WHAT? Adobe FLash Player Security

I am building a photography web site with flash and I found a really cool slide show extension plug in (www.slideshowpro.com) were can easily upload and update my portfolio slide shows.
when I publish out to HTML, I test it in a browser and I get this warning when I click on the photography page
I read in adoby help and it said flash developers can allow communication between sites with this AS code
Security.allowInsecureDomain("nathan44.slideshowpro.com");
so I added this code to my actions layer on the firs frame in "scene 1" and to the actions layer in the photography section. But nothing changed i still get this warning when ever I publish out to an HTML, when I just preview with control + enter i can view the sideshows fine
maybe I'm not putting the right code in the right places?
Should I attach the flash document?

This is another "what were they thinking?" implementation.
The settings manager is fairly un-intuitive.
Do as Ned Says.
click edit location
add location
Then EITHER
     > browse for files
     > select your swf
OR
     >where you see:
     >Tip: The application that recently tried to communicate with the Internet is:
       somefolder/somefolder/someswf.swf
you can just  copy / paste that path into the trust this location field on top of the settings manager
> click confirm
It is frustrating because most people see the path to their swf initially and then say "yeah that's the one!" > confirm.
You have to make sure the path to the swf / folder is in the trust this location field
You sometimes have to close all browsers and even flash in order for the settings to take hold.
slideshow pro is awesome especially with slideshow director, have fun!

  • Mac Safari "Adobe Flash Player Security" issue

Using Captivate 5.5 for Mac. I've been having sporadic problems viewing my published .htm files in Safari. I always get the "Adobe Flash Player Security" popup on initial load, but before today I could usually just click OK and refresh the browser window to play the Flash content. Today I can no longer view the content in Safari. (Firefox plays the content fine.)
The popup says "To let this application comminicate with the Internet, click "Settings". When I click Settings, my Mac OS Flash preference dialog opens. But the only options available are "Local Storage Settings", "Camera and Mic", "Playback" (which pertains to peer-assisted networking, not local playback), and "Advanced" (which only allows you to delete local files). Just for experimentation, I tried adding my local path as an allowed site in "Local Storage Settings" but it doesn't have any effect.
I don't have any other problems using regular Flash-based websites in Safari. Only my published Captivate files spawn this security popup.
    How do I fix this?

It worked! Thank you. (Actually, I used the related URL for "Global security settings for content creators" (http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager04a.ht ml#119065) since that URL is intended for local development/testing, whereas the link you provided is for sites on the Web.)
But I'm curious. . .  according to Adobe (http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager.html), "Beginning with Flash Player 10.3, the Local Settings Manager supersedes this Online Settings Manager for managing global settings on Windows, Mac, and Linux computers." Yet the page goes on to explain when one would use the online Global Settings. This is very confusing. If the local Settings Manager supercedes the online manager, why would the online manager still be required for certain uses? And why isn't a link to the Global Settings manager provided within the local Settings manager. What am I not understanding?

  • Adobe flash player security blocking

The adobe flash player security  is blocking mail with the message /about/srcdoc is trying to communicate with this interner-enabled location  static.adsafeprotected.com
How do I get rid of this?

    IanGCou wrote:
How much of a risk is it unblocking?
If you select a single site to allow, not much, as long as it's a trusted site and you're careful about what you open there (in this case it being mail, you need to use your own discretion). If you set Flash Player to allow ALL sites, then you may be opening yourself up to anything from spyware to outright viruses.

  • Adobe Flash Player Security on Mac OSX 10.8.5

Hello, I need some help. I keep getting an Adobe Flash Player Security warning every time I try to load Pandora on my Mac. I not sure if this is some form of spyware. I've tried to research it online but I can't find anything with this specific error message. Also I've run a few antivirus/spyware programs, but turned up with nothing. I've never come across it before when using Pandora in the past, so I know it's something out of the ordinary.
Thank you all very much for the assistance.

There's a local file "/about/srcdoc" (I'd imagine it's in the Muse-Pandora folder) that's attempting to connect to the Internet. This is a "safety feature" built into Flash Player to prevent malicious files from connecting and downloading a virus. Why they have that for Mac OS I do-not-even-pretend-to-know, but it's there.
Open your System Preferences and the Flash Player pref pane
Click the "Advanced" tab in the Flash Player Settings Manager window
Scroll down to Developer Toos and click "Trusted Location Settings...:
    Click "Add Folder..."
Select the Muse-Pandora folder in your Applications folder
    Confirm
Close the Manager and retry it.

  • Adobe Flash Player Security pop up during installation.

Hello, I recently purchased a macbook this week. My first apple computer. I was downloading and installing a widget, astroids, through apples website and after installation I noticed a dialogue box appeared. It said "Adobe Flash Player Security" as the title and then it showed where the downloaded file was located. I looked in the folder where it said it should be located but nothing was in that folder. I couldn't close the message box, it just stayed their with my mouse pointer doing a circular pattern. I eventually restarted my computer because I didn't know how to get rid of it. My question is should this be something I should be be worried about? Is everything ok with my macbook? Sorry if this sounds silly, I am new to owning an apple computer and trying to get familiar with it. Thank You.

  • Adobe Flash Player Security Updates after Windows XP End of Support

    Hi,
I have to check up for our customer, whether there will be any Security Updates for Adobe Flash Player on Windows XP after End of Support next year.
Haven't found any information on the web :-(
    Thanks in advance,
    Nicolai

I don't know, and like you, haven't seen anything.
    Here's what I do know.
Android dropped ALL support for Flash Playe June 2012 and Adobe continued to develop and release security updates for the older Android Flash Player versions up till September 10 of this year.
Support for Linux ended with version 11.2, but security fixes for Linux Flash Player are still being developed and released.
Given the still-widespread use of XP in schools and corporate environments, I'd have to say that support (at least security updates) will go on for a while after next June14 when Microsoft officially "sunsets" XP. How long that will be is not info I have.

  • What adobe flash player to use for ps3

ps3 has adobe flash player but it says i have to reset when i do it don't work . what to do.

It has not helped at all.
And I tried that before whenever I had to revert to the FP 10.3 version 6 months ago for just Hulu and netflix.  It didn't help much there either way.
And before the problem cropped up originally everything was fine.
Although, then, I had removed Google Earth and Google Chrome  because they seemed to influence the viewing a bit.
I have now readded Google Chrome as a secondary browser but it hasn't changed anything as far as the videos go.
I have now also upgraded to the latest Flash Player but I still have the same problems.
I can only view the Comcast movies and series in  the lowest resolution and speeds and only can use the Normal screen at that, not the Full screen mode.  And Comcast requires at least FP 11.1 to be used.
The movies are jerky, sometimes completely freezing up and the audio and video are almost always out of sync (again).
Short of replacing the graphics card, no one has come up with an answer.
I am sure a lot of people have older graphics cards in their system and have no problems with their video.
But I'm sure that I am not the only one that has this problem either.

  • What Adobe Flash Player Do I Download to the iPhone?

When I go to certain websites using safari on my iPhone, it directs me to download the Adobe Flash Player. There are two options for Mac OS X. I can either use Option 1: Intel Based Macs or Option 2: PowerPc Based Macs. Is this even right? Do I need a flash player? Is Mac OS X the same as Safari. I'm not familiar with Apple/Macs operating systems. Please enlighted me! Thanks.

  • Adobe flash player security problem

    Hello bodies
I have problems with ExternalInterface and navigateToURL,
How can I avoid flash player to show this box?
when I've already enabled this setting
Also I've checked some flash banners and disabled options above for test and they worked fine anyway
I want to make my script work even if users has disabled those options above.
I don't want when using ExternalInterface flash player to throw these alerts also
    Please Help

For you to override that securioty alert you need to add the location to that second interface you showed.  So you could add the "C:\Documents and Settings\George\Desktop" to that lcurrently empty list.
That security applies to local file usage.  So if you have this file deployed on the internet, people should not have the issue you are having.

  • What Adobe flash player version do I need for os x 10.3.9?

I tried to install the new flash player 10 but they don't tell you you need os x 10.4 or better. So I deleted it. But then both Safari and Firefox started rainbow wheeling and freezing up every time it started to load a flash app from a web-site. So I uninstalled flash with the uninstaller they recommend, and then tried to find my old version to download, I figured it was 9, and after downloading the flash player "disk", I clicked it and the file shows some kind of .xpt file that I can't open or don't know what to do with, and an icon that says Flash Player.plugin that is transparent and I don't know how to add it to my browsers, it won't do it automatically. Please someone tell me they know what the problem is. This is the first time I have posted a question here.
When my kid finds out she can't play her webkinz she's gonna kill me.

Okay, that got the WebKinz site working again, so I guess it's been installed properly. I just don't know why both Safari and Firefox are still freezing up on web-sites I used to be able to watch no problem, like PGA tour shotracker, and sportsnet.ca. Guess I'll just have to wait until I can afford the os upgrade. Don't know whether I should wait until Snowleapord comes out. I'm quite dissapointed in how fast my os x 10.3 became obsolete after I bought my computer, but I guess I'll have to get used to it.
