WGB association/re-association timing
Hi Guys,
Just want to ask a question: what is the acceptable association or reassociation time for the WGB?
Our environment is on a shipyard, and AP's are mounted on a light mast around 30 meters high, and our WGB clients are mounted on the cranes, these cranes are moving around the area. The cranes are around 15 meters high. We are implementing Cisco LEAP. I have noticed that the association or re-association timing of some of our WGB clients are taking around 50 seconds and some are more than 60 seconds before it was able to re-associate to another AP.
So in this case, is this a normal condition?
Hi Kaye,
This issue is only happening to some but not all WGB Clients. We did some site survey just using the netstumbler on the crane level and was able to see some rogue AP's, however their signal strength is not that strong at around -90 to -100 dbm. Could this rogue AP's caused this issue to happen? What are other external factors that may contribute to this interference?
Thanks!

Sharepoint Online - File Associations - Create association for .sql files in SPO365
I maintain a document library as a script repository with .sql scripts. we refer to these often for operational processes.
unfortunately, we are currently only given the option to download these files from SharePoint Online.
Is it possible to create an association in SharePoint Online to have these files preview as text or to at least open them in SSMS or Notepad.
caveat = we dont want to change the default OS association for these files. SSMS is fine for the desktop, but in SPO365 a text viewer would be ideal as it would most easlily facilitate a copy and paste.
Thanks
G'B
Scott DavisHi,
According to your description, when you removed the Read List and Read Item operations and created them back based off of the view and recreated the external list, you saw all the columns you wanted.
Then you can modify view to choose the columns which you want to display.
The issue is, now the item picker and other operations that did not change seem to be going off of the view.
Do you mean that when you add/edit the item, it still displays the foreign key column in the list view?

I can't get the file association to allow a change from the textedit writer to the OpenOffice.odt format. Is there a way to trick OSX into allowing the change?

RemoteApp 2012 and File Type Associations
Hi, All :),
the scenario is like this - 2 x Server 2012: one as the RD Connection Broker and RD Web Access and one as the RD Session Host (clients are Windows 7). ALMOST everything works: there is one collection, several applications, all successfully thrown into
the RemoteApp and Desktop Collections by GPO (Powershell script - http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/ScriptCenter/313a95b3-a698-4bb0-9ed6-d89a47eacc72/).
But one thing doesn't work - file type associations. Well, I want the client without, for example, Office installed to open the RemoteApp application (Excel) by clicking on the XLSX file. When looking at the application properties -> File Type Associations
-> Current Associations column, I see the name of the collection, which includes Excel ... but it does not work. After updating the RemoteApp and Desktop Connections on the client, the RDP file with Excel noticed a new line:
remoteapplicationfileextensions: s:. csv,. xls,. xlsx,. xltx
How do I make it work? I know that in RemoteApp on Server 2008R2 you could export the MSI file that took care of File Type Associations, but what to do in case of Server 2012?Unfortunately, the feature to install file type associations for RemoteApp programs in your GPO-pushed RemoteApp and Desktop Collection is only supported on Windows 8 clients. Several improvement were made over the old MSI-based file type associations, and
those improvements rely upon changes in the Windows 8 OS.
Ultimately file type associations are controlled with registry keys, all of which are documented on MSDN. RemoteApp programs are pretty much the same as any other local program, except the file type is associated with mstsc.exe with some special parameters.
Although the way we register those file type associations in Windows 8 won't work for you, the way the old MSIs used to register them would. You could in theory register the RemoteApp file type associations yourself in the same way that one of the old MSIs
would have done (you could use some sort of GPO-pushed script on the clients).
The easiest way to do this would be to track down one of those old MSIs, install it, and do a before-and-after view of the registry to see what changes it makes.
Hope that helps,

Hi All,
I'm having a strange issue whereby client association to my corporate or guest wifi ssid are not consistent. Sometimes I have no issues connecting repeatedly and other times I cannot connect and receive the "Windows was unable to connect to *SSID*"
I'm unable to determine whether it is a wireless association issue or if its a authentication issue as I have troubles connecting to both my secure (WPA2, AES, 802.1x) corporate wifi or my guest (Open Auth) wifi.
Currently per day I have about 15 users using the wifi on both SSID's. The access points are right in the vicinity of the users. I have 2 LAP1142 access points on separate 802.11a/b/g/n channels and signal strenght is always high.. I'm certain its not co-channel interference or interference whatsoever. RSSI values are -60dBm and SNR 30+ dB. On average I will have 10 users on the wireless fine but one or two people are unable to connect.
I have had wireshark run and when it does not connect I do not see anything in the logs. No traffic is captured!
I cannot see the AAA capturing anything. Signal strength as stated above is high ( I have the AP on my desk!)
Sometimes I can instantly connect with no troubles and other times its not association at all. I've recently updated to version 7.5 and these issues started to occur. Previous version 7.3 had no problems at all for years!.
The logs in the WLC show
*Dot1x_NW_MsgTask_0: Nov 27 04:42:09.956: #DOT1X-3-INVALID_WPA_KEY_MSG_STATE: 1x_eapkey.c:864 Received invalid EAPOL-key M2 msg in START state - invalid secure bit; KeyLen 24, Key type 1, client 3c:a9:f4:4x:xx:xx
Does anyone have an idea what could this issue could be?
Many thanksThanks for your reply Sandeep. Been working on it all afternoon with debugging.
To answer your question, sometimes I can connect and sometimes I cannot. This afternoon I haven't been able to connect much at all. 2 out of 20 times perhaps. Other users I can see are connected to the two access points in this office. This isn't just happening on my laptop but several laptops. Same symptom.
Heres the dot1x output I have captured from the debug of a FAILED association attempt.

I can see that the WLC has tried to send a EAP-Request/Identity request to the client but no response back. I just don't understand why it works at times and why it doesn't.
It has the same issues on my guest network which is open authentication. Nothing has changed in regards to configuration and it has been working for years. Only thing that changed was a version upgrade to 7.5 three weeks ago.
Here is the debug output of the client MAC when attempting to association to the GUEST network.

QuickTime 7.5 file association control pre / post intallation
Hey all ...
I've searched 'file association' and 'association(s)' here in this forum.
As I suspected (based on my own experiences with much earlier versions of QuickTime on Windows platforms), users of QT are still continuing to complain about their inability to control file type associations imposed by QuickTime, as recently as version 7.4.x .
Question: Will I be offerred a choice as to which file types to associate with Apple QuickTime 7.5 during install? If so, will my settings be retained by QT under all circumstances?
Thanks, k_mI'm using QuickTime v. 7.6.0.
I have 15-minute video in h.264 with AAC audio that I cut and paste into two sections: I save the first half of the video and upload it to YouTube. The video on this first section works great, clear up to the 10-minute limit.
The second half that I cut and pasted into a new player gets saved and plays fine on my computer. When I upload this five-minute segment to YouTube, the audio starts right off playing about a second or two out of sync.
I have adjusted my audio rate to 44.100 and 64 bit or 128 and have tried cutting and pasting-to-fit the audio with no luck. Is this the kind of thing that you're experiencing? -
I have a composition association defined between some Entities with a "shared" primary key (ie, the key is generated for the top level entity and then the same value is used for the primary key of the subtables). If I define a separate View Object for each Entity and View Links between them, I can put them into an AppModule and testing them using the inbuilt tester they behave as I wish, particularly with inserts automatically propagating the primary key to the subtables. But if try to define a single View Object for the entire composition, then the inbuilt tester does not allow me to set values for the sub-entities when inserting a new record, nor does it seem to pre-populate the primary key as it does when using the View Link structure. It also does not handle updates properly, it throws an exception (see below). I have set the "updatable" checkbox in the View Object setup.
Is this a bug in the inbuilt tester, or am I simply not able to define composition View Objects in this way and must use the View Objects connected by View Links structure that I originally set up?
Exception thrown by tester attempting to update composition View Object -

...Hello again,
I think i should better make my problem more simple so maybe i can have some help.
There are 3 entity objects, User, Customer, ContactInformation.
Users and contact information have 1-1 relationship (via User's Id attribute and ContactInformation's parentId attribute)
Customer and Contact information have 1-* relationship (via Customer's Id attribute and ContactInformation's parentId attribute)
None of these are composition association.
There's no problem about Customers and Contact Information. I made a view link between these and i can persist and retrieve data without problem.
I want to be able to enter user's contact information in same view which is something like: (Query is generated by adding entity objects to view definition, and "reference" checkbox is unchecked for URL)
SELECT User.Id, User.FirstName, User.LastName, ContactInformation.Email, ContactInformation.PhoneNumber
FROM USERS User, CONTACT_INFORMATIONS ContactInformation
WHERE User.Id = ContactInformation.ParentId
When i use like this, ContactInformation's parentId is not set.
If i check "composition association" in association definition, parentId is persisted but this time, i cannot use ContactInformation entity for any other entity. -
When an how to create an association?
Recently,I have been confused about association, can someone tell me when an how to create an association?
Hi Zhang,
I hope you want to know about cross Bo association.
When to create association?
You use association whenever you want to use other BO's(target) data in your current BO(source). In other word you can maintain relationship between two BOs using association. Association will provide reference of target BO in your source BO.
You need not to maintain all the structure of target BO in your BO, using association you can access any field of target BO on the fly.
How to create?
For example in your custom BO you want to use data employee BO
1. import the namespace of employee business object
import AP.FO.BusinessPartner.Global'
2. define association
association ToEmployee to Employee //here ToEmployee is association name.
You have to set this association before to use the employee data in your ABSL.
Hope this help
Thanks

Multiple associations for one entity.
I'm building a view from two entities which both have an association with a third entity.
When I want to include this third entity then I see no way to distinguish the associations (in "Association end") and have to examine the XML to see which one I've selected.
Could this combo-box not provide more information (eg association name rather than just the entity at the association end)?
Tony Clulow.if you stay with the cursor on the association end, the association name is displayed after about 1 or 2 seconds.

Controller based AirGroup Policies & Auto-association
Requirement:
Controller based AirGroup Policies
By default all AirGroup servers are visible to every AirGroup user.
This features enables configuring policies on controller for AirGroup servers to limit the visibility of AirGroup servers to destined AirGroup users. Admin is allowed to configure shared user-list, shared role-list and shared group-list for each AirGroup server to limit this server’s visibility to intended AirGroup users.
The group-list is the same as the group defined in Active directory.
These configurations were done in CPPM prior to v6.4.3, now it is extended to the controller.
Auto-association
Auto-association feature helps with visibility of an AirGroup server If it needs to be seen by a broader area. This feature enables attaching an AirGroup server to an AP-name, AP-group or AP-FQLN and any AirGroup users associated to that AP-name etc. will be automatically see those AirGroup Server.
Auto-association feature can be applied at AirGroup Service level as well – AirPlay etc. All AirGroup Servers advertising that service will be seen by AG users associated to that AP-name/AP-group/AP-FQLN.
Use case – In a multi-floor building, if you want users in Floor-10 to have access to a printer in Floor-10. You can define location based policy and attach the printer to an AP-group for floor-10 and users belonging to that AP-group will be able to access that printer.
Solution:
Controller based AirGroup Policies
Policies can be configured on the controller to limit the visibility of AirGroup servers to destined AirGroup users
Policies can be configured based on shared user-list, shared role-list and shared group-list
Location based policies for AirGroup devices can be configured based on ap-name, ap-group and ap-fqln
This was done in CPPM prior to v6.4.3
Auto-association
Enables AG users to discover AG servers based on
AP or its neighbours
AP-Group
AP-FQLN
Auto-associate can be enabled at Airgroup Server
Airgroup Service level (Airplay etc)
Configuration:
This configuration defines a policy for AG server based on its MAC address and share this server among list of users, role, group and location.

#logging level debugging system process mdns
Command to see policy entries
Command to see service level Auto-assciate
Command to see records of each of the airgroup servers and the buckets (AP name/FQLN) in which they fall into
This command shows the AirGroup devices fall into different buckets based on the controller based policies.
In this example, the AirGroup device (10.70.21.32) is configured under AP bucket.
This bucketing mechanism also helps with the scalability. With AOS v6.4.3, the scalability in terms of number of AirGroup users and servers has been increased to the platform limit of the controller. For example, for 7240 controller, number of AirGroup users and servers is 32K (max #of clients to be supported by 7240 controller). Fetching an entry for AirGroup device from the cache entries (with this increased scalability) was a challenge. This bucketing mechanism helps finding clien entries belonging to a specific bucket and fetching from the entries in that bucket.
Few additional commands to find log files and tech-support.
#Show airgroup servers verbose
#Show log user all
#Show log system all
#Show tech-support <file-name>> The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\bank

Cisco 1142 WGB in a controller based network
Hi,
I have trouble with Cisco AP1142 which is configured in WGB mode. I'm trying to get it work in a controller based network, where LAPs are configured in H-REAP. SSID where WGB should be associated drops it traffic to VLAN60. Security type is WPA2-PSK.
I've configured the WGB and it associates and gets IP from the correct network....but the problem is that laptop connected to WGB won't work. It gets no IP address and won't work with static IP.
At the moment I have no VLANs configured on the WGB - should I have?
AP IOS version is 12.4(25d)JA and WLC version is 7.0.98.0.
Please find config file attached and also a topology image. Hope these help.
Br,
PetriHi Petri,
WGB mode with HREAP is not supported:
http://tools.cisco.com/squish/dcAfC
http://tools.cisco.com/squish/CcFE6
You may want to test this with uWGB mode and static IP config. However, there is a new bug filed for uWGB mode as well:
CSCtl21683 uWGB needs official testing and support with h-reap

ACS 1121 error 5411 EAP session timed out w/Peap Wireless logins
I am having issues that came up in the last month where all of my wireless client devices (using 4400 WLC and AC 1121 Appliance w/Active Directory integration) using PEAP MSCHAP2 are being prompted multiple times one after another for their userid/password.
This is very intermitant with clients sometimes being able to authenticate on the first try and later in the day getting prompted 20 times for authentication before it works. This affects all brands of laptops/tablets/smartphones and other devices.
My ACS log files show an error of 5411 EAP session timed out.
I have had a TAC case open for over a month but they still haven't found a solution.
Has anyone run into this and have any thoughts? I have already increased my timeout on the controller from the default 2 seconds to 8 seconds but the delay between prompts asking for authentication credentials on clients is less than a second.
What do you think?
JimWe are running 5.2.0.26.11 on the ACS engine and 7.0.240.0 on the WLC's. The certificate on the ACS was expired, but for over a year without issues prior to about a month ago (our clients do have the verify certificate box unchecked). I did renew the certificate on the ACS (self signed, just told it to renew) but that didn't help.
The only thing the clients get are multiple prompts for authentication usually a second or 2 apart even though my timeout on the WLC is set to 8 seconds. A debug on the WLC shows the following. Any ideas on what could be the issue?

Wgb - how many clients on ethernet Lan
I am considering configuring a 1242ag as either a WGB / non-root bridge, I have read that a WGB can have only 8 clients on its ethernet lan side, and does not associate with wireless clients other then the root-bridge/AP. Can someone confirm this for me?
thought to just post the answer, as I have already found it, for anyone else who might want to know.
Q. How many devices can the Workgroup Bridge support?
A. The Workgroup Bridge supports up to eight MAC addresses on the wired Ethernet segment. But, when a 1200 series access point works as a Workgroup Bridge, it can handle up to 254 clients on the Ethernet side, while it presumes that no other wireless clients are associated to the root bridge/AP to which this AP in WGB mode is associated.
But, keep in mind that when the AP acts in a WGB mode, the AP takes on the association at the client level, which means it is not a true bridge. So it is always advisable to limit the users to a small or reasonable number.

I originally posted this question to the community section and was advised to post it here. Please bear with me as this will be a long post. I'm including the scenarios involving this reoccurring issue, the trouble shooting steps I've already
taken and the results of several diagnostic tools and logs.
I have a Sony VAIOS VPCEBB33FM lap top since 2011. I have had this issue on an off for a long time. I'm at my wit's end. Any new insights or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Scenario Details
1) Some times it's on and off through out the day, sometimes it won't work all day, and once in a while it will work fine for the entire day.
2) I've had this issue across several wireless services, Clear Network accessed with WiMax, Library Wi-fi, Comcast cable internet using wireless router and Wi-fi, and Comcast Xfinity Wi-Fi, to name a few examples.
3) Other devices in the household or library will work with no problems such as my smart phone or my roommates' laptops or desktop computers.
4) Once in a while, the built-in wireless adapter is not found and I have to reinstall the driver. Also the diagnostic tool has had to reset my adapter on an increasing basis.
5) I had my hard drive replaced in December 2014 and my system restored from the System Restore disks that came with it when I bought the laptop. Even though I've been online on an infrequent basis it worked just fine for a while. Now that
I've been online a bit more I'm having the same issues again.
Below are my attempts at trouble shooting so far but I still have not been able to consistently resolve my DNS issues
1) Restarting my adapter
2) Turning off my laptop and removing the power supply for 5-10 minutes before turning it back on.
3) Using the IP Config in Command Prompt
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /registerdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
4) Using the NetSh reset in Command Prompt and restarting my laptop
netsh int ip reset c:\resetlog.txt
netsh winsock reset
ipconfig /flushdns
[restart laptop]
5) Configuring the TCP/IP in several settings
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties.
I have used the following settings:
a) Obtain an DNS server address automatically
b) OpenDNS
208 67 222 222
208 67 220 220
c) Google DNS
8 8 8 8
8 8 4 4
6) Updating the driver for my Intel Centrino(R) Advanced-N 6250 AGN and Intel Centrino(R) WIMAX 6250 from the Intel website previous having my laptop wiped clean in 2014. It still did not resolve the issue. My laptop
manufacturer as not come up with an driver update for my adapter since 2010. I haven't tried to update the adapter driver from Intel's website since having my laptop repaired due to the fact that Intel strongly recommending using the manufacturer's updates
instead and frankly it didn't make much of a difference when I did it the first time.
7) The last one I've tried as of today is going into Services and changing the start up type to automatic for the following:
Computer Browser [changed from manual to automatic]
DHCP Client [already set to automatic]
DNS Client [already set to automatic]
Network Connections [already set to automatic]
Network Location Awareness [changed from manual to automatic]
Remote Procedure Call (RPC) [already set to automatic]
Server [already set to automatic]
TCP/IP Netbios helper [already set to automatic]
Workstation [already set to automatic]
...and I'm still having DNS issues.
My only guessing are that my laptop came with a lemon adapter that needs to be replaced, some advanced setting(s) that I'm not aware off, or my firewall/anti-virus is interfering. I've used Symmantic Anti-virus and Firewall in the past and currently
Avast Anti-Virus with Microsoft Network Firewall. I've had DNS issues with both anti-virus/firewall set ups.
Below are the results from the diagnostics and tests that I've ran.
