What about icloud mail down since yesterday?

I can#t access icloud mail since yesterday afternoon CET. What is the matter?

Yes, poor service from Apple on this one. This time yesterday % withput Mail was 0.17 Now it is 1.1%.  That must be quite a number of users. Why are not more people kicking up a fuss? Mail out for over 24 hours is bad.
I am having to use other email providers.

The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud.  With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated.  There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

    No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library).

  • ICloud mail down in Florida since 11am?

My mac, my macbook air, and iphone can not send or receive email

I've been down since midday 17 April over here in Perth.
It's incredibly frustrating, as some important and urgent email was apparently sent to the iCloud account, which I've missed.
I can't get a straight answer from anyone about when it will be up again.

  • I called Apple twice about iCloud being down

I called Apple for a second time this morning about my mail being down for two days. The man gave me no explanation, even after I asked for one, explaining I use this account for work and need to know when this will be repaired. I guess I asked him too many questions because he hung up on me! Wow, Apple! What is going on there? I've been a MobileMe subscriber for years before they did away with it. They wouldn't return my money last year, even after they cancelled the service two days after I re-subscribed. I definitely didn't get what I paid for and now they are treating their customers terribly. They really need to explain.

Since tuesday afternoon (9//11) I can't use e-mail on my MacBookPro and my iPhone 4S. iCloud is down, also the webmail function. My clients are sending me e-mails for work, and I don't recieve them. I'm losing clients now! I think its outrageous that it takes so long, and that it is not communicated to the Apple users.
I'm an Apple user since 12 years, and right now they wont even talk to me:-(

  • Is iCloud Mail down?

    Hi,
i can't check my emails. So i use on my Macbook Pro my @me.com emailadress with Apple Mail. Since 3-4 days, i can't retrieve my emails and i have exclamation mark right of the inbox, outbox and all another postboxes! When i take a click on this exclamation mark, i can read
Mail can not open this postbox with server „p05-imap.mail.me.com“
Server hosting this mailbox is not available
Well, what is wrong? Apple Server down at the moment??
    Greetings from Germany
    Veit

Open "Internet Accounts" in Preferences, click on iCloud to open your account preferences, deselect the mail option, and then reselect it a few seconds later and allow it to reset the settings and... Viola.
At least this is what worked for me.

  • What does iCloud Mail Syncing accomplish?

I have one Mac desktop and two laptops, plus an iPhone & iPad. I use use IMAP with my Gmail account and forward my "iCloud" mail to my Gmail account. I am using OS X 10.9.3.  It seems the IMAP features keep the mail "synchronized" on each device. I thought iCloud sync may sync smart mailboxes across the devices, but I can't seem to create smart mailboxes that persist (separate discussion topic).
Since I can't seem to use smart mailboxes, is there any reason to sync mail through iCloud? What is it supposed to do?
    Thanks Dave
P.S. feel free to comment on my other thread!
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/26116959#26116959

That make sense, but  still somewhat confused. I have found other threads that discuss syncing smart mailboxes across Macs (not sure about iOS devices).
    For example: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4137249?start=15&tstart=0
There are data files in the Library that suggest smart mailbox syncing such as:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/SyncedSmartMailboxes.plist
    ~/Library/Mobile Documents/com~apple~mail/Data/MailData/ubiquitous_SyncedSmartMailboxes.plist
I kind of assumed that "System Preferences --> iCloud --> Mail" allowed that sync tooccur (?).
Of course, I still can't create smart mailboxes anyway due to my other issue described in
https://discussions.apple.com/message/26116959#26116959, so it is kind of moot until I resolve that issue.

  • ICloud mail down in Australia. Any idea when it will be back up?

Have not had iCloud mail come through all day, any idea if its a) down and b) if so, when it will be back up?

I've been down since midday 17 April over here in Perth.

  • Can i delete/change what my iCloud mail is called?

I have an iCloud account with my apple-ID mail, thats fine. But I regret what I called my iCloud mail. How can I change/delete my iCloud mail?

Well, the first thing you'd have to worry about would be making your email address no longer an apple id.  From what I understand, you can't simple cancel an email address from being an apple id.  You could try to contact iTunes Support, who handles apple ids and ask... but I doubt it.  You can try them following the menus at expresslane.apple.com .
And if that were possible, and you were able to recreate it as an apple id, therefore getting a new icloud email address, you'd have to worry about getting your icloud data from your current icloud setup to the new one.  That would involve doing backups of your calendars/contacts/etc first.  Sign out of your current icloud, and then re-import everything.

  • ICloud mail down more than 24 hours.....

Seems selling iphones is more important to Apple than servicing existing customers that are affected by this iCloud mail problem.
More than 1% must be affected by looking at the geographic spread from the comments on this "support" community.
Apple should come out and state that they have a BIG problem and give us some time frame to the fix of this problem.
I'm surprised the media hasn't jumped all over this! "APPLE MAKES A MISTAKE!"  the headline reads on the day the new iphone debuts.
Believe me if Google mail wasn't working for more than 24 hours the Apple pr machine would be all over it like a cheap suit, and would invest more resources to googles problem than they seem to be putting towards fixing this problem. This shows a big hole in Apples support because one's iCloud / MobileMe mail is not something that should be related to the purchase of new software or a product. Apple should set up a 1-800 number so affected customers can get information and solutions related to this problem.

Quit Mail. Force quit if necessary.
Back up all data. That means you know you can restore the Mail database, no matter what happens.
Triple-click the text on the line below to select it:
    ~/Library/Mail/V2/MailData/Envelope Index
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C). In the Finder, select
    Go ▹ Go to Folder
from the menu bar. Paste into the box that opens (command-V), then press return.
A Finder window will open with a file selected. Move the selected file to the Desktop, leaving the window open. Other files in the folder may have names that begin with "Envelope Index". Move those files, if any, to the Trash.
Log out and log back in. Relaunch Mail. It should prompt you to re-import your messages. You may get a warning that the index is corrupt and that Mail has to quit. Click OK.
Test. If Mail now works as expected, you can delete the file you moved to the Desktop. Otherwise, post your results.

  • ICloud mail down?

i've been unable to access icloud mail on any device this morning. anyone else experiencing this?

Same problem here. I just spoke with Apple and they don't have an official reported outage, there does seem to be an issue on the mail server for some users. They're checking back with me in a couple of hours.

  • Mail down since Yosemite!! SMTP (outgoing)

hello everyone.. well I am in mexico city and I have problems with my outgoing mail since yosemite!!!
1st of all, I used to repair computers for 10 years so I thought I was able to repair this problem but I just don´t!! I have tried each possibility ever for 2 weeks daily  and about 30 hours reading and trying! So this must be apple issues for sure!
I red yesterday that with the update to 10.10.1 there is a fix to the bug but still nothing!!
BY THE WAY!! this problem occurs to everyone using POP or IMAP mail... there are some people who solved this issue with some luck or with some remendations on this link: Re: Mail SMTP (outgoing) does not work after Yosemite upgrade
BUT; There are some other people like me that have try everything.. even formatting the computer, creating new mail accounts from the same server, from 3 different mac´s retina ,core 2 duo core i7 , etc )
yosemite is not what I was expecting for months!, it crashes and crashes and It is annoying.
    best regards
    carlos fonseca

I was having the same problem as everyone else regarding the upgrade to Yosemite and the smtp errors. I didn't see any questions regarding Outlook for Mac so I just decided to try some different things. What worked for me was using the Apple Mail Settings Lookup (google it). I discovered that the Server Port numbers that were entered into my account preferences and what were shown on the Mail Settings Lookup were different. If you find when you do this your Server Port numbers are different do the following: Open Preferences in Outlook, click Accounts. Then you will have to put a check in the Override Default Port for both the Incoming and Outgoing servers (if both of your Server Port numbers are different). After I did this, my outgoing mail sent with no problems. Hope this helps someone out there!
