What about this battery life???!!!

Has anyone come up with an optional battery. Even with the Advanced Killer, my battery doesn't last an entire day. And I don't talk on the phone much at all for it to go dead like it does..Help!

The great one strikes again! I love my HTC extended battery. Not like we have tons if accessories to purchase with this phone. May as well enjoy life like me and not worry about battery life. I'm a heavy user on WiFi mostly. This battery will get my heavy use to the end of the day plus a pinch more. Just in time for Mr Phone to charge when I get my charge sleeping.

  • What is average battery life everyone is getting for the Zen Mic

I just got my Zen Micro last Thursday. I'm concern about the battery life. I haven't fully tested the battery yet, but I'm estimating that I will only get about 6-7 hours for it. The advertised time was suppose to be as much as 2 hours. Now I know that depends on your usage (e.g. volume, bitrate of the file, play mode, etc.). What are other people getting? Thanks.

My last test, I tried to be as natural as possible. That is: back light is on; shuffle mode is on; eq is on; volume is normal (at 4 to 6); I skip or go back to tracks; I fast foward; the contrast is at 50 percent; average bitrate (from 28 to 360); smart sound off; and other minor things that I can't remember. That test gave me only 7.5 hours.
I think that is pretty modest usage. Any average mp3 user would do the same thing. Yet, I only got 7.5 out of the possible 2. I don't like the sounds of that.
I'm running another test right now with the same conditions above, and I'll let you guys know what I get.

  • What happens to battery life if alarm is not shut down?

If the ipod alarm is set and you don't notice it, what happens to the ipod? Will alarm be quiet after a few minutes? Will alarm not stop?
what happens to battery life if alarm is not turned off?

Not odd...On Verizon if it is not set up, you will hear a recording that says "Im sorry, but the party you are trying to reach has a vm box that has not been set up yet". It will show as missed if the phone is on, and will appear in the log if the phone is on. If the phone is powered off, the call does not show in the log when turned back on. It will appear as if it never happened. You will only know if you get a VM (if its set up) or if the person tells you, hey I called you!

  • Ten days away: what about the battery?

    Hi,
I'm going to leave for ten (10) days, not bringing my iBook with me. It will stay OFF for all that time. What about the battery? Is it going to get stale? How much shoud I charge it before I leave?
Right now I'm really proud of it: full charge = 6:30 hours!!!!
    Thanks,
    Stefano.

    Stefano -
I'd say ten days would be OK without having to do anything special, here are a few links that talk about battery storage and other battery related information.

  • What can I do about my battery life?

Ok so I know that my iphone is really old. I bought it in 2009 and it has been a really good phone until about 6 months ago when the battery life went downhill. My phone will not hold a charge for more than 5 min. I will let it charge for a few hours and the battery will be full but when I take it off the charger, it takes 5 min for the phone to die. What can I do about this? I've tried restoring it to factory settings and that hasn't worked.

The battery is shot.Lithium batterys have a limited number of recharge cycles. Yours is shot. You would have to have it replaced.I personally don't think it would be worth the cost to replace it on a 3g,especially since you can get the 3gs for free with a new contract.

  • What's with this battery life...?

    My current setup:
    3G enabled
    Wifi enabled
    Push disabled
    Bluetooth disabled
    My day started at 7.
I've made 3 phone calls that were all less than 5 minutes.
I've played games for a total of MAYBE 15 minutes (Aurora Feint and Trism).
    I've checked my email twice.
I've entered two transactions into the "Day Bank" app (takes about 10 seconds).
I get a mixture of EDGE and 3G. About 50/50.
The phone has been ON a total of maybe an hour the whole day.
By 2pm I had less than (it looked like) 40% of my battery life left. Can I expect this thing to be THIS bad forever? I know apple over-states their battery life stuff ridiculously all the time, but this is beyond ridiculous. At this rate I literally can't even make it through a SINGLE day on a charge. SOMETHING has got to give here...

I have great battery life with my iPhone 3G. Here's why.
I have push Enabled, and that's about it. I only turn 3G, WiFi, and Bluetooth on when I need them. (When I'm in my car and need handsfree, when I'm out and about with no wifi readily available and need to use 3G, or when I'm at home and need to check my email, I'll turn on WiFi).
When I'm not using 3G, WiFi, or Bluetooth, I immediately turn them off.
There's no reason to have those things on if you're not regularly using them, they do consume massive amounts of power, which is why 3G wasn't included in the first generation iPhone.
Gas, electricity, and your iPhone battery all require CONSERVATION, CONSERVATION, CONSERVATION!

  • T500 users, what's your battery life?

    Here's my specs:
    T500 2.4ghz w/ 4gb ram, purchased october 09
    Battery: 9-cell
    Graphics: "energy saving" mode
Life:  only  2.5 hours battery life, three if I'm lucky.
Usage: just have about 10 tabs open on chrome, no flash or anything
What are you guys getting? Other reviews claimed people getting about six hours. I did the battery gauge reset earlier today, it calculated a max of a little less than three hours as well.
My friend's t400 2.2ghz (with 9-cell) seemed to last for six hours easily, possibly more than that.

I ended up stumbling upon this thread ( http://forums.lenovo.com/t5/Windows-7-Discussion/Battery-Life-Decrease-In-Windows-7/td-p/168772/page... )and have the same symptoms of the fan constantly running among other things.
I'm updating power manager to see if it'll fix things, otherwise I'm getting tempted to cave and buy something else.

  • Is this battery life good?

I just got a MacBook for the first time and have been hearing so much about battery life. My battery info is as follows:
    Charge Information:
    Charge remaining (mAh): 2481
    Fully charged: No
    Charging: No
    Full charge capacity (mAh): 5198
    Health Information:
    Cycle count: 4
    Battery health: Good
    Battery Installed: Yes
    Amperage (mA): -1441
    Voltage (mV): 11265
This is my second day having this laptop; Is this good. Also what is cycle count and how long does the battery normally last?

It is OK to leave your battery hooked to the charger most of the time. The only time I unhook mine from the charger is when I calibrate. Have you calibrated your batteryyet. You should calibrate every two months or so to keep the battery fully functioning. If you use your MacBook infrequently, it’s best to re-calibrate the battery at least once a month.
The cycle count is how many times your battery has been discharged completely and charged. 4 times in a two days is a lot. You don't have to run the battery flat every time you use the battery. Just use it and then plug it in when you get through. Lithium Ion batteries prefer little charges over big ones. Apple states their batteries should hold 80% at 300 cycles. If you have 2 cycles a day you will reach that point in 150 days. I have 13 cycles and have had this battery about 4 months. If you have to use your battery every time till it goes flat you will have to replace it more often. Don't use the battery unless you have to and you will get longer use out of your battery.

  • What is your battery life?

    After full charge, it says
    Usage: ~5hrs
    Standy By: ~1Day
    until the battery dies.
Notes: Wifi is on all the time and mostly used for Safari. Couple of calls a day. Sometimes randomly turning it on to look at the clock or just look at the menu.
Is this about right? What is your stats?

someone mentioned that the iphone will notify you at 20% and 10%. my phone doesn't do that actually I have noticed that my batter will only go down a little more than half then all of the sudden it will display the red battery saying the battery is completely drained and I can turn on the phone. My battery life is great but this really frustrates me since i can't really tell when to charge my phone. any solutions? (im using version 1.1.2)

  • What about the battery?

    Good afternoon
Well I got my Macbook Pro 15 "2.2 GHz with 4 days of use. When pulled out of the box had 6 hours of battery still left to finish the battery without the Power. ever since then I have more than 3 hours maximum battery life. What will happen? Sorry for my poor English

3 hours is normal battery life. But battery life is also dependant on use.

  • What should the battery life on my 13" Macbook air be?

I have a 13" macbook air (mid 2012) and the battery life is around 2.5 to 3 hours.  I know after a while the strength of the battery diminishes but should i only be getting about 2.5 hours?  I am still under apple care till 2015 should I have apple look at it and repair/replace battery?  I know on the newer 13" models the battery is 12 hours (new processor and chips) but still shouldn't my battery last longer than 2.5 hours?

It should get a great dea; ,pre tjam 2 1/2 hours. First a question. Is this the actual amount of time you are getting or is it the estimate provided by the battery menulette icon? The estimate is often very wrong.
But assuming this is actual battery life, the first thing to do is run the Activity monitor, click on the CPU tab, and then click on the % CPU column so the little triangle is pointing down. This will give you a list of all the processes your computer is running and at the top of the list you'll see the ones that are taking up the most power. Also, if your Dock is hidden, temporarily unhide it. Now click and hold the mouse button on the Activity Monitor icon in the Dock. You'll get a little menu. Select Dock iCon and then CPU Usage. This icon will give you blue bars for each CPU core. Lots of blue means high CPU usage and lots of grey means low CPU usage.
As you use your computer keep an eye on the AM icon. If your battery problem is due to high CPU usage you'll see the bars in the AM icon showing lots of blue frequently. It may be due to the program(s) you are using. For example, VMWare and Windows 8 are battery killers. So are 3D games. But if you are word processing, checking email, etc you shouldn't see more than a glimmer of blue most of the time.
If it turns out you don't have high CPU useage the problem could be the battery and that means a trip to the Apple store.

  • To MBA 2013 i5 users: What is the battery life?

    Hey guys,
there are some hot discussions over battery life in MBA 2013 with i7. I personally own one and I can say that 12 hours is nothing close to the truth. Battery life can reach that long when WiFi is turned off, but web browsing is the most basic activity on a computer these days. My MBA gets around 7 hours of battery life when using Internet connection and I feel cheated by Apple.
I'm thinking of exchanging my model to i5 one, but haven't out whether battery life is significantly better or it's same kind of gimmick.

several reports indicate (from reputable testing sites) that 12 hours on the I5 13" are understated, and that 2 hardcore tests indicated just under 13 HOURS, or a hair OVER 13 hours
I have an I5 13", and I dont say with difficulty that batt. life is, in short, crazy / shockinginly fantastic.
My older 2011 Macbook Air i just sold, ......it literally blows my old AIR out of the water powerwise, and writing 1.1GIG Photoshop to the HD, was id say about 40% faster from full install between the 2. (old and new).
I run nonstop youtube (white noise) in the background.....(on firefox, which is a battery hog compared to Safari), and typing, and opening PDF files.........under those conditions, im getting about nearly 12 hours batt. life,  of the 2 times ive actually clocked it.
Ive compared my I5 next to my friend Stefans I7 13", i did same same testing for 5 hours, and his was 28% LESS batt life

  • Hey What About This Idea

I tried to find an earlier post about this, and I didn't see anything. I apologize if it has already been discussed.
How about a "Tab in Tab" browsing feature being added. In other words, having the ability to view two (or more) tabs at once. It comes up for me all the time. I am browsing on one tab, and I am waiting for something to happen in another. It would be great to me if I could see a small version of the one tab while I was browsing for other things in the other tab.
    Thoughts?

    Ahh! But I don't want a thumbnail. I want a live page.
i.e. I play chess online. I can do a search for another player that can sometimes take some time. While I am waiting it would be nice to be able to browse in another tab, but currently if I am viewing another tab, I have no idea what is happening in the first tab.
Or suppose I am waiting for a file to finish downloading, or a movie to start playing, etc.

    Morning Alex,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For troubleshooting on this, take a look at this article:
iPhone: Sound muffled or low from the speaker or when speaking into the mic.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1631
    Resolution
    Check the following:
Check the volume setting on your iPhone. You can adjust the volume by pressing the volume up and down buttons on the left side of the iPhone.
If you are using a third-party iPhone case, make sure it is not covering the speaker, microphone, or top microphone. Try making some calls without the case to see if a caller can now hear you more clearly or play music to see if the speaker's volume is better.
If you have not removed the plastic display film used for protection during shipment, either ensure that the microphone and speaker are not covered or remove the film completely.
Check that the speaker, microphone mesh covers, and top microphone hole are not clogged with lint or other debris.
If the speaker, microphone mesh, or top microphone (iPhone 4 only) appear clogged, please use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to clean them. To do this follow these instructions:
Use the brush to carefully and gently brush the speaker and microphone mesh.
Brush away from the 30-pin dock connector to avoid getting any debris into the dock connector.
    Hope this helps,
    Mario
