What about keychain Ukrainian support?

There's even Uganda, but no Ukraine in list of countrys...

OS X Mavericks, clean install (on the separate partition), Russian version, configuring Keychain - all of the countries are named... the North America!
After the first reboot of OS X, all countries has normal names but Ukraine still was not listed.

  • GarageBand v.10 vs. v.6: what about all the support files?

Never used GarageBand myself, so I don't know much about it. Redoing setup of a friend's older model iMac, I install some of the iLife 2011 apps, but see that the App Store offers the latest GarageBand v.10 as a free install, so I go ahead with the latter. However, I note that the new GarageBand doesn't seem to install any of the very large array of support files that the old GarageBand did (e.g. in /Library/Application Support/GarageBand). I wonder, does the new GarageBand use any of that stuff? If so, shouldn't it appear when GB 10 is installed?
I delete the new GarageBand and install GB 6.0 from the iLife install disc; it puts the usual 1.4GB of support files in /Library/Application Support/GarageBand (and others elsewhere, I believe). I then download/install the new GB v.10 again, noting that while the GB 6.0 application file (which has now been placed in a folder labeled "GarageBand 6.0) is some ~267 MB, the new GB 10 application is 1.2GB. So does the new GB include all its support files within the application? If/when I delete GB 6.0, shall I delete all the supporting files (which I recall from previous searches are spread out in various locations)? Anybody know about this?

Thanks, léonie, for the information; very helpful. I downloaded the updater for GB 6.0.5, but the Installer told me “The version of GarageBand installed on this Mac must be updated through the Mac App Store. Check the Mac App Store to see if an update is available.” Software Update / Mac App Store doesn’t show any update for any version of GarageBand.
Assuming that the presence of GB 10 prevents the Installer from seeing GB 6, I delete GB 10, pull GB 6 out of the folder where it was placed by the GB 10 installation, then Restart the iMac, and run the GB 6.0.5 Update again. Now it tells me “GarageBand 6.0 or later is required to install this update.” Uh, GarageBand 6.0 is right there in the Applications folder; it even says “GarageBand 6.0” below it.
Okay. I move GarageBand 6.0 to the Trash, and reinstall it from the iLife 11 disc, then Restart the iMac and try the GB 6.0.5 Update again. This time it works. Whew. I then download/install GB 10 again. I’ll leave it up to the iMac owner to decide where he wants to go with these.
    Thanks again.

  • What about compile time support for String.intern()

Then we could use it in switch statements...

Then we could use it in switch statements...Huh? The switch statement syntax would still require a 'type' and that type would have to be String. And the JMS doesn't support String in the byte codes so the JLS and the JMS would have to change.
Since this is a rather simple problem if you use code generation it wouldn't seem like a great addition to me.

  • What about support JavaScript?

    Wow!
Many thanks for this great App!
    I'm waiting for years!
So, my question is: what about java support?? sure, its dangerous! any doubts?
    thanks
    Michael
p.s. hope its the first step for flash on ipad/iphone!

I had gone through most of that tech note, but hadn't renamed
the configuration folder - sort of stopped after I couldn't
uninstall my extensions. So now I did unstall the extensions
(thanks for that tip!!), which didn't help; then renamed the the
configuration folder - and voila! it worked. I've done this before
for a similar problem, guess I should clean out all the old config
folders out there. Thanks for that. Shows me I must complete the
tasks given - just didn't quite believe that this was the problem
being addressed by the tech note.
    Thanks for the help!

  • HT204053 What is keychain access?

Jus purchased my iMAC on Saturday. Everytime I am trying to access an application it is asking me for "keychain password" and the password I ws told to use doe snot activate anything. What I am doing wrong. I was never told about keychain access.

I suggest you take it back to where it was purchased for assistance or call Apple. You have free telephone assistance for 90 days.

For iTunes: Apple - Support - iTunes.
If you setup your computer properly after first turning it on, then you created an admin user account with a username and password. These would have been saved in your system's keychain.
Keychain Access is a utility located in the Utilities folder.
    Tutorial: Resolving Keychain Issues
If you can't access your keychain, or forget your password If you can't get into your keychain file because you've forgotten your password or the keychain file appears to be corrupt, there are a couple of options.
First, if you've forgotten your password, you can use the "Keychain First Aid" utility to make the keychain password the same as the login password. This can be accomplished via the following process:
      1. Open Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Preferences"
      3. Click the "First Aid" tab
      4. Make sure the "Synchronize login keychain password" box is checked
      5. Close the Preferences window
      6. Go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Keychain First Aid"
      7. Enter your username and password
      8. Click the "Repair" button
The second option is to completely delete your keychain then recreate it. This routine is useful if your keychain appears to be corrupt or otherwise inaccessible. This can be accomplished as follows:
      1. Launch Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)
      2. Click "Show Keychains" in the lower-left corner of the window.
      3. Select the problematic keychain from the left-hand pane.
      4. Navigate to the "File" menu and select "Delete Keychain '(name of keychain)'"
      5. Check all options for deletion and press "OK"
      6. Create a new keychain by going to the "File" menu, then "New" and selecting
          "New Keychain"
      7. You can now make this keychain your default if you desire by selecting it, then
going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make '(name of keychain)' Default"
Login as root and perform repair In some cases, problems with keychains can only be resolved when logged in as the root user.
First, you want to enable the root user:
      1. OS X Mountain Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      2. OS X Lion: Enable and disable the root user
      3. Mac OS X 10.6: Enabling the root user
      4. Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
After enabling the root user, and logging in under this account, again open Keychain Access. First attempt repairs using Keychain First Aid, and failing that, delete then recreate the keychain as described above while logged in as root.
Persistently asked for stored passwords If you are persistently asked for passwords in various applications that you have specified should be remembered in a keychain, your "login" keychain may not be active for one reason or another.
Navigate to ~/Library/Keychains/ (this is the Library folder inside your user's home folder). Find the file named "login.keychain" and double-click it.
Failing that, select the "login" keychain within the Keychain Access application and make sure it is the default keychain by going to the "File" menu and selecting "Make 'Login' Default"
Turn off Keychain synchronization in applications having problems If specific applications are experiencing issues when accessing password-protected material, the Keychain may be to blame.

  • The iOS 6.01 killed the Apple SD reader on my IPad 3 (purchased new in May). What gives Apple? Support phone call useless.

The iOS 6.01 killed the Apple SD reader on my IPad 3 (purchased new in May). What gives Apple? Support phone call useless. iOS installed today November 3 and dialog box came up say device no longer supported.
It's an Apple SD card reader (purchased the same week in Syracuse,NY) and it worked fine yesterday after part one of a Day of the Dead shoot in central Mexico.
As a professional journalist I traveled with the iPad and a Nikon D80 and lenses and flash. My MacBook would be addded weight so this application (the iPad) fits the bill.
I was in Paris for a month in October and shot thousands of photos. Often did not have wireless and used the iPad as a photo safe to store the photos.
Back in the Paris apartment the Photostream worked great.
So what gives Apple...I upgrade my Ipad 1 for an Ipad 3 and now it's useless in this application and the new iOS. Was there any warning or information that this would happen? Or did you test the iOs on the iPad 4? Afterall the iPad 3 is, what 5 months old?
But, and a big BUT Apple, I can buy an iPad 4 and use the thunderbolt SD card reader. Is this how you become a world class company???
Our next Apple purchase is not going to be that...was going to be an Ipad mini for my wife to use on the road in her job. She travels giving anesthesia.
We are an Apple family....My first Apple was an Apple II and had a Newtown (that still works).
And we now have an iPhone, 2 MacBookPros, 2 Apple TVs.
My other computer is an old PC that works with my professional weather station and also interfaces with my ham radio. While I dislike the stability of Windows the system allows me to tinker and work with other devices.
How can Apple not recognize that folks do want to do thing the way they have been and also abandon DVD/CD drives from computers yet at the same time Apple will sell you its own DVD/CD drive.
I have always loved my early AppleII but had to abandon it for writing and editing  (early photo editing and design was still a dream then) because most companies "did not support Apple," I was told by corporate IT people. So a love hate period of using PCs.
Now Apple does not support users but it will sell us the latest gadget. This is stupid marketing and wrong consumption by America.
I don't want to trust the Cloud for everything and want the ability to edit and stroe photos with ease and not always reply on wi-fi.
Maybe I should shell out $69 for tech support.

    Hey wmhwilson,
first of all you are not addressing apple in these forums. We are all just users like you trying to help eachother out. I can almost guarantee they didn't pull the support for the card reader from ipad 3. As i have a nikon camera and d5000 and a card reader running on ipad 3 and i just did a import from the sd card after I read your comments. It could be a bug within your ipad. Try restarting the ipad, if you have everything back up to icloud do a full reset then restore from icloud.
Second, going off on a tangent about apple and their business practices, in support forums which are user based, really wont get you much help. We come here to help people like you and there are way to many folks who go out venting and we all heard it before and kinda getting bit tired off it.
Third, before doing proper diagnostics, rebooting, restoring ipad, using different SD card, try using usb connector directy to the camera, don't assume that apple pulled the plug on it. It could be a bug that slipped through testing however I highly doubt it since its working for me.
So try rebooting, restoring ipad from icloud (if you have back up), try inserting a different SD card. Since you are photographer you must have more then one. Try using the other connector that comes with camera kit.

  • Hardware diagnostic shows me a problem about charging battery. What about it ?

    Hi.
I bought a MacBook Pro retina 13', mid 14. on last december, and after almost a month I did the hardware test of apple as the Technic support says, and this hardware test shows me a problem about charging battery, so, I wanna know what about it, is it normal ? or is it a battery problem or is it a problem about the Current adaptador ? Thank your for your answers.

Could be battery, could be adaptor, could be the computer itself.  You will have to take it in for testing.  Fortunately, you are still under warranty.

  • HT5312 what about if you have added a rescue email address and verifyed it and the forgot your security question thing still doesnt show because i dont no my security questions ???????????????????????

what about if you have added a rescue email address and verifyed it and the i forgot my security questions still doesnt show up and i dont no the answers !?!?!?!?!?!?!?! what do i do then because i dont want to phone up !?!?!?! please help !!??!?!?!

If you have just added an address to your account then it will be an alternate email address - a rescue email address can only be added by answering 2 of your questions. You will need to contact iTunes Support or Apple to get the questions reset.
e.g. you can try contacting iTunes Support : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Account Management , and then 'Forgotten Apple ID security questions'
or try ringing Apple in your country and ask to talk to the Accounts Security Team : http://support.apple.com/kb/HE57
When they've been reset you can then use the steps half-way down the page that you posted from to add a rescue email address for potential future use, or you could change to 2-step verification : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5570

  • Question (two really) about Keychain

I'm not having a problem now, but I'm wondering if someone can help me understand something with Keychain.
The other day, while trying to learn more about Keychain, I changed my password for keychain "login".  After using the computer for a few minutes I changed the password back to my original password.
The next day after the computer awoke from sleep a box popped up with "Mac OS wants to use the "login" keychain.  Please enter the keychain password."
When I tried to type my password in the "Password:" field it would not take anything I was typing.  It was as if my keyboard was not working, though I know it was since I could type in other places.  I could not get rid of the box and it was always in front of everything else on the display.  I think I had only Safari and Mail running and I was probably using Safari to google this problem and Mail was running in the background.
I think (I'm having a little difficulty remembering my exact steps) I ended up logging out and back in to get rid of this box, however, every time the computer came out of its sleep this box popped back up (I'm sure about this, though).
I finally used Time Machine to restore an older login.keychain and metadata.keychain to my ~/Library/Keychains folder to fix this issue.  I no longer get the pop up box.
I would like to know why I was getting this pop up box.  What did I do wrong.  I thought I had reverted back to my original password, which is my login password.  Could I have mistyped that password and that was the problem?
And, why was it not accepting text in the "password:" field when I typed my password?
    Thanks for any help.

    Thanks for the reply, Eric
I didn't think about deleting the plist.  You think that might have been causing the pop up or not allowing the text input into the Password: field?   WIsh I had done that to see.  I still have not had a reocurrance of the pop up since restoring those two files, but just in case I deleted the plist files anyway, as you mentioned.
I also ran the First Aid and, oddly enough, it did not find any problems.
I did read about resetting Keychain but was warned that I would lose all my existing keychain passwords, and I have a bunch, mostly Airport network passwords of friends I help with their Macs, so I decided to use the reset as a very last resort, which I never had to use.

  • TS3988 I use iCloud. I have an iPhone, Apple laptop, and I recently bought an iPad. The pictures I take on my phone can be viewed on my iPad, but what about all the pictures on my phone that I took before I bought my iPad? How do I view those with my iPad

I use iCloud. I have an iPhone, Apple laptop, and I recently bought an iPad. I can view the pictures I take on my cell phone on my iPad. But what about all the pictures I took on my phone before I bought my iPad? How do I view those on my iPad?

POP: yahoo, aol, comcast/time warnder/road runner
Imap: google, hotmail, and more including icloud.
If you want to use multiple devices - move to imap, I would even say "exchange", but Google does not support free exchange anymore, since January of that year. So Ironically  Icloud or Hotmail would be my choices right now.
To find out more about what happens to you, search on Google "difference between pop and imap"
