What about screen protectors?

Has anyone had any experience with Macalley (or other) screen protectors, negative or positive?
I purchase some and found there is a small strip of adhesive on the protector to stick onto the screen. I assume the adhesive won't leave a mark when I take the thing off but you never know with products these days.
Any input would be appreciated.

I use the radtech.us screen protector. It is a washable cloth that fits in between the keyboard and the screen when the lid is down.

  • Question about screen protector (ipad2)

    Hi,
I just applied a screen protector on my iPad 2 and I've noticed that it isn't 100% straight:
The front camera doesn't sit exactly in the protector's hole.
Actually, the hole in the protector kind of sits in the center of the camera.
It doesn't disturb the images, but is it can do harm to the camera in some way?
    Thanks :)

No it won't harm your iPad, but it might cause picture distortion on the edges of the photos. If your pictures look fine then you are OK.

  • What about screens of imac ?

    hi everyone !
i'd like to know if it is possible to connect the screen of the imac with another process?
for example, could i play with my playstation in the 24' sceen of my imac ?
thx for answering ! i hope i've been understood cuz i'm not as good in english as i'd wish

    aenorion,
You'll need a 3rd Party device like the Elgato EyeTV Hybrid for this. It costs $150 and also turns your iMac in to a HDTV.

  • Question about screen protectors

Does anyone use the invisibleShield for the iphone?
I am just wondering if this particular brand is easy to install and how well it protects the iphone.
It's $20 so it should be worth it. It's avaliable at walmart.com

i could not get mine to sit right and i spent ages trying. Waste of time for me. Their youtube add makes it look easy but its not. Also there is a new design of cover for the 3g - the old design for 3g was hard to make the corners work and its supposed to be easier with the new 3g design - you need to check you get the right one.
You must also make sure you do nto spray the phone with the liquid - some guy on youtube siad that this water detector (it goes pink when the phone goes is water and means apple will not replace if something goes wrong) has now gone off cos he sprayed the skin and it got all over the phone
    good luck

  • Games? Screen protector

Does anyone know of any games for the itouch? I downloaded a iPod games only to realize it would not sync with my iTouch..... anyone have any games on their iTouch yet? Looking for Texas Hold'em. What about screen protectors for the glass screen?
    Thanks guys....

THere are no games on ITMS that you can buy for the ipod touch. But you can try these web based games possibly. THey were developed for the iphone but the ipod touch is similar. YOu would need to be in a wifi hotspot.

For a screen protector I might suggest this.

  • Concerned about Screen

I know that apple says that the screen is scratch "resistant" but does anyone have any suggestions (beside the obvious.."dont scratch it) about screen protectors. Will they limit the functions or sound of the phone? Any suggestions on which one might be better or are they all the same basically

I bought this along with the iPhone: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wa/RSLID?mco=B31 9498&nplm=TN612LL/A
It's easy to apply and it doesn't interfere with the screen functions at all. Best of all it works via static cling so there's no adhesive to mess the screen.

  • Iphone Screen Protector & Cover

I'm sorry if im posting in the wrong place im new to these forums and i have a huge question about Screen Protectors and covers...
The protector that my screen has is starting to come off from the bottom and im scared i might scratch my screen if i lose it all together so ived been looking into protectors that are being sold online and i found these two that people seem to recommend:
    http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/the-69/iPhone-Total-Body-Skin/Detail#itemad ded
which is only 10 bucks shipped but only covers the screen. OR
    http://www.zagg.com/invisibleshield/apple-iphone-cases-screen-protectors-covers- skins-shields.php
which is about 26 but covers the whole phone plus they have a pretty convincing video heh... any who im wondering if any of you own either of these and can recommend me one. Thanks again and let me just say this phone is by far the best phone i have ever owned but im sure im not the only one who thinks that

Ordered Zagg's Invisible shield when I ordered the phone, both arrived on the same day and that night I applied the front and back. The front was easy enough and looks great. That "orange peel" kinda look doesn't bother me at all and I rest assured knowing my screen is protected from the beginning.
The back shield took me a long time to apply, I had to re-apply several times 'cause I was not happy with how it was ending up. It was easy enough to peel back off and re-apply but I needed more solution. The box says you can just add water to the little spray bottle and be good to go. I did this and it worked fine.
Once finished, I left it alone to cure but in the end I was unhappy with the back shield. It didn't conform as much as I would have liked and I could feel it as i used the phone. I wasn't able to get it on there as perfect as I would have liked. It is a chore. In the end I took it off and it's been off for over two weeks and I have yet to have any scratches on the back of my phone. I am careful with it and whenever I do place it anywhere it's face-down, as the shield is on the screen and protects the phone if it slides, which is hard as it is since the tackiness of the material pretty much keeps it in place.
On a side note. There's a video of how someone left their Invisible Shielded phone on the roof of their car as they drove on the highway and it stayed in place due to the tackiness of the material. I thought this was silly until I absentmindedly did the same thing myself. I didn't get very far, but I did drive enough that any other phone would have slid right off. I didn't realize it was on my roof till I got a call, my bluetooth car hands-free kicked in, and I heard the phone vibrate....over my head.
In the end I would say the product is very highly recommended; you may have an easier time applying the back shield. I love the protection I get on the screen, and it is as good as "naked." No bulk at all. Also, if you're ever stupid enough to forget your phone was placed on the roof of your car as you fished for your keys...you haven't lost your investment.

  • Can a fingernail depass an iphone 5 screen protector?

Can it depass to scratch the screen?

Again, if you have a screen protector from a company other than Apple on your iPhone, you should talk to whatever company made that screen protector. I have no way of knowing what the screen protector you have might be capable of.
    Regards.

  • What kind of screen protector should I use for my iPhone 6? Should I use one?

I'm looking for a screen protector for my brand new baby. To my dismay, it's hard to find one that "fits" because of the curved edges. I have ocd, not to mention that what isn't covered by a screen protector are usually crucial areas. Can anyone recommend anything? I always use a screen protector because I'm super paranoid. I throw my phone in my purse a lot where I feel like it will come in contact with one too many things that can scratch it. I don't have a ton of money to spend, sorry I'm a college student. Also, I don't like glass protectors. If I need one I'm looking for a film. Thanks in advance from a new iPhone 6 parent!

I have an iPhone 6 Plus but I thought I would try to help you out!! I use the Zagg Glass Invisible shield and I must say at first I loved it! It feels smooth and accepts input super well! It doesn't, however, go all the way to the edge of the screen which is weird, I agree. I've only had it for about a month now and its already chipped on the top edge by the speaker and its super annoying!! They will replace it for free but I'm not sure that I want another one that chipped so easily.
I've heard great things about the iloome screen mate and it goes all the way to the edge of the screen and covers the curved part. I know you said you don't like glass protectors but those are the best and if you get a good one you pretty much only need to replace it once a year so you pay a bit more up front but it lasts a lot better than just film ones. Hope that helps!!!!!

  • Question about the SGP Oleophobic screen protector

I just ordered one of the SGP Ultra Oleophobic protectors and was curious about their longevity. I never used a screen protector on my 3g and never had a scratch, but after some of the horror stories I've heard, I decided to put one on my iP4. Anyway, I don't have much a frame of reference as to how long these things last. Should I expect to buy a set twice a year/every two months? What has been your experience?

Resolved. Went to Genius Bar this morning to discuss yellow-screen issue.
The Genius looked at my iPhone (which is yellow), looked at my girlfriend's iPhone (which is okay). Brought both iPhones to the back office, came back within minutes, and said "compared both to my iPhone yours (the yellow one) obviously looks more yellow. I will compare yours with other display iPhone models, and we will give you a replacement if we still find yours too yellow."
So he brings me and goes to in-store display iPhones, and compares. Mine looks obviously more tinted and looks worn out. He admits my screen is defective, and goes on to give me a new replacement phone. Screen looks awesome, and it works very good.
My original phone (yellow one) serial number started with 868. My gf's iPhone starts with 888. And my new replacement iPhone starts with 878.
Now this is just my thoughts, but if other yellow phones are also serial batch 868, I believe it is the defective batch. Maybe not, but it is possible.

  • Defective IPAD replaced but what about my investment on the screen guard?

While I was all smiles for the no nonsense replacement of my defective IPAD with a new one, it left me wondering about my investment of INR 1500 on the screen guard of the previous one.
Now since the IPAD was defective and was replaced without any hassle, does it mean my other investment goes for waste?
    Regards,
    Saurav

This happened to myself a few years back when I had to get my iPod touch (1st gen) replaced under warranty. This was done at a nearby Apple Store and I brought up that I had an Invisible Shield screen protector on the device. These are impossible to remove and replace (using the same shield)  because of the adhesive used and stretchiness of the material. They didn't have that brand in the store but they did give me a complimentary one that they *did* have there. This was years ago when the iPod touch was first released so I don't know what their policy regarding instances like this are.
Sorry to say that if the screen guard issue was not mentioned to begin with and you no longer possess the defective iPad (it has already been turned in as defective), I really don't think that they will compensate or that there is much they can do about it...you can always try but without proof that you lost a screen guard in the exchange process, you are probably out of luck.

  • What's the best screen protector?

Any suggestions out there as to the best screen protector?

    LOLOLOL!
    OK. Let me try AGAIN.
I have no special ownership of the truth and may be wrong about this. However, I'm simply sharing my opinion that everything I've seen and read suggests that plastic screen protectors for the iPhone are a racket.
For one, you are putting something on a beautiful screen that makes it less beautiful. And why are you doing this? Presumably to protect it. The equation is make it less beautiful for the sake of added protection to keep it more beautiful but for when? For those brief moments when you take one protector off and put on another? But the protectors themselves are universally weaker than the screen itself so I wonder how protective they really are. How much is the compromised surface worth the "protection" (not to mention cost)? The screen is hard glass, the protectors are weak plastic. The end result is you have an iPhone with a scratchable plastic protector on it that makes it uglier instead of a clean flat hard beautiful glass surface.
It just makes no sense to me. Except that coming from a tradition of plastic screens on previous devices, perhaps there is a "legacy urge" to get a screen protector. Or maybe people just like putting plastic sheets on their glass iPhone.
Here's my experience. I have an iPhone and no plastic screen protector. I don't dote over the iPhone. I fling it around and stick it into various pockets. It has no scratches. I also enjoy the naked glass screen with no oogy plastic covering like grandma's slipcover over her couch that makes your thighs squeak whenever you sit on it.
If after years of use I get a scratch on the glass screen, that's less bad than years of plastic protectors and years of scratched use because the plastic protectors will of course get scratched multiple times. They're plastic.
At the same time, figure in an aggressive third party market that exploits opportunities to sell accessories - needed and un-needed. So if you discount the marketing and "legacy urge," why do I need this thing???
The Crystal Support screen protector is great...and it's fairly cheap as well. Unlike others that "get off" on trying to beat people down with their opinions...I'll simple tell you that it works for me. You might like to try it...then again...what do I know? I'm not gunna shove what works for me down your throat like others on this board.
    DD
If that makes you happy, great! I'm not shoving my opinion down anyone's throat, only sharing an opinion that may differ from yours. Let's say, for example, the question was "now that I've gotten an iphone, what kind of instant mashed potatoes should I smear all over it to protect it?" I would have the same response. I just don't get the appeal, although maybe there are people out there who feel more comfortable smearing instant mashed potatoes all over their phones.
The "Emperor's wearing no clothes" was only one person's opinion too, you know...

  • How should I go about replacing my ZAGG screen protector?

So I bought a ZAGG screen protector for my Playstation Vita at my local Best Buy yesterday. When I was told how much it would cost to have it installed on my device I decided to pass and install it myself. During the installation process I made a mistake and now it looks horrible. What should my first steps be? Should I order the replacement from ZAGG, then come in to my local Best Buy and get it installed? Or can I have the screen protector replaced in-store and have it installed then? Are there any other ways I could go about this? One other question, if I bought the device with a protection plan, would I still need to pay an installation fee for the device? Thanks in advanced and hope you can help.

    Hello JDKukis,
I'm sorry to hear that you ran into trouble with your ZAGG InvisibleShield installation. You ask a really great question though.
I recommend visiting Zagg's website to initiate a replacement claim. Once you have received your replacement shield, Geek Squad will be happy to install it for you (for a fee). I hope this helps!
Thank you for writing to us.

  • What is a good stylus for an iPad 2 with a screen protector?

I recently purchased an iPad 2 and I wanted to take notes on it with either the PenUltimate or Noteshelf apps but I have been reading reviews of many different stylus types but none that really talk about how the stylus perform with screen protectors on the iPad. I plan on purchasing either the ZAGG InvisibleShield anti-glare, anti smudge all-in-one  etc or the Targus brand... these screen protectors can be pretty thick sometimes so I was wondering if that will conflict with the rubber tip of a stylus.
    So my question comes to:
    1) Will a stylus work with a  screen protector on the iPad 2
    and
    2) What brands of stylus do you recommend that will?
I was looking at Alupen and the Wacom Bamboo stylus but like I said.. I am wondering if screen protectors make a difference.
Thank you to anyone who helps!!

Has anyone seen the JaJa Pressure Sensitive Stylus? Looks like it's shipping this summer. No wires, no bluetooth with 1024 sensitivity levels... looks amazing. http://www.jajastylus.com/
