purchasing one?
In Trinidad and Tobago pc's arepopular but I think if teachers got a chance to experience the capabilities of a mac they would switch. Any ideas on how I can get one?

You can look for an actual Apple Authorized Reseller here - http://www.apple.com/lae/buy/
Trinidad & Tobago are listed in the first "find a reseller" list there, so there should be some.
see https://locate.apple.com/tt/en/ - I entered Port of Spain here and it popped up with at least 6 resellers.

I apologize if this question has been asked before.  I am new to MAC and know almost nothing about configuring them.

Add it in the Users & Groups, Login Items area.

  • How can I fix my MacBook Pro losing wireless connectivity with Epson Stylus NX625 printer.  It will work once and then I get an error saying the printer is not connected.

I can connect to my Epson Stylus NX625 through my wireless network and print a page or two, but then the next time I go to print it says that the printer is not connected.  Any fixes?  I have tried deleting the printer and re-adding it to my MacBook Pro OS X version 10.9.4, but sometimes it doesn't even find it, and other times it says it is connected, but when I go to print it says not connected.  Very frustrated.  I have also installed the latest drivers, etc.
    What now?

Your computer is going to run hot while playing CPU/GPU intensive games - it should heat up and the fans should be noticably loud. As to why it's 'crashing' - can you post a kernel panic log? You may have some third-party kexts that are causing the problems.
