What am I seeing?

I have an Aperture library consisting of several thousand scanned slides. The EXIF data for these files shows the date on which the scans were made, as expected. For cataloging purposes, I manually enter data in the IPTC Core metadata, including "Date Created", as well as keywords and location data. I then go to Metadata>Write metadata to master, which I assume does just that. If I end the session and then reopen Aperture, the Date Created data that appear are not those that I entered, thus:
The date that appears in the Date Created space is neither the date scanned nor the date I entered as IPTC data. I believe it is the date the files were copied to an external HD. However, looking at the same library in list view,
Sorry, I don't know how to make the inserted png larger, but if you view it in Preview you can see that there are two columns labled Date. The first is the date that I entered as the IPTC Date Created, the second is the EXIF date mentioned above. Note that the Date from the first column, the one that I entered in the IPTC Date Created space does not appear there.
Why? And how can I search my libraries by IPTC Date Created?

It seems as though though it may be a connection issue, possibly hardware or adapter. Make certain the connections are TIGHT.
For software you may try a smc reset:
Shut down the computer.
Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.
On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.
Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.
Try a pram reset:
Shut down your Mac.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Option, Command (⌘), P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on your Mac.
Immediately press and hold the Option-Command-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears. Continue holding the keys down until your Mac restarts, and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
If no joy you can take it in to an Apple store genius bar for a free evaluation make an appointment first.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page).

After clicking one of the circled links, you should be taken to another page, and after a few seconds you should see a download dialog appear for the msicuu2.exe file. Here's a screenshot of what it looks like for me in Firefox:
Choose to Save the file. If the dialog box does not appear for you, click the link on the page that says "CLICK HERE IF IT DOES NOT". Here's a screenshot of the page with the relevant link circled:
When the dialog appears, choose to save the file.

The format keeps changing but the basics remain...in the center of the screen are large images of the recent apps which you can close by swiping up and away.

You cannot customize the Safari toolbar on the iPad.
What you can do on the iPad is go to Settings>Safari>Always show Bookmarks Bar>On and that will add a bookmarks bar on to the Safari browser.

The libraries appear to all be in tact, now.

I simply cannot Sync Firefox 32.0.1; how is this possible? Every guide you have does not match up with what I actually see when going to preferences or Tools.

I've searched everything I can, followed all the directions and get to the point Firefox tells me Syncing will begin shortly. Well it never happens and I don't see the options in Tools and Preferences indicated by the help topics.

If you have a backup of your information on your computer, I would suggest putting your phone into recovery mode, by holding down the home key and keeping it held down while you connect it by usb into your computer with itunes running. Keep the home button held down until it indicates recovery mode, and proceed with the restore.

What do recipients see when I call mobile from Sky...

I have just signed up to the US subscription (calling US landlines and mobiles from Skype) - however, how does the person I am calling know that it is me? What do they see on their mobile phone? My skype username? A strange long number?
Any thoughts on this would be appreciated!!
PS I "do not" have a Skype number that Skype sells for an extra charge..

Hi - the new lightning connector on the iPhone 5 has an authentication chip so very few 3rd party manufacturers have come out with compatible devices - so I doubt that you will find a frame that works for both phones - however Apple has come out with 2 apapters - one is a cable and one is a direct 30 pin to lightning device - you would have to check out each frame to see if one of these might work - I looked at the Panasonic and it looks promising but I would check the return policy of anything that you buy in a case it doesn't work.

What am I seeing just prior to "Loading"?

I've been using Lightroom for a while now, though I gave up on it early on with 1.0 and took a few months off. I've come back to it as of a month ago and am really enjoying it. One thing puzzles me and I can't seem to find an answer to it anywhere: after I've copied the RAW files off the memory card, when I browse to each RAW file I'll see the image with a certain colour temperature and settings as it says "LOADING"...then a second or two later it will pop into a flat, neutral setting (what I'd expect to see from a RAW files).
In the couple of seconds before it loads, what am I seeing? An embedded JPEG? Or the RAW with some sort of default Lightroom setting? Sometimes I really *like* what I see and can't ever quite get it back to that...

If you want the actual jpeg preview from a RAW file that you didn't shoot RAW+jpeg, you can use exiftool (google for it) to extract the jpeg preview from a RAW. Also, if you load the RAW into the vendor supplied tool, you should get a similar rendering as in-camera jpeg.

Public folder migration difference what Outlook client see

I have successfully migrated public fodders from Exchange 2007 to Exchange 2013. Problem that I`m seeing is what Outlook client see.
I have two types of clients :
Windows XP + Outlook 2007
Windows 7 + Outlook 2013
Outlook 2013 client see Public fodders as expected.
Outlook 2007 client, sees one level lower including ipm_subtree.
Is these normal ?

Please try to use OWA to check whether you can expand the subtree of Public Folder.
If OWA works, how about using Outlook 2007 with Online Mode?

Why am I unable to scroll down in Adobe InDesign when my page - and objects - are obviously below what I can see?

My InDesign CS6 has been doing this ever since I uninstalled and reinstalled on new machine. At first it wasn't that bad and thought I would live with it and just hit Ctrl+0 and get the page to fit window. But scrolling up and down in the program should be something I can always do and I need to get to the bottom of this.
Details: I am someone who uses a combination of the alt key and my mouse scroll wheel to zoom in and out of a document quickly. Well, when I do this from far away (say... 25% zoom) and go to zoom in InDesign moves my layout page randomly down so the bottom half of my page is below the Indesign viewing Window and the top half of my page is above. It's very clear that there is a "snap" that takes my page there. The most annoying part is that even though half of my layout page is off the bottom of the program viewing window, as you can see from the screen shot, there is no option to vertically scroll to center my page in viewing window (using mouse wheel - or vertical bar within program).
I know this is a small issue - But i never had it with my CS6 on my old machine. Is there a setting I do not know about? Like with Guides or something?

I see some anomalies in scrolling on my Win7 machine with a Logitech mouse, though nothing quite as bad as what you describe. Make sure you have the newest driver (or if you already do, try going back a version), and you can try trashing the ID prefs (see Replace Your Preferences ) though I don't really think that's the issue.

Why would the browser preview display look different than what I am seeing in the design view? Pls help!

When working with accordion panels, when I first insert the widget it looks fine, then I begin customizing the content and then the Preview display does not look the same as the Design display. For instance, in the design display the panel aligns with the adjacent image, but in Preview, it appears offset by one or two pixels.

What Should I See Entering Time Machine?

I am using a Lacie 500 gig external drive to retain Time Machine backups. Everything appears to work properly. On entering Time Machine, I see only the contents of my 'Desktop' (except the Mac HD and Lacie HD) and nothing else.
Is this as it should be, or should I be able to access files/data not on my desktop?
In Time Machine settings, I have excluded backup of the Lacie drive itself, otherwise I have confirmed everything is actually backed up by examining the Lacie HD backup itself.
What if anything am I missing here?

With no open Finder windows and all other apps hidden, what I see when I click the TM icon in the dock is a column-view Finder window with Desktop selected in the sidebar, and receding windows backward in time. Is that what you see?
The if I click another sidebar item, such as my home (user) folder, or Documents, I see the contents of those directories, also with receding windows.
If you click the backward arrow in the Time Machine view TM will take you back to the last time there was a change in the selected directory, one change at a time, per click.

What am I seeing?
