What am I missing here: Canopus ADVC110 Footage vs. CS6?

My church uses the subject Canopus device to capture DV (avi) footage to hard disk. I've successfully edited this footage from this workflow for years in CS4 and CS5 (skipped 5.5). When CS6 arrived, I attempted to use it, but quickly switched back to CS5 due to the issue I am about to describe. I want to finally switch over to CS6 now (and to CC soon, I hope), so I very much want to understand what the issue is with CS6. Here's the issue:
I've narrowed this down to the original footage AVI files captured from the Canopus. As soon as PP begins to conform the footage, it hangs for a very long time. Initially, the small preview thumb displays an image. The conforming progress bar displays (but no progress). But the monitor displays the footage as offline. During this time, any click in the PP window yields a "(not responding)" suffix in the title bar. Eventually, given enough time, the video footage appears and scrubs, but without audio, the audio waveform, and with no conforming progress bar. There are no error messages during this time. Given the time consumed and lack of audio, I have not proceeded any further in the edit.
I suspect this is a x64 codec issue with the Canopus. Does anyone have experience with this workflow and this problem? Is the solution software or hardware? Do I need to replace the Canopus? If so, I need recommendations please.

New info: I do have another (HP z400, WIN7 x64) machine with CS6 that exhibits similar behavoir as the other with the Canopus footage. My user on this one is in the Admin user group. I don't get the "not responding" suffix in the title bar. But the conforming progress bar does not move. When I go to close PP, i get this message:
"Metadata writing in progress. Are you sure you want to exit?"
When I click yes, the "not responding" suffix appears and I have to force close PP. The clip apparently does not have any metadata - at least none appear in the Metadata tab in PP. Perhaps this is a significant clue.
Also, we use Windows Movie Maker to capture the footage to DV avi. Low tech, I know.

One of the computers on my homesharing network is automatically downloading purchases even though settings are not checked for this to occur? What am I missing here? BTW only one of the three computers (pc) is doing this.

We have three computers (two pcs and one mac) on our home sharing network. When I buy a song on my pc it is automatically downloading it to my husband's pc - but not my daugher's mac. I think I found the answer to my own problemin case anyone experienced the same thing. There is a separate spot in itunes under preferences to allow for automatic downloads from other devices. It seems unrelated to home sharing. I unchecked the boxes under the "store" section and that appears to have taken care of the issue.

Imported files from my camera, a mixture of photos and videos, the videos (mp4 format on my Canon SX60 HS) always appear at the start of my library view. What am I missing here?

Even though I select sorting by capture time, the videos do not intersperse with the photos in chronological order. What am I missing here?
I have tried both putting them in a collection and viewing all pictures etc. to no avail.
In Windows Explorer, I have them sorted by time taken successfully. They all import into folders by date in "My Pictures", both photos and videos when I import them.
I am running Windows 7 Pro 64 bit and LR5 CC edition.

LR's handling of video metadata (e.g. capture time) is incomplete and buggy. Please add your opinion and vote to these threads in the official Adobe feedback forum:

That is a file type used by email programs. IMO, with the number of people using web mail these days, and not an email client, people shouldn't be sending attachments on that format.

Group X-Fade Problem - Grouped tracks apply different crossfade lengths when dragged in place? (What am I missing here?)

In Logic Pro X (and 9) I am hitting a wall editing a chamber string session I just tracked.
When I have multiple regions selected with either rubber-banding or phase-locked editing in groups, and I X-fade them with other regions, they apply different crossfade lengths. This does NOT occur when I individually overlap the regions. The process gets cumbersome/tedious and I feel like I am missing something here.
It is consistently applying larger to smaller crossfade lengths from top to bottom of the selected region overlaps.
What am I missing? Thanks for the help!

Same here, I'm seeing it with a LP9 project that I opened in LPX. I can't edit this way, it's driving me crazy. I also tried selecting all the regions and setting the numerical value for the fade time in the inspector, but that gives even more silly values.
Also, zooming in on the waveform looks very blocky compared to LP9.
I hope this is some setting I'm overlooking, otherwise I'll have to go back to LP9 for editing audio.

Just a slight update that this does not seem to be consistent so I really must be missing something. In some cases Maverick's does seem to leave On My Mac calendars alone when CalDAV calendars are added while in other cases the On My Mac calendars seem to disappear. I really am not sure what might be going on here.

Previewing straight web content in DC? What am I missing here?

Playing with DC CS3 for the first time. I simply want to open
one of my web sites in one of the emulated devices.
I must be missing something, here. I've read thorugh the help
and have even watched some of the video tutorials. However, when I
try to open a page (e.g. index.php), I'm told by DC that "the
selected content type Browser is not supported by the FlashLite
player on this device."
Okay, I don't want to view my page through the FlashLite
player. I just want to see it through the phone's browser. Am I to
understand that I can't preview normal web content? How do I open a
URL? What's the Browser content type for? Does this thing emulate,
say, the Opera browser?
Perhaps I'm misunderstanding the purpose of Device Central?

Are you using DC with Dreamweaver? DC is inteded for Flash
Lite development. For Flash Lite development, it's great. It
emulates processer performance (and actually slows down your movies
if they are too processor intesive), shows you how your content
will look on most Flash Lite enabled phones, and gives you an
interface to test keyPress on a mobile phone. Additionally (and
this is not on any Adobe spec sheets), if for some reason Developer
Central crashes, you don't lose what you were working on in Flash.

Using Flowlayout in GUI - what am I missing here?

The following is some code from an open source applet that I am trying to modify to change the look of the GUI a bit. What this code does is place three buttons on a panel called "btnPan". "Btnpan" is then placed in another panel called jpanel1, along with two text fields (called txtInput and txtOutput) using gridlayout (see the seventh line below, including blank lines in the count, and also lines 23, 32, and 33). jpanel1 is then placed in a larger panel called jpanel3 in the SOUTH area, using borderlayout. A blank (for now) panel called jpanel2 is placed in the NORTH section, but the rest of jpanel3 is empty.
This version works fine. The three buttons, and the two text fields wind up evenly spaced along a row like they should. See the code below:

The problem occurred when I decided that I'd rather use flowlaout and have the buttons and text areas shoved against each other toward the left. I eliminated line 7 and replaced it with the commented out line shown as line 8 , above:

When I use that line, the three buttons and the first text field (txtInput) disappear, but the last text field (txtOutput) remains off toward the right side of jpanel1.
I cannot find anything wrong with the flowlayout statement, but this is the first time that I have tried anything with GUI so I am probably just missing something obvious. Anyone know what could be going wrong?

After saving a PDF with a Spot UV layer, all of the highlights and detail under the spot color are flattened in Overprint Preview. What am I missing here?

I'm attempting to print some business cards with a Spot UV coating. I have a layer above the artwork with a spot color (set to green per the printer's request). Underneath is a logo, essentially a red circle with some highlights and depth. My issue is that, after exporting a PDF, all of the highlights and detail on the red circle disappear in Overprint Preview (it's there when I hide the Spot UV layer, but missing when I hide the Spot Color). What can I do to retain that information?

Importing - what am I missing here ?

My wife has about 70 cds stored on her PC. Storage space is about 8 Gb
Some artists have multi albums so in her file structure on the PC it would read
Artist Name
sub folder - album title one
sub folder - album title two
and so on.
Trying to create a playlist by selecting the entire master directory that the artists and their sub folders are in is not working correctly in that not all of the sub folders get imported, only just over 3Gb worth
Am I missing something basic here, or do we need to change the file structure how they are stored on the PC first to something else

Following on from this I decided to delete all the created items from the aborted attempt to import the various folders.
Boy did it prove interesting, and is something which I was not impressed with.
One of my wifes Cd's was from the Proms 95 concert - Itunes instead of putting it into the playlist as per the original folder called - Proms95 infact created folders for EACH inidvidual artist so that the music was dotted all over the place
Not much use is it when you want to listen to one Cd on it.

Windows 7 Image ...what am I missing here?

I haven't been able to successfully make an image of a Windows 7
computer, and restore the image to another computer with identical hardware.
I installed the patch to correct the blank screen after restoring the
image when using sysprep, but now it goes into the "mini setup" to enter
user information and I get an error stating the installation cannot
proceed suggesting I reinstall from the Windows 7 media.
I'm trying doing this on Dell Vostro 200 computers with identical hardware.
I have also tried creating an image without using sysprep and I get a
0xc000000e (doesn't even display the Windows 7 splash screen) when
trying to boot Windows on the computer with the restored image.
Any ideas?

Likely has to do with Hidden Partitions.
I would recommend going into the Bios, unhiding their special hidden
recovery partition, deleting the partition, and then Installing a Fresh
Non-OEM Copy of Windows that will not put back the hidden stuff.
Then it should image just fine w/o any special tricks.

You might try using the add-on 'NoSquint' which allows numerous zoom options specific to each page you visit & keeps your settings - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/nosquint/

In most cases you can simply "upgrade" (meaning downgrade) directly from the installation. It would be a good idea to save your passwords & bookmarks just to be on the safe side.
