What about lightroom 5.0 standalone?

I have lightroom 4.4. When I check for updates l get I'm up-to-date. What about lightroom 5.0 standalone?

Yes, there is an upgrade pricing, this is exactly what DdeGannes says.
Depending on your OS, you need one of these links:
Windows:  Adobe - Lightroom : For Windows : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.6
Mac : Adobe - Lightroom : For Mac : Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5.6
This will start you off with a fully functional trial version (you'll need to upgrade your existing catalogue but this creates a new LR5 compatible one so you can always go back to 4 if you wish (but changes made in 5.x will not be visible).  You can upgrade from the trial at any time (as I recall), but you will need your exisitng LR 4 serial number.

  • If I buy Photoshop (Cs5), is Bridge included in it? And what about Lightroom?

I'm not new to using Photoshop, Bridge or Lightroom (version  CS3) however the original installation of these programs when I had them was not done by me (my pc crashed) so I am not sure which products have to be bought on the site. i.e do i have to buy each program separately?  and are there specific versions for Mac?

Yes, there are separate versions and licenses for Macintosh and for Windows of Photoshop. Lightroom includes versions and licenses for both Macintosh and for Windows.
Yes, Photoshop includes Bridge.  As a matter of fact, Bridge began as nothing more than Photoshop's image browser.
Lightroom is a completely separate application.  It's totally optional and, if you decide you want it, you do have to buy it separately.

  • Lightroom cc / 6 standalone study

wo kann man die lightroom cc / 6 standalone study version auf der adobe seit runterladen?

So you don't want Auto Tone applied when you synchronize to do when you import from the camera?   How does LR know when you synchronize if the photos were just copied (by you) from the camera or if you are messing around and are synchronizing photos you've already imported once but told LR to forget about?  It can't.  Basically you have to be smart enough to do things correctly.
My question would be why was the Auto Tone set in Preferences to begin with?   Was it by mistake or on purpose but you forgot?
And why would you need this?  Sometimes I do Auto Tone on many of my images, before I reset the Exposure and Blacks and Whites that are invariably not what I want, so I would rather initiate the Auto Tone myself and fix it as I go through, not assume that me or my camera didn't expose things reasonably well.

I am a long-term user of Lightroom as a standalone product with a perpetual licence. As a retired person on limited income, it is very disappointing to me that Adobe have introduced the 'Creative Cloud' (CC) subscription service in order for me to be able to continue upgrading this excellent product. It will be for me too expensive at the minimum cost of £9 per month. The additional services that CC brings are personally of no relevance or usefulness. Adobe should be prepared to support existing users who are, like myself, non commercial, amateur photographers by giving them the simple opportunity to upgrade to Lightroom 6 as a standalone, perpetual licence product. As a member of a camera club I know my co-members who use Lightroom are equally disappointed by this move to a subscription-only service.

That is possible, John, but it is only speculation on your part. Might, not will.

There is a "Lightroom 6" upgrade available for US $79 if you have a valid license for any of the earlier versions. From what I can tell, the only difference between Lightroom 6 Full, Lightroom 6 Upgrade and LightroomCC is in the license. The download file is the same.
Other differences - with CC you get LrMobile/LrWeb and they throw in a free copy of Photoshop too.
Yes, but when I bought my standalone license and clicked on the "Download" button it took me to the LightroomCC page. The downloaded file is named Lightroom 6, but in the CC app the installed program is LightroomCC (2015).

  • What can Lightroom do for me that Photoshop and Bridge can't?

I've been using Creative Suite Design Pro since CS2 (now on CS4).  Lately I've been getting more into photography and have started hearing and reading about Lightroom.  Does Lightroom have features that Photoshop Extended and Bridge in CS don't?  Can it do things for me that I can't already do in CS?  Bottom line - what makes it worth the purchase price?             Thanks, Mary

If you are comparing Lightroom to Photoshop CS specifically, the biggest difference you are going to see is the Lightroom capabilities compared to what Camera Raw in Photoshop CS will do.  Lightroom has all the features of the latest Camera Raw.  As far as Photoshop itself is concerned, I haven't used CS4, but the big feature that I saw an improved in CS3 was the Photoemerge feature.  It works so much better, and I understand it is even better in CS4.  I'm sure there are many other improvements in the latest version of Photoshop, but I have decided to wait for the next version before I upgrade.

  • In terms of organizing photos, what does Lightroom do better/different than Photoshop Elements?

    Hi,
I recently purchased Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements 12.  I have many, many pictures from several years on our hard drive and would love to be able to better organize and tag them, etc.  I have recently learned that Photoshop Elements can do this for me.  I have also recently heard that Lightroom is good for this.  Before I start importing thousands and thousands of files into PSE, I figure I should determine if I should use Lightroom instead.  This would obviously come at an additional cost, so I would like this forum's help in explaining how Lightroom might be better than PSE for this function so that I can determine if it's worth the extra cost.
    Thanks!

The PSE Organizer has fewer features and more bugs than Lightroom, in my opinion
Lightroom has more features for searching and more metadata fields for your use if you need them
Lightroom offers the ability to geotag your photos and display them on a map
Lightroom can streamline your workflow, so if for example you want to do the same things to multiple photos (including applying the same edits), this is much easier in Lightroom.
In general, my opinion is that Lightroom's Library Module is a superior piece of software than the PSE Organizer. In general, my opinion is that the user interface for Lightroom's Library module is a superior interface than the PSE Organizer. My opinion is that Lightroom's workflow is smoother and more efficient than doing the same things in PSE.
But some people love the PSE Organizer. It all depends on what you want to do. Your best path forward is to download the 30-day free trial of Lightroom, view some tutorial videos about Lightroom (don't skip this step), and compare for yourself the PSE Organizer to the Lightroom Library Module (and other parts of Lightroom as well).

Spotlight lists items and shows preview images.  BUT what about showing the path/location address of an item in my computer.
Especially important if I've put the item in the wrong folder and what to locate it without multi-steps. iMac OS X 10.5 was more useful.
Old OSX Spotlight function automatically displayed path/location within the machine:  e.g. desktop/folder/sub-folder/item.
Can I make Spotlight show the path?

Press option-command and the path is displayed at the bottom of the little preview window.  Press command-return and the enclosing folder opens.

  • HT5071 Is it possible to call a locally installed ibook from a hyperlink? What about to a bookmark?

Is it possible to call a locally installed ibook from a hyperlink? What about to a bookmarked page?
    I have 2 questions..
    1. Can I send a link via email that when launched will open an ibook that has already been downloaded to the bookshelf?
    2. If question 1 is possible, can I take it a step further and call a bookmark, i.e. chapter 3.
Our company has it's own appstore and I want to send out links to sections of the ibooks using bookmarks or at the very least take them to the start of the ibook.
I don't need to give them a link to install the ibook as they already have it installed.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Chris.

That would be cool, but it's not possible. The ibook is not accessible by URL in the user's bookshelf.

The recommended solution for most families is to share the same Apple ID for iTunes and App Store purchases, so you can share your purchases, but us different IDs for iMessage, FaceTime and iCloud.  With this arrangement, each person can automatically download purchases made on the shared ID (by turning this feature on in Settings>iTunes & App Stores), while keeping their FaceTime calls, text messages and iCloud data (including photo stream) separated.  There is no requirement that the ID you use for purchasing be the same as the ID you use for these other services.

You need to create a user account for your wife (or yourself depending on who has the current user account). When syncing, each of you should sign in as a separate user, login to iTunes and then sync. I had this problem when my sister got an iPhone. When we did her initial sync, everything on my iPhone showed up on hers. Apple gave me this solution.

    No.
One of you create a new AppleID and one use the existing AppleID.
But you can still use the items in each iTunes library.
Create separate computer logins for each of you.
This will give you each your own data. Contacts, calendars, photos, etc. (and your own iTunes library).

"Can you put purchased DVD movies that you have on your ipod? "
No.  breaking the encryption in order to copy them illegal.
" what about recorded DVD's that you have? "
    Add them to itunes.

    thanks in advance

Sounds like you didn't plan enough space. Not w/o destroying (backup) your current partitioning to install each natively.
Maybe Parallels would fit your needs.
