Unless you have configured iCloud on the MacBook Air and made sure that Find My Mac was turned on, you can't track that. And even if you did do that, that is not a foolproof method of tracking, as it relies on the thief connecting to the internet using the guest account on the machine and not getting in to your account and disabling Find My Mac or wiping the hard drive and installing a clean system.
As for the iPad, similar rules apply there. If it is a wifi-only iPad, it cannot be tracked any other way. If it has 3G, your wireless carrier may be able to help you track it.

Is there any way to track a stolen laptop using the mac address, or by triangulating the wifi, or even by checking to see if the macbooks serial number has been registered online anywhere?

A little info on my question,
I had it stoeln on June 22nd 2013. I had recently bought it so had not installed any software on it nor did I have registered with icloud. I had contacted police, registered it stolen with Apple (but then just discovered this week that apple do not have a database for stolen products, which makes no sense at all).
I have contacted all the major pawn shops and computer stores in town etc etc. I have recently discovered that each laptop has a unique MAC address whcih begs the question, is that traceable somehow? I have been made aware that the router strips the mac address before it connects it to the internet but does the isp log the laptops MAC address? If i contacted all the major isp in my country would they have the ability to search for the mac address of my latop and then link that with an ip address?
Any help would be great please!

I have this identical problem. For a while my group texts didnt show up on my ipad. Then one day they did, maybe everyone in the group started using the same os version or something. Ever since my first reply to the group there have been complaints of multiple threads. I can not find a pattern for when my group text's decide they want to create a new thread. (it doesnt happen every time) Everyone in the group has deleted the thread, we've all toggled imessage on/off etc. There still hasn't been a solution.

CallManager 7.02 Maximum Number of Registered Devices

We are currently running CallManager version 7.02 with the following configurations:
One Publisher and two Subscribers
CM Groups - 2
Sub1-CMG (used by 9000 devices)
    Sub1
    Sub2
    Pub
Sub2-CMG (used by 4475 devices)
    Sub2
    Sub1
    Pub
Maximum Number of Registered Devices - 10000
1) We just added some more devices that changed to number of devices to:
Sub1-CMG (used by 10050 devices)
Sub2-CMG (used by 4475 devices)
So, some of the new devices did not get registered with CallManager.
2) We changed the Maximum Number of Registered Devices to 12000
When we checked the new devices, there were still some that were not registered.
3) If we move the new devices to Sub2-CMG they register with CallManager.
Any thoughts here?

Since you are on CUCM 7, this means your cluster is running on MCS servers, from memory I think the top level MCS server in CUCM appliance mode supported upto 7500 phones per server. So you may be running into a hardware limit. Although you can configure I guess upto 15000 phones in the CUCM service parameter but still the MCS appliance mode had the 7500 phone/server limit with a max of 30,000 phones per cluster.
So either you have a MCS 7845 I2 or H2 the limit is 7500 per server (I am guessing you have top model of the MCS from number of phones you have otherwise limit will be further lower):

Java Webconsole ELResolvers for JSR not registered with the JSP container

Trying to rebuild a LDAP server running Directory Server 6.1. Just installed Solaris 10 u9 on a SunFire V240. Loaded most recent recommended patch set dated 2011.02.02. Proceeded to load Directory Server V6.0 from native packages using JAVA ES Installer. After Directory Server installation and initialization the Java Webconsole is running but brings up a blank page login page. Note: Did not test the Webconsole prior to Directory Server installation. The errors in the /var/log/webconsole/console/console_debug_log file state:

a whole bunch of libs and jquery4jsf (though really buggy in this manner, because all components could you rewrite for JSF2-components, etc.)
Unfortunately it is somehow a config error, because i haven't got it earlier, since i changed PhaseListener and Authentification with JAAS (sample from Ed Burns:

How do I register multiple devices in order to read pdf books?

My library has many downloadable books in PDF format (e.g.: epublications ). If I download a book to my tablet, I cannot currently also download it to my phone. I understand that I would be able to read PDFs on multiple devices if I were to register them with Adobe. How do I go about doing this?

How to change the "owner" of a MacBookPro?

I had a MacBook, whose screen got broken, hence bought a MacBookPro with Snow Leopard installed. ALL content of the MacBook were transferred to the MacBookPro with the MigrationAssistant (which worked like a charme, kudos!).
Now that the old MacBook's screen is repaired, my wife would like to use it? How do I change the Name of the laptop? I would NOT like to create a new user with her name, because then I'd need to reinstall all programs and settings; just to change the name of the Administrator from mine to her name.
Can she also continue to use the same iTunes account (which is in my name)?

Hmm - I'm not sure. I'm not that familiar with Time Machine, and I can think of a possible permissions issue.
When you change the user account short name according to the method recommended by Apple, you first create a new account and then delete the old one, which means that the changed account will have a different "UID" (User ID) than before. The system is smart enough to fix the ownership of the files in the account's Home folder to the new UID, but I don't know how Time Machine deals with such a change. For instance, suppose a document was originally saved under your old user account which had a UID of 501, and Time Machine duly backed it up at that time. The file now still exists in your wife's Home folder, now with its ownership corrected to your wife's UID, say 502. The file hasn't otherwise been modified in any way. Does Time Machine "know about" such a UID change? Suppose a month from now that the document gets corrupted, and your wife wants to restore it from the week before. Will Time Machine "know" that she is the rightful owner?
I don't know the answer - hopefully one of the Time Machine experts here will comment further. My own instinct would be to put the old Time Machine backup aside, get a new external drive, and start a new Time Machine backup with the new drive, keeping the old backup for safety, at least for a while.

It doesn't matter were to register... i have a voice gateway were we can register and then make some calls to the callmanager just with a dialpeer

indeed that is what i thought too.. but you never know...
the third party sip end point is a medical system that is trying to register and sending the register message... i cannot change anything there... the medical company has to change the sip message in the firmware.. (or somewhere in the advanced option i cannot reach).
They not working with the default sip rfc...
but was trying to change the message... if i can change it would it be the easiest and fastest way to let it work...

CS3 - no update option even after registering

Hi,
I recently installed my CS3 suite and then registered. (I have been buying adobe software for years, so my name and email were already registered). Upon completeing registration, it said an email would be sent with a "free gift" or something (guessing it is a plug-in or something).
Anyway, that email never came and the update tab in not selectable. All programs in the suite are stuck on first release versions. So like in premiere, I can not open any .mxf files until i can update.
Any insight on this or links to other posts (i did search before posting but didn't find anything)

My Free Gift email came several weeks after installing the software. It was the same email as that which came after installing a previous version. If I remember correctly, it offers a typeface (the same one that I downloaded from the first free gift offer) and a voucher for 10% off any Classroom in a Book book from Adobe's store but Amazon offer these books for much less, even after the 10% discount, so it's of no use. Oh, and something else that I can't remember.

Apple I'd registered in different country

I have two apple devices. An iPhone and iPad and they use the same apple I'd.
My husband has travelled to America with the iPhone and I am on India with the iPad. They were both registered on apple App Store in India.
My husband now can't use the App Store in the US because it gives an error saying that it is registered in a different country.
How do I change my apple I'd country to US?
Note: I will be travelling to America in a week as well so my base county for both devices will be US.

The Apple ID you're using is associated with a billing address, and the billing address includes the country.
Live with this problem for a week or two, and then change your billing address to a US billing address.
If you have a credit card on file, that'll have to be changed or updated match the new billing address.

Archiving copy to mailbox "Sent Messages"
I looked in the Console and found several messages of the form:
12/24/09 11:35:43 PM Mail[138] An instance 0x128899ee0 of class IMAPConnection was deallocated while key value observers were still registered with it. Observation info was leaked, and may even become mistakenly attached to some other object. Set a breakpoint on NSKVODeallocateBreak to stop here in the debugger. Here's the current observation info:

Remote C2901 MGCP gateway won't register with CUCM

We have a central call manager, we are setting up a remote office with a C2901 voice gateway that has a T1 PRI, this gateway is being configured as a H.323 gateway, everything worked fine. Now I want to get SRST working such that when WAN goes down, employees can still make outbound calls and take inbound calls. I followed SRST documentations when configuring CUCM and C2901, I would say the documentations are clear and easy to follow -- only thing is there is no adequate explanation of why those commands need to be there and I can not get SRST to work.
1), First, a basic concept question, why do we need to configure "ccm-manager fallback-mgcp"? or any MGCP related configuration on C2901? how does MGCP play the role in SRST? the router is configured as a simple voice gateway, when WAN is intact, we use H.323 protocol, when WAN goes down, we still don't need MGCP ...
2), Assuming that we needed all those SRST related MGCP configuration, I would expect C2901 to register to call manager, but I could not get this device to register as a MGCP gateway, debug mgcp packets shows:

I verified the domain name is exactly the same as the name configured on CUCM, I tried multiple time toggling ip domain name on C2901 also, somehow CUCM does not like RSIP message from C2901, I don't have knowledge to get debug information from CUCM side of why CUCM does not like the MGCP message sent by C2901
3), When the communication is blocked from C2901 to central call manager (by using a simple ACL on C2901's default gateway device), I can still make the inbound call to an IP phone, which means, phones were correctly registered to C2901 when communication to call manager is broken, but I can not make outbound call, phones always get quick busy beeps, test call from C2901 itself (by using "csim start") is fine, which means dial-plan and ISDN/PRI is fine.
I believe we are just doing very very basic configuration and this is a common scenario, what could I do wrong?

You dont need the mgcp related commands if you are using H323. The commands that you need are:
application
global
service alternate default
call-manager-fallback (or) telephony-service and the relevant commands under it.
Also make sure that SRST reference has been added to the DP and the phones reset after the change made. This is what tell the phone to register to the SRST gateway when the WAN is down. The IP specified in the SRST reference should match whats configured under call-manager-fallback.
