What 3g model would you buy?

I will be one of the many standing in line Mar 11 for the new ipad2 (2 of them actually) my question is to go with att or verizon 3g model? I live in the seattle area and we have good att 3g coverage here... but I do enjoy going camping in and around the Mountains, lakes, rivers, ocean, sound. and would enjoy doing some facebooking while in the great outdoors.. (pathetic I know ) is Verizon's data coverage better? worse? slower than att? I know they have more coverage but am worried about speed. in those everyday places i guess... what would you buy?

I'd assume Verizon's iPad 3g coverage will be much like their iphone coverage (no talking while web surfing). I'd have to wonder what this will do with multitasking on the verizon version of the iPad 2. No specific examples to give........just a bit to consider.

  • What would you buy if you would you have to return...

2 days ago my N97 stopped working, I had to turned off for some reason, and  when I turned it on the screen was frozen. (Nokia logo)
I was so afraid of sending my phone out for repair, with the possibility of getting a new N97 and lose all my apps from the OVI store + all the information that I have on my phone.    lucky me, after attemping 10 more times, my phone worked.
It came through my mind the possibility of getting a new phone, but wich one?, Iphone, HTC, Omnia, Android phone? Lets face it,  there is no phone in the market with all the capabilities than the N97 has. No phone gets even closer:
    - Memory capacity
    - FM transmiter
    - Widgets
    - FM Radio
    - Great resolution when you watch movies
    - 5MP camera
    - REAL MULTITASK phone ( over 8 apps open and no issues at all )
    - etc
This morning I updated my phone to the new firmware (2.0XXX), IMHO I would say the firmware is not a mayor improvement, still some bugs to be fixed but, it runs a bit faster. C memory still the same and some other stuff that we all know the phone still has. So, What would you buy, if you have to return your N97?
For me, maybe I will switch to Android OS when my N97 gets obsolete.

Anything new with WINmo 6.5 or some of the new Android phones coming out:
    - Memory capacity - N97 has NO MEMORY, the MINI has double the RAM.  Think about that!
    - FM transmiter - Works at a range of 2 feet - a cable would be better anyway into the car stereo
    - Widgets - are you kidding me?????
    - FM Radio - yeah sure that is good, but whatever
    - Great resolution when you watch movies - no h264 on the n97 mate, sure most other phones do this fine, my HP Ipaq from 2001 plays more movies than the n97 (it has skype as well!!)
    - 5MP camera - yeah until it is scratched
-REAL MULTITASK phone - WINmo can do it, Android can do it, even the pre can do it....
I feel hooped for getting the N97, everything is there, but nothing works as it should.  Thankfully since this AM i dont have any out of memory errors, but I am sure they will return just when I don't need them to.
At this point anything is better - to be honest, I've had my eyes on the n900 - but unless Nokia fixes my n97, i wont throw them another dime so long as I live, nor will I allow the 30 people i have sent Nokias way to get another one.
    Fix.  My.  Phone.
I love my purple screen, 1/2 day battery, sketchy touch screen and $800 price tag - I call it my Lumia 900

  • Would you buy a 64gb iPad 3rd Gen or an iPad Mini 16 gb if you could purchase either for $320?  Thank you

Would you buy a 64gb iPad 3rd Gen or an iPad Mini 16 gb if you could purchase either for $320?  Thank you

I know your question has been answered by Demo and agree. And I agree that I would stay away from the ipad 3 that was discontinued after only months on the market.
That said, I'm not sure where you were getting an ipad 3 for that cost - a friend, a store, an official reseller? I would be very careful of that.
If you decide to buy a used ipad or even a new 16 gb mini, I strongly suggest you only buy it through Apple's online only certified refurbished store. They come and go as they are refurbished by Apple, so if you see what you want, buy it. An ipad mini 32 gb is now $339 in the refurb store. That's only $20.00 more than you're willing to pay.
Personally, I'd go for the regular sized ipad with more space, but I would pay more if necessary and only buy it at the Apple online refurb store. If you buy an outside ipad, you usually only get the rest of the warranty if any time is still on it. Some resellers do not give any warranty. You might not know if it's been dropped and is working now but might quit soon, etc. You could end up with a demo version from a store, the battery could be on its way out, etc. There have been such stories on here.
Each refurbished ipad and mini comes with a brand new front and back cover, a brand new battery, and a full one year warranty , including 90 days of phone support. It will come in the white box with the charger just as a new one does, with free and fast shipping.
We have had two 64 gb refurbed ipad 2's from the Apple store for almost a year and a half. They have been great!
(As others have and almost always suggest, get as much space as you can because you cannot increase that. Many end up wanting to do more than they planned as they learn about new apps and all they can do with their ipad. Also, updating apps also will take up more space.)
And you don't get 16gb or 32 gb, etc. Some space is used to run the ios and apps that come with the ipad that are not removable.
Oh. I needed to add that through the refurb store, you'll get it with ios 6 still installed.
    Hope this helps.

  • Would you buy the iPhone 5 again?

I've been an Android guy since the Motorola Droid 1 days and most recently have used the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.  In short, I've been happy with this phone other than the fact it doesn't do its most important feature well such as HOLDING A SIGNAL.  Seriously, it is a freaking joke.  It was a problem when I bought this phone and I kept thinking that VZW would roll out an update to fix it.  Nope.  A dozen tech calls might fix it. Nope.  Even VZW seems to have given up on the phone.  Now when I call to complain, they just remind me I have an upgrade coming.  Most people fault VZW, I fault Google for allowing their flagship Nexus device to launch with such poor construction.
So onto my question.  My wife has the iPhone 4S, which for the most part has been great.  At a minimum it holds a steady 3G signal where I can't get anything.  At this time, I still want 4G and I like the bigger size of the iPhone 5, not to mention the global capabilities.
Would you buy the IPhone 5 again? A quick Google search shows there was some reception issues with it as well on VZW, but many of those were older. Has it been resolved?  I can't drop a ton of money and deal with this stupidity again.  Otherwise I might hold on for the Moto X.  I'm through with Samsung, forever.

WOW, I just had my Verizon insurout ance replacement iphone 4s stolen in Cambridge, MA and located it with the App Find my Phone, and need a phone desperately as it is my work phone.  The replacement 4S stopped holding a charge for more than an hour and many other problems, like when you go to Contacts, and try to choose a person to call or text, the names start automatically scrolling and it was like diving in a pool of water that was 12' wide from a skyscraper....it took like 15 attempts to finally get your finger on the right contact and was absolutely frustrating.  So I was headed out to suck up the retail price for a new iphone 5 because my contract isn't up yet w/ Verizon and I also won't be using them again.
So, I have 2 questions as I am at my wit's end and taking vacation day to deal with this crap today as I fly 60 % of the time.  An as an FYI, Boston and Cambridge campus is a hot spot for stolen Smartphones, so you might wanna tape that baby to your chest and use the speaker phone:-)
    1.  Is the iphone 5 a piece of crap too and does anyone have Samsung Galaxy or any other models they don't have issues with?
    2.  I am NOT tech savvy and was going to try to buy a used one on Craigslist or Ebay but all the recommendations are that you ask all these questions and go pick it up in person???  I am a female and that is not going to happen.....HELPPP  Any other options before I jump off that skyscraper into that pool???
Sorry for long post, but dealing with this mess is soooo frustrating and I feel like I am hanging by a noose by Verizon.

  • I Mini with an i7 processor. I would like to use Boot Camp to install windows based CAD software on my MAC. Would it be better to use a plugin external hard drive to load my software on and if so what hard drive would you recommend?

Thank you for your quick response. I can then use a ZIP drive for data storage. I want to keep as much of my hard drive free of data as possible.

  • What sequence setting would you use to edit 1280 x1080 DVCProHD (P2) and 1920 x 1080 AVCHD (Sony) in FCP. Experiencing Quality and rendering issues.

What sequence setting would you use to edit both 1280 x1080 DVCProHD (P2) and 1920 x 1080 AVCHD (Sony) in a single timeline in FCP. I'm experiencing quality and rendering issues.  I've tried numerous settings but can't seem to figure this one out.  Thanks for your assistance.

Although you can combine the avchd 1920x1080 material with prores 1920x1080 in the same timeline, you might land up saving time just converting everything to 1920x1080 prores 422.   You'd probably reduce the amount of rendering while you're working and exporting when you're done by a great deal.  This workflow will require much more drive space.

  • Would you buy TC again?

With the recent bump to 1TB and the need for a new wireless router I'm considering a TC but boy, the experiences seem to be all over the place. I know this is a forum for people trying to iron out problems but if you currently own a TC, would you buy one again? Would you recommend to other mac users?
I may not go the wireless Time Machine route given some of the problems I've heard and my experience with Time Machine on my work iMac. May use SuperDuper instead or equivalent.

Without a doubt I'd buy one again. I have one and my mother bought one. Not a problem between us (over a year +). As you correctly said this is a place where people come to help solve problems so you will see a higher rate of no responses.
I have a dual band Time Capsule and the network is much stronger than my old Linsys router. No backup problems but I did the first one via Ethernet.
When I bought a new iMac I was able to use the Time Machine backup to transfer all my files and preference from my old mac mini. Took about 40 minutes. How can you beat that?

  • Would you buy a MacBook Air today?

So all these darn rumors about early 2012 or a macbook air refresh, would you buy today or wait? I was going to buy one this week, but now i'm hearing early 2012 new air's...that could mean january, or that could mean april. Just need some friendly advice!

    Ok, just an update
Ordered on Dec. 6th, air arrived dec. 7th! I was not home but UPS left it on my doorstep. Kind of concerning since anyone could have just snatched it. Anyways, got home, set it up, screen is amazing! Speed is quick, cant be happier. Glad I went with the 13", perfect size for travel, not too big, not too small. Thanks for all the posts in helping me make my decision.

  • What would you buy a zen sleek or a zen m

HIWhat would you get if money was not an option, i got a sleek, never had a micro , so what shall i do get the sleek or micro

why are you asking which player to get if you already own one? First off, the Micro has only 6GB of space, it depends how much space you want. Assuming you have a lot of music since you did buy a 20GB player, why get a mini player?

  • If what would you buy

if you had the choice which would you prefer a Mac or IBM to use with Elements and if so what type

I would buy a computer with the operating system I preferred. I happen to like OS X; many people here use Windows. PSE is fine on either one.
While the mac version doesn't have organizer, you'd have iphoto, which serves pretty much the same purpose, so that's also a wash.
Seriously, if you like windows, get a windows computer; if you like macs, get a mac. It's all good.

  • Survey - For all 875p and 865pe : Would you buy MSI MotherBoards Again???

I dont know if this should be done here in MSI's forum but im really pissed off with these boards and until they fix those MANY BUGS i can only speak badly about them.
All i know is that i have another P4 with the Gigabyte's 8INXP Motherboard (7205 chipset) and it's stable as hell...running for almost a year now, it's much older and yet AGP 8x WORK'S WELL!!
I spent alot of money on this new system and i'm already feeling sorry for it...i was going for an ASUS P4C800 deluxe and that's what i should have done...more money but much more reliable.Should have read the forum before buying my 875p-Neo.
     Well give your opinion...
My opinion is...i had never experienced computer chaos until now!!!
So with this image of MSI  i will not buy another Motherboard from them.
    Leba

Well I have to tell everybody that I Personaly happen to think that MSI Makes The Most Stable Motherboards that I have Ever Used ....I have owned a total of 9 Different MSI Boards over the Years, and I still have 2 Boards in operation in my home right now.....If you see by my signature that My 2'ND System I have running now is the Brand New ABIT IC7-MAX 3, And the Only reason that I purchased the ABIT is because I wanted a System that was going to be a "Shoe In" for the Pentium Prescott as far as the ability to be able to provide enough stable V-Core Voltage, as the ABIT IC7-Max 3 has From the Begining of it's inception was ment to be a Prescott Board (as the IC7-G is really thier i875 Canterwood Board), ABIT says that the New IC7-MAX 3 was built for the Prescott with the Options to provide more Voltage going to the CPU, As it has 4 Phase Power (instead of the usual 3 Phase) it also has the new OTES technology which isolates the Mosfetts and the Output transistors and capasitors with huge Heatsinks and thier own Dedicated Enclosed Fan assembly that blows the hot air off of them and removes it to outside of the Case.....But other then the Fact that this Board is Built for Heavy Overclocking in Mind as I can reach 290 MHZ FSB at a 1:1 Memory Ratio, This board also Cost a Fortune compared to to my MSI Boards ...When this ABIT first Came out it was almost as exspensive as BOTH of my MSI Boards put together !! I am not kidding, This Board was Well over $300 US in Late September, And on top of this All of these model ABIT Boards Needed to go back to the Factory because of a DDR and VTT Voltage Problem ...So Would I by another ABIT product..Absolutely NOT would I buy anothe MSI product, well put it this way , I have the New I865PE-PFISR Extreme Edition On order, And on top of it all I think that MSI Does have the BEST Tech. Support (all you have to do is Call!!) and where are you going to find a Product FORUM that has A better Administration and Moderation Team....Not to mention all of the Great Members that go the Extra Mile in order to Help One Another....You wont Find Better, Just Browse the other Websites..ie ASUS, VIA, AOpen, ABIT, Gigabyte,....All that you see in those sites is a bunch of Ranting and No HELP.........MSI ROCKS............Sean REILLY875

  • Would you buy an n200 when firmware upgrade a problem or go with nan

My dealer has both the n200 and nano with n200 a bit lower in price.Would you go with n200 if no firmware upgrade seems to exist or go for the nano?Does the n200 have decent firmware in it so upgrade not needed? Is there firmware out there to stop the backlight buzz? thanks matt

First of all, compare the n200 to the Nano Plus. The Nano lacks FM radio and doesn't come with the case and armband(In the US both the n200 and Nano Plus have FM and the case and armband. In other places the case and armband might not be included). I would tend to want the Nano Plus if it is close in price to the n200 since going forward firmware upgrades for it will probably be available for longer than for the n200. Some of the earlier n200 firmware does have issues, especially that before .2 . If you do decide to buy an n200 you should plan to do a firmware upgrade as soon as you get it. It is not easy to tell what firmware an n200 will have just by looking at the package. If the price of the Nano Plus is $20 or more above that of the same capacity n200, then I would prefer an n200. If the Nano Plus is only $0 more then I would prefer the Nano Plus. Between those I guess it is a toss up.

  • Which One Would You Buy?

Hello to All - My brother already has a 240GB Crucial M500 installed in one laptop, and now he wants to buy a new Crucial SSD around 250GB in size for another machine. He wanted to buy another M500, but they're no longer available, and he isn't too sure which one to choose from the current models. Given the choice, and regardless of price, would you choose the BX100, the MX100, or the MX200?

Thanks for your quick responses, and the link to the article on anandtech.com in particular.   ***Edited to remove Crucial competitor***

  • What new setup would you get for editing video in iMovie?

Hey gang. I'm upgrading all the electronics in my home and would love some buying and configuring advice. This question could go in the desktop discussion group as well, but the main thing that will tax the next system is family video editing and (temporary) storage. What desktop would you get? iMac or maybe Mac Mini? What camcorder? Canon Vixia ( http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/838768-REG/Canon_M50_HF_M50.html )? I want movies to load quickly and easily, so was thinking of one with SD card media.  Time Capsule? (One advisor said to go with another router). And if you were going to get a new TV, what would you get? Flat panel or projector? Yeah, I know: my credit card is gonna be lovin' me.  Been saving up, though, and just built all new furniture for my home office, so I can't wait to load it up with nice new gear. Thanks for any advice!

Sorry to correct that Karsten - you are always right normally
    From the Apple Store ( http://store.apple.com/us/product/MD033LL/A/time-capsule-3tb?fnode=4d )
    Easy wireless networking.
Connect your DSL or cable modem to Time Capsule, then quickly set it up with the easy-to-use AirPort Utility, which is available as download for both Mac OS X and Windows. In minutes, you and up to 50 others can use your Mac computers or PCs to surf the web, stream video, share photos and more — without wires.3
I think that earlier versions fit your description, but the latest does have wireless networking. It works like the Airport Extreme base station.
