WHAT? 24 HR BATTERY LIFE FOR THE TOUCH, YEA RI

i've had it plugged into teh cpu for about 5 hrs (more liek 3.5 but we'll say 5) and its already down to one tick of battery left. And i fully charged it (left it charging all last night).
another thing, it came with teh adapter thing for recharging. is that teh only way? is it not rechargeable through USB?

yea right...
My wife has gotton *more* than 24 hours of playtime out of her touch! The audacity of creative not coming clean with users!
two things:
Charging the ZT's battery via usb is like filling a lake with a drinking glass
--and--
if your touch is new, bleed it dry a couple times(to the point where it wont tun on) and then charge it fully using the ac adapter.
One thing about usb charging is it's not as good as it should be. For example, my micro was never fully charged until the other day. Turns out the micro will stop "pulsing" once its charged. I have had my micro connected for 4 solid hours to a usb port, but no dice. The other day I cabled it to a powered USB hub and let it go, now my micro's got stamina!. If you *insist* on charging your touch via USB, at least charge it off a usb hub not connected to your pc.

• Is this a normal battery life for the iphone 4s

i took my phone off the charger at 100% around 4:30pm. i messed around with it some.. id say around 7 or 8 o clock i was at 88% then. me and my friend facetimed for about an hour, after that i was about 9 o clock and i was down to 65 percent. at about ten o clock it was at 58. from ten o clock to about 1:20am i was texting my friend non-stop. by the time i fell asleep my phone was at around 15%. when i woke up this morning it was at 12%.
i have the brightness down pretty low, i have all notifications turned off and all that. im basically just using as regular phone. is this normal for an iphone? ive never had a smartphone before.

If you are on iOS 5 Or 5.0.1 there is a common problem in the battery life wait for 5.0.2 or whatever its gonna be called that will fix this issue/bug before upgrading to 5.0.1 it says fixes bugs affecting battery life but it doesn't actually make a difference

• Critical Battery-Life for the Magic Mouse

Hello, i use the magic mouse approx. one week and the the batterystatus is 80 %. Is this normal ?

My wife has been using hers for 3 weeks and it shows 52% left in the batteries that came with it. They are Energizers. She uses her computer a lot. Probably 6 solid hours a day.

• Battery life on iPod touch 4G with Airplay streaming to Airport Express?

Any word on the battery life of the newest iPod touch 4G when using Airplay to stream music to an Airport express/ hi-fi speaker set up?
I think i have the above configuration correct? I already have an Airport express linked to a MBP/ iTunes, but it'd be easier to use an iPod Touch/Airplay to stream my iTunes lib in the same way.
But maybe not such a good idea if battery life on the touch will be zapped!!!

I haven't done exhaustive tests, but I've been streaming to an Airport Express and it seems like I ought to get 10 hours or so. I think the most I've done at once is 3 or 4 hours and the battery doesn't seem to drain more than a third to a half. For what it's worth, I've been streaming for an hour so far tonight and the battery icon hasn't moved off full.
Far more important I've found is to make sure the screen is locked. Tha backlight on the screen really chews thru the battery.

• What can I do to save my battery life with the new ios 7.3 update

I Loved the ios 7.3 update. My battery lasted for the whole day and I use my phone a lot. I did the ios 7.3 update yesterday and my battery life is horrible. With 2 hours into my day today I was down to 80% battery and I hardly used my phone at all. I love my iphone, but this update was a horrible mistake for Apple!

Thank God that I am not the only one who lost battery life in 7.0.3.
I haven't changed settings from 7.0.0 to now. So I am not going to change settings. With that said my brightness is always at about half or lower, depending on the ambient light. Bluetooth is always off. LTE has always been on since I bought the 5 last year. Wifi stays on, connected or not. So with all these settings as they are, there has been a huge difference in battery life from 7.0.2 to 7.0.3.
I could swear that I went from 100% to 83% charge while I slept for 7 hours. ***??? Really?
I'll test it out again tonight.
I am at work and I turned off LTE for s&g. And still saw 5% drop in 40 minutes with a 2 or 3 minute use.

Note that % battery on an iPod is not accurate. you will see large fluctuation in % battery and that is normal/expected.

• I just bought my first iphone.  I am so disappointed in the battery life on the iphone5.  Have the phones always been this way?  Is there anything in the works to improve the battery life?

I just bought my first iphone.  I am so disappointed in the battery life of the iphone 5.  Is this the norm for iphones?  Are they working on a fix to this problem?  Almost wishing I had bought something else.

Without knowing what battery life you are seeing we can't determine if you have a problem. Have you compared your usage to the Technical Specifications?
Talk time: Up to 8 hours on 3G
Standby time: Up to 225 hours
Internet use: Up to 8 hours on 3G, up to 8 hours on LTE, up to 10 hours on Wi-Fi
Video playback: Up to 10 hours
Audio playback: Up to 40 hours
Under normal use, unless there's a problem with your phone, battery life is comparable to any other smart phone and better than some. If you've never owned a smart phone before you will be disappointed with the battery life on all smart phones. You should expect to charge any of them daily. It's a mistake to think of it as a phone at all; it's a very powerful pocket-sized computer that can also make phone calls.

• Battery life. The elephant in the room or is it just me?

So the trade-off against integrating the antenna into the case (at such cost) was to make room for a bigger battery, so we could enjoy longer battery life between charges on our shiny new iPhone 4s. Really? My 3G was nearly two years old when I traded up to the iP4, yet its battery discharged at a far slower rate than the 4's battery from out of the box. Is mine just fitted with a battery that came off the production line on Friday afternoon, or am I expecting too much from the new model given its enhanced capability (as compared to the 3G and bearing in mind I skipped the 3GS), which must be expected to consume more power? Whatever, I am disappointed by the battery life of the iPhone 4, yet surprised to read no mention of any battery issues in these posts, especially as battery life was supposed to be one of its selling points. The reviews also seem to confirm an improvement in battery life that just doesn't square with my own experience. Anybody got a view?

I'm surprised my battery is doing well although I have replaced my iphone for the 2nd time. But here is the result from the first replacement:

comparing to what others have posted, similar stats but seems like mine only goes for 5 hours at tops or a bit over. So i took it to the genius bar, and this is why they replaced my iphone for the 2nd time.
Here is what I do with my iphone 4,
Basically I unplug it at exactly at 7 am, through out the day, I only check my phone every hour. Do some textings, check 2-3 apps every hour. of course i get phone calls in the morning and at night so during the day it's not a problem. From the time my phone is in sleep mode, and the time I wake it up, sometimes it stays, but sometimes I lose 1%, but then the moment I text or check few apps, I lose 2% more, which is fine i guess as the apps does eats small amount.
As seen on my stats, I can only get 5 hours of usage somehow. Even though the standby stats says 1 day 14 hours.
As for my 2nd replacement, even if it has similar stats (still on first charge so I have to drain it to calibrate the accuracty). I'll probably just keep this one, as long as the phone last the entire day is fine with me.

• How to save battery life on iPod touch 5g?

Give me tips on how to save battery life on iPod touch 5g.It dies out very quickly.

Turn down the screen brightness
Look into notifications. it defaults to everything being on and you can turn off most if not all of them.
Check your e-mail. If it's on push that means it's reaching out for new mails every so often, turning it to fetch means that it only goes to get mail when you tell it to.
Look at some of your apps. Some of them may be doing things in the background that you don't realize and you can tweak those to not run when you don't need them to run.

• Battery life for iPhone4 after ios5 update

I updated my iPhone 4 to ios5 this week and the change in battery life is shocking. I've used my phone for an hour and 13 minutes straight since taking it off charge and it's burnt through 32% of my battery.
This week I've been reading all the tips to improve my battery but nothing has helped so far. I'm fed up, my phone is only 10 months old and the ios5 update is obviously a poor quality release (I'm a software project manager).
What can I do?  Are Apple looking into this issue? Has the cause been identified or is there a massive software vs hardware conflict with this release.
While typing this I e lost another 3% in 7 minutes.
Any hope appreciated.
Thanks

I totallly agree. Am iPhone 4 user and have been since its launch. Have had all previous versions and every iOS so pretty familiar with what constitues normal battery life on these things. I have a daily routine that sees an almost identical amount of email use, some wifi, some 3g, some location services every day. Since updrading to iOS5 last week I haven't been able to get through the day without flattening the battery. Have resorted to turning off everything I can think of - location services, bluetooth, wifi etc. Under my old regime these were always on. The phone is still not getting through the day. Based on hours usage I would estimate that the battery life has dropped by about 30%. Thats being generous. Looking at whats going on I suspect this is a sloppy release of iOS5 and I'll bet there'll be a quick update. One thing I would be interested to know is if you are syncing to Exchange because I have a sneaking suspicion this is wasting loads of cycles as I seem to now be seeing loads of minor changes to my calendar notifications that didn't used to hapen under the old iOS. Trouble is, if I turn that off I might as well go back to a pager!
All ideas gratefully received.

• What UPS does HP recomend for the Envy 27 recline

I have just purchase a envy recline 27, great machine but the touch screen does not work as it should when runing on my UPS's either.
The touch screen makes many touch mistakes and the touch keyboard does not work as well as it does when runing on mains power.
So I am guessing the UPS I have is are not up to the task, I have read else where power inverters or UPS can cuase capacitance touch screen to play up.
So what type of UPS does HP recomend to use with their Envy27 recline so it will continue to works as if it was still on mains power.
thanks for advise.

Thanks Big-Dave,
Thanks for you advice, I am just wondering if this problem is in particular to Envy Recline needing very clean power from the UPS/Inverter power supply for the touch screen.
I have read this happens to all types of touch screens on smart phones , Ipad etc where their screens all play up when being charged or used with inverter power supply's,
So I don't think it's the Envy touch screen needing warranty work, as it works so well on mains power and is only slightly playing up on my old computer UPS wich I've had for many years as I replaced the 12v battery in it a few times now.
My motor home has a true sine wave power invertor which is just new and very expensive one, it really sents the touch screen cracy where you can't use it, but the Envy works perfectly OK using the mouse and keyboard on this inverted power.
Big Dave, I am wondering if I need to have a particular brands of inverters and UPS that has extra clean power to work with this computer's touch screen.
I can't afford to keep buying inverter and UPS in a trali and error situation hoping I'll find the right one that will work O.K with the Envy27 Recline touch screen.
Surely HP would have done some R&D on this problem and know what brands work etc, is this the right place to ask the HP tech Department?
Thanks Dave your help, it's not really a software problem is it.
Cheers

• How long is normal battery life for late 2011 macbook air?

How long is normal battery life for late 2011 macbook air?

I would also note that the 11" and 13" have different lives.  While the 11" has a smaller screen to drive (and thus, in theory, less power) it also has less space for a battery.  So it turns out the 13" has a longer battery life, all other things being equal (same usage and the like).
Clearly what's "average" will vary by user.  Depending on what I'm doing, I can get Apple's rated life (or darned close) or I could end up well short of that life.  The "rated" life is 5 hours for the 11" and 7 hours for the 13" but that is, at best, a very rough approximation.  As the picture in captfred's response makes clear, the actual usage of the machine has a huge influence.
