  • What about support JavaScript?

    Wow!
Many thanks for this great App!
    I'm waiting for years!
So, my question is: what about java support?? sure, its dangerous! any doubts?
    thanks
    Michael
p.s. hope its the first step for flash on ipad/iphone!

I had gone through most of that tech note, but hadn't renamed
the configuration folder - sort of stopped after I couldn't
uninstall my extensions. So now I did unstall the extensions
(thanks for that tip!!), which didn't help; then renamed the the
configuration folder - and voila! it worked. I've done this before
for a similar problem, guess I should clean out all the old config
folders out there. Thanks for that. Shows me I must complete the
tasks given - just didn't quite believe that this was the problem
being addressed by the tech note.
    Thanks for the help!

  • Java Support Pack Stack - what about additional patches?

    Hi Guys,
I have applied Java SP stacks many times before so this is not a technical question as such.
We download the entire SP Stack and apply it via JSPM. But this only updates the system to that stack with patch level 0. For instance, if I apply SP Stack 3, then all the components will have SP3 patch 0. SAP releases bug fixes from time to time in the form of additional patch files like SP3 patch level 1, 2, 3, etc. for individual components but these are obviously not part of the downloaded stack but need to be downloaded separately for each component.
My question is, is it a good strategy to apply the entire stack as downloaded so this makes all the components to patch level 0 in that stack and then also download all of the latest patch files for each component within that SP level and apply all of them in the next run?
So I think this should fix all the bugs that SAP has fixed using these patch files so this would save us a lot of time which usually goes wasted in encountering the bugs, finding solutions and maybe even going to SAP just to find out that the latest patch files are released which already contain these fixes.
So, can someone tell me whether this is a good idea to do it this way? Or is there any downside to this?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Shitij Bagga

    Hi,
You can apply eaither ways there woun't any problem.
i mean you can apply directly patch with SP leve or apply the SP level with patch 0
When ever if we apply the patch for any SP level, it over write all the file with patch file
    Thanks,
    Sreeni.

  • What about support for CSS preprocessors?

I love that Adobe is making all of these advancements in areas of HTML / CSS / JS / etc. but CSS preprocessors are becoming the way to "do things" and this is where I cringe when I have to use Dreamweaver and now recently Edge Code. If Adobe is all about the future, why not start including support for CSS preprocessors (most noteably SASS and LESS)?

I think you would want to support both less and sass mainly because there are so many differnt opinions on what works best, I started out using less and then learned about sass and did a little research and decided sass had more to offer, but I Know there are sever folks who think less is easier to use,
I think your biggest problem is getting people to open up something new such as Edge Code and decide what will this offer me that I can't get elsewhere, for example before I got creative cloud, I started with dreamweaver way back in the early days, latter on when jquery started getting popular I couldn’t seam to get code hinting to work, and there where a few random folks offering a half-assed plugin that didn't always work and between that and not being able to pay for the updates for dreamweaver and other products I looked around and found Aptana which I still use today because so far It has never been unable to do what I need and its free, now that I have just recently started using CC which is freaking awsome Im thinking about giving dreamweaver another shot, in-fact I was downloading it when I noticed edge code and decided to try it, the first thinks that I thought was how am I going to use sass with this.
So that said I think to me the most annoying part of using sass is the setup which consists of the following steps, copy a folder I made and update on my local machine, which has all the basic structure such as css folder, js folder, an index that has the basic linking to folders and files then rename the folder change some of the basic things such as title and well the obvious things, then open terminal and do a sass —watch then carefully make sure I only point to the css folder I'm working in so I don't have the annoying delay you get if you point to a folder that has several projects in it, and then once its set up if I still have any ambitions to even work anymore I do my thing, so things I think would work great would be thus, and this is keeping in mind Im new to the edge products so some of this may already exist, I haven't spent allot of time in any of the apps,
What if not only could I just drag my preset work folder(s) into Edge Code and get going but maybe have it auto start a sass watch if it detects a .sass file.
I think code hinting and color are obvious needs.
Maybe a button that would create a project folder and include some pre determined files in the folder and link to them.
Maybe a option to work in sass mode.
Link files between the edge apps, really I could go on forever I am more of a visual person so I made a sample of what it might look like if I could create a picture with my words and I'm sure I'm leaving things out, I don't have allot of time to really explore this like I would like, over all I think the edge apps are looking really positive and I can't wait to see where they go, I hope this helps and let me know if I over looked things.

  • What about support for attachments?

I was excited to find the app in the store.
I routinely receive PDF files protected by password that contain attachments (HTML files) as the actual content.
Do you plan on adding attachment support?
This will spare me the requirement of using a computer to read these.
    Thanks,
    Liran

This is great that Adobe has develop a Reader for the iPhones and iPad. The Adobe Reader is very important in the Healthcare industry. Where I work, we use the encryption and attachment feature to comply with HIPAA regulations when communicating with our patients over email. It has been very (very very) frustrating for our patients that there was no Adobe Reader for the iPhone and iPad. So I am pleased that there is a reader that supports encryption, but I am disappointment that the ability to access the attachments in PDF was not included. Hopefully, this feature will be coming soon to the Adobe Reader for iOS.

  • What about support of 3D

    Hello,
It would be very usefull to see PDF 3D in Adobe Reader for iOS. Is it planned ?
    Thanks

Flash is out of the question.

  • What is Sun's answer about PCA  patch manager free tool ?

    Hi all,
this post aims on echoing customers'feedback.
from customers'experience it seems that smpatch from patch manager tool is suffering of a lack of reliability.
One of them moved to a new freeware called PCA-Patch Check Advanced
    http://www.par.univie.ac.at/solaris/pca/
From PCA Web Site we can read:
Sun has offered various tools in the past to analyze Sun/Solaris systems for patches which are installed or missing, e.g. PatchDiag, PatchCheck, PatchPro, smpatch (see the Sun Patch Portal for details). Some of them are not actively maintained, some are huge and opaque, some don't run on older Solaris releases or stripped-down machines. None of them really made me happy. Based on PatchCheck source I implemented PCA, which gets rid of the disadvantages of Sun's own tools.
I would like to know what is Sun's position and could it be possible to integrate such a tool ?
    Thanks.
    Malek.

    - Sun is always interested in customer feedback, and is interested in
the concerns expressed here.I'd also very muck like Sun to be interested in fixing the customers problems, which has not been done in my cases. No solution or explanation has been given to my many cases opened on smpatch, and this, even though in some cases, patches were made (months later): I was never told about them. Which makes me wonder about the point of having paid support contracts in the first place.
But since UM was developed by interns, it's no wonder there's trouble maintaining it (how do I know? I've been an intern doing Java development, and I made the exact same beginner's mistakes, not knowing to handle exceptions, leaving debug output on stdout, being unable to make proper localisation).
It's obviously not the work of experienced Java programmers. Hard to trust it...
    - We do understand that opaque is bad, but one of Sun's goals is to
provide complex analysis beyond matching patches with installed
packages. This analysis and its support processes will necessarily
be somewhat opaque. What analysis are you talking about? smpatch is not even able to tell me that security fixes are available for NSS, which has been part of Solaris for years. PCA does.
And what about Studio? Why can't smpatch tell me there are patches for that, too? And why aren't free patches, that are neither recommended nor security (such as the man patches) shown by smpatch when running without a contract?
    - We are interested in the concerns surrounding stripped-dow
systems, and are considering a "light" version of our tools that would
support minimal systems. However at this time there are no plans to
release a light version. And what about systems without a network?
And what about not forcing me to read and agreeing to a, abusive license agreement, which can't even be printed, nor shown full screen (5 lines at a time!)?
And, please, can you explain me why I should agree to respect Reuters so-called intellectual property? What does it have to do to with keeping my systems up to date reliably and easily? Is it a competition between Sun and Microsoft to put the most ludicrous licenses on line?
Anyway, I'm sure Solaris 11 will introduce some new bloated offspring of the PatchProManagerUpdateConnection family, so I'm not holding my breath. Rather than repeat this experience again and again, I'll stick with PCA.

  • Require official Oracle Best Practices about PSU patches

A customer complained about the following
Your company statements are not clear...
On your web page - http://www.oracle.com/security/critical-patch-update.html
    The following is stated!
    Critical Patch Update
Fixes for security vulnerabilities are released in quarterly Critical Patch Updates (CPU), on dates announced a year in advance and published on the Oracle Technology Network. The patches address significant security vulnerabilities and include other fixes that are prerequisites for the security fixes included in the CPU.
The major products patched are Oracle Database Server, Oracle Application Server, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Collaboration Suite, Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise Tools, PeopleSoft CRM, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, JD Edwards OneWorld XE, Oracle WebLogic Suite, Oracle Communications and Primavera Product Suite.
Oracle recommends that CPUs be the primary means of applying security fixes to all affected products as they are released more frequently than patch sets and new product releases.
    BENEFITS
    * Maximum Security—Vulnerabilities are addressed through the CPU in order of severity. This process ensures that the most critical security holes are patched first, resulting in a better security posture for the organization.
    * Lower Administration Costs—Patch updates are cumulative for many Oracle products. This ensures that the application of the latest CPU resolves all previously addressed vulnerabilities.
    * Simplified Patch Management—A fixed CPU schedule takes the guesswork out of patch management. The schedule is also designed to avoid typical "blackout dates" during which customers cannot typically alter their production environments.
    PROGRAM FEATURES
    * Cumulative versus one-off patches—The Oracle Database Server, Oracle Application Server, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle Collaboration Suite, Oracle Communications Suite and Oracle WebLogic Suite patches are cumulative; each Critical Patch Update contains the security fixes from all previous Critical Patch Updates. In practical terms, the latest Critical Patch Update is the only one that needs to be applied if you are solely using these products, as it contains all required fixes. Fixes for other products, including Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft Enterprise Tools, PeopleSoft CRM, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, and JD Edwards OneWorld XE are released as one-off patches, so it is necessary to refer to previous Critical Patch Update advisories to find all patches that may need to be applied.
    * Prioritizing security fixes—Oracle fixes significant security vulnerabilities in severity order, regardless of who found the issue—whether the issue was found by a customer, a third party security researcher or by Oracle.
    * Sequence of security fixes—Security vulnerabilities are first fixed in the current code line. This is the code being developed for a future major release of the product. The fixes are scheduled for inclusion in a future Critical Patch Update. However, fixes may be backported for inclusion in future patch sets or product releases that are released before their inclusion in a future Critical Patch Update.
    * Communication policy for security fixes—Each Critical Patch Update includes an advisory. This advisory lists the products affected by the Critical Patch Update and contains a risk matrix for each affected product.
    * Security alerts—Security alerts provide a notification designed to address a single bug or a small number of bugs. Security Alerts have been replaced by scheduled CPUs since January 2005. Unique or dangerous threats can still generate Security Alert email notifications through MetaLink and the Oracle Technology Network.
Nowhere in that statement is the Patch Set Update even mentioned. If Oracle intends to recommend to all customers that Patch Set Updates are the recommended means of Patching for Security and Functionality then it should be stated so here!
    Please clarify!
Where can I find the current information so that I can use to Official Oracle statement as a reference for my Enterprise Practices and Standards document? The individual patch package references you are giving me do not state Oracle recommended Best Practice, they only speak to the specific patch package they describe. These do not help me in making an Enterprise statement of Practices and Standards.
I need to close the process out to capture a window of availability for Practices and Standards approval.
Do we have any Best Practice document about PSU patches available for customers?

Do we What do you mean "we", Kemosabi?
have any Best Practice document about PSU patches available for customers? This is a very confusing posting, but overall it looks like you are under the impression that this forum is some kind of channel for communicating back to Oracle Crop anything that happens to be on your mind about their corporate web site and/or policies and practices. Please be advised that this forum is simply a platform provided BY Oracle Corp as a peer operated user support group. No one here is responsible for anything on any Oracle web site. • What about SPSS 16.0?

    Hy everyone,
I'm interested in upgrading to Snow Leopard, but I've seen that SPSS software version 17 won't work with Snow Leopard because it is in the "Software restricted from opening" list released by Apple (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3258). What about version 16 of SPSS? Will it work? Please respond if any of you has installed SPSS ver 16 on Snow Leopard and tested it. I do really need this software for my job and if it doesn't work i can't upgrade my Mac to SL.
    Thank You

    Hy everyone,
it seems correct that the workaround above doesn't function for the graphs, I applied it but the graph won't draw. I felt pretty disappointed (I DO NEED graphs).
Nevertheless, I found another guy on http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?s=9d1c6a09307347037f268707a8e8ea40&sh owtopic=183447&pid=1282675&mode=threaded&start=#entry1282675
that suggests to modify this file into SPSS.app (open the package to show its content):
    /Applications/SPSSInc/Statistics17/SPSSStatistics17.0.app/Contents/bin/jvmcfg.in i
So I acted in this way:
    1) applied the workaround above (downloaded the older version of java 1.5.0 and putted in /System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/
folder, opened the terminal and typed in the command line that you can find in the workaround, opened Java Preferences in Applications/Utilities and putted J2SE5.0 32bit at the first row): SPSS 16.0 now opening but still without graphs, then
    2) Restored "SPSS Inc." folder from my Time Machine backup (I selected a time point in which I didn't have Snow Leopard installed). I suppose that it is an "optional action" but I read somewhere that it could be useful (if the installation of SL hasn't changed nothing in SPSS You'll only lose a bit of time making it, conversely it maybe useful, I suppose...).
    3) Opened
    Applications/SPSSInc/Statistics17/SPSSStatistics17.0.app/Contents/bin/jvmcfg.ini
in a text editor (better if you make a backup of this file) and changed the line:
    jvmlibpath1=/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/CurrentJDK/Libraries/
    to
    jvmlibpath1=/System/Library/Frameworks/JavaVM.framework/Versions/1.5.0/Libraries/
    I saved the changes made.
Then I went in SPSS and...Graphs worked!!! (SPSS ver. 16).
The funny thing is that the guy that suggested this workaround had ver.17 and his workaround didn't function for him (because SPSS 17 is blacklisted by Apple), so its patch seems to work only on ver.16 and not on ver17.... :-D.
I'm sorry for him but very grateful: I don't have to reinstall the whole thing and I can use and read graphs.

"Can you put purchased DVD movies that you have on your ipod? "
No.  breaking the encryption in order to copy them illegal.

    Add them to itunes.

  • Hardware diagnostic shows me a problem about charging battery. What about it ?

    Hi.
I bought a MacBook Pro retina 13', mid 14. on last december, and after almost a month I did the hardware test of apple as the Technic support says, and this hardware test shows me a problem about charging battery, so, I wanna know what about it, is it normal ? or is it a battery problem or is it a problem about the Current adaptador ? Thank your for your answers.

Could be battery, could be adaptor, could be the computer itself.  You will have to take it in for testing.  Fortunately, you are still under warranty.

  • No reset option in about:support (firefox 32)

at about:support there is no option to reset firefox to it's default state. this option should be available in the upper right hand portion of the screen on this page.
When I restarted firefox in safe mode the only option on the dialog box was to start firefox in safe mode, there was no option to reset firefox. This option should be contained in said dialog box.
Is a deliberate change for firefox 32? Has my client has been altered in this respect? Is there another way to reset firefox to it's default state? If removal and re-instillation of my client becomes necessary, what will the easiest way to preserve my bookmarks be(is there an automatic feature or will I be manually copying them from my preferences folder)?

You only see the reset button on the "Help > Troubleshooting Information" page if you use the profile that is marked as Default=1 in the profiles.ini file.
If you do not have the "Reset" button then either use the Profile Manager to create a new profile or use the Profile Manager to start with the current default profile to get the Reset button in Firefox.
You can use the Profile Manager to create a new profile to check if your current profile is causing your problem.
    See "Creating a profile":
    *http://kb.mozillazine.org/Standard_diagnostic_-_Firefox#Profile_issues
If the new profile works then you can transfer files from a previously used profile to the new profile, but be cautious not to copy corrupted files to avoid carrying over problems.
