What all is transferred with one to one?

I am going to be buying a MacBook Pro in the next week. But I can't decide if I want to purchase one to one. Last year I had to purchase a book for one of my classes (that I have to use this upcoming year as well) that is on a CD and says it can only be installed on one computer. It is currently installed on my HP. Is there a way to move that from my HP to my new laptop? I really don't want to have to carry around two laptops for a semester. Thank you for any help!

If your previous computer was a windows machine and the cd is only for windows machines you cant install it directly on your Mac, but you can install Windows and continue to use the cd.

BootCamp (on your mac)
or
Virtualization software eg: Fusion, Parallels etc
Some time to install.

My requirement is to process all the packages with one batch. This is because recors in one package depends on the records in other packages.
I managed to implement the folowing workaround :
data are selected from the source ods and processed with one batch.
data are picked up by start routine at with package number 1,
all other packages dont pick up data :
Free RESULT_PACKAGE[].
IF datapackid = 1.
INCLUDE zbw_start_routine_incl06.
ENDIF.
My only worry that this package will be extra large (2mln records or more).
Are there any ways to process all data in one batch?

Hi ,
You can increase the package size in dtp , i suppose it can be upto 50 crores .
But data load performance will be effected .
Also if data records with same keys to be in same package , you may use semantic key functionality.

In the bookmark panel, how can I close all bookmarks files with one click?

Every time I want to have just the files on the panel I have to close them on by one to have a genéral view of my bookmarks organisation. It would be so nice to have a feature to close everything with one click. But so fa I have been unable to find a solution. Thanks if you can help!

Recently bought new printer. All works fine with one OSX user. However, cannot print anything on other OSX user, including cannot print Adobe PDFs or to new printer. Puzzling!

I recently bought a new HP printer. I was on an admin user when I installed it. All works fine with this admin account/user. I can print to the HP, print to Adobe PDFs.
However, when I then go over to another user account, I cannot print *anything*. I cannot print to Adobe PDF, cannot print to the new HP. If I try to print an excel file, it says "cannot communicate with the printer" along with some useless suggestions. If I try to print a page on FireFox, nothing happens. That is, sure I get the usual dialog box, click the appropriate choice of printer, click the number of copies, then click the OK button ... and nothing happens. No pdf process is started. Nothing is sent to the HP printer.
The fact that both printer options are not working suggests it is some kind of OS problem, not specific to either printer "device".

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm a bit leery of trying that. I would think that if the driver was not installed, then none of my users could use the printer. However, both admin users can use the new printer. The list of available printers is:
Adobe PDF 7.0
New HP Printer
I also used to have Old HP Printer, which I removed. Before, Users A, B and C could use both the Adobe PDF and the Old HP printers. Then, after I added the New HP Printer, it showed up in the list of printers for all three users. However, after I added the new printer, only the two admin accounts, users A and C, can actually print anything. Both users A and C can use the Adobe PDF printer AND the New HP Printer. But I get error messages with user B, for both the Adobe PDF printer and the New HP Printer.

Two iPhones, two computers - need all data transferred to one iPhone

I was using a 2G iPhone and was syncing it with my desktop (Mac) on a regular basis. I was traveling for a month and sorta synced it with my laptop (also a Mac), though I cannot remember whether or not the contacts actually synced - I want to say that they did not, in case it matters. I did purchase and download a couple of apps while traveling, though.
One month later, I decided to splurge for the 3GS (woo hoo!). I now need to sync the 3GS with my desktop and copy the apps off of my 2G so I'll have it all in one place.
I have resynced the 2G with my desktop, but the apps didn't "upload" (not that I expected them to).
I'm sure I'm not the only one out there with multiple computers & multiple iPhones - anyone have any advice for me?

If you purchased music or apps on the iPhone then the file>transfer purchases from iPhone will copy them to the new computer and should prompt you to authorize the new computer.
If you purchased music or apps on the computer then you will need to copy those to the new computer's iTunes library. This is easy if they are on the same network with Home Sharing within iTunes. iTunes 9: Understanding Home Sharing http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3819
Once all the music and/or apps are on the new computer then make sure you have a good backup on the new computer. You can control-click on the iPhone under devices in iTunes and select backup. Your previous iPhone should contain all your SMS history, call history, photos, contacts, calendars, ect. Now when you connect the new iPhone 3Gs it will prompt if you want to setup as a new iPhone or restore from backup. Choose restore from backup.

Rebuild iphoto replaced all my thumbnails with one picture

Out of the blue my iphoto prompted me to rebuild. I followed the instructions. Now, ALL of my thumbnails are one single picture. When I click on the picture to open it the correct picture opens. However, it is very annoying to see ONE picture throughout my iPhoto. Please help!!!! I'm on the verge of tears.

What version of iPhoto?
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Use the option to rebuild the thumbnails. This can take 3 or 4 goes.

Try this
Go to your Inbox folder
Tap on the "Edit"-Button on the top right
Select the first email in your list
Hold down the "Move" button
While you are still holding the "Move"-Button, deselect the first E-Mail
Put away all your fingers from the screen and wait a few seconds
Now Mail asks you where to move ALL of your emails
Select the Trash Folder as destination
From inside the Trash Folder, you can delete all items at once
I will have to find out where I got this from and edit. It does work, takes a little dexterity and patience.

Hi,
from what I understand from your post, the thing that's missing is the retrieval of the data from the tables and its types. This could be done very similar to your already done tablespecs, just perform a select, use a cursor again and in there, make sure that character (etc.) fields get surrounded by '' and integers not.

It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer files/docs/pics/music/etc.
Use your backup copy to put everything back.
If for some reason you have failed to maintain a backup copy (not good), then you can transfer from an ipod: File>Transfer Purcahses
You buy one and only one download. it is your responsibility to move copy/backup your purchases.

"Selecting All" while dealing with one album

I have a question. When I am in the newest display mode in iTunes 10 (where the album/album art is on left side of the screen followed by name of the tracks on the right. I have to hold Ctrl + click each individual track because I want to select certain tracks to paste my album art. What I really want to do is to click and drag the mouse cursor simply over the tracks I want to add album art. Is there a easier way to select things other that having to click individual tracks?

First, go to View > as List.
Then use the search bar to your advantage. Type the name of the artist for the album at the top right. This will only show the songs pertaining to that artist/album. Then just Ctrl + A and edit multiple items and go from there

Can I open all of mine emails with one Master Password ?

After entering master password, I have to enter password for each of mine email accounts also.
Let's say for 20 accounts I must enter 20 different passwords, and it's time consuming. Can Thunderbird
store all my passwords, so I can open all email accounts with one master password. If not can I get a Add-on or opp in order to do this, please let me know.
