What about Director 12?

Hi everybody
This maybe is a silly question: What about Director 12? Any
news?

While I agree that it is a great improvement that Adobe is at
least actively working on Director the lack of any information
about their roadmap for the product is bewildering and
counterproductive. We all understand that they do not want to
promise specific features and functionality but a general idea on
improvements and direction will help us in decisions of technology
expertise. Also we (developers) are responsible to our clients to
provide good advice and proper choices on the development platforms
we propose for today and tomorrow. It is also hard to believe that
Adobe will continue development of Director unless it attracts new
developers. Director has been in the shadows for very long and I
have not seen any effort to shine some light into it.
As for "www.adobedirectoronline.com" - is a good effort that
added some material initially when it launched but it also sits
idle for long periods of time. There are many resources/web sites
devoted to director with useful tutorials, samples etc that are run
by members of the great director community. What worries me is
(what I perceive as) the lack of effort from Adobe itself in
keeping developers informed and involved.

What about using `set -e'

I noticed we usually use || return 1 to break the build function in case or errors.
It works, but you have to recall to put it almost everywhere.
I was thinking, what about using `set -e' at the start of the function? *
So the build() function would fail automatically if any subcommand returns non zero,
if a command can return nonzero we will add `|| true', but it is much rarer.

Old OSX Spotlight function automatically displayed path/location within the machine: e.g. desktop/folder/sub-folder/item.
Can I make Spotlight show the path?

Press option-command and the path is displayed at the bottom of the little preview window. Press command-return and the enclosing folder opens.

Is it possible to call a locally installed ibook from a hyperlink? What about to a bookmarked page?
I have 2 questions..
1. Can I send a link via email that when launched will open an ibook that has already been downloaded to the bookshelf?
2. If question 1 is possible, can I take it a step further and call a bookmark, i.e. chapter 3.
Our company has it's own appstore and I want to send out links to sections of the ibooks using bookmarks or at the very least take them to the start of the ibook.
I don't need to give them a link to install the ibook as they already have it installed.
Any help would be much appreciated.

That would be cool, but it's not possible. The ibook is not accessible by URL in the user's bookshelf.

The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud. With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated. There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

i boot camped a new Partition at 10 GB and put Windows XP SP2 on it
i got 2 new questions
1.Can i change the 10GB to 20 GB and if so HOW
2.Can i do yet Another Partition so my macbook can have OS10/Xp/Vista in 3 seperate partitions?

is there a way to open Both Partitions at the same time to view OS10 and XP side by side on the same computer ?

Sounds like you didn't plan enough space. Not w/o destroying (backup) your current partitioning to install each natively.

Do you have iMessage? I think as long as that person has iMessage you can use Face Time to call each other.

You should be able to. If the projector has a speaker with acceptable sound, that's one option, otherwise powered speakers or a surround system.
What connections does the projector have?

With iTunes 11 you can enable the left-hand sidebar that used to show on previous versions of iTunes via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC. You can then select the Apps part of your iTunes library on that sidebar and on the right-hand side of iTunes click the Check For Updates button at the bottom to see if any of your apps have updates available. I bought a MacBook Pro retina 13', mid 14. on last december, and after almost a month I did the hardware test of apple as the Technic support says, and this hardware test shows me a problem about charging battery, so, I wanna know what about it, is it normal ? or is it a battery problem or is it a problem about the Current adaptador ? Could be battery, could be adaptor, could be the computer itself. You will have to take it in for testing. Fortunately, you are still under warranty.

A better manual? & what about photo stream from Aperture?

Is there a better manual for ATV other than the one that came with it? I find that one VERY lacking in operating instructions for the ATV.
And what about setting up to stream photos from my photos in Aperture? The only options in the menu are Flickr, Mobile Me and to sync. Syncing all my photos would really eat up the HD space! I would rather stream.
Looks like the option to stream photos from Aperture was eliminated with the last ATV firmware update. What gives Apple??

I have a similar problem using photo stream, turned it on the other day after I had been emailing pics from my laptop and then opened mail on my iPad and opened pics which were all high resolution, photos looked great in photos and albums, but a couple of hours later when they had downloaded in photo stream they were pixelated. They also streamed to my iPhone 4 and the same problem there. A couple of months ago I installed iPhoto on my phone and edited a pic that was on my phone and when saved it also pixelated. I'm beginning to think this is maybe the cause of this, because as I have said, these are high res files and look great when viewed through camera roll, photos or albums, it's only the photo stream folder that is affected. Does photo stream down sample images? Doesn't explain why the iPhoto edit on my phone pixelated though. real curious as to why this is happening, maybe just turn photo stream off.
