What after reinstall?

After a crash, I reinstall i-life. now I can't open my own website and I have to update! who knows what to do?

Your iWeb website is contained in your domain.sites
file which lives here:
User/Library/Application Support/iWeb/domain.sites.
If this is where you kept your domain file then I
would hope that it would open after a re-install, but
I suspect that it may not.
I think that iWeb will create a new domain file and
overwrite your old one
Check the above folder and see if you have a domain
file in there, then double click on it and iWeb
should launch.
If you have already launched iWeb then your original
file may have already been overwritten. If this is
the case then I am sorry to say that you need to
rebuilt your site, if it is still accessible to you
via the www, then you can copy/paste images and text
from your old site to your new site.

Can't use time machine due to corruptness even after reinstalling snow lepoard how to fix?

Yes, someone stole my original apple id in 2009. Now i bought another iphone in late 2012 , Created another apple id due to Apple not being able to help me access my original apple id. Which now since 2 months ago someone or company, or bank stole my second apple id. My iphone 4s with Sprint has no celluar connection supossedly due to no internet that is what sprint said but I looked it up on apple and it stated that there is a cellluar block on my iphone4s.
So I guess I will have to go in person to Sprint so they can explain that to me and why I was lied to on the phone earlier. Back to my 2nd stolen apple id that I registered my macbook,airport express router, and iphone4s and apple TV. So who ever stole this apple id obviously took over all my mac products I had registered to it. Enough about that back to trying to use time machine....Everytime i do, my macbook just starts acting all screwed up. I bought a WD external drive for Mac but I believe someone must have claimed it too. Since there is 75gb on it that I can't access. Kind of like my Macbook stating I can't save or have access to the Root . That is another thing after reinstalling snow lepoard which works great until I update it. Which is a problem because everytime I update it to 10.6.8 All the permissions are changed the graphics look horrible and I get redirected so bad its not funny. The email account is a joke. Also I notice my stationary for email is in Spanish not sure why and on Iworks the document samples are also in spanish. Now I dont speak any other language except ENGLISH AND HAVE LIVED IN UNITEDSTATES MY ENTIRE LIFE. But my internet provider Fibrant which swears they are local shows it is in the UK also when i try to access my email for that account it states it is not safe , certificate is expired and someone might be trying to impersonate my server. Needless to say it is getting old. I had this same problem with Timewarner and Att except att would just remove my ethernet driver then laugh when i would call and ask what the problem was. Then later I find out when I had DSL that somehow the phone number they had listed was change to being a digit off from my DSL account which again they laughed and thought it was funny. Enough about that. I need to know how to get access to my Apple id. I gave up on the first one but the second one I did have access to until I registered all my apple products. What is up with every thing I have with a usb port being corrupt. I have also notice anywhere in town where I live my phone is English until I come home it is arabic,hebrew , spanish any language except English. Shouldn't I be safer in my home??????????????? But I am not I am safer in town or anywhere but my home. EVerything states international in my home and this has been going on since 2009.....No one can tell me why. My power from Duke reads that OTHER Is costing me the most $$ every month what ????? This is a joke. But yet no one can tell me why or how to fix the problem. Going on 5 years , I have been cut off from everyone I know. Can't keep contacts on a phone or email accts. They all disappear. Back to my iphone 4s problem. My icloud email account gets alot of spam starting about 2 months ago and I can't stop it. I try to foward it to Spam @ me but it hasn't helped.My iphone can only connect to the internet with wifi. Sprint swears that there is not a block but according to apple there is.

I try to buy brand new pcs but soon as I start them up something had already taken over. This is with nothing electronic in my home on. Turn everything that a power switch off or unplugged it. Still I lost rights and access to anything in my home. Now if I am away from my home and try to use one of my laptops they look completely different and almost usable. Unfortunately I can't afford to move. I thought about it but I am still in bankruptcy and don't have the money. In the last 4 years I have not been able to reinstall in backups that I have created. Not sure why oh wait it states I have no rights to do that. My macbook I lost access to a week after I bought it and connected my iphone too. You don't know how many times I wish I had never backed my iphone 4s to my Macbook. Right after I could not log into it. Even used the disk to reset the password nope still couldn't log into it. Try to type the formula for resetting the password and nope it didn't work either.
Any suggestions would be appreciated---Need to gain access to my apple Id that would be a great start

Troubleshooting after reinstalling the software that came with my macbook

Hi, I'm a new user of mac products and my macbook crashed refusing to start up (it would just turn on and keep loading till froze).
I followed exactly the steps "Problem meet solution" in the little manual and had to use the Mac OS X Install Disk 1.
The disk utility repaired the HD volume (error found: incorrect block count for file flatfile.db - should have been 708 instead of 354), then still couldn't start up on HD. Did it all over again, repaired HD again (this time error: incorrect block count for file .store.db - should have been 5202 instead of 2601), but this time went further selecting "continue" and reinstalling Mac OS X from the discs that came with my macbook. Reinstalled - successfully finally - by chosing the option "previous settings archived in new file".
The only problem i had was at login ... it would not recognize my user password... which was the same one since i first turn on my new bought macbook. Anyways, i used again the disc 1, selected change my password and this time i managed to sign in with the new one (same old user).
1)NOW, question: do i have to re-update my software? Because before I had Mac OS X 10.5.2 (i always kept my computer up to date) and now, after reinstalling the software I have Mac OS X 10.5
or i should be able to reactivate them from the Previous Systems file (in this case how do i do that?
2) Can't figure still out my master password that unlocks the file vault plus i can't activate again the root admin user from Directory Utility ... i click it but doesn't do anything. Why is this and how can be sorted out?

1) yes, i will take all the updates. and ok, i won't touch the previous systems file
2) in regards to master password ... i tried all the passwords i ever used. not sure it's just "forgetting". Reason: as I mentioned before: The only problem i had after reinstalling the software was at login ... it would not recognize my user password... (and I add, nor the master password) which was the same one since i first turn on my new bought macbook.
As i couldn't sign in, used again the disc 1 to reset my administrator password and it did save but with the notice that i should "use the keychain access to reset the password for users login" .This time i managed to sign in with the new one (same old user). Then I went to the keychain clicked login and changed the password for keychain login. Did i do good? do I have to change something else. please let me know as don't really know.... i just follow help advice.
3)in regards to root password ... i had it also before ... using help on "security" issue ... as i connect to different networks ... i read that one could help ... please understand that i'm learning as i go, as this time i don't have someone else to do those things for me. so why doesn't it activate anymore? and why would it be better not to activate it?
4)speaking of learning, from my initial post where i posted the errors that my disk utility found ... what do u think caused my computer to freeze? i was browsing on safari facebook as well as I had both yahoo messenger and skype opened... first the messenger froze, then crushed, then i restarted it , then froze, then all the rest froze, without responding to force quit.
5) after reinstalling the software, i still have yahoo messenger and other applications.... is that safe to use now? they are still in my applications
and last 6) did I do everything correct when my computer would not start up?

after reinstalling mac os x 10.8 from internet recovery, mac restarts itself which is normal.
but when it starts there is a question mark on a folder symbol on the gray screen.
what should i do?

The question mark appears when your computer can't find any bootable volume to start. This can be because of two reasons:
1. Your computer has forgotten the startup device.
2. The hard drive is damaged.
First of all, turn off your computer and turn it on again holding the Option (Alt) key, so you will see all the bootable volumes on the display. Choose the OS X volume and set up OS X as normal. Finally, open System Preferences > Startup Disk, and choose your OS X volume

Game center doesn't update leaderboard scores after reinstaling apps

I had few games with some nice achievements and scores.
I have deleted my games from my iPhone.
After some time Ive decided to instal some of them again.
My achievements and best scores were automatically imported into Game Center and the games.
It was cool and it was what I've expected.
The problem is i.e. when I play minigore and get some nice points the leaderboard doesn't update. There are my old scores but none of them are appearing after reinstalling the game.
Simply I still see some great scores in ALL but TODAY and THIS WEEK just doesnt show my new scores even when it's high.
Other game doesn't connect to game center at all. It shows WELCOME AGAIN QAYIN but doesn't update nor scores nighter achievements.
Does anyone has similar problem?
Any solutions either simply wait till update cause it is a bug?

I also tried to bypass the Mac firmware password by taking one Ram card out and reboot the macmini while holding COMMAND+OPTION+P+R. But no luck. The macmini is not able to see the mac OSX installation CD.
Please help ??

How and where did you change which permissions? And what was the goal?
Do you have a complete backup of your system? and more importantly data files?
What happened that prompted the need to reinstall the 10.6.8 update?
The immediate road forward would be to boot from the optical drive and revert the changes you made.
What happens when you boot with the install cd and hold down C or hold down the option key?

What "new system" did you reinstall?
Are you upgrading from Leopard to Snow Leopard?
Or did you reinstall Leopard? If so, why and how (that may provide a clue)?
How is your Mac connected to the Time Capsule (use Ethernet for best results)?
You may need to repair the backups, per #A5 in Time Machine - Troubleshooting.

IPhoto Library won't load after reinstalling Mac OSX

I have reinstalled mac i was having some problems and i am a newbie in mac so i tought a clean install would be good at that point
After reinstalling i had my user folder backed up i moved the files back to their original place, and organized everything because it was messy, and then started a timemachine backup on an external drive
so in short:
i reinstalled mac
restored my iPhoto Library to the Pictures folder
Updated everything to the latest version ( since the photo library was created with the latest version )
when i tried to open iphoto it stayed reloading for an hour then i gave up and searched online
my pictures are all there i can copy them and start a new library but that is not what i want
i want my events as i sorted them i want my faces as i sorted them i spent a lot of time making these pictures as they were
please help
Things i already tried:
vacuuming the *.db sqlite files
removing the faces.db so that if the faces are the problem i would know
tried removing all *.db files
tried to import my photos to a new library but that is not what i want
right now i have 2 libraries, a new one wih ****** event names
and the old one that is corrupt

Using your original library try the following: make a temporary, duplicate copy of the library and try the three fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
Delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding the the Option key. You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.
Fix #2
Launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library.
Select the options identified in the screenshot.
Fix #3
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments but not books, calendars or slideshows. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

I reinstalled arch on my netbook at the same time and there's everything working fine (even with the same wireless-card). The only difference between the two systems is that my laptop has an i686 installation while on my netbook I've installed x86_64.
Things I've tried:
+ Update the system via wired-connection (mirrors.kernel.org) --> the download never gets faster than 10KB/s (?).
+ Configure the wireless interface via netcfg --> same problem
+ Reinstalled again and only changed LOCALE in /etc/rc.conf --> same problem
So you may see, I have no idea what I could be doing wrong and hope that theres anybody out there who knows what to do!
P.S. Well, i have now by-passed my problem.
1.) Created a list of packages installed during system-update on my netbook.
2.) In this list I changed package-name-x86_64.tar.gz to package-name-i686.tar.gz
3.) Downloaded the list with wget.
4.) Ccopied the packages to my laptop
5.) Created a local repository and made a system-update.

This might seem stupid but are you sure you are using "eth0" and not "eth1" etc.? As an example I have two on-board lans and I'm plugged into eth1. I had to change rc.conf as it defaults to using eth0.

Since I am using eth1 and not eth0 here is what I get when I try:

I'm not saying this is the case but it could be something as simple as that.
ifconfig -a
should show you how many lans you have.
Thought I would drop the obvious first in case that's all it is.

With PremPro CS3, after reinstalling to correct an error, cannot launch

I have been using PremPro-CS3 for nearly a year when I bevan to run into several problems of incomplete rendering, not recognizing capture sources, and workspaces being no longer available. I decided to re-install (or repair) through Adobe's application, and then I could not re-launch CS3 because an error message came up saying the license has expired and to contact my IT Administrator. What's going on here, as I need to get back into CS3 immediately.

Ah, - interesting that you consider the Preferences file is not removed in the uninstall process. Because if a new install is actually NEW, where do the Preferences get their previous information to relaunch corrupted ?
Because, for example, I noted immediately after reinstall, all previous "Presets" in the project were returned to original defaults, so I must redo those manually. Are not the Presets part of the Preferences file ?
Also strangely, if a new install is really new, why does the process not ask to insert a Serial Number ?

Go to Creative Cloud App and set in the Preferences, Language of the App to English.
Re-install.
I know there is a simpler way by changing a file extention in the root. But I dont know which file and what extention to change to.
I have seen this for Photoshop.

IPhoto missing after reinstalling leopard

After reinstalling Leopard on my new macBook, iPhoto is missing from the Applications. Has anyone any ideas how to solve this? I can't find the individual install for iPhoto either on the install disks.

Well, security for one. I would never, never, never use a pre-owned Mac without completely erasing and reinstalling everything from scratch. Who knows what hacks, security holes, pirated software, or other junk may have been left on it by its previous owner. We already know that the seller included a stolen copy of Leopard. Maya would be doing everything right by buying a fresh copy of Leopard and reinstalling.
And if iphoto is going to be missing, could I install it from the Tiger disk that came with my desktop?
System Restore Disks are particular to the model they come with. Also, it's a breach of the licence.
That's wrong. Software on a system restore disc may be transferred to a different Mac as long as the software is no longer installed on the first Mac. And while some have reported difficulty getting OS X to install on a different model, I think it's likely that the iLife apps will work.
If Maya has no system restore CDs for her iBook at all, she should contact the seller and demand them. If the seller told Maya that Leopard or any other Apple software is included, and then included no install discs, the seller defrauded Maya.

The Adobe chat gave me a link to download cs3, after reinstalling OSX Lion for a problem on my macbook pro. But the link give an error, they sayd maybe because on the same disk was already installed the same cs3?

While CS3 is said to run under Lion, it's likely to run poorly compared to CS6. Any link they gave you should have been valid. You could have installation problems after a successful download. You could try running the installer in the Utilities folder and first removing what is left of your previous installation.

Hi, after reinstalling Photoshop PS6 I cannot any longer save smart collections in Bridge. I create a smart collection by entering criteria, but when I click on SAVE, it is not saved. In my old installation (before I had to install a new hard disk), that never was a problem.
I am using Windows 7. Before, I used a hrad disk for the system, now I have a SSD, plus seveal hard disks for data storage.
Can anybody help me with advice what the problem is?
