What am I missing? (overheating, fans, tpfancontrol)

Situation:
I have three T60 laptops. I will henceforth refer to these at T60-A, T60-B, and T60-C
T60-A is a 14" version, and is working fine.
T60-B is a 15" version who's hard drive died. I'm trying to install a new hard drive. This computer works fine with the hard drive from T-60-A, but overheats and shuts down. This is the one I want to fix. This is the one I'll mostly focus on.
T60-C is a parts computer with suspected bad motherboard. It is also a 15" model and has been taken apart as of yesterday, fan extracted.
T60-B overheating symptoms:
She runs warm (by feel directly under the fan on battery (from T60-A) power. She runs HOT with power supply (also from T60-A) plugged in, and shuts down after a time. No fancy graphics programs running. Just Google Chrome.
I can hear the fan running, and feel hot exhaust coming out. In looking at the intake and exhaust, I seen no visible dirt/dust/spilled drinks that would block the ports. My initial plan was to replace fan with that from T60-C, but at this point, I'm not sure that's the problem, and might do more harm than good. I'm not adverse to performing this opweration though. Fan is loud, but not the sort of 'fan going bad' loud. It's seemingly just working really hard.
Any suggestions on starting points?

I figured this would be a helpful diagnostic tool.
I downloaded the program, extracted the files (using T60-A again, being the only reliable computer). But I can't for the life of me figure out how to install the program. I found the .exe, but get error. winio.sys is missing in app folder or failed to load.
Any thoughts or recommendations on a different download that might work?
Sorry if these are the most basic of questions. I did search here and forums.thinkpads, and I'm still stuck.

What are the 7-digit type/model numbers from the back of each laptop? This will aid further discussion and the referencing of part numbers.
If the fan in "T60-B" is making any abnormal noise it means it may not be giving optimal performance. It could probably still use a fresh cleaning and lubrication even if you don't see any obvious buildup of dust or particles. In addition, the thermal paste (a.k.a. thermal compound) between the heatsink and CPU may need to be refreshed. The thermal compound aids in heat dissipation. Use a good quality product such as Arctic Silver 5, which always works great for me.

IBook verses Kindle - what am I missing?

I'm a huge fan of Apple and would love to embrace the whole iBook thing - but I just don't get it. You can only read and iBook on your IOS device, no OSX. You can't buy a book in iTunes and then download it to your device, you can only purchase from the devices itself. I currently only have an iPhone but will be getting the iPad 2 when it comes out. Now i'm wondering if I buy a book on my iPad, will I be able to also read on my iPhone?
All of these things are possible with Kindle - so I'm just wondering what am I missing. Is Kindle that far ahead of Apple on this?
I would rather use iBook to keep it in within the Apple product suite, but I don't see why anyone would use iBooks over Kindle.
Any insights are appreciated.

As others have already said, you can use iBooks to share your books on your iPhone and iPad, but not your Mac or other devices (Windows, Android, etc.). Kindle has apps or applications for sharing books on multiple platforms. However, if you have an iPad, you probably won't read books much on your computer or laptop (using Kindle). When I don't have my iPad and I have time to kill, I may use my iPhone to catch up on books, so if you have an Android phone you may prefer the Kindle app.
Of the three major e-readers, I think Nook is the by far the worst. I read one book using Nook and I'll never use it again. iBooks and Kindle are much better, though I prefer iBooks. The biggest advantage of iBooks is the ability to purchase books from within the app. With Kindle and Nook, you'll be routed to the external Safari browser to make your purchase on the Amazon and Barns and Noble websites, respectively. I don't know if Apple will allow Kindle to make in-App purchases in the future, but now it makes purchasing books much easier on iBooks (especially impulsively).
iBooks also has other small features that I prefer in iBooks over Kindle (e.g., the way you turn pages, how it deals with pictures, footnotes, notes, bookmarks, font options). I first look in iBooks to see if the book I want is offered. Now that Random House will be on iBooks, hopefully there will be even more titles. But it is not a deal-breaker if iBooks doesn't offer it and Kindle does. I haven't tried getting books via Google or other e-Readers.
If my experience is typical, you'll probably find yourself reading many more books. I have even been buying books on iBooks that I already had in paper form but have been piling up unopened for years. There are also many free public domain books (e.g., older literature).
While it is true that the glossy screen can make it difficult to read in certain bright conditions, I haven't been fortunate to do all my reading by the side of a pool on vacation. If you are lucky enough for that to be an issue, I guess you can always purchase both a Kindle and iPad 2!

According to the publisher For GoSystem Tax, the 32-bit version of Internet Explorer 8, 9, or 10 is required. Which means it can't be accessed from an iPad. This seems weird. I would recommend you contact the publisher.

Thank you so much for providing the details about the duplicate song issue you are experiencing. It sounds like you would like to remove the duplicate songs that will not play on your iPhone, but when you connect it to iTunes, iTunes only shows you one copy of the song on your iPhone.
In this situation, I recommend deleting the individual songs that do not play directly from your iPhone. I found the steps to do this on page 61 of the iPhone User Guide (http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iphone_user_guide.pdf):
Delete a song from iPhone: In Songs, swipe the song, then tap Delete.

Thanks for chipping in.   I discovered something after trying what you suggested.   I have quite a few collections of hits by year from Time Life and Billboard. I've eliminated duplicate tracks that appear in both collections (or other CDs for that matter), but cross-reference the CD where I deleted the track and placed in in the comments section of the CD track I retained.   If I "search" by song name, only the remaining track appears.   But if I want to hear for example Classic Rock 1964, only those tracks remaining would be there when I pull up that CD.   So, I type "Classic Rock 1964," in the search field. First the boxes on the right of the screen open up showing album icons. Showing four tracks by album with a button to view 10 more, then four songs with an option to vies 18 more.   I finally noticed that at the top of the boxes is a blue band that reads, :Show Classic Rock 1964 in Music. When I double click on this blue band, all 24 tracks from the original CD appear in the song list format even though I had deleted two of them because they appeard in a Beach Boys CD.   On those tracks, I had referenced Classic Rock 1964 in the comments field.    So, bottom line, Search will also look in the comments field if you click "filter by all" in the magnifying glass to the left of the search field.   And you can move all tracks that if finds into a song list by double clicking on the blue band.

How to tell what fonts are missing in a Photosohp CS5 document?

Hello! I have received some work from a graphic designer. I need to modify some of the text in the document. When I open the document I get an error message:
Some text layers might need to be updated before they can be used for vector based output. Do you want to update these layers now? [Update] [No]
If I click [Update] it replaces the font with Myriad Pro. If I click [No] the text looks the way the designer intended, but I have the exclamation mark-triangle symbol over the layer with the text. If I try to edit the text I get another warning:
Editing or rendering the text layer "Text Layer" will cause its layout to change. Continue? [Cancel] [OK]
The same behavior described above occurs. If I click [Cancel] I obviously can't edit the text. If I click [OK] it changes the font to Myriad Pro.
I would like to determine what font the layer is using. I could swear that previous versions of Photoshop would tell me what fonts were missing when I opened a document. I can't use the text tool to select the text without it changing the font. Other posts have mentioned using the text tool to look at the text drop-down to find a greyed-out font which indicates the missing font. I do not have that. I only have perhaps 200 fonts installed. Can anyone tell me how to determine what fonts a .PSD document is using? I would prefer not to bug the graphic designer if possible. Thanks much!

Not sure why you are getting ""Font is present on the system but requires a layout change.", usually you do not get that instead the name of the font shows.
We use extensis Universal Type Client, so the fonts load automatically upon opening files, and never really get missing fonts in Photoshop.
Actually fontbook has auto font loading if you want to give that a try. Fontbook >> Preferences

You Hard Drive might be framented or have bad sectors. Use Windows utility to deframent the drive and Scan Disk for file allocation errors or bad sectors.

Could be several things. Bad path, bad version, etc. give us details on your client install. What Oracle client do you have installed. App Designer is 32 bit. If you installed the 64 bit client you might get this error. What OS are you using. PeopleTools version? guessing 8.51 from your other post.
